This was the second place we went to that had crab tots on the menu so we threw in the towel and ordered them. Tots? There is nothing tot-like about these deep-fried balls of crabby goodness that showed up at our table. Shaped into balls, these are essentially crab cakes served with two dipping sauces. The quality of our meal was also excellent. The Heritage green salad was monstrous and easily satiated the lovely K and I. We make it at home, so trying a slightly different version gave us some ideas to try. The chicken wings were on special and were plump, very nicely cooked and absolutely delicious. The pub itself is nicely appointed inside with a wide choice of sitting arrangements which we like. The place also has a significant number of folks that were greeted by name, which in our mind is a very good indication of a top quality establishment. One final thing was the washrooms were spotless and smelled nice and clean, from being clean, no perfumed cover up here. All in all one of best experiences for lunch in a long while. We will most certainly be back the next time we are in the Victoria area. Thank you!

The wings had some good size to them too I took half home for lunch. Also great cold. They're really sauces wings so if you're not a sauce lover ask for it on the side! Some of the better wings I've had, my only feedback would be I wanted them to stay a touch crispier out of the fryer. My husband ordered the special Oktoberfest spatzle - it was super creamy and oniony just needed abit of salt. The beer here was served ice cold which we loved and my virgin cesar was a winner! So good! Would definitely come back and try more wing flavours!

This one is a sports bar aswell (hooray) but it's a very mellow one. It's nothing spectacular, but it's nice enough for a drink or two. We had the house wine and it was very fruity and easy to drink. The happy hour options were pretty good aswell, and just as a whole this place is good. I can imagine it's more exciting when it's busier but it's good enough for me. Not only is the music ridiculously loud and obnoxious but even the bartender appeared to be half drunk. You know it's bad when you have to scream at the top of your lungs to order a drink or talk to the person next to you. Also, because of the douchebaggery you frequently see in these places my friend nearly got into a fight with some 20 year old claiming to be some sugar daddy to two younger girls who claimed to be lesbians?! Go figure that one out. I guess slapping down a $100 bill on the bartop in this place makes you the big man on campus Fundamentally it's a bar for younger people later at night who are totally wasted and full of attitude. For a good time in Victoria there are plenty of other good alternatives

The bartender, Lucy, repeatedly added money to the tip jar without asking, which left me feeling like my money was being taken without my consent. The food has also gone downhill, and the area around the bathrooms consistently smelled like urine. The biggest reason I won't return is the new security guard. Based on my own experience, he previously came into the bar when he didnt work there and frequently made young women uncomfortable by hitting on freshly 21-year-old customers and staring at people from the corner and makeing nasty comments . Now he's working security and using his phone while checking IDs, which did not make me feel comfortable. I know this man and im not letting him take photos of my id for his stash. The atmosphere has completely changed. What used to feel like a neighborhood bar now feels like an over-policed club. Security constantly follows customers around, making it impossible to relax and enjoy yourself. On top of that, the security guard regularly smokes in the entrance, blowing cigarette smoke toward customers as they walk in. It's unprofessional and creates a terrible first impression. From what I personally observed, many of the other employees seemed frustrated with the behavior of these two staff members as well. After more than a decade of being a loyal customer, I'm extremely disappointed in what this place has become. I can't recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of better bars that treat their customers with respect.
