I am not sure who thought it was a good idea to put a truck-stop sink in the waiting area, but I couldn't get over the feeling that I was eating in the restroom. I'm sure it is meant for convenience in washing your hands before eating, but it really feels out of place and makes the whole place feel dirty. On a positive note, the food is actually pretty good. The baby back enchiladas are unique and flavorful. The Fundito is also unique and not something that you can find anywhere else. I had heard great things about the Queso, so I decided to try it. It was just OK. It tastes like they took Queso and put cream cheese in it - it makes it really thick and a little bit sour. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, this place is worth a try just because of their unique spin on Mexican food. However, If I do go back, my wife won't be joining me. She just can't get over the fact that it feels like you enter through the restroom. read more

The service was completely horrible. we walked into the restaurant sign says please wait to be seated so we checkEd in and took a seat. they seated the 2 groups before us and we continued to sit for a good 15 minutes they kept looking at us but never said anything. then 2 other groups came in behind us checkEd in they were immediately seated to a table. we walked up and said can we be seated the lady goes oh yeah I will seat you next. then we get our food they had just set the plates down and they come up and ask do you want to go boxes? they the bring us our check and walked around our table waiting for the payment. when we didn't pay because we were eating the manager came out very rudely and said can you give me your card my waiter needs payment so she can go home. I went here the other day with some coworkers and I have always seen this place driving by, but never given it a shot until recently. I actually was very happy with this place!!! It is different than your typical Americanized Mexican food!!! It was just very different from what I have had in other places!!! I tried the 2 Taco Plate Combo. I got the Sweet Green Chicken Chile Taco and another one that was Pork. I LOVE the Sweet Green Chile Salsa!!! However, the only thing I could complain about is that the Chicken tasted old, not spoiled, but old and I wasn't to fond of that. The Tacos themselves were juicy and very flavorful and I would be happy to go back to try some of their other Tacos!!! The beans and rice were really good as well!!! Not just your typical Refried Beans and Spanish Rice it was much more than that!!! They definitely season theirs differently and I loved it!!! I would defiantly suggest this place and would love to come back to try more!!! read more

Portion sizes have gone down while prices have gone up. They charge you more than is posted on the menu and the waiter does not help you figure that out. 5 out of the 7 of our party for lunch where children, 3 out of those 5 children ordered off of the kid's menu, when the bill came we were charged full price drinks for the kids who ordered off the kid's menu and we pointed out that it says they're included in the price, the waiter then proceeded to tell us that he "assumed" that they were over the age of 12. First of all why are you assuming the ages of our children? Secondly if you had a question like that shouldn't it have brought up while we were ordering off of the kids menu? They are by the way the appropriate age to be ordering from the kid's menu, he did fix that on our bill but then he would not bring them the ice cream that also says it is included in a kid's meal. I introduced my sister to this place because I have enjoyed it in the past but after this experience and the way we were talked to and treated we will not be back. read more

I've been to Milagros a dozen times or so, and tried a lot of the menu items. In reading the other reviews it seems like people's expectations aren't being met, so I'd like to try to help readers understand where Milagros falls among Utah restaurants. It's not an authentic Mexican restaurant like El Gallo Giro and El Mexiquense. It's not an Americanized Mexican restaurant like Mi Ranchito or Mama Chu's. Milagros is more like Cafe Rio or Costa Vida, but where they have waiters and real plates. The salsas have no heat and are sweeter than you'd expect, especially the green salsa -- however, they're quite good. The green salsa especially has great flavor. They also have a hotter salsa available by request, but even that is not "hot". If you order something basic like a chimichanga, you'll find it quite comparable to what you'd get at Costa Vida, however if you go a little more adventurous, there are some really good items on the menu. I recommend trying any of the following: Chicken Sweet Green Chili Stuffed Quesadilla Barry's Pollo Fundido Milagros Chile Relleno Also, try the ceviche! I'd be happy to have someone point me to something better, but it's the best ceviche I've had in Utah to date. One warning though: Do not order the Happy Enchiladas. They are not happy. You will not love them despite what the menu claims. I hope I've provided some context for the other reviews and helped people understand what to expect from Milagros. Enjoy! read more

I'm extremely surprised at how many rough reviews this place gets. Maybe it's because I've just been lucky. They have a ton of great options and lunch specials. Their chips and salsa are great and give you a not so hot option. The service is fantastic and attentive. As for good, I have ordered the sweet onion enchiladas, pollo fundido, mata hambre, and horchata. I am yet to try something I didn't like. Their sides are good for typical Mexican food. Rice and beans are good, the onions are delicious. The only side that was subpar for me were the borracho beans. Again, I'm not sure why there are so many complaints on this place. Sigh. I was called out for being a food snob, so I took the lowest rated restaurant on Yelp and gave it a try. I'm ashamed that I ate almost everything that was put before me. We had Carne Asada for the 4th of July, I consider Mexican to be just as American as a hamburger or hotdog. If a Mexican joint does one thing right, it should be chips and salsa. The green sauce tasted, is it possible... greasy? The sweet Onion side was a treat, but almost everything else was a sugar bomb. Service was good, people were nice, atmosphere was pleasant, but not enough to overcome the food. Keep trying... I hope it gets better. read more
