I noticed a couple shelves with items for sale, likely from local small businesses. It can get really loud in here, which is to be expected with the high ceiling and large open area. Unfortunately that also means it can be difficult to have a conversation with people at your table. I chose to visit for lunch since I was in the mood for something light and new to me. What I did not expect was to leave still hungry. I ordered the equivalent of a caprese sandwich, however the tomato slices were so thin, the cheese sparse, and the pesto was almost nonexistent - if not for the green stain on the bread, I'd have thought they forgot to even add it. Definitely not a sandwich worthy of the $13 price tag. No complaints on the drinks. I wouldn't mind stopping in again sometime for coffee, but if you're hungry for more than a bakery case item, you may wish to go elsewhere.

Having mugs to serve drinks in is always a good thing, and this time they got that right too. They had a bunch of different muffin options, and they were all gluten-free. I have to admit that the coffee cake muffin was pretty good. But my first choice would still be to have a non-gluten-free scone option. Service: Super friendly service. I did mention my interest in a scone, and they didn't get defensive about it. Instead, they suggested that I might like one of their gluten-free choices. I did tell them that, for a muffin, it was pretty good, and they seemed pleased with that. Atmosphere: It was sunny and relatively quiet inside. A good spot to relax. I wouldn't mind coming back. I would just need to adjust my expectations when it comes to the bakery item choices.

There is a little free library and boardgames you can play while you enjoy your coffee or sandwich. They use Anodyne beans for their coffee and they make simple, fresh sandwiches. I went with the Trike - Deli style chicken, pepper jack cheese, with a spicy aioli chipotle sauce on a ciabatta bun. Simple and delicious. Service was good as well. A nice homey cafe where you can post up and work, catch up with a friend or come alone and cozy up with a book for awhile.

The bakery case some unique items that you might not find in other places. I got a piece of Chai Masala Coffee Cake. It was moist, flavorful, and was a generous portion. It also had a nice brown sugar crunchy top. It was a good experience, but leaning more towards a Cafe and Merch shop, and less than a traditional coffee shop.

Since my first review, I've been back several times. Unfortunately, they no longer seem able to…read moremake a respectable latte. What you now get for a London Fog Tea Latte is a drink with some dry foam on top and warm, flat milk underneath. Because I know they used to make these correctly, I took my drink back and asked about it. Long story short, they have replaced their original machines with manual steam wands and switched to "new and improved" machines that use automatic steaming. You place the wand in the milk, push a button, and voilà... a cup of lifeless hot milk. Dry foam on top, little to no texture below. It's fast, and I can see how it works well for a drive-through model. But it's a real disappointment for anyone who appreciates a properly textured latte with that smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Even with these machines, better texture is possible, but it takes more time and attention. When speed becomes the priority, quality is usually what suffers. The one consolation is that their Coffee Cake Muffins are still amazing.
