My friend did get the happy hour steak and it was tough for a medium rare but they comped her drink as an apology. It was a nice ambiance, plenty of dates going on around us. Great happy hour! I tried the Tuna Temaki. I did remove the slices of Serrano off the top. It still had quite a bit of kick to it but the flavor was excellent. I was still hungry so I also got one of the many chicken sliders which was very tasty. My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The parking is inconveniently located on the far side of the entrance, requiring a long walk around the building. Upon arrival, I was asked for my name and phone number, presumably for tracking purposes, but was not offered any benefits like a frequent guest membership in exchange for my personal information. I requested a high-top table but was instead seated in a booth next to a table of three, despite the restaurant being quite empty. This seating arrangement felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. On a positive note, my waitress, Tara, was exceptionally friendly and attentive. She pointed out the happy hour specials on the last page of the menu and assured me there was no rush to order. Her warm demeanor and helpfulness were the highlights of my visit. The 14oz ribeye steak I ordered medium rare, Chicago style, was served medium. I expected a thicker steak, not such a thin one. The steak was delicious though. I had to ask for a refill of my coke, Tara didn't bring one automatically. She did offer a fresh straw, which I declined. I'm trying to save the planet. Our server was very attentive and friendly. One of the best servers we have had in a restaurant in a long while. We had an issue with one of our meals and he promptly dealt with it, The steak was a terrible triangular tougher end piece cut, left us wondering why this would have been served to a customer. And although it took at least ten or more minutes to receive the replacement steak, the new steak was much improved in texture and it was cooked perfectly, evenly tender and was quite tasty, however everyone else at the table was already done their dinner and the rest of my dinner was cold by then. The ambience was quite noisy for an early dinner time reservation at 4:30 on a Saturday. It's always quite busy at this location. Reservations are definitely recommended. I feel like you can never go wrong with Cactus Club Cafe. I had my farewell lunch from work here. We were a group of 7 people. Service was great here. We ordered the truffle fries and sushi (prawn crunch roll) to share. I always love the truffle fries at Cactus Club. They were so tasty. The sushi was delicious as well. Good portion size. I ordered the Hunter Chicken and key lime pie. The Hunter Chicken was super delicious. It was somewhat over cooked but good thing I had lots of sauce to compensate for it. The mashed pototoes were tasty. I wish the chicken portion size was a bit bigger. I had to get a dessert because I was still slightly hungry after that. The key lime pie was very tasty. It was a nice treat to finish the meal off. Service was good. We sat outside in the enclosed patio seating. The heaters were not working at that time but good thing that it wasn't too cold outside either. There are plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant. The menu can b accessed contactlessly via ur smartphone and the qr code conveniently displayed on ur tabletop! The covered patio feels very safe due to lofty ceilings, air circulation and design.Masks r required as well upon entering, exiting and during any movement between ur table and the restroom. My tasty mini sandwiches were filled with moist chicken dressed with a woody vinegary Sambal pepper sauce. Sambal pepper is similar to fresh raw Jalapeno with a stronger brighter chili pepper note unlike any other, a near citrus taste but mild. I def recommend Mini Crispy Chicken Sandwiches as a light brunch nosh. I also really dig the grilled flavour of the mini Burgers too! Worthy of a mention were the Cactus Club fries,...piping hot straight outta the fryer, crisp exterior, fluffy potato inside. The Burger entree was too well done to really enjoy as it had hard blackened edges and left an oily aftertaste. Our first server was great, super sweet and kind. She made sure to make us feel comfortable and helped us decide what to order. After her shift ended, the new server introduced herself and took over in the same friendly and helpful manner. The best part was, the manager came over to check on us and was an absolute delight! She chatted with us for a bit and made us feel so welcome and appreciated. During a busy time, they all took the time to interact with us on a personal level while still making sure the food was on time and done right. Your managers skills dealing with loud, unruly customers. We had a 5:30 reservation. We were seated + told our waiter it was horribly loud. He just agreed, took our order + left. We had to almost shout to talk. When our food came, we complained again re noise + AGAIN, nothing was done. We ate in a hurry + I told my friend I had to get out as I couldn't stand it anymore. My friend paid the bill - it should have been free as we were truly upset. She then asked for the manager. The woman said yes it was horribly loud due to 3 tables. She explained she'd had numerous customer complaints. Then she went on to tell my friend that the management was "looking into" noise reduction materials!!! I was a manager + had a lot of training to handle a wide spectrum of problems. Again, NOTHING was done even though several complaints were made. Recently went to this location for a lunch date with my husband. Must be something in the water because this location never misses. Always amazing food AND service. Our server Tara was truly one of a kind. She made our entire experience feel so special and memorable. She recommended we start with the carpaccio and a side of their iconic truffle fries. My chicken burger came with the chicken out of the burger, the breading tasted like cheez-its and I am vegan so I can't eat cheese. My potatoes were cold and my asparagus was chilly and my steak was covered in mash potatoes. Zcechuan chicken letuc wrap was overwhelming I had a panic attack upon looking at it and broke out in hives from being allergy to the lettuce. We noticed they do offer an online registration option. May have to check that out. We sat in the lounge. Was as noisy as expected. The service is friendly. The bathrooms very clean and smell nice.
