I've been to Toast a couple of times and each time I leave satisfied with the experience. The coffee is from my favorite local roaster, Anodyne, with the waitstaff keeping it full and piping hot throughout my meal. The space is tight but Toast works with what they have using bright colors and fun decor for plenty to look at during your visit. We came here on a Sunday morning and experienced a short wait, about 20 minutes but was confused by the bar seating also being included with the wait. Service was fast and friendly, especially considering how busy they were. I didn't order my usual Eggs Benedict this time and decided to try the Rise and Shine and I was beyond thrilled with my choice! Flavor in every bite, super tender brisket, plentiful portions of everything, even the cilantro lime rice was bursting with flavor! I didn't use the chipotle mayo but I honestly think it was better without it. I'm looking forward to returning during the warmer months so we can take advantage of the outdoor seating area. You can bet I'll be ordering the Rise and Shine again!

Had been wanting to try this place forever, and was super excited to finally do so. Stopped in here after 8:00 mass at St. Stanislaus, and was able to grab a table for three, although the place was already pretty packed. Toast does not accept reservations. It's first come, first serve. There are tables on two levels, and a long bar available for dining. Service was fast, friendly and accommodating. I had the Mary's Hot Sister bloody mary and the Rise & Shine. The bloody was good, with a nice little hint of spice, and came with a chaser. The Rise & Shine was fresh and delicious, with the braised brisket being super tender and flavorful. I could have eaten an entire bowl of just that! My mother ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, and was overwhelmed by the size. Three pancakes, the size of dinner plates, glazed on top with vanilla icing. Not overly sweet, very delicious and easily a shareable dish. Toast is a great spot with an upbeat yet chilled vibe. If you can't get in right away, it's absolutely worth a wait!

Toast is a very trendy and fun brunch spot to try out in the Walkers Point area! My boyfriend and I have been a few times now and have always had great experiences. The staff has always been so kind and attentive, which I appreciate. We tend to go earlier in the morning and usually get seated right away- I have seen that waits can be longer at times. One of my favorite starters is their croquettes- such good flavor! I also recommend their French toast with berries - especially if you have a sweet tooth! I will definitely be going back again and recommend trying it out if you haven't been!

I was in town for a weekend and landed at Toast after searching Yelp for brunch recommendations. Narrowed my search down to a couple of places and in the end, my college kid was sucked in by the photos of the drink of the month, a S'mores Latte, complete with floating teddy grahams. The drinks didn't disappoint, but the food was also really great. She had a croissant breakfast sandwich, and I had a green goddess omelet. We sat right in a spot where all the food coming out of the kitchen toward the main dining room had to pass our table. *Every single thing* looked really, really good. If you're a sweet breakfast person, this would definitely be the place to eat. The sweet dishes looked so over-the-top good. I will definitely be back and next time I'm trying the avocado toast, (which also looked amazing!) We got there at about 9:20 on a Sunday and had to wait less than 15 minutes, but got there much later (closer to noon) the previous day and left because there were so many people waiting outside. Early seems best if you don't want to wait long.

Ambiance: pretty casual in here & i felt like the restaurant felt small. Service: our server was nice! nothing to complain for the service. it was my friends birthday and she brought out complimentary donuts that were tasty! Food: I got the chorizo skillet and it was so good! usually chorizo dishes can be greasy or salty and i thought they did a great job balancing out all of that. my friend also enjoyed her dish - i believe it was a benedict. Great location for a brunch!

I probably should have opted for a different restaurant from the start, since they don't answer their phone... that was probably an indicator of what was to come. But I drove over so that I could place an order, since the restaurant at the hotel we were at was terrible. When I let the hosts know I'd like to place a to go order, they said they'd have to seat me at the bar to place a carryout order. I already knew what I wanted so when someone came over for my order five minutes later I freed up my spot at the bar since I wasn't eating in. People at host stand were friendly enough, but it's really lucky that I checked the bag when I got into the car because only half my order was in it. The host told his manager about the problem with my order the manager didn't believe it, saying he bagged the order himself. So I had to go back out to the car to get the bag to prove to him that the order was only halfway there (I thought perhaps the order had been packed into two different bags and the host simply didn't realize it, which is why I left the bag in the car). Of course it took another 15 minutes to cook the remaining half of our order (the only thing that was actually in the bag was a waffle I'd ordered for my toddler and the donuts I'd ordered; both adult meals had been missing), because although the other option was a refund, it would mean no one would have breakfast except for the baby. The manager said that he refunded my entire order, and when I got back to the hotel I found that they'd remade the order in its entirety, not just the items that were missing originally. But I'm still not sure I would return because of the kind of vibe I got when I was telling the manager what happened. If I do return, it would only be for dine-in. The restaurant is somewhat questionably accessible. There are two steps to enter and there is no railing. When I arrived, two other women were entering at the same time and one was struggling to sue the stairs, saying she has trouble with high steps (I suspect the lack of railing didn't help as she was grabbing onto the side of the building with one hand whilst using cane with the other). There is disabled parking in back, but not much. In general you'll be looking at street parking around here, or maybe a parking lot if there's one in nearby.

The wait was a bit long, but it was worth it thanks to the super friendly host and our amazing server. The ambiance was cool and had a great vibe. Food and drinks were satisfying, definitely a solid spot for a relaxed meal. Would come back!

My cousin and I went to Toast for a recent Friday brunch get-together, mainly because she has a sweet tooth. I thought they had enough interesting veggie forward savory dishes to make it a good choice for both of us. The decor is cute and rock/stoner forward. Lots of wood and psychedelica, but as with all these old space there's a lot of hard surface and no sound dampening, so it's loud in there, even when it's not that busy. Service was attentive and solid. Our server was patient with us when we needed extra time to looks at pictures on our phones of the dishes. Portions were plentiful. My omelette was lighter than it looked and filed with yummy veggies and goat cheese. My breakfast potatoes were flavorful and crispy. I also enjoyed a boozy coffee drink. My cousin had an apple french toast that was hair too sweet even for her, but she enjoyed her hot coffee drink and hash browns and my omelette. I can see us trying this place again. It seems like parking could be a problem on busy weekends.

Based on Yelp reviews. Best rock'n'roll breakfast. See pictures. We were seated upon entry. Ordered up coffee and a Coca-Cola for my wife. Loved the character of this Toast. Albums on the wall. Old Beatles cartoons characters on the wall. Breakfast was Country benedict. Served with a perfectly poached egg on top of a sausage patty on top of a delectable biscuit. With gravy poured over it. The hash browns were delicious. Everything was hot when served. Very hip and we dug it. Get there early!

So good. I had the spicy bloody merry. My wife and daughter split the mimosas flight. Hands down the best drinks we have had in the area. I had the brisket skillet. It was excellent, the cooks know what they are doing. My wife had the bisket and gravy with curly fries, again so good. The pancake my daughter got as a side item was amazingly large and fluffy. I can't stress enough how much we enjoyed our brunch. The only downside and it's minimal is parking is around the corner and it's $5 for 2 hours. The inside has a cool vibe definitely fits the

I was headed to Milwaukee for the day and decided to give these folks a try. Great choice Louie!! Upon entering a nice guy greeted + sat me & my guest. I love the decor especially the Diana Ross picture. I need it!!! Our server Mikayla was on point, friendly and cool. Her vibe set the tone for an enjoyable visit which it was. I ordered the Smoke Show Hash with egg whites....it was scrumptious!!! Whoever created that deserves an award. My guest had the Jo Jo's Classic with chicken sausage which he stated was good. The coffee was good. The ambiance was inviting. Music was great. If I'm ever in Milwaukee again I will definitely stop by again. Keep up the Great work guys!!!

My dining companion and I were looking for a last-minute brunch spot, and we're so glad we ended up at Toast. Though there was a bit of a wait at 9:45 on a Saturday morning, that's to be expected in Milwaukee. They quoted us 25-30 minutes, but because there were only two of us and we weren't picky with where we sat, it only ended up being a 15-20 minute wait. We sat at the bar, and service was spectacular. I believe our server's name was Heather, and oh my goodness was she on top of things. We had waters delivered right as we were seated and she had our drinks ready just a minute after we ordered them. She had a great energy about her and took our food orders promptly. Our meals were delivered quickly as well. I ordered the Wild Berry Crepe and though at first was surprised by the fact that the dish was cold, it ended up being really pleasant. The creamy berry filling was sweet without being sugary, and refreshing rather than heavy. My dining companion went with the Cosmic Croissant, and he was content with the substantial filling and extra-crispy breakfast potatoes. For two non-alcoholic beverages and two entrees, our total came to around $37 (before tip). That's incredibly reasonable for a Milwaukee sit-down brunch, in my opinion. The vibes were great, the space was bright, the food was delicious, the service was spectacular. I'd definitely recommend Toast. I know I'll be back in the future.

I always wanted to try toast for breakfast, I decided to go early in the morning when they open up. I Walked in greeted right away and seated YES. When you walk in the place it's very colorful, and cool Hippie vibe. The menu has lots of great choice but I always like to ask the waitress what you recommend. So I did and IVY said to get the cosmic croissant, and she sold me on it because she believed in it with passion. The cosmic croissant was amazing but I would prefer it with no egg, but overall it's amazing. Also the harsh browns are off the chain, but I recommend getting them with pepper jack cheese, red and greens pepper and Jalapeno. The customer service is top notch quality, super clean, great lighting and super friendly staff. This is great first date place, business meeting spot or solo.

    - delicious food, good service, cozy ambiance - no…read morereservation can be made for brunch - excited to come back for a sweet option Happy to get a seat at this tasty diner! With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. We had biscuits and fried green tomatoes, and we each ordered a different type of spicy chicken sandwich. We both really liked our food. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was really good and the biscuits were soo good!! The fried green tomatoes were just so-so, but I don't have much to compare it to. Our margaritas were very tasty. Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.

Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

Consistently busy over the years and for good reason. I've been here a few times and I've never been disappointed with the service or the food. It's a dark, cozy little restaurant bar but with so much character and history. Service is friendly and efficient. I love that the food I've ordered here has always exceeded my expectations with the seasonings and quality of ingredients used. Reasonably priced too! If you don't have a reservation, you may end up waiting for a table in the back area at a high top but it's a great opportunity to enjoy one of their great drinks in the meantime!

We quite literally came here straight from the airport. To make matters worse, we had not eaten anything substantial all day and had actually looked this restaurant up weeks before our trip while researching places to eat the infamous Wisconsin fish fry, so we were really looking forward to the experience. The experience started off poorly when our party was essentially scolded by the hostess for sitting at a table that apparently needed to be cleaned for the wait list. To make matters worse, the busser laughed and joked that we were "in trouble," to which I could only respond, "Sounds like it." Not exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for as a first time visitor. The fish fry was decent our tab came out to $150 for 5 people, but the service was absolutely subpar and our tip reflected that. We also had to send back two drink glasses because they were dirty one still had lipstick on it, and another had food stuck to the inside of the glass. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Between the unprofessional treatment, lackluster service, and cleanliness issues, I would not recommend stopping here. There are plenty of other restaurants worth trying instead.
