    Clam chowder
    Alex P.

For a restaurant in a very touristy area, they deserve 5 stars. The service alone is makes you for any minor flaws. First of, this restaurant has everything: happy hour, kids menu and a beautiful outdoor seating area. A few negatives are the prices (which makes sense for the area). Even the happy hour is quiet overpriced but ok. We tried the peach Bellini which was really big actually but a big delicious slushy with barely any alcohol. The kids all chose pasta with marinara sauce. It was a huge portion, and they accommodated the sauce on the side request. They were also cognizant of any allergies. The fish and chips was very good, the breading is thin and crispy. The tuna poke was delicious, not a big portion though. Clam chowder is made from scratch with pretty good amount of fish. It's not my favorite flavor wise but it's well made with a nice amount of ingredients and garlic toast on the side.

Appetizer Valentines Day three course meal. Excellent.

Prices range from $6 to $12 - everything is homemade, even the bread, and ingredients are locally sourced (which is a rarity nowadays). The freshly baked bread makes the sandwich better than anywhere else in the neighbourhood in my opinion. This new location on corner of Goldstream/Jacklin is larger than the previous one in Colwood. Customize your sandwich fixings at the deli counter and eat in or grab n go for a picnic at Langford Lake. Can get busy at lunch rush. Choose from traditional sandwich, wrap or grilled panini. Bread is soft and delicious, and doesn't need to be toasted it's that good. Even the roast beef and turkey are oven roasted in their kitchen. They are known for their scratch-made soups offering up 3 daily options (they have a monthly menu board so you know what's coming). Don't forget the cookies - they are classically delicious and also baked fresh daily. They used to do a really good traditional breakfast menu on Sundays until 2pm. More tasty comfort food like eggs benny, omelettes, pancakes, waffles... (But I can understand if they need a day off!) John the owner is a retired navy cook who is passionate about dishing out satisfying homemade comfort food (he's in the back kitchen every morning at 6am prepping for the day) Nice to support local family community-minded business, especially in Langford. Closed on Sundays and early-ish during week so enjoy for lunch or early dinner.

We were passing by and decided to take a break before getting back on our bikes. Little June is a charming coffee shop serving breakfast, brunch, and pastries/baked goods. Fernwood coffee is also available here. We ordered an iced latte and an iced London fog. My particular favourite was the iced latte. I believe they utilize Earl Grey powder for their London fog, and I was pleasantly pleased by how wonderful it tasted. It was unusual because I was not used to the powder but rather the tea bags. The host at the cashier was really kind and provided wonderful service. They have tons of seatings. I loved how open and airy the space was! I'll have to try their brunch the next time I visit. I highly recommend this cute little spot!

A solid spot with its own distinct vibe and an impressively long menu…read more Great for groups since there's something for everyone, and the portions are generous. Almost too much for one person. One thing that stood out: unlike most diners that only offer one brewed coffee option, this place lets you choose between regular and dark roast. Small detail, but appreciated. I went on a weekday morning, so there was no wait, but the space isn't very large, so I'd recommend making a reservation during peak hours. Staff were friendly overall, and the atmosphere is worth experiencing. That said, while the food was consistently solid, it wasn't particularly memorable. I ordered the Valentino, smoked salmon and poached egg on an English muffin with avocado, but the avocado was completely unripe, which brought down both the texture and the flavor. With a menu this wide, most dishes land in the "good" rather than "great" range, and execution details like that make a difference. If you're going for variety and the overall experience, you'll be satisfied, but if you're hoping for something exceptional, it may feel a bit underwhelming. Bottom line: a reliable brunch option for groups, as long as you're not setting the bar too high on the food itself.
