Pre-Season Burger with House Salad and BBQ sauce
    Crystal H.

Of all the burger places I have been, this is one of the best ones I've had. Bin 4 has a large selection of burgers and the combination of each burger all sound very delicious. They have beef to chicken to veggie to Canadian bison. I had their Sweet Corn and Chipotle and it was wonderful! It was a chicken burger and I don't always like chicken burgers since they've always been dry to me. This burger was juicy and moist. The corn was not too sweet like from canned corn, but tasted fresh. I could go without the goat cheese, it had a very musky taste, but it was not a terrible combination. Their sides are classic fries, a salad, or chips. Their chips, they gave us a small bowl when we sat down, and it was pretty salty. I ordered their house salad, and it was great! I expected a classic salad with greens, tomato, cheese, and carrots, but it's not! It was mixed greens, pumpkin seeds, peppers, cucumbers, and a nice vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was really good, I wish they added more! The service was great. Our service was super attentive, quick, and bubbly. She was awesome.

First time coming here and we had a fantastic experience. Super friendly server and the food was delicious. I got a chicken burger sub the bacon for a fried egg and it was fantastic. Would for sure come here again for this feast.

Calling all burger-lovers! If you're looking for a great burger - not just good, but GREAT - and you're in the Victoria area, then look no further 'cause Bin 4's gotchu fam. And they ain't gonna let you down! I've been going to Bin 4 for a few years, attending all of their locations, including Langford, downtown, Saanich, and their most recent location in Vancouver. I finally decided I should write a review for several reasons including giving them credits for hosting my party of 14 people during late night hours at the Langford location a few weeks ago. As a regular customer, I've tried all of the burgers on their menu, and so I feel like I have at least the minimum credential to comment on this fine feasting establishment. Rule #1: go during their late-night hours, from 9:00pm until closing. I've never not gone to late-night. And there's a perfectly good reason for this. After 9:00pm, all burgers, which are regularly priced between $15.00 - $20.00, become 50% off with the purchase of any drink (alcoholic or not). FIFTY PERCENT OFF. You heard me. I'm 5'9", 200 lbs, athletic, and Bin 4 is an absolute heaven when it comes to saving money and eating enough food to satisfy whatever burger cravings one might have. More often than not, I usually order two burgers during late-night which is so worth it. Now, let's talk about the actual food. Fish, chicken, lamb, bison, plain old beef, you name it, they got it! Even vegan options as well. And the great thing is that they all taste great! This isn't some cheap fast-food type place where you know exactly what you're getting yourself into when you place your order as a first-time customer. These are gourmet burgers, made to order if you so wish, and every single one on the menu rightfully deserves its place. In addition to these staple burgers, Bin 4 releases one new burger every month which usually turns out pretty unique. My personal favourites are the Bison Burner, Breakfast Club (which comes with a friend egg on top - who can resist??), and Chicken of the Sea (an ahi tuna burger - high in protein)! Another thing about Bin 4 that's really cool is the choice of either fries or house salad as side AND your choice of dipping sauce for fries if you get the fries as a side. My go-to has always been half fries, half salad (yes, you can do that!) and getting the truffle aioli. Like I said, I've been going here for years, and the truffle aioli never fails me. Every. Single. Time. The only downsides you might encounter at Bin 4 are with how crowded it becomes during late-night, so prepare to put your name down on a waiting list! You'll easily wait for an hour if your timing isn't right. Also, the French fries can be a hit or miss - they might come over fried if anything, but if you don't mind some crunchy fries then you're good. Another thing that's a downer is that the bigger your party, the longer you'll wait for food. The kitchen always tries to send out food for one table at a time (or so it seems). As I mentioned before, I once brought a party of 14 and we had to wait about 45 minutes for all of our food to come out. By then, some of it was cold, bit still tasted good. I'll leave the rest for you to explore. Go forth to your nearest Bin 4 and let the food speak for itself! You won't regret it.

It's good if you like giant, thick burgers. They are just ok. Staff seem overworked, underpaid or just demoralized.

Although there are many variations with different toppings these days, just like poke, my favorite way is still the classic Quebecoise poutine just loaded with squeaky curds and gravy. The large is enough for two to share, unless you plan on making it your entire meal which I wouldn't judge especially since you can't find ones with the squeaky curds back in the US.

This restaurant is essentially a small shack on the waterfront level with some outdoor picnic table seating. It's conveniently located next to a large pay lot, so there's plenty of parking. When we stopped by after driving off the ferry on a Friday evening, it was relatively quiet and we were able to place our order with only one party ahead. Since the fries are freshly fried, it took a couple of minutes to assemble. Classic Poutine, Large ($15 CAD) - As a classic poutine, this is a pretty simple dish. The fries are clearly fresh cut, with even a little potato heel in the mix. They are cleanly double fried, allowing the requisite tenderness on the interior combined with the crisp exterior, even holding up to the gravy poured over the top. The gravy is pretty standard. It seems to be from a powdered base, so it's mainly there to contribute sodium rather than any robust beefy or vegetal flavors. They add a ton of cheese curds on top, enough to cover the entire surface of the metal tray the poutine comes in. The curds are fresh, milky tasting, and fabulously squeaky. They are still distinct with some substance instead of being melted into a puddle from the hot gravy. (4/5) While I can't really compare L'Authentique to anything in Montreal (seeing that I've never visited), I thought it was pretty good. It's clearly good enough to satisfy my poutine craving at least! Washrooms - No public ones, but if it's not too busy, the staff allows customers to use the staff washroom.

You're not coming here for an authentic food experience (coming from Hawaii, I can certainly attest to that), but they do offer some of the dishes that speak to the spirit of Hawaiian fare and so "mahalo" to Kahuna for honouring the Hawaiian culture and ways in Victoria - thousands of miles away from its inspiration! === 2. FOOD The dishes may not necessarily cater to those from Hawaii (things have been adapted for the mainland - like all other ethnic foods brought to North America) but the creative dish names do provide some reminders of home. Of note, they have a few standard desserts including a lillikoi cheesecake and a haupia pie that they make in-house. Today, I tried the Loco Moco and it's perhaps a healthier (?) but very different interpretation of a typical loco moco one gets in Hawaii. Perhaps it's a local adaptation of the dish (for Hawaiians: note that there is a lot more vegetables on this, much less gravy and portion size, and different macaroni used and no brown/fried rice available) - but overall the dish is tasty. === 3. SERVICE Soft-spoken, well-mannered, it's like the Canadian version of Hawaiian service: caring but without any of the fun sarcasm and localisms one finds in a local Hawaiian joint. I noticed they were attentive to dine-in patrons and everyone wears a brighter-coloured shirt that speaks to the aloha shirts found in Hawaii. === 4. ENVIRONMENT Good, bright, modern, and clean, the Hawaiian motifs are visible throughout be it in colour palette, light fixtures, decorations, and even the t-shirts on sale. While it's not ginormous, you could bring a sizeable party of perhaps up to 12 here. Groups of 4 or less would be best served on a daily basis. Those with wheelchairs and baby strollers would find get in and out easily. Parking appears to just be up to your luck with a street spot or in one of the private paid lots nearby.
