This place was surprisingly good from my last experience. Not a 4 star ... but a full 3.5. Went to this place on July 14, 2021 for a friend's wedding. Today I ordered calamari to share snd seafood pene. The calamari was not heavy with batter and salty ... just how it should be. The seafood pene was flavorful. At first I thought I would only be able to finish half of the pene ... but I ended up reading the whole thing ... so must have been good! :) I spoke with the server and she said they changed the menu and recipes recently. read more

A beautiful location with lots of space, high ceilings, booths, and a relaxed atmosphere. While I don't often recommend chain restaurants, this is an exception. They have good burgers, but the ribs I ordered today were a pleasant surprise - decent size and flavorful. The fried zucchini (aka "zoo sticks") is a great pairing. They had this unique oatmeal & quinoa dish (big portion) served with a little milk, sugar, and fruit that my toddler just inhaled. However, the true 5-star rating goes to the server (Emilee), who was outstanding. It was a long, tiring afternoon before we stopped in and she was so kind and patient with us from the first moment. She carefully walked us through each of these recommendations and gave options to make them even better. Everything was a "maybe we could do this!" mood. Then she brought out a paper boat that put a big smile on my kid's face, and she never made us feel rushed or ignored. It meant a lot and hope someone there sees this and gives her credit. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Langford. They offer reasonably priced daily drink specials, a variety of fresh food options including calorie wise, vegan and gluten-free options and have relatively short waiting times from the kitchen. The environment is warm and inviting and has music playing at a comfortable level which is very easy to talk over. options are fun and affordable for kids. The activity book is good enough to keep little ones entertained until the meal arrives. The average time from ordering to getting the food is 25 minutes which I'd say is very reasonable. The endless salad and endless fries made the meal feel even sweeter and the food itself was well cooked and very enjoyable. The only thing holding me backing from a 5-star rating is our server didn't check up on us for drink refills often enough. Other than that the service was great. The total bill for three kids, two adults and 4 alcoholic drinks was $96.30 before gratuity. read more

What we specifically like about white spot. Is the fact it is consistent in food quality, service and cleanliness. you know what to expect when you go to White spot. Some of the menu items are overpriced. But maybe that subsidizes the cleaning crew. We enjoyed going her at least once a month and often meet family here for breakfast etc. read more

Celiacs beware, my doctor advised me to put my kid on a gluten free diet. I ordered her the gluten free pasta. The menu advised to inform staff of celiac as the sauce contained gluten. I did that and they said they'd inform the kitchen. Meal comes and the noodles are covered in sauce. I ask and was told it only had some gluten and most celiacs were fine with it. I'm sorry, when did the staff become celiac experts? Every person with celiac reacts differently. The "some gluten" could send my kid to the hospital. read more

I really enjoyed this place - so much so, that each time we drove past, we had to stop in. It's a little like a "healthy" version of KFC (at least I certainly feel less-guilty eating here). Everything I tried was yummy: the french fries, beans, the chicken (so good) - and the meals make really good deals. We dined as a group of three with very varied appetites - we each found something to suit us and left pleasantly full. I wish there were more of these across the country! read more

I will never go to this white spot again. The staff was great but the manager was unprofessional. Me and my wife were eating when a woman man and the daughter was seated across from us. Before the lady sits she started to close the window and my wife said "could you not close it all the way. She said it's cold in these seats. Then walked away. 2-3 minutes she comes back and closed the window I looked over and she sticks her tongue out like a 3 year old. I returned to eating. The manager comes over after a few minutes and asked what window did she want closed. The lady started lying that my wife ordered her not to close it and proceed to belittle her. Then the male joins in on my wife. I waited 15 seconds waiting for the manager to intervene as she didn't say anything and looked confused about what was going on. I jump in told the guy to leave My wife the f... alone because the manager was there letting my wife be bullied and verbally assaulted. The she (Manager) started going off on me for a slip of the tongue because she didn't know what to do or have any skills to handle the situation. I get it that location is for locals only because the manager said to them we'll put you in the corner next time you come. And the wife and husband were continually yelling at us as the manager was escorting them away and calling us privilege and I call them liars while the manager kept trying to admonishing me for their aggressive behaviour. She never came back to talk with us or to smooth things over. Tell her I got the message locals only and I'll post this message on other sites to get the word out. read more

Girl read back my order like I asked but didn't punch it in as such, got home to Sooke and it's completely wrong, called and spoke to an extremely rude manager named Katherine who wouldn't let me finish my sentences before cutting me off then decided to insult me by calling me the wrong gender, and telling me I can come back for a refund or she'll mail me a gift card for what I ori paid for, how does this correct the inconvenience. It doesn't. Worst experience I've ever had at an franchise like this, to be looked in the eye and lied to by the counter person and then insulted by the crappy manager Katherine. We broke the cardinal restaurant rule, after leaving a memorial a group of us decided to grab a bite to eat together. Not a small group, but 15 of us with out a reservation wandered in here. The staff were so nice and said oh, well if you can wait a few minutes (maybe 4?) they set up a large private conference style room for us. I would give this zero stars if I could. Yesterday, I took one of my daughters to WS for her birthday, like I do every year for both of them. I was severely offended by the service. We arrived on time for our 6pm reservation, and were seated, but more than ten minutes passed, and no less than 12 times we were passed by staff attending to other tables who didn't even look at us. My daughter couldn't choose her meal because we hadn't been given a children's menu. Finally after almost 15 minutes of being ignored, I got up and went to the hostess and asked for a kids menu, and I got a look of irritation. About 10 minutes further passed with still no acknowledgment, and I was about to get up and find the manager when finally a server arrived and took our order. We waited thirty minutes, during which time the server came to our table, saw that we still had no food, and went away without saying a word, 3 separate times. Finally, I got up and asked after our order, and soon thereafter it arrived. It was my daughter's birthday and she got some sort of birthday sundae but she asked for strawberry and she got vanilla. Usually when we do a birthday thing the server sings the birthday song but the girl just put it on the table and left so quickly I didn't have time to even say thank you. The salad was good but the burger was dripping with grease. The presentation of the pirate pack has gone from something fun and well-packed with many little things, to a lousy cardboard box with some food hastily chucked into cardboard serving containers as if they had used a catapult from across the room and had used the containers as catching mitts. Ironic that it happened to be the 50th anniversary of the pirate pack. I bet 50 years ago it wasn't a hastily chucked together mess with zero care shown. I have long since thought that WS was going downhill, and this atrocious dining experience has cemented it. It's obvious that the emphasis has gone from a good customer experience to packing as many people as possible into the building at the expense of everything else. Shameful. I will never spend another dime at WS, and I will be sharing this review on Yelp and elsewhere, so that people know to avoid this train wreck of a franchise which began to go off the rails about 10 years ago. read more

Well. Never thought I'd be writing a glowing review about White Spot, but here it is. ( Can't forgive them for shutting down the original Granville Street location ..) ... So we had some small issues with our meal, and the waitress was genuinely distressed that we might have a poor experience. They bent over backwards to make it up to us, including a generous adjustment to our bill. We were impressed! We were also amazed to discover that the fish and chips are amazing! Especially the fish - really nice batter, definitely not your average factory molded fish sticks. Reminded us a bit of the deliciously authentic fish and chips at Cockney Kings in North Burnaby. Nice, new-looking place. My problem with this location is same as other White Spots - expensive for the quality of service and food. Burger platters are pretty good and I should stick to those. Coffee is a rip off at $3.49 for a small mug of very ordinary java. Frequently hard to get any refill. If a chain is going to charge that much, they have to offer quality. Breakfast costs about as much as lunch/dinner. On the plus side, kids love the pirate pack meals. read more

As chain restaurants go, the White Spot in general placates that desire to take a night off cooking (or any mealtime) and just sit down and be offered consistently good food and friendly service. The Langford location specifically offers patrons a central location, easy access, and a modern - architecturally pleasing - experience. I had my first blind date with my spouse here and later returned with an elaborate proposal complete with roses and a guitarist singing a lovely Beatles song. The manager was so cool. Everyone cheered when she said yes. I love the Fish & Chips here. Love the breakfast menu. Their burgers with endless Signature fries are always tasty though fairly average. I prefer the spaghetti dish elsewhere but it adequate. On tap bear is wonderfully cold with a reasonable selection. For a visit with a friend, you can't go wrong with coffee and desert and staff never harass you to finish up and leave. The Snack & Share menu works great too. If you frequent this restaurant you inevitably pick your favourite menu items. Mine include Nat's Beef Dip, Baby Back-ribs, and Chargrilled Salmon Seafood Trio to name a few. I've eaten at WS restaurant locations across Canada with mixed results. Love the Westshore franchise! read more

Update, Oct, 2014. In addition to issues below, this location has a high-pitched whine in the air conditioning system which is an unbearable sound and has been there for months! The staff are aware of it but clearly management doesn't care. They are losing customers. Also my BC Sunny Start was so dry I had to ask for sauce on the side. Bun felt/tasted like it was left put overnight. You must wonder why I keep trying this place? I love White Spot and this location is handy but simply terrible. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me and I will not be back. Earlier review: Standard White Spot food so no complaints there but this location needs to seriously reconsider the layout of the front of the restaurant. Every single time I go, I wait and wait up front in an empty restaurant because the staff is in the kitchen and can't see or hear guests arrive. Get a bell, at least! read more

I have not eaten at a White Spot in over 5 years. I thought I would try it again. Sadly it tasted like glorified cafeteria food. It tasted like a frozen dinner that had been warmed up in a microwave. The meals had Zero flavour. If I were blindfolded I could not tell you what it was that I was eating as the meal was so tasteless. I had a bacon double cheeseburger with fries ( 9 fries on the plate) and my dinner companion had the teriyaki bowl. The staff were very nice. I spoke to them about the quality of the food. Their response was sorry we're just really busy. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and the place was practically empty. In the future I will drive further into town and enjoy the really amazing juicy fresh tasting burgers from Red Robin. read more

Food was okay--normally we enjoy the food dinning in the restaurant, this was our first time doing takeout, which I know is never as good as dine in. The reason for the two stars is the service. Every other restaurant and store has adapted there system to make things run smoother with all the restrictions and changes during Covid-19, not white spot though--and it shows! When we arrived to pick up our order there is a line up outside, no staff member or signs directing us as to the process. When we finally made it inside they have multiple people in one tiny space that is really only designed for one person--one person finding the right order and dealing with payments (only one payment terminal), someone else bringing completed orders in, and a third person taking orders on the phone. I have never worked in food service myself, but I could have setup a much better system in 10 minutes, as opposed to the 3weeks of Covid shutdowns that they have had‍ read more

It was my first visit in years to a White Spot and it will be years before I will be enticed to return. I went looking for a Chef's Salad and what I found on offer was not what I was looking for. I was looking for a fresh veggie fest and it wasn't on the menu. So I went with a favourite of mine of what was supposedly a "Classic" Clubhouse sandwich. I rate what I got at a D-. I could not eat it because the sauce was just too sweet. It tasted more like a too sweet A&W Teen Burger than anything else that I have ever tasted. Not that there is anything wrong with a Teen Burger, but if I wanted that taste I would have gone to A&W and not White Spot to pay a significant larger amount of cash for. And at least I the Teen Burger is not so sweet that it turns my stomach. The bacon was indeed crispy, so crispy that it broke apart in mouth ripping shards when I took a bite of the sandwich. The chicken part was a small bit of shaved chicken loaf smothered in BBQ sauce. The best part was the multi-grain bread. As for the salad that I went to the restaurant in search of I took the Cesar Salad, which was good. The other salad choice was just a pile of mixed greens which I find too bitter to enjoy. My boyfriend and I went to white spot the other day for lunch, we have been cooped up in the house for two weeks with sick babies and thought it would be great to get out. The host looked at us and said,"we don't have the space to sit you and your two babies for lunch today". I was so taken back considering the place was empty and there were people behind us that were taken in ahead of us. I wanted to leave but I needed to eat so I insisted he find us a place to sit. He was very mad that he had to sit us and carried on shaking his head as he stormed off to set up two highchairs at our table way off in the corner of the restaurant. I kid you not the place was EMPTY!!!! don't take rude people very well and I always try to kill people with kindness but this really upset me. I spoke to the manger but she just apologized and carried on her way..discrimination sickens me beyond words! read more
