First place we stopped to eat in the Victoria area. Our family of five loved it. I really enjoyed my burger dip. Beers were cold and good. Almost asked our waitress if she could babysit for us, she was so nice. Gave us recommendations for the area to visit. Although it was one of the more expensive meals we had it town (less than $100 USD for family of five and me having a couple drinks), it was totally worth it. Atmosphere reminds me of Leavenworth, Washington (European style) kind of places. Fitting for the oldest pub in BC. Would definitely go back again! read more

Are here with family friends when we visited them and it was some of the best sliders and fries that I've ever had. Service was a little slow but it was because there were two huge parties eating right next to us. Was very family friendly and a nice place to eat with the blue jays game on and music playing. Great service!!! Very nice staff. I personally loved the atmosphere, it was exactly what we were looking for. We went with the goal of playing pool, and they have a separate room with two pool tables that were nice quality. Free pool if you buy something! Which we would've done anyways. I appreciated the privacy but it still didn't feel separated from the rest of the pub. We were well taken care of by our server, she was very nice and gave us great recommendations of other things to see on the island. Beer was great, food was great, and an overall great experience. We stopped for a late lunch on our way to the ferry back to the mainland on Friday. Pretty standard fare - lots of choices from falafel to burgers, salads to hummus and smaller bites. Price range is also standard for the island - about $20 for mains. We both ordered the cod tacos and although they were presented nicely, the accompanying 'rainbow greens salad' was haphazard at best. The salsa and guacamole on the side were both watery/oily which made the tacos drip like crazy. The tacos and fish themselves were fine, but for that price, they need to do better. Service was okay. Our orders were taken and brought over to the table in a reasonable time and we received the bill shortly after asking. Would not return here. read more

Aside from a fairly attentive server, absolutely horrible. $25 for a sad excuse of eggs benny with mushrooms but at least that was edible. The potatoes Daphne were overcooked, dry and zero seasoning, would make a suitable hockey puck. The $25.50 Mexican Cowboy burger was so over sauced it was soggy and under seasoned, the fries were okay. The place has interesting decor and is quiet since it was virtually empty just after 1 on a Sunday. Won't be back. read more

I can count on the 6 Mile pub to have gluten free with a dedicated fryer so a celiac can visit here with confidence and still enjoy fast food such as fish and chips and onion rings which is what we shared...plenty to fill us up with one extra piece of fish. All in all, a good choice. I gave it four stars because I think I may of had Basa fish instead of cod as it had that softer texture. Still tasted pretty good. It seems to me that last time I ate there, the gluten free batter was a little more puffy, rather than a thin crisp batter. It was still very good considering that gluten free with a dedicated fryer is not readily available at most restaurants. I did hear that Big Wheel Burger-has a dedicated fryer..even at Langford, but their trailer was closed on that Wednesday. read more

I did ask if they could not make it so well done and they were able to cook it a little less. I'm also a sucker for onion rings. So this burger screamed out to me. I do kind of feel like there is an identity crisis with the menu, it's got a lot of random things to choose from. But for a quick work lunch it was just what I needed. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and style of this beautiful little pub. The service was great, even though the servers were very busy they were very polite. Our food was incredible. They met my dietary restrictions with a smile and I was able to modify the tuna poke bowl with spinach instead of the rice. Dropped by at 1:20 pm for lunch. We were told that we could only have the brunch menu until 2 pm.( which i didn't want) My Eggs Benny was terrible. My wife had French toast which was also terrible. Across the way a table of four ( the only other people there) told the waitress that they were starving but would wait until 2 pm . I wish I would have waited for the lunch menu. but it seems odd to have several people not being allowed to order what they want until 2pm. dark and dingy witha musty smell. was very disappointed. waitress says she hears the same complaints over and over. Fanfrickingtastic!! As a celiac, travelling and finding good gluten free food in restaurants can be incredibly challenging. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer AND bake their own gluten free burger buns. The burger and fries that I had were fantastic. I'm used to thinking "meh, not bad for gluten free" but this place goes above and beyond that. They also have gluten free desserts, which are almost impossible to find. Terrible food, over-priced, poor service. Where to begin. Went for a meeting - super noisy (expected as it is a pub). Server not impressive (had to ask twice for glass of water, and server never checked how meal was, never checked once during meal service). Had the $20 calamari, which consisted of unbelievably small portion (more like an appetizer if even that), and bottom of the package scraps not even worth eating - flavorless too. Oh but the server did manage to show up for bill payment and tip (note to management - it's really annoying to have a tip option on the cc machine that starts with 15% and higher options. First of all, train your servers to actually offer decent service, check on guests, and then improve your food and portions (hint: the pandemic gouging should be over by now). I will never eat here again, as this is the second bad experience I've had there, with pathetic shrinkflation food scamming. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

How about $8.5-$9.50 16oz pints, not including tax or tip. Cons: Very expensive, very smelly (seriously, why does it smell so bad in here), small portions, bad decor. Pros: Very solid staff. We are part of an 8 ball league, this is a venue that a couple teams play out of. So we had no choice to be there. Several years ago I frequented this place, loved it. Food was always top notch and service amazing. Today.. um.. wow not so much drink special was a watery, over spiced caesar using cheap vodka??? Definitely tasted vodka, and some sort of seasoning (not tabasco or worcestershire) absolutely watered down clamato.. I could see clearly through the drink.. Server - I mentioned the crappy caesar and she offered to bring me more clamato... so I ordered beer.. and had to remind her about the beer, more than once. This happened with the next 2 beers as well.. even one of my team mates had to find the waitress in the main area to remind her. 4 domestic beer and a really crappy caesar cost me $40 without tip.. unreal 2 of the team ordered poutines.. tiny 10oz bowls filled halfway with limp oil soaked fries, rubbery cheese and a flavorless gravy garnished nicely for $18.. I know times are tough but that is ridiculous We were not the only ones having issues with the service and food quality, where the pool tables are everyone that was trying to enjoy the fabulous patio had to walk past us and several were making comments of disgust as they left. read more

Ordered pouting, fish and chips and bowl of lobster bisque. Only 2 very small pieces of lobster in $20 bowl of bisque. Fries were extremely tough and hardly any gravy on poutine. When I asked for a bit more gravy, I wasn't told that they would charge me $4 extra. Fish and chips batter was thick and very doughy with thin piece of fish. Ate at the Beagle pub in town with excellent experience and food compared to this bad food. Would not recommend at all read more

Where do I start. We don't live in Victoria but have gone to the 6 mile numerous times when visiting friends and family. The food and atmosphere was always great which is why we always come back. I don't know if it's new ownership, new cooks, or both but this visit was extremely disappointing. I had to call three times to make a reservation for a Saturday evening. The 3rd time I left a message, called back an hour later and finally got a person who had no idea I had called. When we arrived I asked a server about the reservation and she rudely said "I don't know anything about it". This woman was unreal, poorly dressed and so rude. She actually made a face at me a couple hours later when I got up to use the washroom. I spoke to the bartender who was very helpful and got someone to make a table for us. One good thing I can say is our server made up for the rudeness of the first woman I spoke to. The food was inconsistent, the fish tacos were great but the fish and chips were over cooked and dry. The $27 chicken burger definitely wasn't worth the price. The quesadilla was awful, no flavour and the sauce they give you doesn't mesh with it at all. The chicken wings were $20 for a small handful of wings. They were so overpriced for the quality of the food and the portions were so small. The cup of fries was so tiny I thought, why even bother putting them on the plate. Definitely will not be dining there again. read more

My daughter and I ate there on Sept 9 th around 5:30 specifically to check out all of their Gluten free menu. Much to our surprise we got lovely fat onion rings in a light tempura batter and a delicious aioli sauce. The onion rings were piping hot and an average person wouldn't know they were eating gluten free. I went on to order a cod burger with a gluten free bun and gluten free French fries. The fries came with a crunchy outer coating. Hot and delicious. The bun was fat and golden brown and not at all crumbly. It was in fact, delicious. The cod was coated in the same tempura batter as the onion rings. All gluten free. My daughter had the mussels and clams entree. Hot and yummy. They have a dedicated fryer for all gluten free which is prepared in a separate area from gluten so it's safe for Celiacs. Our waitress was attentive and lovely and the house ale and lager was on sale for happy hour. I'd recommend this pub. Plenty of space for a crowd. Kudos to the chef who I understand is celiac himself. read more

WOW! This place is an absolute gem! My boyfriend and I were visiting from the states and after a nice long hike we really felt like we should try some poutine before the end of our trip. I'm celiac, so finding a place with gluten free gravy is tough. Not only did they have it, but it did not disappoint! The gravy was good, plenty of cheese curds, and no lonely gravy-less fries at the bottom. I ordered the Golden Sour cocktail which was right up my alley and delicious. Ended up having two! After the success of the poutine we felt like we had to order the calamari which was also gluten free (amazing!). This was another huge winner. Every my boyfriend who isn't celiac says it was great. We ended up getting dessert too because it was all so good. We wish were would have been hungrier. Our waitress was lovely. She was friendly without being overly friendly, too the point, quick, and did her job extremely well while she was obviously busy. For a pub, it's hard to understand their menu as they seem to be trying to make it a 5 star Michelin restaurant but boy do they fall short! We went for dine around and found the food to be over priced and over seasoned! The meat was straight up a chunk of fat served up a few gnocchi. The salads made no sense. One was so over done with garlic that that's all you could taste! It was so powerful that it literally left a burning feeling on my tongue. Very disappointed in everything. read more

Very busy supper joint meaning your food may take a while to get to you, but it is worth the wait. We had fish and chips and shepherds pie; both delicious. Probably some of the nicest, crispiest fish batter ever. Homemade fries, too. For dessert, oven baked apple crisp with ice cream. YUM! A nice hint of lemon in the apples. Enough for two to share. I was in on Friday night with friends and had good food. The poutine was large and very tasty. I happen to work within a block of the pub and figured I'd order their Poutine as an afternoon snack while at work on Monday. I picked it up, got back to work and opened it up only to find half the amount of Poutine and was charged the same as the full order in the pub on Friday night! Went for a Father's day lunch. Server took our order in a timely manner, and was pleasant enough. She also asked and took not of all our names, unusual but I thought that was to personalize the experience. The initial part of our food took about 1 hour and 10 minutes with Zero explanation as to why the delay...funnily though, another server randomly offered a tiny ramakin of pretzels for 6 people, I guess we could have shared one each. Ultimately when all the food arrived, at which point we were at different stages, all offerings were distinctly mediocre. We should have left, but we are too polite. My mom took me here for my birthday. The food was extremely overpriced. It is trying to be some kind of a trendy natural bistro or something. Just doesn't work. This place serves consistently amazing gluten free food! From the proper full English breakfast available on the weekend, to the delightful ploughmans platter, burgers, poutine and more I really love this place. Not to mention my mum loves when I bring her here for there special Mother's Day buffet! The majority (if not all!) of their food is from local suppliers and they make most of the breads in house. Same with the sausages, blood pudding and baked beans. They also have gf pancakes on the weekend brunch menu. read more

Thos place has gone down hill the food and the service stinks here. Even the owner does not care about the customers only the money. I over heard a convo that involved a customer and the owner and the owner told the customer to get out and never come back all because his food was undercooked and was not happy with the way it came out.
