Stopped in for the first time. Right as they opened at 8am. The place is a little odd, but charming at the same time. It's a converted barn, and from the outside you might actually think that it's still being used. There is parking behind the barn, and some seating outside. (posted signs about Bees, and some places are off limits, but I didn't see any beehives?) The lower level of the barn had been converted/remodeled into a small restaurant space. There are several wooden tables. What is so very suprising was the large selection of home made bakery and pastry items. They all looked fresh and LARGE. I love a good scone, which they had, but they also had a selection of different coffee cakes, and cinnamon rolls. It was a tough choice but I ended up getting the Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake. They also made me a Chai Latte, in a mug. A was a great combination. The coffee cake was a little dry/crumbly (which I like), so it paired well with the hot chai. The place was busy. And from the sound of it, there were lots of regulars. That's always a good sign. Some people ordered breakfast and egg dishes. They all looked goo. It's a nice place, with nice folks, and excellent baked good. I would have preferred a bit more inside seating, but they are working with limited space. The outside could benefit from some better landscaping, and seating areas. read more

I'm almost afraid to post because this place is a hidden little gem and I want to keep it that way! They are so lovely and the owners are a family. They are always welcome and you can tell many people that come here are regulars. They don't have a ton of seating but some outdoor as well. The food is from scratch deliciousness for sure. Many options. The bakery is amazing. I've never had anything that doesn't just hit all the spots of sweetness. You get a lot of food for the price too. Wonderful little family run place off the beaten path. It feels like walking into Great Grandma's kitchen. Fantastic food, friendly service. Tables are shared, we enjoyed the young people sitting with us - they'd been coming there since the place opened in 2015, when they were in high school. We had breakfast; the burrito and a skillet, and we shared the Door County cherry and cream cheese stuffed French toast. By the time we left, that French toast wasn't the only thing stuffed! The coffee was good - lots of specialty coffees to try for next time. We took the young man's recommendation and got the pecan cheesecake bar, and some scones to go. Worth the visit! read more

I'm from out of town visiting my parents and this shop was close by so I stopped in to grab some pastries and coffee for my family. I got there a few minutes before 8am, so I waited in my car until they opened. When I walked in, I immediately felt like I wasn't welcome. There was man running the counter and a lady opening boxes. The man said hi but almost like I was inconveniencing him. A lot of the pastries didn't have signs with names on them so I had to ask him what they were and he made me feel like I was dumb for asking. Our whole interaction was unpleasant and he came off as very rude. My mom had been there a few times before, so I asked her about it and she said that he had been rude to her before too but she thinks he's just not a morning person because there were other times when he wasn't rude. The lady in there was nice; after a few minutes of standing there waiting for my coffee, she made small talk with me. The pastries were good and reasonably priced. The shop was very charming and cute. It would be a nice place to sit outside with a friend. read more

I don't know how many times I've driven by this place on my way to Mukwonago and have said, I'd like to stop in. It is a barn with a sign, "The Coffee Talk Bakery" on the side. From the road, it is difficult to see if it is open. I assumed it was a bakery business. A friend suggested we meet there as it is in between both of our locations. When I drove up and parked in the back, I was shocked to find how neat and well kept everything was from the outside and to see large windows in back. A nice newer patio in back overlooking a field and trees offers outdoor seating (always a plus in Wisconsin). I walked in and was amazed at the renovation of the barn and how quaint, rustic but so up to date (if that makes any sense) with a nice display of their bakery, all baked in house by Jennifer and Scott Anderson. Talking a bit to Jennifer, who was sitting at a table doing some crafts, I asked her how long they have been in business. Two years but it seems like I've driven by them for 5 or more years. I asked about their menu. They serve mostly breakfast and soups and sandwiches for lunch. I asked about gluten free options, but she said it is difficult with cross contamination, but there are options without gluten such as egg dishes. My friend and I came here for coffee, so I ordered my coffee (Kona) and a cherry scone. The scone was rather large, lets just say about the size of a typical hamburger. It was very moist. Most scones I get are rather dry and crumbly. This was one of the best scones I have had. The coffee was good (16 oz size). Both of those came to $5 and change. Wow, great value. Very good service, friendly and efficient. As we sat there for awhile, there was constant flow of customers. Now, I didn't sample their food for breakfast or lunch, but plan to be back. There is limited seating but it is such a neat place if you are looking for something that isn't the sterile corporate, overcrowded, accident to happen in the parking lot coffee house that ends with buck in the name (but I'm guilty of going there 3+ times a week). If you have a convertible or just want a nice drive away from the city, take a drive out to visit The Coffee Talk Bakery and relax with a coffee, scone and turn off your smart phone while your at it and have a conversation with someone. You'll like it... bookmark it! I'll update my review after more visits and a sample of their other food items. read more

If you're looking for bakery, this is the place to be!! I'm usually not one for fruity desserts (typically I go for rich, chocolate), but the strawberry rhubarb bar is to die for!! I can't wait to go back and try more...my sweet tooth is begging! They also have savory bakery like scones and quiche. I've tried one sandwich (turkey) and it was very good! If I remember correctly, the lunch menu isn't huge, but all the options were diverse and looked amazing; and it seems that everything has a homemade touch. There are also other goodies you can take home like pretzels and jams/jellies. I purchased a cherry moscato jelly that I like to pair with crackers. Super sweet, but so good! Coffee was decent; that's the only thing that's misleading about the place. I would change the title to just focus more on the bakery since its amazing! I once asked for an iced honey latte and they weren't quite sure what to do. The atmosphere is also adorable and comfortable set in the red barn! So cozy! Will definitely come often :) read more

Absolutely love this place! Every time my boyfriend and I come into town Coffee Talk is a place we MUST stop. The food is all homemade by the owner and is so delicious. We always buy a few jars of their amazing jam to bring home with us. I love the atmosphere of the bakery and the owners are so sweet and social, they always remember us when we come in and make it a point to catch up and talk. Love this great breakfast/lunch place in a remodeled old red barn. Delicious made from scratch bakery, eggs, French toast, buttermilk pancakes, paninis, and coffee and espresso drinks. Homemade jams and jellies for sale too. The owner is very friendly and always comes out to see if everything is ok. I've been here about 4 times and will be back!! Cool little barn coffee shop that offers some delicious baked goods and great coffee. I really enjoyed the breakfast Panini that I had. Seating inside is pretty minimum as there are about 4 tables , but it was not crowded when I was there so not an issue. It also appeared to have some outdoor seating. Employees seemed polite and helpful. I will be stopping in to get my morning coffee on my way to work from now on. read more
