    Siomai - IG @bougiefoodieboi

There are 2 locations of this place - the one in Kingsway and the one in Royal City Centre. This one is the Kingsway location with much better rating. Apparently this place opens at 10am, despite some sources saying 11am so when we got there right at 11am, it was pretty busy, but we still managed to get a table immediately. We got the yema cream cheese latte specialty latte, the kwek kwek (fried quail egg), siomai, pork isaw, and kare kare with garlic rice (1.50CAD surcharge). The latte was very flavorful and one of the better ones out there, just a bit on the sweeter side but manageable as we shared the drink. The kwek kwek was pretty good with the slightly sweet dipping sauce, and the pork isaw was nicely barbecued and pairs well with the spiced vinegar. The siomai was cold and we flagged the server, and they were nice enough to produce a newly steamed fresh batch for us instead of just reheating the siomai on the table, so we effectively got an order of siomai for free. The heated siomai was pretty good with lots of filling and very garlicky, representative of a lot of Filipino dishes. The kare kare was great - the pork belly was crispy and the peanut sauce was hearty. The garlic rice further adds on to the flavor, but I'd argue that plain rice still works excellent for this dish. Service was great as the server is attentive and nice. He recommended us to takeout the cold siomai to steam/reheat later to be enjoyed, owning up to the mistakes and quickly remedying it, which is indicative of excellent service.

Super delicious Filipino near Metrotown. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the dishes are. Portions may look small, but I am fully stuffed and was not able to finish all I ordered. Really good stuff! #FilipinoFood #Metrotown #Foodie #Dinner #Restaurant

For those clients whose asking for the parking its free street parking except infront(few spots metered parking) at the rear there's like 10 spots free parking for this resto. Filipino owned, service is homey and owners are really hands-on always checking what else is needed by the cuatomers. There's another branch in Newwestminster(same owner) Not so big place, roughly can accomodate 40 heads. Neat place to enjoy authentic Filipino cuisnes. Interior design is simple with Pinoy inspired ceiling light.good for family and kids, maybe with small group as well. We ordered the crispy kare-kare and it was really good, not beef but fried crispy pork belly, the sayce is very rich and veggies were cooked perfectly, the shrimp paste is the sweet type which is not bad. They have an all day Pinoy breakfast and we tried the tapsilog tapa(fried beef) with 2 over easy fried egg and fried rice accompanied by mango and onion side dish, this one is also good but im not really into sweet kind of beef. Serving size is just right not so big amd not so small. For pur sweet tooth we got the ice catchang or Filipino called it the famois halo-halo.We also bought some rice cakes... looks like our blood sigar will be elevated today hahahaha. They have a big TV airing Filipino shows. Sumtotal we enjoyed our lunch so so good to eat proud Pinoy foods. Big question!? Should I recommend this place? The answer is a big YES. We will revisit soon to try other dishes in their menu. Remember free street and rear parking. Kudos! Proud Pinoy! Mabuhay!

Lomi and batchoy... both lovely fresh and flavorful broths with a variety of tasty additions...

Great family-style resto with classic Filipino faves. Breakfast all day, and loaded with families out for dinner. Only 1 server on, but his family pitches in to clear when needed. Cute baby, too.

This was my first visit at this Filipino restaurant and we were very impressed with the service and food. We ordered a number of items to try and they were very tasty. Portion size was decent for the price. The service was excellent. Staff checked up on us regularly and provided extra bowls, plates and cutlery as requested. My only complaint was the size of the restaurant. It is challenging to accommodate larger groups as the restaurant was very busy during the lunch rush. We were very cozy at our table of 7 people and felt like there was not enough elbow space. However, I think smaller groups of 6 or less would find this location very enjoyable.

They even make their own sauces that are bottled and you can bring home. They seemed to be set up for take out and catering. But they do have seating for about 20-25 people. We ordered: BBQ Pork Combo meal $10.50 Chicken Inasal Combo meal $10.50 both with Garlic - Annatto Rice +$.75 each and we added pork spring rolls $4 The combo meals are tasty and filling. With a slight char on the BBQ pork which is what I enjoy when having skewers. Honestly the garlic- annato rice wasn't really worth it. I personally couldn't taste it over the sauce on either the BBQ pork or the chicken Inasal. And would have been happy with just regular rice. The lumpiang was meaty and everything I look for in a crispy spring roll. The dessert options area also great. Not sure if its seasonal but they had a slice of coconut (buko) pie in their fridge. Whole buko pie need to be per-ordered and picked up on the weekend. They also have leche flan and ube cheesecake for a sweet treat. Over all a great comforting small business with friendly staff and a meal under $12. How can you go wrong? Give Hapag Ihaw-Ihaw a try if you're in the area.

That means in order to get anything, you must wave down the waiter. The food is also very mediocre in terms taste. To make matters worse, the quantity of food is not filling either. New Filipino gig in lower mainland, small place approximately houses 15 heads the whole eatery…read more Mostly Filipino customers lining up. I went here with a friend to try, well not bad actually, the carrying product is Lechong Cebu,a rosted pork. There are only few dishes in the menu, the server claimed they are coming soon. they also do catering service thats what the waitor told us. we wish to have a bulalo its a beef soup but sold out that day, so since we were already here and our cravings for this day is Filipino cuisine we ordered other availble dishes. First one is the pork sisig, it was good,we both dont eat liver so we asked the server to exclude it.oh how i missed home(Philippines) on first bite of the sisig,it was delish, the flavor of the spices, the lemon and the egg while it was smoking hot on a sizzling plate, very good. we ordered appetizer includes 2 Pork bbq, 2 feep fried spring rolls(lumpiang shanghai),and 3 pcs of chicken wings well i would say they were ordinary taste,we also got the beef caldereta,hmmmmm....another ordinary taste.plus we had the garlic rice and hot water with lemon. I am not sure if the dishes were pre-cooked. We havent try the carrying dish which is the lechon Cebu, for sure if we will come back thats the one we will going to order. Very small place, crews are bi-lingual and very friendly, you know friendliness is one of the best trait of Filipinos. They also sell some chicken skin chicharon and ube pandesal. Pricing is just okay, you pay for what you wil get. Theres no TV, but theres music playing while we were there.Wash room is available.(Needs a lot of make over and improvement with the interior design.) If am not mistaken this place is a bubble tea gig before,As per friends news it was sold. Wifi now is all over the city so i dont think that would be an issue. Parking is metered one unless you wish to park in some residential area and you will just do some waking...sometimes serious walking because it can be far. Most clients that day came for pick up orders..a lot of them so i feel that this place has a huge potential to bloom. Noise level is average and nothing i can say on the interior design because theres nothing at all, like i said it"s pretty new place. Good for small group and kids friendly. Im wishing the owner the best of luck...i hope they should incorporate more Filipino dishes in their menu. Accept credit and debit card and cash as well

It's hard to find places that offer this for only four people. Normally you need a lot more so this is an excellent little gem of a location to know. The service was really excellent, and you could tell it is family run. You can see also some personal memorabilia and collections in the bathroom, which really gives the traditional province feel of the Philippines. Philippines is a vast country with over 100,000 islands and this place gives me a feel of the province. The service was really good and the ambiance is nice. Though I would have life to see a few more things even like plants are photos in the main dining hall. Something to be aware of and it is a common problem for most places in Vancouver. Parking can be a real challenge so read the signs very carefully.
