I was so underwhelmed by my initial experience at this store that I canceled my appointment and left. First, the lobby is a mess. Clearly under construction with wires exposed and drywall dust all over the seating area. I booked an appointment due to the affordable oil change coupon offered. And even though I was on time to my appointment and specified I ONLY wanted an oil change and no additional services, the rude male behind the counter quoted me an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes wait time. When I inquired about the unexpected time, he explained the million other things they were going to do to my car, in a condescending tone. When I again clarified I didn't need any additional services, he simply repeated himself in an increasingly condescending tone until I left. It was an extremely irritating experience and I took my keys and left. Booked an appointment at a nearby competitor instead. I won't be back and don't recommend this place to any woman looking for an oil change with reasonable respect and service. read more

This past Saturday I had just driven 500 miles into Phoenix and drove through some debris in the road with my truck. At best, I needed an alignment on my tires. At worst I needed much deeper repair work on my truck. I called several mechanics in the area who all declined to work on my truck. This place took my truck and did a very thorough inspection on a Saturday afternoon. They quickly knew what parts were needed and had them ordered for Monday delivery (a national holiday). When I returned they had two mechanics working on my truck despite Monday being a holiday and my truck was ready to rock by 3pm. I was then able to get back on the road and drove another 500 miles home. This saved my entire trip and potentially my family's life. I could not be more thrilled with the speed and efficiency this shop operated at to get me back on the road safely. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My elderly aunt went in for a basic oil change on her 2018 Chevy trax and ended up spending $440.Heres the breakdown. Flush(no trans or dif) Parts-$106 labor-$243 Oil change parts -$64( double the price) labor-$25 Tire service parts-$30 labor-$30 Then they recommended $1700 worth of repairs next time she comes in. Another flush $350 Oil change $90 Tires with labor-$741 Tires Midas touch -$60 Transmission service parts-$10 labor-$280 Wheel alignment-140 DO NOT RECOMMEND MIDAS. I went to this shop to get a quote on my muffler. The manager at shop quoted me for a muffler. He said it would take 3 hours to repair at 200 per hour plus the parts. Then he offered a discount of 70 dollars off the total job. It came out to 640 plus tax. I then called Apache muffler in Mesa and had the same work done that I was quoted at Midas, for a total 169.00 total out the door with tax. Also this muffler replacement took a half hour to do. So it is in your best interest to get mutiple quotes. read more

overall Midas has been conviently located in Scottsdale providing multiple services to my vehicle when needed. however, it has also be subjected to price manipulation and management changes in the past few yrs. all of such is concerning but given that my exp has been I can book an appointment not be hassled with add-on services or bring my own parts to be utilized; I have faith that the techs will not do me nor my vehicle a disservice overall. if I could recommend one thing that needs changing (not regarding the current management nor construction to the shop) it would be that Midas needs to be price competitive and not focused on part/service markups that would turn away tenured or new customers. granted nothing in the automotive industry is free bc a human has to render the labor but not all humans have skill nor ethics; so Midas needs to crack down on training and uphold the "Midas touch" principal that they as a company started. read more

My tire was loosing air, took to this shop and they "double checked" the tire. They concluded that nothing was wrong and was just low on air. Went home and woke up the next day with a flat tire. Not happy with the service here. read more

We rely on one car and I commute Monday through Friday from North Phoenix to East Mesa for work, so it's important we maintain the upkeep and care on our car. I have had many bad experiences taking my car to get an oil change over the years, and it was SO refreshing to have the polar opposite experience at this Midas. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed that they enjoyed being there working and being around each other. I had purchased a Groupon and when I brought it in, the person helping me advised that there are usually better coupons offered through Midas than what is offered on the Groupon, and invited me to call ahead before my next one and they would let me know what deals they were offering. They also advised me that there was evidence of rats under my hood (I park outside), and told me what to go buy and they would place it under my hood free of charge. I needed a new oil change place cuz my old guy retired. Went to Midas and have never received such friendly service and quick attention. I made an appointment and showed up 5 minutes early. They took my car right away and within an hour my service was complete. (As opposed to the dealership or other places I've been to when I show up at appointment time and wait an hour just for them to take my car back to the shop and start the work- we've all seen that before). And they have WiFi and keurig coffee in the waiting room so i just sat on my laptop and did emails for work while I waited. Lisa and Richard in the front are friendly and efficient. The guys in the back didn't skimp on oil, looked over my car and even gave me the option to do my own filters (which I can do) instead of automatically doing it themselves and giving me the up charge. ***DO NOT GO TO THIS MIDAS!!!*** I used a Groupon and they told me I needed new rotors. Not to mention, they SLICED MY ABS CORD and think I'm too stupid to know they did it.. WTF!! I JUST had over $1200 work of work done on my car by the dealer and NEVER once did they say something was wrong with my ABS! They merely stated I needed new brake pads! The worker takes me outside and tells me all I need to do is get two screws to fix it. However, if they fix it, mind you, it's a 5 minute job max, they'd have to charge me $125 for an hour of labor. WHAT?!?! When I told them that makes absolutely NO sense, they tried to change the price to $60 for 1/2 hour labor. Fact of the matter is, they ran a Groupon they don't want to honor and are getting people in the door to mess up their car so they can get the original brake price. I'm definitely filing a lawsuit, reporting them to Group On and to the Better Business Bureau because this is NOT okay! read more

Their hearts were in the right place but their skills and attention to detail were extremely poor. I will not mention names of the people that assisted me but I will try to be as detailed as possible about all the poor experiences I had to try to get a few repairs done that were under warranty and they told me they could fix it with no problem. I have had to return to this location 4 times to get the same issues fixed and each time I left there was another issue with my SUV. The first visit ended with "try this out and let us know if it works for you" and it didn't even come close. My second visit ended with "I am going to need a full day with this" so they were not able to finish the job in the couple of hours they said they needed. My third visit was "we got the wrong parts from the dealer" and it wasn't until the end of the day after my car had been there since 7am. The fourth and final visit was "we don't have the right tools to fix this" they actually wanted me to go to the dealership and get them to do something and then bring it back to Midas and yes then take it back to the dealership for them to do one more thing and THEN bring it back to Midas. Are you kidding me? Finally I just had them pack up my car so I could leave and have the dealership do the entire fix for me. When I got to the dealership not only did they fix that issue in the same day, they had found other issues and were able to fix all of those issues within the promised timeframe. There is a huge difference with the level of skills between a regular shop and the dealership. Not only do the techs have the correct training, they also have the correct tools to do the work. After I got my car back each time I got it back with "white gravel" in the drivers floor board. Grease or oil on the steering wheel. One of the visits I actually had to put the lid back on the battery that was under the passenger front seat because they just left it in the back seat. On the same visit I also had to put the lid back on the trunk of my cargo area because it was also just laying in the backend. On the third visit my dash cam was knocked off the mount and no one claimed responsibility. Yes, I did review the videos and I noticed when they pulled the car into the garage at 9am it was just fine, but after a couple of minutes it was hanging down, because the person pulling it into the garage had knocked it down. Not sure how he didn't notice when he was sitting in the front seat signing "it goes down" or something like that. When I picked up my SUV after 5pm no one knew what had happened to it. I gave this shop way to many chances and in the end it was shame on me for going back so many times. The picture attached is how I had to drive it from Midas to the Dodge dealership so they could finally complete the work that was needed. The manager of the Midas shop did give me back my $100 deductible so I didn't have to pay it twice. Like I said good heart. I will say I do recommend this same shop for oil changes. They have great prices and can get you in and out. However, do not let them touch anything else on your car or you will find yourself chancing them down to get the issues fixed and causing more issues than you went in with. read more

Be aware BEFORE having brake pads installed here. And be aware if using a Groupon coupon for brake pads. They only install pads after MANDATORY turning of the rotors ($40 per wheel), or replacing the rotors altogether, plus installing all new hardware. They claim they go over the additional (mandatory) costs when you make the appointment. I scheduled online, and didn't receive a call informing me of that. I found out after my car was up on the lift. Sure, at that point I could have left and gone elsewhere, wasting my time and the $115 already spent on the Groupon coupon. I bit the bullet and forked out the additional $230. But bye bye Midas. It's like a used car salesman- fool me once, take my money, but you've lost a repeat customer. And you've garnered how much online, and word of mouth, negative exposure. That's really a dumb, shortsighted way to run a business. As a footnote, I have replaced brake pads in the past, I have had brake pads replaced by mechanics, and turning or replacing rotors wasn't automatically required. And there was no squeaking afterwards, or damage to the brake system from not doing anything with the rotors. read more

I have been using Midas in scottsdale for about 3 years. I had an accident with multiple automotive issues. I had purchased tires at discount tire with a warranty. My tires were worn out within a few months. Discount tire would not take care of them. I brought the car back to Midas thinking it might be an alignment issue. They checked the alignment and the suspension, doing a thorough overview of the car. They said the alignment was fine, but out of courtesy, they replaced my tires for free. That was way above and beyond what I ever expected. Sonny is always so attentive and kind. These people are the ultimate professionals. Everyone I have worked with at the desk, including Lisa, has been awesome. I highly recommend these guys. They are honest and fair. read more

Had my ac go out on my truck and then ignition problems at the same time. Dropped off at Midas later that day in the afternoon for repairs and both issues fixed the next day and at a great price! *** DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS LOCATION *** Can you imagine, using a groupon to get a simple oil change and have your car completely ruined? Well it happened to us - we brought our Toyota Sequoia to this Midas shop in January of 2021 for an oil change and after I picked it up, I was able to get to Shea (1.9 miles) and all of the oil was gone and the motor started so seize up. I parked and had this garbage of a shop tow it back to their location. At that point they stated that there was no damage after adding oil.... WRONG! A couple days later there's oil all over my driveway so they offered to have a "master mechanic" look at it and tell us that it is in great working order (I guess he couldn't hear the rod banging) and it should be okay to drive..... WRONG AGAIN - the engine died about a month and half later so we had AAA tow our truck there for another inspection. After having our truck for over a month and having some sort of insurance claim investigation, our claim was denied for "plausible tampering with oil drain plug." No one touched our truck after these incompetent so-called mechanics blew it up. How can these people think that they can get away with this? This is not over as we have now contacted our attorney. read more
