It was pretty good. The interior is super cute inside with pretty solid seating if you want a place to do work. The staff were SO nice and friendly. The only reason I am giving them a one star is because I've just learned that the owner is actually shitty and doesn't pay his workers. On the last day they were open, the power went out, the staff were so nice and kindly told everyone they're welcome to stay but they have to close up shop. Later in the day, there's a sign that said it's closed until further notice and employees saying they haven't been paid!!!! Came here on a recent Saturday morning for coffee and a bite. It's a small space and gets very busy. When were were there, there wasn't a single table or seat to be had. No biggie as we just took our coffee and bites to go but something to be mindful of if you're in a group. Their espresso is smooth, clean, robust, and flavorful. I ordered their avo toast which came with a fried egg on top and lightly dressed greens on the side. It was terrific. The bread was rustic and hearty and the dressing on the greens was light and lemony. The service was friendly--they were definitely working hard to get everyone their coffee and bites! We came to Interval for the first time today & it didn't disappoint. The entire shop is really cute, I love their decor & furniture. The menu is fairly standard for drinks, with more food options than I was expecting. It was also nice to be able to sit down & to have our food & drinks brought to us. Seating is fairly limited, but there were definitely rushes & slow periods where more seats were available. My only complaint is the lack of seating & the fact that the tables downstairs spun & were kind of wobbly. It made it hard to cut & eat our food. But the food was so good that it was worth it tbh! I had an oat milk honey latte, & it was really tasty! Definitely not too sweet, but well balanced. I also got the avocado toast, which was surprisingly delicious (I just don't expect such a flavor punch from avocado toast ordinarily). We dropped our car off at a repair shop nearby and made a stop at this coffee shop. The Filter Coffee had no flavoring added, so its taste should reflect the quality of the shop's coffee. The flavor of the coffee was pretty good, although it gave me a little more sourness than I would prefer. The Carrot Cake Latte with almond milk was quite tasty because it presumably contained some syrup that masked the sour taste of the coffee. Since one of us was a bit hungry, we ordered an Evo Toast to share. The taste was pretty good, and the kimchee further enhanced its flavor (although not everyone likes kimchee). We went to Interval on a Sunday around 10:30am and it was busy the whole time (I understand why)! Everyone I was with loved their coffee! I like how a lot of their specialty drinks have oat milk in them. I got one of their specialty drinks that had strawberry infused oat milk and frothed espresso with mocha. It was one of my favorite coffee drinks ever. The prices here are a little crazy (my latte was $8) but after tasting it I thought it was worth it! What a cute coffee shop! I came here to study with a friend on a Sunday, as so many coffee spots in Milwaukee are commonly closed on Sundays, I was happy to see this one open. The inside was spacious with an upstairs area for plenty of seating, including two spots with booths for bigger parties. FOOD: I would like to start off by saying that Interval has some of the best breakfast food I've ever seen in a coffee shop. Their breakfast really helps you charge up for the day. The classic breakfast was amazing. My eggs were perfectly scrambled. The jam paired well with the toast and I'm not even a fan of jam. A solid morning meal can be had here. Thanks to the photo gallery for this place, I had to try the Olive Oil Cake. It was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of thick crusts. From my photo, you can see there's a thick crust over the cake. Once you get past that, the actually cake is very good. Strong olive oil taste. SERVICE: The baristas in Interval are so nice. They bring your drinks and food to you. I had a blast. I sat upstairs so I could get some serious study time in. The workers were pleasant and conversational. AMBIANCE: Interval has great architecture. The building gets flooded with so much natural lighting which is perfect for some sunny day study time. The noise level isn't too loud. You can hear yourself think and have conversation. Local coffee chain that feels like anything but. Super comfortable inside with friendly staff and cozy indoor/outdoor options to chill with company or do some light work/reading. This location really does live up to the company's vision of "...a space for our neighborhood to get together over coffee and food. It's a space for you to feel at home, relax, and collaborate with our great community." The menu is constantly changing/super seasonal and unique, though a little expensive compared to some of the other options in the area, if you're on a breakfast/brunch budget. The interior is bright with lots of natural light coming through the window. I'm sure it's an amazing spot to get some work done, and if I ever find myself in Milwaukee and working, I would definitely come back here! Their is a stairwell leader to an upper level that is a bit more private for those dining in or working. There is also an outdoor space for when the weather is nice! Been looking for a cozy spot to post up and get some work done and Interval let me do so! It's so cute and trendy on the inside! I love the lofted area with booths and tables and the coffee bar that sits plenty! My oat chai latte hit the spot on a snowy January afternoon. My friend got the iced black sesame toffee latte and she said it was great! She got the biscuits and jam which were simply delicious! Soft and flakey and the homemade jam complimented it perfectly. I had the eggy toast with pesto, soft scrambled eggs on a thick cut of sourdough. WOW! It was so good. The little salad that came on the side was alright but I would for sure order this toast again! Interval seems to be suffering from a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a hipster coffee spot or a high-end coffee bar? About a year ago, I would say they were phenomenal. Food portions were reasonable, if not rather generous, and most importantly, delicious. Had a breakfast sandwich today, which I ordered previously, and the portion had shrunk and now there is some weird, smoky and sweet sauce. My eggs were undercooked and the sauce overwhelmed everything else on the sandwich. The accompanying salad also had an overpowering sauce/garnish, which did not complement the sandwich whatsoever. As for the coffee, it was ok, just rather overpriced for what it was. Their "large" is effectively a Starbucks grande, just more expensive with a half pound of ice to give you less coffee per drink. As for service, it was borderline anemic. My table was filthy, with wet and long dried coffee stains all over. I had alerted the staff that my eggs were undercooked, and there was effectively no action taken thereafter. Normally, one would expect that they would offer something else or offer a refund (partial or complete) for an obvious oversight, but this was not something that was built into their customer service model, unfortunately. If you want decent, consistent coffee and breakfast nearby, just go to Alderaan, Fairgrounds, or even Starbucks. I cannot believe I wasted $20 and time waiting for such utter disappointment. read more

I hate that I'm having to write this because I loved the space and drinks when I visited MKE. I even added it to my startup that is a database of the best remote work places around the world AND purchased a $45 sweatshirt. My size was not in stock but they told me they would ship it. A few months ago, I remembered that I had yet to receive the sweatshirt so I messaged them on instagram (they have no phone number) to send them a screenshot of my order number and asking if they could look into it. They replied saying they were getting a new run of shirts the next Monday. Since then i've reached out a couple times a month with messages that they have read but ignored. I even posted a comment on an instagram post of theirs asking if someone could please contact me which they DELETED. I don't know what else to call this besides blatantly stealing from their customers. If they had not seen my messages, I wouldn't be as frustrated but they are literally deleting my attempts to contact them and refusing to resolve this in anyway which is mind blowing. read more

This was our first time at Interval and so glad we came and tried out this new Cafe. The look of the place is simple, minimalist and clean and is so perfect for a calm cup of coffee or a light grub. Grab your favorite book and just relax here. The time we visited, the ambience was very quiet (we were the only ones there) and perfect for a morning coffee. Me and my husband got cappuccino and the Oatmilk Chai, along with Eggy toast and the Lox. The Chai has a cinnamon-pepper taste and that was perfectly spiced and felt amazing in my throat for a cold cold winter morning. The Cappuccino was ok. For some reason it cooled off pretty quickly and only after a couple of sips it was not warm at all. We asked the Barista to heat it up for us if she could but they didn't have a way to do so, so we ended up getting a new one. Unfortunately even the new one cooled off pretty quickly so I am guessing it could be the set temperature of the coffee maker or the frother or something there. The food (salmon lox and Eggy pesto toast) was brilliant! It was fresh and the flavors were amazing. The eggs were cooked to perfection and was soft and delicious. I told my husband the quality of food reminded me of New Zealand where we explored several cafes like this. By the time we left, we saw few other folks come in and it was staring to pick up! This is my new favorite Milwaukee coffee shop. Almost everything is homemade and served in or on American, Midwestern made and stylish cups and plates (if you're dining/drinking in). Some of the best breakfast sandwiches, bread, quiche, and of course, coffee, that I've ever had is served here daily. You have no excuse not to go. Aside from having incredible coffee and cold brew (see other review), Interval has delicious, top-notch pastries. If you've yet to try the pastries or even if you don't think you like bread or pastries, give it a shot! Seriously. The attention and love they put into their bread makes you wonder why you ever purchased other bread in the first place. Their chocolate sourdough and their regular sourdough bread is amazing. For their regular menu offerings, the cardamom bun and the olive oil cake are two favorites. I'm proud to say that since making Milwaukee my home, Interval has become our go-to spot for coffee, pastries, and just general ambience. Claps for Interval (!!) for not only their amazing coffee offerings, but also for how well they've pivoted in regards to new safety precautions. I've always enjoyed this coffee shop. It's in walking distance from where I live so we frequent it for some morning joe. Prior to the pandemic, I would post up inside with a book or my laptop for a few hours at a time. The atmosphere and aesthetic is wonderful. That being said, they're currently only open for carryout and patio seating, which I am happy to enjoy! You can either order ahead online (intervaltogo.com) or order at the front door upon arrival. The location is tucked into a neighborhood so it's peaceful to hangout outside until your name is called. My go-to is an iced latte, which let me tell you... it's the smoothed iced latte around. Something about their espresso and oat milk combo, it's just delicious. My husband normally goes for something on tap. They have nitro infused cold brews that are definitely signature. Be prepared for a real caffeine-kick, though. I've been meaning to try Interval for quite some time, and even 'saved' our first visit for when we had friends in town to impress them! Unfortunately my experience was not as outstanding as I think it could've been. We arrived at 10am on a Sunday morning, 4 of us, hoping for lattes and a good hearty breakfast to start our busy day. It was a little wonky understanding how to get in (tip: use side door), but you do it once and you'd never forget. The outside of the building in incredibly trendy, but fits into the neighborhood perfectly. Loved the little marketplace right inside the door- bulk beans, wines, breads and more! Ordered our lattes, and was a little surprised they don't have caramel syrup?! My friend went the honey route, but we just found it somewhat surprising that wasn't a flavor option. Drinks aside, breakfast was disappointing as we couldn't order anything off of the made to order menu. My friends had read up in advance, and we were stoked to try to Prosciutto Toast, Avo Toast, and Sausage Sammy. Upon ordering, we were told that the kitchen was too backed up, and you could only order pastries. We said we had no qualms with waiting, but were still told it wasn't even an option to order and wait! I can totally understand a super long wait, and I can completely understand if they ran out of something, but I dont understand telling a customer they can't order off an entire section of a menu? I don't think 10am on a Sunday is that late to order breakfast; if it was later in the day I would understand as well, but this left us really disappointed for sure. We all decided to order a pastry instead; the olive oil cake and cardamom bun got rave reviews, but my almond and toffee bun was very dry. Our lattes took a few minutes, but we're very good and the baristas were super personable! While it pains me to give three stars to an establishment, I do think that every experience matters. I've had some great experiences here and some odd ones. Overall great coffee, no almond milk which is a bummer. One of the baristas was singing to the music while taking my order and persisted to sing for the whole store front to hear while my coworker and I sat upstairs to sip our drinks. Amazing. From start to finish this was a really fabulous and unique dining experience. I love the simplicity of the space itself, really clean and nice. Once we got settled, the chef came out and sat at our table (as he does with each and every table!) to review the menu. I'm not going to lie, on my first glance I was a little nervous, but as he went through each menu item, every one sounded better and better. Their menu changes often, so each visit could be truly different from another. We ordered lobster roll, Madeline (subtle mix of cornbread and cookie), Italian beef, and "risotto," (medley of veggies, etc. cooked like risotto). Each dish was insanely unique and really tasty. Would absolutely order each again, but honestly couldn't tell you half the ingredients in them because there were so many flavors. So purely made and certainly not something you could ever whip together at home. To end the night, we got the lemon poppyseed muffins and an oat chai latte. What we felt was already a great meal was made THAT much better. All in all, if this isn't on your list of places to go- update your list. After seeing so many good reviews, we could not wait to go to Interval to try their coffee and food! And it didn't disappoint us! This is a real hipster cafe with lots of white walls, simple, modern and bright interior design, and very nice looking food and drinks. We came in at about 12:20 PM on a weekday for coffee and lunch. The menu was pretty short and straightforward. We ordered the pork belly open faced sandwich (the only meat dish on the lunch food menu), the biscuit with sausage added, and the famous charcoal cappuccino. The service was fast. The biscuit was so good - the sausage was really juicy and packed with flavors, and the raspberry sauce added that nice little touch of sweetness. The sandwich was something that really surprised me, as the pork was super tender and kind of salty - somehow it tasted like a very famous Chinese dish. I didn't like it as much as my boyfriend did just because I don't usually eat very oily food. The cappuccino looked super pretty but tasted kind of light. Personally, I am looking for stronger and richer espresso with more texture and sweetness in the foam for a perfect cup of cappuccino. I adored the old Pleasant Cafe, so I was excited to see this place re-opened. Interval is a beautiful space. They kept my favorite nooks from Pleasant Cafe and cleaned up some of the interior, making it more modern. The staff were extremely kind and friendly. Such a nice day out and the outdoor set up was clean and COVID friendly. They have a few tables lining the outside of their store. They have one way traffic so you can go in and out their store to order food which they bring out to you shortly after. It could have just been today, but the gnocchi and lox bowl was really salty in our opinion and we couldn't finish all of it. The biscuit was bomb though and we wish we had gotten more of those! All the employees were super friendly and we witnessed multiple times where they offered to take people's plate even though it is a self serve type of area. I'm highlighting this corner coffeeshop as the first post on this shiny new Instagram account, because it's been one of the most consistently excellent sources of high-quality and interesting fare in Milwaukee. Though, first I'll say their pour over coffee is unbeatable. And I can't recommend their homemade Smoked Pumpkin Spice Latte enough during this fall season: smooth, subtly sweet, and perfectly spiced with a kick from the espresso we all need while we're getting used to the cooler weather. And while it's a super small place, and most times you'll probably just get some joe to go, you'll really appreciate your few seconds of interaction with the employee who meets you at the door. Everyone I've talked with at Interval shines with warmth, and it's not just the warm cups of delicious coffee drinks they're serving either. It's their passion, their personality... and the rotating spread of delicious food they're serving up. Scandinavian-inspired and locally sourced ingredients artistically piled atop fresh rye sourdough and almost always topped with edible flowers. Their tartines are filling and flavorful: recognizable ingredients like avocado and poached egg paired with surprising flavors like chive oil, birch syrup, and fermented plum?! Yum. They make seasonal flavors shine in unexpected ways, and their weekly specials are honestly some of the most exciting parts of life during the covid-19 pandemic. Our first time here was a great experience. We decided to come back after a few months and can tell the quality & portion of food has dramatically decreased. The biscuits were rock hard and dry as dirt. The breakfast Sammy was dry, the scant amount of eggs were terribly overcooked (almost burnt). Clearly we were not the only ones to notice this, the worker himself said he had a new hire & would have the eggs remade & brought up. However, I just don't see the point of bringing out food you're not proud to serve. These things should be fixed prior to serving. BTW, he never brought the "remade eggs."
