Excellent for large groups or if you're alone & just want to hangout at the bar & watch the hockey game or other. Our waitress was wonderful & pleasant. The decor, lighting & seating are all on point. We ordered a couple of pizzas, a salad & a burger. The food was very good. LK uses whole wheat flour for their pizzas. Liberty kitchen in langford gives you a social bar vibe. We visited on a weekday evening and it was pretty full. Our server talia was sweet and the place is huge and super chic. We tried the burrata and tomatoes, truffle mushroom pizza and limonchello. The food was good but i wished they gave bigger chunk of burrata for the price but it was delicious with great italian flavours. Came here knowing nothing about the restaurant and hadn't looked it up, was driving by and decided to try it for dinner. Service was a disappointment as we told the host stand due to an injury, I had to sit on a regular chair, not the barstools or wicker chairs in half of the space. After a short wait, we were walked over to a table with wicker chairs. I tried it and couldn't stand it, so when the waitress came over, we explained we were going to get an order to go. She put the order in and it came out fast, which we really appreciated, and she apologized for the mix up with the host. We took the food to our hotel which was 5 minutes away. Not impressed. Their version of chicken parmesan is not the traditional item, and it's my problem I didn't pay attention to this, but it didn't taste good. They make the chicken cutlet but put jalepeno sauce on it and instead of spaghetti, they served rigtoni with alfredo. Tasted like it was missing salt and any kind of herbs. Friend had their spicy chicken sandwich which he said was ok but forgettable. Would try other dishes at the restaurant in the future if I was in the area. read more

We used to Yelp app to get a "reservation" but if you call them their automated message says you can't make a reservation. When we arrived last weekend we were laughed at for not having booked a table. Very confusing. Anyways, used the service to get "in line". I appreciate the service!! Easy to use and appreciated the alert me closer to when I want to arrive for the window to be available function. We ordered drinks and a soup. The soup arrived about 10 minutes before our drinks. I'm a big tomato soup fan and it was acidic and runny. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I appreciated the garlic toast wasn't an additional fee. Mains was the $24 Nonas lasagna ( be sure we haven't sold out! ) which did not include garlic toast. I spent an extra $3.25 for two small pieces of bread. It was bland. They did not offer fresh cheese or pepper. I asked for both and it took 15 minutes for both to arrive. Hubby got a chicken burger. It looked epic and no complaints on the flavour but more batter than chicken. The wedges were phenomenal. For the triple digit price tag I wouldn't say it was a waste... but I'm not sure it was up to my expectations. And I also find it really weird they don't seem to have a single sprinkler in the whole building. read more

Liberty Kitchen started out strong, but quickly went down hill. The service is really bad. The food is not as good as it was. And definitely do not order online from them. They tend to forget important things, like the chicken in a chicken Alfredo. The pasta is pretty well on par with Chef Boyardee canned pasta. Highly recommend avoiding this place. read more

Our server Logan was amazing. His recommendation for whiskey sour was top notch. The food we are at a 50/50 split. Appetizer of ribs was amazing. Dinner hubby had Cajun chicken rigatoni and he loved it. Dinner I had salmon poke bowl and I would not reorder. So disappointed :( Gluten free pizza wasn't cooked nicely on the bottom, crust not tasty. Meatballs were bland. My husband's lasagna was "ok." Not much for a kids menu. Our meals took so long, I had to take my littlest one out to the car & through the A&W drive through :( It's very nice inside but super loud. I was so excited for Liberty Kitchen to open - while the food is pretty standard "chain" food, the building is really what had me excited! Their "patio" area in the front has MASSIVE windows wrapped all the way around it, with huge overhead heaters to keep you warm. It looks like the windows also will open in the summertime, which I'm excited for. There aren't many places with great patio areas and good vibes in Langford, so this was an exciting addition to the town. Service is about the same that you'd expect at any Browns/Cactus Club/etc. Menu is as well. Their late night happy hour is pretty decent as well. Haven't had much issue getting in for a table, though if you go around dinnertime/evening you can definitely expect to wait a bit. read more

Having to wait long times for basic service, then when food does come the pasta is bland. The staff have had lots of turnover which doesn't attract the locals who actually know the staff. And, why are they having staff meetings in the middle of the restaurant while people are dining, don't they have an office or meeting room? I suspect it was not a good memory for that employee and this is definitely not professional, then again, things like that could explain the high staff turnover already mentioned in previous review. read more

Food was okay as was service. However music was too loud and was very difficult to have a conversation or even order food. I had to repeatedly ask the server to repeat as I had a hard time hearing. When I asked manager if they could turn music down slightly, they said sure, but never did. I was later told that they had to leave it as it was. Went for dinner with two friends. There was a wait, about 15-20 mins but it was Friday night and at 5:30pm when we got there. The hostesses and servers were super friendly. Our drinks came quickly as did our food. One of my friends had the salmon poke bowl. They were happy to cook the salmon for her. The rice wasn't fully cooked but the server quickly took it back and a new bowl was prepared for her and was perfect. Her entree was comped and they apologized for the error. Great location, great layout, well organized, new and trendy. Service is average, probably better at non peak hours, though initial seating and ordering was pleasant and efficient. No table reservations are accepted unless it's a large group at the higher table top tables. We used the Yelp app which was sufficient for my spouse and myself. The menu selection is typical for these establishments with the only exception being the pizza pies which appeared to have an air of exclusivity and ingredient selection. I wish I'd given one a try. As it was I ordered the full rack of ribs and was totally underwhelmed. Though, it did look good on the plate. Hate it when that happens. Certainly no value for the price with just okay wedge fries and a finely shaved coleslaw meagrely plated. Portions are stingy. My wife had the Teriyaki Bowl which she indicated was pretty good, with nice flavour and great texture - with an interesting ginger rice. She did have to dig for the 7 small pieces of chicken. She added blackened avocado - unknowingly and fortunately bulking up the portions. The atmosphere was lively with the chef issuing robust outburst from the open kitchen as pizza pies were completed. We decided to forgo desert not wanting to hand over any more money after weighing the value of what this restaurant offered. I really think these social gathering style restaurants are better suited to group activities involving good company and drinks - and much less about the culinary experience. read more

So when it comes to the food is a 4star... maybe a bigger menu would be good. but as a local and knowing some staff seems the service is lacking. The great staff either still remaining or have left made that place more friendly and comfortable like a local establishment should. But with the current GM who is forcing those to quit and move on to other places its making the atmosphere unstable and new faces and servers and bar staff is a part of what brings back locals and others to Liberty often. I think the owners Scott and Brad need to look at the cause or source of this mass turnover these past 8-9 months and with more leaving in the near months it's sad to see turnover not cause the place is bad but cause of a GM not liking to "A" staffers that actually bring in the regular business. read more

Very under whelmed. Ordered 1/2 rack of fall off the bones pork ribs. Definitely NOT fall off the bones tender. Barely any meat and was dry and had to use a knife and fork to remove meat from bone. Slaw was very meager in taste and portion, and wedge fries were soft and soggy. We were a table of four people in the 60 to 70 year old age range. None of us were unfamiliar to eating out and we were booked in in for 12:30pm Sunday lunch together. The room was predictable but over all , nicely done. Like all restaurants these days it was uncomfortably noisy due to solid floors rather than expensive to clean carpets but I digress.... The food was ok insofar as a burger and fries was edible, as was the half rack of ribs. Also ordered were two pizzas, one was flavourless, the other flavoursome (each to their own), but both were very tough to cut through. At this point I was happy enough with the service (mediocre), the food (mediocre), and the room (mediocre). My negativity began when we asked if they had any sharper knives so we might be able to cut through the very tough pizza dough. The server looked at me like I was crazy, then said 'no''... I pressed a little further and suggested that seeing as they served steak they may have some steak knives? Her reply was I'll go take a look... She returned shortly afterwards saying we were not allowed sharp knives... Now I don't know about the rest of you reading this, but when pensioners ask for sharp knives this has more to do with poor quality cooking than the likelihood of our running around like crazy geriatrics with knives. I'm confused as to why a restaurant would have such a strange policy... it wasn't like we were flying at 30,000 feet! read more
