I don't get it. Coquitlam's Milestone's used to be the best out of the chain - now I would go to Milestone's, just not the one in Coquitlam. I have eaten at milestones a thousand times. Eggs Benny with curly fries all the time. They were really busy and my Eggs Benny took quite a while to be served and when I received it they were stone cold. I complained and management paid for my lunch. Let's face it, everyone has problems but it's how you deal with it that makes the difference. It was cold but it still tasted great. Even better when I was comp'd the meal. read more

Was craving a Bellini so went here for dinner. They have a new Ladies Night menu that I will be returning to try. I ordered the seafood pasta, portion size is ok. My spouse had the Salmon which looked a lot better than mine with the mango salsa on top. Milestones is a safe bet, you can't go wrong. I would like to see some new combinations on the menu. Been seeing most of the same items for last couple years. Wasn't a fan of the Thai wings, but you can never go wrong with the spinach dip or the sweet chilli chicken. read more

I was out in suburbia this week for work and came here for dinner with a group. It's typical of the Milestone's chains - decent service but the hostess wasn't that great. Lots of parking and they're running a few promotions again for the summer that are pretty good deals (e.g. 4 drinks, 4 appys for $40). It's a safe chain if you have a group of people who have different tastes. We shared some tortillas with hot artichoke dip and pitas to start, then I had a green salad with goat cheese and their butternut squash ravioli. We shared a couple of cheesecakes and chocolate cakes to finish. Overall good value for the price. My only major complaint is that it's pretty loud, especially on the upper floor. read more

They're a quick and easy brunch option, with the California benedict being my fave. I used to love dinners there as well but this location is really blah for ambience. It's quite rundown, although they're currently renovating the last time I drove by so can't wait to see what that's about. Nice, spacious neighbourhood restaurant. I can't get enough of the Ibarra chocolate cake, which interestingly, is one of their "good calorie" desserts when I last checked out nutritional info on their website. Was here for a friends birthday, there was over 25 of us. We were served right away with the drink menu. I ordered a caesar, extra spicy and they did give you a cucumber, pepper and olive for garnish I loved it!!. The appys are over rated. I didnt even take pics of it because of how lame they were. I ordered the three cheese focaccia bread, it didn't not come with vinegar or balsamic vinaigrette but with some cream sauce. The calamari was weird and not your typical tentacle or mini onion ring shaped calamari. Then to top it off the have their belini in a mini fish bowl and this was a hit for myself! I love the locations in Burnaby and the Coquitlam 'cause the food's great, service is polite and it's near work (Gagliardi area). My sis tried the chicken portobello,regianno over capellini, basil, garlic, chicken all on a portobello,very good. I decided to go for a cow, so I chose the slow roasted AAA prime rib, crusted with au jus. It wasn't bad, but I had to have it with a side of sauteed portobello and button mushrooms just to add a little fungus on the bovine...yum. Milestone's is routinely mentioned in the same breath as other, similar restaurants in the area (The Keg, Earl's, Cactus Club), and that's fair - if you want drinks, appetizers, a gourmet burger, a good steak, premium fish, a fancy salad, etc. - they'll all do you right. This particular Milestone's is very good. Very consistent. The waitstaff deserve five stars. The food deserves 4.5 stars. If I could give the overall score 4.5 stars, I would. Milestone's is pricey. But that's okay. I've been there a dozen times, and I was satisfied with the value for the price every time. Just don't expect to spend less than $25 per person when not drinking alcohol. I can't wait to go there again. I've never left dissastisfied. read more

UPDATE: Mar 26/18-I was contacted by management from Milestones and was given a $25 to give them another chance. After a bit of coaxing from a friend, I gave in and tried them again. Food was delicious and service was great. The women's bathroom soap dispenser, fixed! So, you can only go upwards from here Milestones! Haven't been to Milestones in years and after tonight's experience i don't think I'll have a reason to again anytime soon. We waited half an hour just to get our starter, the Asiago dip. We thought it was odd we didn't have napkins or cutlery but it was chips and dip and at least we had side plates. Server later came with two out of our three mains and then whisked away before we realized we were still missing cutlery. We were waiting and waiting for our last main to come, meanwhile my 2-year old is throwing a hangry fit and I don't have any cutlery to help cut her food for her. We flag someone else down because our server is taking forever. Finally we get our cutlery and after more waiting our server comes back with my wife's sweet chili chicken bowl. It's a bunch of overbattered deep fried chicken with no veggies except a few thin carrot strips. But just in case you wanted more deep fried goodness they throw in a bunch of deep fried wontons. Look, deep fried stuff can be nice but when you order a rice bowl you expect at least to have it balanced out with some nice veggies not just a mound of deep fried stuff on rice. My pesto pasta was also overpriced and only tiny specks of chicken. Waitress didn't know what she was doing and gave us wrong bill at the end of the meal. Also when I told her about our cutlery woes she said "oh, they should've been on the table to start with." Well you should've noticed they were not... Bottom line: overpriced, mediocore if not poor food and bad service and management. Won't be back period. read more

Even when it came to paying, she didn't ask us anything. Left us with the credit card machine and came later to pick it up. Is place is beginning it's fall into mediocrity. The salad: a chicken Cesar salad was absolutely terrible. Just one type of leafy green, which I believe was romain lettuce. It looked and tasted like a salad I'd make at home, I should mention I'm not a cook! The washroom (men's room) was less than what I would expect at an eatery, at least in my, akin to a place like The Keg. The paper towels were wet, there was rust on so,e of the pipes. It just felt like the place was less than what it could have been. I suppose it's not much of a surprise that the place didn't have amazing food, but Im disappointed that the place was also begging to loose the quality it ounce had (in the early 2000's). Love the food and my all time favourite is their ahi tuna salad, it is heaven. Sometimes in the summer they have specials like mini burgers and let me tell you their specials are pretty special so try them if you can. Good atmosphere although some might not be too used to the dim lights. Great staffs and good desserts too! Totally recommend milestones and lots of parking space, near bus stops, walking distance, and reasonable price range! read more

Milestones on Barnett Hwy in Coquitlam had been our go to for years when we lived in the neighbourhood. Revisited tonight to see if things had changed. Still really popular and the staff were run off their feet. We started off with a drink at the bar waiting for our table. Admittedly the barman was not what we are used to and seemed a little distracted. Our meal turned out fine but I am writing this review on account of the guest service manager, Amit Sing, who I must single out for his excellent customer service and professionalism. I was very disappointed with my recent visit to restaurant. Price were on high side. Fries were good but nothing special about meals. Server wasn't very attentive. I think he could have been trained with a bit of effort. After acknowledging more coffee was needed for 2 customers, he promptly went away and forgot it! Our family has been eating at this Milestones since it opened. We have always been able to count on consistently good food. Not anymore. Five of us went last night and only 1 of us was happy with the food. Three of us had prime rib...there was so much fat on it that about a third of it was inedible. I ordered the pasta with "smoky bacon, chicken, and carbonara sauce." It was virtually tasteless...no bacon in sight, and the pieces of chicken, the few that were there, were tiny..oh, except for the chicken bone that I had the pleasure of biting into. The manager was apologetic, and took 2 of the prime ribs off of the bill, however, he proceeded to tell us about another meat problem they had a month ago. Uh, are you trying to make us feel better or worse? He then offered to buy all of us dessert, which we declined and he brought anyway. Sigh. This restaurant is clearly under new ownership, which we later confirmed with staff, and it has NOT been a positive change. Not a chance in hell we will go back. We will drive the extra 8 minutes to Earls in Port Coquiltam, which ALWAYS has great food. (by the way, this is not the only Milestones that seems to be struggling with change...have they gone from a coporate model to a franchise model? That might explain it.) read more

Let me explain..still had forks and knives in hand and the waitress drops off the menu with her recommendation for dessert. I still was chewing chicken, don't want to think about the dessert. I regular Milestones with my two year old daughter. I love that the kids menu has a grilled chicken dinner, which I order with the rice and green beans, so I have a more healthy option to choose for her rather than mostly fried food like at a lot of these restaurant chains. The service is always great and the food always arrives to order and in a timely manner. For me, I return because of the healthier choices on the kids menu. I find that to be the most difficult part when dining with a toddler and worrying about their nutritional needs. A wide variety of dishes on the menu makes this a great place for someone like myself who happens to be pretty indecisive about food. Overall, I wasn't very happy with my choice to go here. I honestly wanted to like they place; the atmosphere was nice and the server was friendly and attentive, but the food was really sub par. The appetizer was alright (goat cheese platter) but for the main course I had the crispy chicken sandwich and I wasn't impressed with its preparation. Brunch today service was good, but my meal was very poor. Ordered prime rib hash with two poached eggs. There wasn't enough meat in the dish to fill one fork. The dish was 90% potatoes. with two poached eggs which is poor value for $16.50. I have had this dish several times in the past and it was good, but they appear to be on a cost control kick and have virtually eliminated the meat. I won' be back. My family and I have gone to this Milestones many times (having lived in Coquitlam for most of our lives) and the service and quality of food is getting worse. Recently, the restaurant switched management. We went there in late December 2014 and when the restaurant wasn't even busy and had the worst service. First of all, we stood at the "please wait to be seated" area for almost 10 minutes and had to go into the restaurant to find someone to seat us. This has never happened before. Once we got our food we noticed that the iceberg lettuce in the salad was browning. And not just one piece - almost half the salad was brown. The waitress, once we showed her, offered to get another salad but it was just so unappetizing that we didn't want one. One of the sandwiches our table ordered had a giant piece of chicken with flavourless breading that was pretty inedible. We were given one drink each and were not asked if we wanted any refills - not even for water! They ended up covering the sandwich on the bill but did nothing about the salad. It's safe to say we were disappointed about this visit. In the past, the service here had been great and there and the servers were friendly and present and checked in regularly. After noticing the service getting worse and worse and finally after this experience, we will not be returning to this Milestones. read more
