Super attentive waiter, great mix of care, humor, and respect. Food is always good here - a favorite is the Coconut Calamari! Yum! Reminds us of the Calamari at a place that used to be in Maui, called Alexanders. But here's a ittle tip for Corporate: the steak sandwich has asian teriyaki-ish seasonings. The menu claims its on an Italian Schiacciata bread. The steak is cut up and served in two folded Schiacciata "buns"..... Reminiscent of bao buns...... Can you say "Identity Crisis"? Good grief. It was OK, but not what I hoped for when I ordered a steak sandwich. At the least it should be renamed. Alternately, just make a great Steak Bao! And then give me the choice of a real steak sandwich as well. Please? read more

For a restaurant in a very touristy area, they deserve 5 stars. The service alone is makes you for any minor flaws. First of, this restaurant has everything: happy hour, kids menu and a beautiful outdoor seating area. A few negatives are the prices (which makes sense for the area). Even the happy hour is quiet overpriced but ok. We tried the peach Bellini which was really big actually but a big delicious slushy with barely any alcohol. The kids all chose pasta with marinara sauce. It was a huge portion, and they accommodated the sauce on the side request. They were also cognizant of any allergies. The fish and chips was very good, the breading is thin and crispy. The tuna poke was delicious, not a big portion though. Clam chowder is made from scratch with pretty good amount of fish. It's not my favorite flavor wise but it's well made with a nice amount of ingredients and garlic toast on the side. read more

Milestones On Millstream is one of those establishments that has had a fairly good reputation locally for a number of years. I have noticed a few problems recently, but my partner and I are convinced it's endemic with the food service industry worldwide -- with inconsistent customer service and a feeling that for the amount charged, there wasn't as much value as there used to be. On our last visit at Valentines Day, the meals were hearty, tasty, and value rich. The server was extraordinary. The time before that, not so much. Ask for a medium rare steak and they tell you their beef is processed days ahead in a marinade and they can only serve medium-well. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were powdered commercial pre-made, and the vegetables were hard as rock but still bursted with uncanny, undesirable squirts of water when cut into. The steaks lacked any real flavour profile and then you are told that's the way they serve them when you speak to the manager. Not acceptable for that price. Yet other meals can be fantastic, four and a half stars easily. I just don't understand it. Ambience and cleanliness is great. So, stay away from the steaks (in my opinion) and stick with the Asian cuisine or Italian. I hate being negative but this franchise operation really needs some managerial fine tuning to be considered excellent and great again. read more

I really want to like this place because I love some of the menu items, but every time I go the music drives me out. It is loud, 'bangy' and really inappropriate for a restaurant. A week ago we brought guests for a dinner treat and our server was wonderful. The food was good, not great but satisfactory, But our experience was again overshadowed by the loud music. We could barely speak with each other. When we told our server she said she gets lots of complaints about it but there isn't anything she can do. Today, I went for lunch with a friend and again the music was overwhelming. When I mentioned it to my server she said that she gets that complaint regularly but that manager likes it. I hope he/she enjoys listening in an empty restaurant. I won't be back. read more

Quality and quantity have gone downhill as experienced in our last two visits. One dish was sent back because of poor quality of salad greens. There were few chicken wings for the price. The restaurant was not terribly busy and we (2 of us) ordered and waited.This restaurant is one of the 'wear anything to work as long as it's black' type. 0ur waitress had a skirt so short that she spent more time pulling it down than attending to customers. Eventually we were served our meals by a lad that we'd never seen before because our waitress seemed to have disappeared. When she eventually appeared she asked if our meals were 'O.K.' and on being told that neither of them was very warm said 'Oh dear' and disappeared again. I'm not quite sure how to deal with this except to say that we won't be patronising Milestone' again at any of their locations. Of course a tip was expected for this poor service and luke-warm food. Crappy multi colored taco chips to go with so so artichoke dip. When we moved to the fast-growing community of Langford in 2016, there was a dearth of casual restaurants. One of the few in the city was, and still is, Milestones. What Milestones offers is a varied dining experience, with the overall result being unexceptional. First, the complaints. Some of the items on the menu are more than a little overpriced. The Surfside Salad, for example, should be named a salmon salad, with only a few shrimps added to the fish to call it anything more (and justify the increased price). Another gripe has been the kitchen's inability to produce a steak medium rare. Sure, it's difficult to serve "medium rare" just right, but other restaurants manage. Now the compliments. Milestones does a great job of handling my wife's myriad of allergies--if they aren't sure of an allergy, they'll double check with her. Not all restaurants are as careful. The servers, also, are excellent. And lastly, we've noted an improvement in the general quality of the food. Obviously, even now, they've made improvements in the kitchen. In sum, although, many dishes are expensive for what one gets, at least the items we've ordered lately have tasted better. Milestones is a solid three star restaurant and that's fine. But the real problem for the West Shore is what's missing from Langford. Where in BC's fastest growing city is a Cactus Club or a Moxi's or even a pub that serves great food like the Four Mile House? We can only wait and hope. read more

Nice upscale restaurant and in a great location. We ordered these items and we liked most of them. Spicy Thai basil noodles: awesome taste (shrimp, chicken was succulent). Grilled Wild coho salmon: decent, had to add salt. Would have preferred if they grilled it a little more. Baked goat cheese & slow-roasted garlic flatbread plate: Pretty good (all of us liked some or other several small servings of this appetizer). Butternut squash Ravioli: My veggie friends really liked it. Dessert sampler: awesome. Ultimate Bellini with White Grape Smirnoff vodka: awesome. Very good service. Very well maintained restaurant. Valentine's Day Dinner (Millstream Location) - pasta was bland - steaks were an hour late - steaks were lukewarm and didn't have much of a good sear. - lobster with my steak could maybe fill a teaspoon (not sure if they were out of the lobster) and the shrimp were bland - 1st daughter's fries were cold - 2nd daughter didn't enjoy her dish, however we didn't return it or say anything to be fair. They did take the steaks off the bill and charge half price for the burger, even though the manager said he was going to cover our bill (I didn't make a fuss like I should've and I still tipped the server) The only thing that was ok was the appetizer and my beer wasn't flat. read more

What should have been a pleasant lunch on a Saturday afternoon turned into a disaster. We where seated by the door and the cold draft the restaurant had plenty of empty booths. Went for lunch and then again for dinner a few days later. Overall good flavor on the food and the staff is nice. For lunch we got the goat cheese appetizer and split the rustic chicken club. The goat cheese appetizer was delicious! Everything about it was well done and the flavors were on point. The yam fries that came with the sandwich were tasty, but we were disappointed in the sandwich. The bread wasn't super soft and was very thick. This meant that the ratio of bread to inside sandwich stuff was about 3 to 1. The inside sandwich bits were tasty, but unfortunately were overshadowed by the bread. I would recommend getting a different bread if you order this sandwich. For dinner, I had the Tunisian Chicken which was a special. Super tasty and great flavors - loved the sauce! We also split the duo dessert which came with the white chocolate cheesecake and the salted caramel chocolate torte. The cheesecake was the winner here. The torte was super caramel forward, which I don't love caramel. I would have preferred the chocolate to be the forward flavor and the caramel as an accent. But if you like caramel, you'll love that! Service for dinner was a little slower - they didn't seem to check in often so I had to ask for refills on water, etc. Overall good place and I would go back. read more

Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night as the sun was setting, without a reservation. Now, I've been to Milestones on Robson and other locations several times before but this visit was one to actually talk about. We were greeted and sat immediately. The server was pleasant and accommodating (we had special dietary requests) and the delivery was prompt. Alright...so all good and fine right?! YES!! I'm a food service worker and have been for over 15 years and find it really difficult to be 'wow'd', but shockingly, Milestones nailed it this time! Well done everyone. The kitchen didn't drench the salad in dressing, didn't overcook the salmon, asparagus was actually green as opposed to swamp coloured! Care was taken in the preparation and it was definitely appreciated. We will return to THIS location in the future, for sure. For what we received, the pricing was spot on. read more

We've been to this Milestones twice this month. Once on a Tuesday when the service was prompt & pleasant, the food was hot & delicious, & the drinks were yummy. Tonight, a Friday, although pleasant the service was incredibly slow, our food was cool, & the drinks not mixed well at all. Due to waiting 1/2 an hour for our drinks, the server volunteered to take them off our bill. It was like we visited two different restaurants. So beware. A good experience here can be a crap shoot. read more

My experiences at the Milestone's Grill & Bar in Langford have been consistently great. I'm not aware of a lot of restaurants in that area, so I think it's worth pointing out that this is a great spot for brunch or dinner. Every time we order appetizers, I'm always surprised at how much care goes into making them. They're pretty complex for the cost and the dishes' ingredients seem to be selected a bit more carefully than some of the competitors (Moxies, Med Grill). As far as entrees go, I keep ordering the grilled seafood salad. It's spicy and fresh tasting with fruit and citrus flavours popping up throughout the dish. Now, before anyone complains, three stars for a cookie cutter chain is pretty high. There were some flaws too big to miss in a chain with moderate prices. First, why do you put the time on a piece of paper at the table when the extremely slow service just crumples it into her pocket when she finally arrives after being hailed? Loved the decor, but the height of the table versus the bench did make me feel a bit like a kid who could barely reach the floor. And lastly what is a "simmered" beef pattie? Those sliders were meatballs sliced in half. Enough with the negatives...the decor at this location is outstanding and hip. My Roasted Tomato Bisque was absolutely perfect, and as much as I detest shortcuts and menu flaws the sliders were worth the try, but beware of the horseradish. And the Bellini's, not only are the fab, but did you know they are $3.99 on Tuesdays? read more

I took a 2 year break from this Milestones location after a couple bad experiences -- bad food, bad service. I returned yesterday for a take-out order when the restaurant wasn't too busy. Somehow it still took 30 minutes to bring out the (salad + chicken burger), with fries that were soggy and a very underwhelming chicken sandwich. I expected it to be piping hot as they made us wait, presumably for the food to finish cooking. I think I'll call it a day on Milestones. ESPECIALLY this location. read more

What a great time at Milestones! I had previously reviewed this restaurant a couple of years ago and I'm glad to report that the service has much improved since that time. In fact, we just hosted our retirement party at this location and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the work of the staff before the party (in making the reservation and confirming the setup and menu) to the staff the night of the party, everything was amazing. Mark (the bar manager) met with us a week before the party to get an idea of what we wanted for the party. Holly (the house manager) took the time to phone me the day of the party to confirm the plan and to make suggestions about the service. She met us at the party and made sure everything went smoothly throughout the night. Our servers, Alaya and Whitney, were wonderful; very cheerful and efficient while keeping our guests happy and the food stocked. The food was delicious. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves (as did we) and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you all! read more

This time we ate at three restaurants the first 3 nights and picked the best to return for my birthday on the 4th day. We came back here! We shared a Grilled Seafood Salad that was awesome, and a Grilled Mediterranean Double Breast of Chicken. A Dessert Must: Milestone's Break Up Tub. A container of ice cream (like a small pint) with cookie dough ice cream and bits of fresh baked chocolate cookies, with house made caramel sauce. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Victoria--this place is rather deprived in matters of food culture, however, Milestone has changed my opinion for the better. Originally we were seated in a location I wasn't to happy with, nothing wrong with it, I just didn't like it. They were more than happy seating is somewhere else without issue though it was busy. Appetizers arrived in a timely manner as did the main course. We ordered Cajun Shrimp Diane, Seafood Salad, Shrimp Fettucine and Shanghai Noodle Stir Fry. Everything tasted fresh and was served hot; except the salad, it was supposed to be cooler and was served appropriately. Overall great experience. I ordered the chicken pesto penne one night ($17 cad) and the beef bolognese ($15 cad during the summer proposition they're having). It was average but I wouldn't make a special trip here. This was our second time here they had hints of Valentines everywhere. The Staff is very friendly and genuine. Best service we've had in along time. The Coconut calamari where's amazing and my husband's french onion soup was to die for. The Ginger Beef was fabulous and my husband had the 14oz Prime Rib withe mash potatoes which both melted in your mouth. We just came in on a whim for lunch. This place has a modern decor, windows all around and it appears that each window seat has a slider which can open to the outside. We were seated comfortably in a booth on the inside. We ordered French Dipped Sandwiches, one with Cesar's salad, which was a little extra, the other had a green salad. If you like garlic order the Cesar's salad! It was delicious. The sandwich had an excellent dipping sauce which was not as watery as most. The meat was warm and sandwich had lots of onions on ciabatta bread which was not too thick and overwhelming. It was one of the best French dipped sandwich I've ever had. The only ice tea they serve is Brisk, which was disappointing because it seems like a more up scaled establishment. Service was prompt, friendly and polite. read more

Went for lunch in a party of 5 on a Wednesday. The service was terrible-- slow and borderline grumpy. The whole ordeal took 2 hours by the time we ordered and received our meals and ate them which is crazy for a weekday lunch. One word: Impressed. Haven't visited Milestones in ages, especially this Langford location. Had some gift cards to use up so better now than never. Walked in on a Monday afternoon and I forgot how nice and contemporary the setting is. Host and server were both pleasant, attentive and professional. Noticed the menu has changed. The booklet looks fresh, creative and modern. Now serving seasonal dishes, specials and weekend brunch. They appear to have a very good Executive Chef. Ordered a main, the Ultimate Fish Taco Duo, to share. Without prompting, the kitchen had neatly divided the two tacos for us including the fries vertically stacked in a metal cup. Impressed. The flour tortillas were slightly crisp and nicely folded with a toothpick. The golden basa piece was quite large with a generous topping of freshly made salsa slaw and diced mango with a perfect amount of sauce. It was tasty and would kill it at Taco Corner in downtown Vic. And the fries were perfectly crisp and lightly salted. Still impressed. Next was the veggie Garden Burger and side spring salad with candied pecans and fresh strawberries. The combination of roasted red pepper relish and avocados and LTO topping makes for a tasty burger. At about $13 this is a bargain. The hubs enjoyed his Crispy Chicken Burger. It's a decent size and the first crunch bite of chicken was steaming, fresh and moist, so you know it was delivered promptly from the kitchen. The house-made honey sriracha slaw and garlic aioli was a nice touch. We both enjoyed the toasted egg burger buns with the thin crust, moist breadiness and shiny golden brown top. All the food tasted fresh and delicious and prices are fair. I could see the open kitchen from our booth and it was spotless and organized as the chefs meticulously assembled dishes. The server (who was excellent and I wish I got her name) mentioned the survey at the bottom of the bill. I know lots of places do this now but combined with the Field Agent mystery guest I can only surmise Milestones HQ is paying plenty of attention to each and every location and the overall guest experience. I wish other chain restaurants would take note and do this because Milestones is stepping it up. They want detailed feedback, which means accountability and a high standard of quality, care and attention.
