I went with a swirl cone, dipped in chocolate. $5.00 even. Lady at the register was super nice, and actually came into play later during my visit........... I got my cone and walked over to the tables they have. I saw a family wearing their Reds gear, and I had on my Cardinals hat. We started chatting about baseball and other stuff. While talking, this cone was dripping like crazy. My hand was covered in ice cream and I was trying to woof it down asap lol. I finished my cone and out comes the young lady who helped me at the counter. The people I was chatting with were her parents picking her up from work! I asked her if I could use the hose they had outside to rinse off my hands, and she let me know that she could get me some wet wipes. She went inside and got me some wet wipes which took care of my ice cream problem. GREAT customer service! The ice cream was delicious, and the history of this place goes back almost 100 years. I would definitely come back all the time if I lived here in the area. Cash only, btw.

Learned our lesson when eating at an ice cream shop to order only ice cream. The ice cream is always perfect tasting & at a good price. This time we ordered 3 hotdogs & a pretzel. We received 1 hot dog / 1 foot long/ 1 pretzel. The pretzel was a little hard and dry. The footlong was gray outside/pink inside & the hot dog was ate by my husband before I could even ask although he said his stomach was bubbling after. I spoke with the girl at the counter about the footlong and she said she could give us a new one although I didn't want another one that could be bad as well. I just was skeptical after looking at it & tasting it. The taste was off & the color was off. I trashed it. Ice cream we ordered was great. 3 dirt sundaes for the kids & 2 twists ( chocolate & vanilla) for the adults.

It took an exceptionally long time to get to the front of the line, but once we got there we realized there were only two people working and they were doing the best they could! We realized that with all of the mix-ins they offer, this adds a step and makes the ice cream process more complicated than it needs to be. So, while we enjoyed the options, could definitely be scaled back to make things more efficient. I got pistachio with cookies and cream and whipped cream, friend got guava with cheesecake bites and husband got a salted turtle. Perfect frozen treats for a hot summer day!

Rather than let it spoil our day, we decided to walk over to Graeter's for a little something sweet, and I'm so glad we did! The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with that wonderful aroma of freshly made waffle cones and the cheerful smiles of the staff. We settled on sharing a scoop of their signature Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip (my favorite!) and a scoop of Butter Pecan for my friend. Sitting at one of their little tables, laughing and savoring every creamy bite, turned what could have been a horrible outing into such a pleasant afternoon. Graeter's never disappoints -- their ice cream is rich, flavorful, and always feels like a special treat. It's the kind of place that reminds you of simpler times, where quality and tradition still matter. My friend and I agreed we'll skip that other spot next time and just come straight here for dessert instead!
