The bartender, Lucy, repeatedly added money to the tip jar without asking, which left me feeling like my money was being taken without my consent. The food has also gone downhill, and the area around the bathrooms consistently smelled like urine. The biggest reason I won't return is the new security guard. Based on my own experience, he previously came into the bar when he didnt work there and frequently made young women uncomfortable by hitting on freshly 21-year-old customers and staring at people from the corner and makeing nasty comments . Now he's working security and using his phone while checking IDs, which did not make me feel comfortable. I know this man and im not letting him take photos of my id for his stash. The atmosphere has completely changed. What used to feel like a neighborhood bar now feels like an over-policed club. Security constantly follows customers around, making it impossible to relax and enjoy yourself. On top of that, the security guard regularly smokes in the entrance, blowing cigarette smoke toward customers as they walk in. It's unprofessional and creates a terrible first impression. From what I personally observed, many of the other employees seemed frustrated with the behavior of these two staff members as well. After more than a decade of being a loyal customer, I'm extremely disappointed in what this place has become. I can't recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of better bars that treat their customers with respect.

The quality of our meal was also excellent. The Heritage green salad was monstrous and easily satiated the lovely K and I. We make it at home, so trying a slightly different version gave us some ideas to try. The chicken wings were on special and were plump, very nicely cooked and absolutely delicious. The pub itself is nicely appointed inside with a wide choice of sitting arrangements which we like. The place also has a significant number of folks that were greeted by name, which in our mind is a very good indication of a top quality establishment. One final thing was the washrooms were spotless and smelled nice and clean, from being clean, no perfumed cover up here. All in all one of best experiences for lunch in a long while. We will most certainly be back the next time we are in the Victoria area. Thank you!

The wings had some good size to them too I took half home for lunch. Also great cold. They're really sauces wings so if you're not a sauce lover ask for it on the side! Some of the better wings I've had, my only feedback would be I wanted them to stay a touch crispier out of the fryer. My husband ordered the special Oktoberfest spatzle - it was super creamy and oniony just needed abit of salt. The beer here was served ice cold which we loved and my virgin cesar was a winner! So good! Would definitely come back and try more wing flavours!

Our waitress was so kind! We started off with the calamari and pork belly bites. LOVED the calamari - perfect spices and flavor to it, loved the addition of banana peppers. Usually they put fresh jalapenos with it at other places. The pork belly bites were a nice appetizer and the marination was pretty good. A little chewy to my liking but was not bad! We saw that they had the fiesta flight and my buddy really wanted to try it so we did! There were 4 mini margaritas: the blue Hawaiian, the raspberry coconut, the spicy classic and the peach. The peach was my absolute favorite! The others were OK -- the blue Hawaiian was literally like the blue Hawaiian juice (my buddy said it tasted like koolaid so not the best...). The raspberry coconut was a little off...not sure what it was. With the flight, it came with 3 little appetizers. Shrimp ceviche, mango and other fruits with Tarin and Mexican crema corn (there's a name for it but blanking...) Shrimp ceviche was not bad, a touch of pico de gallo. The mango fruit with Tarin was definitely different - you can taste the spice! I didn't really like the Mexican creama corn...flavors were kind of off and there was more cream than corn. Our main entrees were pretty delicious! They ran out of the braised pork shank. I settled with the hangar steak. Loved the carrots, snow peas and mash potatoes. My buddy got the grilled salmon and that was DELICIOUS! We also got the loaded potato skins which were a nice appetizer to end the night. (Yes we got a lot of food! My buddy and I tend to do that on our food adventures lol) Lots of screen TVs as expected around the restaurant and it was mariners night so the staff was easy to identify. We'd come back!
