Upon entrance is a doorman who is so friendly and accommodating! He found us an open table and checked on us throughout the night. The place was packed and they only had maybe 5 or 6 employees so the service was a little slow but understandable. I think the longest wait was about 20 minutes when we were waiting to get our initial drink order taken, but everything after that was fairly quick. For drinks I got a thin mint martini because they were out of the chocolate reuge martini I wanted. It was so yummy and came with 3 thin mint cookies. My mom got a pistachio martini and the Jefferson Tea. Both were pretty good but I wouldn't order again. My dad got Dead Mans Redemption which is good if you like bourbon. It comes with a wood topper and they light it on fire, let smoke fill in the drink, and then take the wood off. The drink then has notes of smoked wood in it which is cool. For food we got the crispy spring rolls and pepperoni flatbread. Both were so good!!!! It was absolutely worth the wait!!! I could eat the whole flatbread myself it was that good and I can't wait to go back and get another one. The crowd is definitely much older, not a lot of younger people around. It's a good date night for married couples. Overall it was a nice place and I would come back.

Immediately put off by pushy bartender pushing high end drinks. I love high end drinks... don't try to handle me. Settled down. Enjoyed my specific cocktail... have huge history here...met my wife here 26 years ago!! They comped us a creme brulee... one of the best I've ever had. Met "Swan"... their security detail. Great guy! We will go back.

Its charm--that…read morewhimsical, old farmhouse layout with all the winding, rambling rooms and cozy nooks makes it feel completely detached from the usual busy corridor right off Route 2. Between the cozy tavern space, the great craft drink menu, and that distinct "hidden retreat" vibe, it really turns a standard dinner into an experience. It's the kind of place where you can easily get lost in conversation while exploring a great menu. The service was great and the staff are very attentive. there's plenty of parking but the lot gets full by early evening as the restaurant is popular.

They even let the flower company come in before I got there and set up all of the flower displays and bouquets for my birthday, which made everything feel so special. The staff was absolutely amazing, respectful, and so accommodating. They really will do anything they can within reason to make sure you have a great experience. The menu definitely has more of a Mediterranean feel, which personally isn't my favorite type of food, but they were still super accommodating to what I wanted and needed. And the drinks are STRONG definitely not stingy with those! Between the atmosphere, the staff, and how accommodating they were for my birthday, I would absolutely go back. Such a cool place for a special occasion!

I got the Big Ol' Burger and it was so good. Cooked perfectly, the special sauce was delicious and as you can probably tell from the photo, the fries were exactly what I was looking for. Everything tastes really fresh here. It has that farm-to-table quality, but in a relaxed, laid-back (but still really pretty) setting. We came for lunch and I loved that they had brunch options too. We didn't get any adult beverages but I was very tempted by the entire drink menu, so next time! Our service was also outstanding. Really everything was A+. Definitely a local spot that I need to remember to go to more often.

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.
