Well, I've reviewed this shop in the past. Sadly they've had a number of management changes between my past reviews where they did great work, gave discounts, and were very professional. The current management gets my final review based on their lack of professionalism, lack of movement on pricing, and general attitude. Recently following my last review 6/23/2022, the car that I had gotten an oil change experienced some transmission issues so rather than replace the transmission (this would be the second transmission out of my pocket), I sold the car to a dealership and replaced it with the same model, same year, same everything except the new car has less miles on it. Sadly the new car needed a power steering pressure hose. So I took it to Midas to get its oil changed and get the power steering leak checked. *My previous car had a power steering hose replaced, using a part purchased by me at the O'Reilly Auto Parts store right next door to Midas where they get their parts from, they installed it in the old car, all was great* Since the new car needed this same pressure hose, the manager there decided that they no longer would help a Veteran out and give him a discount if he went and bought the hose from where they get their parts (which they markUP substantially), note: the old car had this hose replaced by Midas after I got it for roughly 50% of what they were going to charge me for it. I felt this was unfair so I just got my oil changed and I took my new car to another shop that did great work with the same hose purchased from O'Reilly, AND they did it for a price that was $200 LESS than what Midas quoted. Midas claimed that my car was leaking oil, leaking transmission fluid, etc and handed me a quote for over $4,000 worth of work. The other shop I took it to told me they found nothing that Midas had said. I've been driving the car, the only thing dripping under the car is the water from the air conditioner when it's been running for a little bit. Oil level hasn't moved since the oil change. Transmission fluid hasn't dropped at all, same level as it's been since the car was purchased. Window washer fluid drops...when I use that. In other words the $4,000 quote for service was highly unnecessary and when the time comes around for more work, more oil changes, etc., there's a new shop that will be getting my money. I'm loyal to this place because of Luis. He is an incredible person and the only reason I keep coming back to Midas. He runs the show here and does a fantastic job. He goes above and beyond every time I'm in and is extremely kind. When I got my brakes done, they made sure to get me out in record time, but also offered accommodations if the timing wasn't right for me. I fully trust everyone here with my car and they don't try to swindle me as many other shops and dealerships have. I've found this is one of the best deals if you require more than just basic oil for your vehicle (synthetic, for example). Luis does a great job of explaining that the Groupon isn't always the best choice and offers great in-house specials. Since they price match the Groupon, sometimes it is better to just go there and ask for it. That way you also don't accidentally purchase the wrong location. They also offer payment plans without a credit check, if need be provided you do not have a lot of overdrafts and such. Keep in mind when reviewing chains like this, be careful not to take out a nationwide corporate policy on one specific store. I say this because I never got my rebate on my breaks (which wasn't fun), but I did get a certificate for the troubles and made sure to use it at this specific store because the staff is so amazing. read more

Joe is the guy name on the front desk told me the suspension on my car bad to the last level. Also he said but the main thing now you need to replace the shocks and lower control arms since they are unable to get the alignment done until you replace them. He kept offering me the cost of suspension repair but I refused he thought he can play smart with me and get me into this. I know most the time I hear knocking whenever I turn to the right, but the car drive so smooth there is no way that knock comes from the shocks or control arms. Long story short i purchased Midas alignment deal from Groupon and I lost my coupon because I asked him if he prefer to pay at the shop or purchase it through Groupon, he said you can pay here and I will adjust the price for you. I took my car to another alignment shop the knock was caused by a screw on the subframe needs to be tightened I paid $75 for alignment and that was for everything they had done on my car. And I appreciate their honesty. I will never ever go back to Midas again or recommend it to friends or family. read more

Decided to come here for an oil change because I needed one & they offered an online coupon (this was the ONLY Midas location you could use it at, and it happens to be the closest one to where I live). It's a pretty small location, but the staff is friendly & efficient & they have a nice waiting room w/comfy couches & Bravo playing on the TV. I made an appointment and was in and out out in about 40-45 mins. This place is a smooth talking rip off. They are very good at making you feel like you're getting something of value but in actuality, they are full of crap. They overcharged me on labor while completely lying about how long the problem to fix takes. Charged an hour (also telling me it will take this long) while YouTube showed how to fix it in 3 minutes. What's the point in making an appointment if it takes an hour and a half for a twenty minute oil change. The last two times I've been have been completely different prices and different types of oil. I would give this shop a "0" star if I could. I took my car there on a Tuesday as my tire light was on and my tires are under warranty from Midas. I was there at 730 when they opened and Luis was late - strolling in five to ten minutes after opening time. I am a school counselor so I was mindful of the time as I need to be at work. I also had an oil change Groupon that I figured I would use since I was there. Upon finally getting in the door Luis tried to tell me I had to "schedule" the oil change and that he could not honor the whole groupon I was so confused as I had plenty of time to read through the groupon sitting waiting. I was able to leave my car as I had arranged a ride. Now oil change should be easy. Fix my tire which was under warranty. So off to work I went Now when I go back the charge was $150- with the recommendation of getting new struts and shocks and no warranty for my car tires was honored. I had to pay for the tire to be fixed- it had a nail and the quote to get that all fixed was $1500. I didn't feel comfortable about all this and took my car to my Family mechanic. He said nothing is wrong with my struts and shocks. And my tires are normal wear and should be warranted. I spoke to Bill the manager and said bro n it back and I will look at it. I did that. Again he said he could not honor the warranty and that I need an alignment and new tires. I am saying don't ever go to this place and they are crooked trying to take advantage of me as a female. Worst. Service. Ever - They put the wrong oil in my car and then tried to lie about it. They also said I needed new brake pads and rotors (which I didn't need). Called and emailed their corporate office to complain (many times) - took them almost 3 months to reply. Con-artists - Stay way. I notified the Better Business Bureau. Their 'low prices' for oil changes are nothing more than a bait & switch and a reason to create new issues with your car so they can get you for the higher margin services. Be careful about servicing your car here while the repairs are warranted, their goals are more sales performance driven meaning they will tell you that you need things done that arent necessary immediately and make it seem like its best to do so because they get bonuses for their performance. This business thrive on high sales and not repairs. I went in for a simple oil change and to fix a chirping noise which should of been a mere $75 charge but bill ended up $3000 and they never even fixed the chirping noise.. while I had to approve this, they made it seem as though it was life or death of my car so go to your mom and pop family mechanics and who wont overcharge you. High pressure repairs are frowned upon and makes the business seem as tho they care more about their paychecks with bonuses then they do the longevity of your car. I was given two coupons for changing a review for a free oil change for my car, went in to use the second coupon, I'm told that my car needs 6qts of oil and the coupon was ONLY for 5qts, I would have to pay $11 extra for the other quart. Last time I use the free coupon I was NOT charged for that "extra quart" of oil. This was a scheduled appt, they've worked on my car more then twand have done all my oil changes, I told them what coupon it was when I made the appt over the phone because they ASKED, not only did this store waste my time but also my gas coming from the city of Maricopa! I needed an oil change but was just laid off from my job so I couldn't afford the usual $65 at my place. I researched on Groupon and found Midas. With my groupon select it came to $36.75, I called to make sure I could get in. I spoke with Janes who said he was the manager and seemed friendly. He asked me to return my Groupon and purchase in store. I explained how I get an extra discount and he said no problem we will honor it. And with the Groupon he told me they do not allow appointments and it is a walk in basis. He also said he would explain the situation to the guy working so I wouldn't have to deal with explaining it all again. Being that I know how business is I kindly returned my Groupon to purchase that day. So the next day I went in and I told the guy working at the front what James had told me. The guy immediately got an attitude with me and said Groupons are with appointments only (I would have gladly made an apt) and that he would not honor. At first I was pissed and ready to walk out but I needed that oil change, so I asked him to call James. He did and said he was sorry for the mis communication. Then said it'll be $40. I explained I got mine cheaper and he continued his attitude and said he wouldn't honor it band $40 was the best he could do. I said ok then I will just purchase my Groupon again and he said no I won't help you now and you won't be able to get in today. I said fine and went to the gym while my car was worked on. An hour later I picked up my car with no guy in site, the lady who rang me up (and was very sweet) said he left and was probably embarrassed to come back. Well he should be!!!!! And to make this all worse the first thing I noticed in my car when I got in was a 8 inch crack on the inside of my windshield. As a woman it's already intimidating to walk in to a new mechanic shop and feel like I'm not going to get run over by the men working there. Midas your customer service is terrible! Everyone inside this location is friendly and you're greeted immediately. My oil change took about an hour and a half from start to finish (pretty standard), but their waiting area is really comfortable, which is a bonus! If you have a Groupon, as I did, just be aware that you may have to cover costs beyond that voucher. I paid $19.99 for a "conventional oil change up to 5 quarts," but ended up needing synthetic ($30 up charge) & an additional quart (add $10). Talk about service and professionalism. The customer service at this Midas was excellent. I got an awesome deal for all my repairs for a much lower price than any of the other quotes I received. So, don't even think about purchasing a groupon for 3 oil changes & then try to redeem them later. So, it's a long drawn out story but basically James, the store manager; yeaaaa, he is a straight up A****** with a HORRIBLE lack of customer service skills. Ok ready? Instead of this guy honoring the exact same price on the exact same service as last time (because of an internal error in price, which i was never made aware of) he throws a fit over the 20 dollar difference. I didn't plan 4 anything else, naturally right? So, after me getting loud, spitting vulgarities & becoming really annoyed, he says, "we can call it even if u just give me the other voucher"....asks me," so what am i supposed to do, lose money everytime you come in with a voucher?!?!?!?!" Actually, he just lost any future money i might have been considering spending on future services.... Then i ask him if he can understand why I was so upset....he said NO!!!! What? Really guy? It could be 5 dollars, 50 dollars, or 500 dollars.
