Half Big Spenny and half Big dipper (me and my son split half and half).

I thought this place was pretty good but not amazing or anything. It kinda has more of a sports bar feel than upscale dining (which actually was perfect for me). Very family friendly as well. Pretty decent alcohol options, lots of different burgers options available as well (some vegan choices as well). Fries were great. It gets super busy after 6pm or so. Come early (like I did) or make a reservation at least a day in advance.

Waited 40 minutes for a hamburger. Was so slow and I couldn't help noticing there were quite a few large tables that were there before we arrived that were also getting a little impatient about getting their food as well. I just wish they'd warn you to expect a wait when they know it will take so long. So between the wait, the flat pop, and their spicy fries (good fries don't need spices) and just ok hamburger, I won't rush back.

My wife and I have been looking forward to this place ! We started with the red onion rings ! 5/5 delicious !! However when we got to the burgers , they were ... decent... My spenny burger was kind of dry but it was still a decent burger! The wild mushroom burger wasn't greasy, which is a bonus when going to a burger place but you like healthy options. The burger itself lacked flavour and didn't have any of the advertised sauces on the burger--a little disappointing. 3.5/5

Generous large portions! I'm always stuffed after eating here. So many burger choices to choose from. This place will definitely scratch that itch if you're craving for a big juicy burger. Service here is tentative and friendly. Tip: You can order 1/2 salad and 1/2 fries if you want! Go after 9pm for a good time.. you won't regret.

Bin 4 is probably one of my favourite spots in all of Victoria. With their cheap late night deal, friendly and efficient service, and fantastic gourmet burgers, they really can't be beaten. I bring everyone here when they come to Vic. The downtown location is a bit out of my way so I usually go to the Maple St. location, but that definitely isn't because of a difference in taste or service. Last time I was here I had the Angry Bull and, although I've tried most of the menu, this was my first time having a bison burger... remarkable! It was so filling and delicious - plus, getting it with half fries/half salad and the truffle aioli? Magnifique! If you're downtown in the evening and want a great meal for an awesome price, come line up here at 8:45 and get to munching! Well, what are you waiting for! Go go go!

Friendly staff, generous portions of food, decent prices. All 4 burgers ordered were of different variety. I ordered the Chicken of the Sea...ahi tuna w/ butter lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cilantro, red onion; accompanied by half kennebec fries & half house salad...was mouth-watering good. The rest of my group loved theirs too! We were only halfway thru our burgers, when my teenaged son asked "Can we come here tomorrow?" Well no but we will go to the one closer to home (Vancouver) soon...lol! For hard-to-please teens, that's a job well done Bin 4!

All burgers can be made vegetarian with multiple vegetarian patty choices. What an impressive burger. Reading the menu, I was torn between 5-6 different options because whoever paired those ingredients knew what the f*ck they were doing. BRAVO

Ahi Tuna and Citrus Salad ($17)

I thought this day would never come--me ordering a *salad* at a restaurant that specializes in burgers. Unfortunately, due to a stricter diet, I did the unforeseeable, and had the salad not been good, the unforgivable. Luckily for me, the Ahi Tuna and Citrus Salad ticked all the boxes, and I was able to vicariously live the burger experience through my dad's Bin 11 - Wild Mushroom Burger. (It's still vicarious if I only had one small bite of the burger and two small pieces of fries, right? Right?!) AHI TUNA AND CITRUS SALAD ($17): When this first came to the table, I was gobsmacked at the size and colour of the ahi tuna pieces. They were absolutely beautiful: two thickly cut, deep crimson triangles of buttery fish, encrusted with a toasted layer of black and white sesame seeds. Of course, a salad is not a salad without its leafy greens. This citrus salad was decked out with fresh artisan greens, sliced oranges, goat cheese, dried cranberries, a lemon honey champagne vinaigrette, and at my request, with the spiced almonds on the side. Being a rather carnivorous eater, salads are rarely my go-to dish, but I was very satisfied with what I ordered. Two things I'd improve: (1) More goat cheese! I loved the mouthfeel of it, especially when contrasted against the acidity of the oranges and the vinaigrette. (2) Toss the salad a bit more so that the ingredients are dispersed more evenly. This is a minor point, but it would've added points to presentation had the oranges not been clumped to the side. WILD MUSHROOM BURGER ($16): I can't speak much to the burger since I only had a sad morsel of it, but what hit me first was most definitely the truffle oil and aioli. If you love anything truffle-derived, then you will be pleased. The beef patty and the mushrooms themselves are both incredibly juicy, and are only highlighted by the other ingredients, from parmigiano to baby arugula. My dad thoroughly enjoyed it. A heads-up: As with all burgers at Bin 4, you get one free dip, in addition to a choice of salad, fries, chips, or half and half. (My dad got the Roasted Jalapeno Aioli, and half salad, half fries.) Since you're already given the chips as a complimentary appetizer for the table, I'd suggest getting the half salad, half fries option for the best of both (three?) worlds. While food is important, so is service. It can make or break the experience. I'm happy to say that our server was friendly and attentive. She asked us if we had been to Bin 4 before, and since it was my dad's first time, she explained to him how the menu worked (e.g. the dip and half and half spiel). She kindly accommodated my request to have my almonds on the side, gave my dad a choice between Heinz ketchup and housemade ketchup for his fries (the latter which is more of a tomato paste and comes at no extra cost!), and checked in with us to ensure that we were enjoying our food. I will certainly be back again, and next time, I will be ordering a damn burger. Final tip for all you late night eaters and/or budget-friendly customers? Bin 4 offers half-price burgers for dine-ins after 9pm with the purchase of any drink. Having gone after 9pm for my first time here, I recommend that you come earlier to avoid the line and get seated right at 9pm.

This place is about 5 minutes away from my investment property in YYJ. So I've come here a few times because it is very convenient. They have a cute little patio situated in the front of the building where you can enjoy the sunshine and a burger on a warm day. The last time we went we tried the Dirty Bourbon and The Bison Burner! Both of which were really yummy. Patty's were cooked well and not burnt. Our server was great and she offered suggestions on which burgers were her fave and which were the most popular. The Burgers came out quickly which was nice since we were really hungry. The onion rings are to die for and they give you delicious varieties of dipping sauces. We tried the truffle aioli and it was AMAZING! I would definitely order that every time!

Props to Bin 4 for having the tastiest burgers I've had in a long time! I had the BISON BURNER, and the patty was delectable. The brioche bun had just the right amount of sweetness and could hold the weight of the meat, veggies, cheese, and the delicious Jalapeno Aioli. I love the RED ONION RINGS here. They are the largest rings I've ever laid eyes on, and they're so crispy and oh-so-tasty. The PRE-SEASON FAVOURITE (guacamole!) was good, too, and they have fresh tasting salads, as well. I can't wait to try their other burgers!

Although there are many variations with different toppings these days, just like poke, my favorite way is still the classic Quebecoise poutine just loaded with squeaky curds and gravy. The large is enough for two to share, unless you plan on making it your entire meal which I wouldn't judge especially since you can't find ones with the squeaky curds back in the US.

This restaurant is essentially a small shack on the waterfront level with some outdoor picnic table seating. It's conveniently located next to a large pay lot, so there's plenty of parking. When we stopped by after driving off the ferry on a Friday evening, it was relatively quiet and we were able to place our order with only one party ahead. Since the fries are freshly fried, it took a couple of minutes to assemble. Classic Poutine, Large ($15 CAD) - As a classic poutine, this is a pretty simple dish. The fries are clearly fresh cut, with even a little potato heel in the mix. They are cleanly double fried, allowing the requisite tenderness on the interior combined with the crisp exterior, even holding up to the gravy poured over the top. The gravy is pretty standard. It seems to be from a powdered base, so it's mainly there to contribute sodium rather than any robust beefy or vegetal flavors. They add a ton of cheese curds on top, enough to cover the entire surface of the metal tray the poutine comes in. The curds are fresh, milky tasting, and fabulously squeaky. They are still distinct with some substance instead of being melted into a puddle from the hot gravy. (4/5) While I can't really compare L'Authentique to anything in Montreal (seeing that I've never visited), I thought it was pretty good. It's clearly good enough to satisfy my poutine craving at least! Washrooms - No public ones, but if it's not too busy, the staff allows customers to use the staff washroom.

You're not coming here for an authentic food experience (coming from Hawaii, I can certainly attest to that), but they do offer some of the dishes that speak to the spirit of Hawaiian fare and so "mahalo" to Kahuna for honouring the Hawaiian culture and ways in Victoria - thousands of miles away from its inspiration! === 2. FOOD The dishes may not necessarily cater to those from Hawaii (things have been adapted for the mainland - like all other ethnic foods brought to North America) but the creative dish names do provide some reminders of home. Of note, they have a few standard desserts including a lillikoi cheesecake and a haupia pie that they make in-house. Today, I tried the Loco Moco and it's perhaps a healthier (?) but very different interpretation of a typical loco moco one gets in Hawaii. Perhaps it's a local adaptation of the dish (for Hawaiians: note that there is a lot more vegetables on this, much less gravy and portion size, and different macaroni used and no brown/fried rice available) - but overall the dish is tasty. === 3. SERVICE Soft-spoken, well-mannered, it's like the Canadian version of Hawaiian service: caring but without any of the fun sarcasm and localisms one finds in a local Hawaiian joint. I noticed they were attentive to dine-in patrons and everyone wears a brighter-coloured shirt that speaks to the aloha shirts found in Hawaii. === 4.
