This was a experience I won't soon forget...or until I can get someone ELSE to redo the look of my M&M gel nails. One of the reasons I love having gel nails is that they make my own nails look wonderful. Not this time. I came in on a busy Saturday afternoon and received quality service. Originally, I came to get a full set of Gel Nails but had seen they do SNS (signature nail system) and opted for that. The nail tech, Anna, informed me of the process. Although, not much of a conversationalist she provided beverage options promptly. No other services were pressed upon me, as other nail salons do. The best part is the professionalism of the establishment. I didn't give five stars because I need to see how my nails hold up. This place is highly recommended. read more

I visited this salon twice while taking a few classes in NC. The first experience was for a mani/pedi. A guy took care of me and it was a great experience. He did an excellent job on both. I got a gel and something new they offer instead of gel. Sorry I don't remember the name of it, but it was supposed to be healthier than acrylics. It was very nice and held up well for a few weeks. The pedi was thorough and relaxing. I was studying/reading during the pedi and felt very relaxed. He didn't force me to talk, just asked what I was studying. During the mani, he talked more and I wanted to listen more than talk. He did a skillful and efficient job. The 2nd visit, I got a woman, who insisted that I talk. She barely spoke english and did an unimpressive french mani. I had to return for a repair 2 days later. I was under a tight study schedule, so I was not pleased. They fixed it without charge, but I would be very selective about who does service. I chose not to try a 3rd visit. read more

I had a fabulous pedicure experience here today. Ly was wonderful, top notch customer service. She demonstrated this when she kindly accommodated my request to move to another chair because the lady I was going to be sitting next to was yaking on her phone. She spent alot of time scrubbing and moisturizing which I really love. It took close to 45 minutes which I love also because I do not want to rush when I go for a service like this. Don't bother to wait if they are busy. I walked in before 3:00 and waited until 4:15 for a pedicure. They were clearly very busy, but after waiting for over an hour, I expected quality service. I even paid for an upgrade listed as a 40 minute pedicure, but my pedicure was done in 20 minutes. This was an unfortunate waste of a beautiful afternoon. read more

I have been coming here for probably 7 or 8 years now, and have no reason to look elsewhere. I am always met with great service, and will always receive a solid manicure/pedicure. Obviously some technicians are better than others, as is the case with most nail salons, but at the very minimum, I always walk out with a good manicure/pedicure. Something to note: as a self-proclaimed beauty addict, I am always looking to try the next trend. After hearing about SNS nails, and seeing that Mimi's offered SNS, I was excited to try it before heading on a two-week long vacation, so that I wouldn't have to worry about bringing nail polish with me on the trip. I went with my mom, and we both wanted to get a color, rather than a french manicure with SNS (this is not an abnormal request at other salons that offer SNS or dip gel). When we sat down in the chair and said what colors we wanted, our technicians seemed positively baffled. After speaking to each other for a few moments, they returned to our manicure. This should have been the first red flag. They proceeded to go through the dip base procedure, and then applied a gel polish on top of the base (like Shellac or Gelish). While this did not end up really being an issue, if you know anything about SNS or dip manicures, you know that this is not typical procedure. Typically, the salon will have colored powders that end up creating the desired look. When we got back from vacation and went to Mimi's to have our "SNS" manicures taken off, we explained what we had on our nails, and again they seemed baffled. Luckily, the man that had given my mom her manicure was there and could explain to my technician what the situation was. When removing the nails, they seemed like they were conducting the procedure on the fly. Another red flag. My nails underneath are by no means destroyed, but are definitely rougher than when I walked into the salon a few weeks ago--whether that is par for the course with SNS, or because of Mimi's confusion, I don't know Moral of the story: you can expect a lovely experience at Mimi for a basic manicure/pedicure, as well as gel polish, but if you're looking for a salon for SNS, look elsewhere. read more

I was looking forward to a relaxing manicure and pedicure after a long week. That was not what I got when I went to Mimi's. My technician rushed the whole time so it was not only not worth what I paid but also a stressful experience. I've gotten hundreds of manicures and pedicures and this is one of the worst. She spent a few seconds scrubbing and massaging my feet/legs with very little effort. Everyone knows that's the best part of the pedicure so I was very disappointed. She also rushed taking off my polish and accidentally splashed acetone on me. She then procedeed to rush through the manicure making my gel times 45 seconds versus the standard 60. This will be the last time I visit Mimi's and spend my hard earned money for a rushed, subpar mani/pedi read more

Will not go back. Somehow my normal $35 gel nails at my regular salon was $50 here and has already chipped and broken in the 5 days I have had it. Don't even want to bother to go back and get them fixed. Very disappointed. read more

It was OK. Not overly friendly staff. Honestly, my nails were in horrible shape and I needed cuticles to be cleaned up. When I left, they looked only slightly better. Wish I had gone somewhere else. read more

I am very disappointed with this salon. I have gone here for years and yesterday was the first time I got gel. I pick out a color that they had on display. On the chip where it shows the color it was a very dark pink. When they put it on it was almost nude. I asked if they could make it darker and they said that would cost another 30$. most salons put a scrub and lotion on, but all she did was a tiny bit of lotion. my nails still have dirt on the surface which left me with nails that are bumpy. read more

OK Ladies just to say , dont bother to go somewhere that they dont listen to you, if you ask for a nail color that it appears that they offer - they should have just told me that they were out of it, Dont fake it then charge me more because you had to do extra to make it sorta like I asked. I have been getting my manicures done here for about 5 years and have a regular technician that I almost always see. I will say that everyone I've had manicures from is great (i always get gel polish PS). I usually call ahead to make appointments but even when I walk in without scheduling anything, I've never waited more than 5ish minutes. The prices are a tad high, but no one gives cheap manicures that are actually good anymore (especially with gel), so I'm willing to pay for the quality. And as with most other places, they offer you free drinks including soda and wine. They are constantly upgrading the polishes and equipment they use for gel manicures, which I'm neutral about. On one hand it's nice to see they are staying current and keeping things new but on the other hand, it's unclear if they are changing things because they haven't found a single process that works really well. Regardless, the finish and staying power of my gel manicures are good enough to keep me coming back :) read more
