And not just one option... they have 20. I actually bought my very first MacBook from here back in 2012, and I still remember how excited I was walking out of the store with it. That purchase started a whole new chapter for me, and Micro Center has been my go-to ever since. Not everything is in stock. CPU and GPU were mostly out except the mid grade ones like 4060 and 4070. Other location has a whole isle full of chips and GPU. I don't see any open box items either. My husband made the mistake of buyin electronics on amazon because it was convenient. All the items worked except for one item. We did get a refund and I suggested we go to the Micro center, even though it was a long drive away. We were greeted immediately upon walking in. Justin V helped us out. He offered us options that wete cheaper than amazon's option that we originally purchased. They had an even cheaper option that was box opened but we settled for the new mid grade level. We even found a printer too that was really nice. We got both for the price of the one item we found on amazon. They offer 30 day return policy and items have warranties if you want to buy those as well. read more

But then he went and got his manager who came and congratulated my boyfriend (who was just there with me he literally didn't speak to the salesman and was not even paying attention) . It felt pretty misogynistic that he assumed it was my partner's purchase and not mine. I was so irritated I almost dropped the purchase and left but I had been waiting on this to be back in stock for a few weeks and just wanted to get it over with. I used to love Micro center! However, took a computer in to have the fan (The Fan!!!) replace on December 2. As of today January 1, the replacement is still(!) not done. And they can't give me any estimate of when it will be fixed. Cost me $80 for their repair/service department to do nothing. This is not a major repair; this is a fan replacement! I'm very disappointed with Micro Center in Madison Heights. My iPhone failed its battery test, and under my AppleCare+ contract I was advised to have it replaced. Apple directed me to Micro Center, which is listed as an authorized service provider. When I arrived for my appointment, there were five people ahead of me. As I waited, I listened while each of them left frustrated: one with a Samsung device they couldn't service, another who came to pick up his laptop only to find out the replacement screen was no longer available, and another who had spent $3,000 on a desktop but was told he'd have to leave it behind while they figured out what was wrong. When it was finally my turn, they took my iPhone to the back, then returned to tell me they didn't have a replacement battery for my iPhone 12 in stock. Their solution was that I leave my phone there for four days until the part arrived. I had driven 35 minutes to get there, only to find the staff unhelpful and indifferent. The entire experience felt like a waste of time. All I kept hearing from the service desk was, "We can't fix that." Calling it a "service center" is a joke when it doesn't seem like they can actually service anything. I planned on doing some shopping while I was there, but I was so frustrated. I just left. I brought my computer in for potential water damage and it wasn't even looked at for almost a week. With it being possibly water damaged, I was hoping it would take priority due to the fact that once water starts to settle, it can brick the computer. I had to call in multiple times, because I was receiving 0 updates for days. I was lied to on the phone being told they would check my computer on day five. I call in on day six and still no one has looked at it, and they could no longer find my computer in the system without the direct order number (before they could use my phone number). I paid $50 for a diagnosis which I was made to pay upfront; I don't think it's right to pay for a service you have to wait almost a week to get done. It wasn't until I showed up in person to retrieve my PC, because it wasn't being handled in a timely manner, that finally someone looked at my computer and told me it was fine. Waiting six days without my computer being even looked at is unacceptable, especially when I'm in school and use it in my daily life. Once I finally retrieved my computer, I was offered an $80 fee to put my power supply back in; I absolutely declined. Imagine the absolute balls to try and charge someone $130 for poor customer service, untimely diagnosis, and simply wasting a customers time. read more

Would leave negative stars if I could. They can't properly build nor repair a computer. Paid over $3,600 on a new computer that out of the box is the same speed as my 7-year-old $400 laptop. Then components started failing. Liquid cooler fans at LEDs stuck/shorted on. Computer wasn't even a week old and I had to drive another 6 plus hours to have a repair that was in properly done. They replaced the cooler with a completely different brand that they did not tell me. Drive 3 hours home and boot up computer to find out one of the fans is now making a harmonic noise at a specific speed. Now I've got to drive another 6 hours for a repair that could not be properly done and checked. At this point I'm saving myself money and returning everything. read more

I went to Best Buy earlier today because my printer kept jamming. What a waste of time. They had over a dozen printers on display but NONE FOR SALE! All the bins below the display models were empty. They also had no RAM (memory expansion sticks). I knew Microcenter would have everything I needed...and they did. It's a bit of a drive, but worth it. Micro Center has an astounding variety of connectors, adapters, and different sized versions of so many things I can't possibly name them all. This is clearly their strength. I can confidently walk in here and find all of this without having to wonder if they have some odd thing in stock. But, one place where I have been let down more than once is in the online order desk. Placing orders online is not unlike other places: they will notify you when your order is ready to pick up, and you bring in confirmation. But, the trouble starts once you get to the store. But, while Best Buy is efficient with their in-store pick up, Micro Center has the things to learn. There were two people ahead of me today, and for some reason I am still standing here 45 minutes later. There are people scurrying around behind the desk, and disappearing to go elsewhere, and I am still standing here. It's seriously bad enough to make me want to order online, and just wait for the delivery. This is a massive waste of my time, and the time of the people standing behind me. The customer service rep was friendly enough when I finally got to the front, but there was no apology or explanation of why it took so long to process the two people ahead of me. I'm sure they had some weird complicated thing going on, but it explanation would've gone along way. Micro Center is still the gold standard for all your computing needs. I have done business with this location for nearly a decade, especially since they're pretty much the only brick and mortar electronics game in town unfortunately. I have also worked retail for the entirety of my adult life, so i thoroughly understand the trials and tribulations of working retail. I really do. I will never set foot in this location again. The treatment received by their associates today was atrocious and, as much as I hate to say this, racially motivated. The heavyset associate wearing a purple tie snapped and grimaced when I began to approach him. The sheer disgust on his face and his angry "I'm busy" caused me to just.....leave. I am a black female, for context. In addition, their online ordering system and the individual responsible for picking orders completely messed up. EXPENSIVE parts were ordered at noon, once we arrived at 4 we were told to stand and wait for someone to pick the order.....not great because they guarantee 30 min pick times but again, i understand retail difficulty. After waiting an HOUR off to the side, as instructed by the associate, we were told that none of the items ordered are available and basically "tough luck". We overheard another customer being told the exact same response, obviously the job of order picking just isn't being done, and online orders aren't being picked so the items are sold out from under you. If you have any self-respect and/or expect basic human courtesy while shopping, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

So paid for a repair and rebuild. Got my computer back and it had pretty serious issues. It was taking days for them to get back to me and there is no store # to call. Had to deal with online support to get their attention. Also it should be noted that they did not install the motherboard and other misc drivers at this point. The GPU software and driver were installed though. So I take it back to them, and it doesn't seem like they did anything at all. They reinstalled windows, but the issue is that I told them I had did that already and all that did was make the symptoms almost go away for a brief time. Why they would jump straight into making it harder to diagnose, I have no idea. But naturally they didn't fix my computer once again. It didn't seem like they cared and I was just an annoyance. I got home and it started messing up again. At this point I realize they didn't even update the BIOS, despite them specifically telling me they did. They also did not download the GPU software or driver this 2nd time which caused my computer to have even more issues. It still isn't fixed despite me doing what should have been done there. This is extremely disappointing as I always had great experiences at the microcenter in Santa Ana, CA that I used to go to. I decided initially to drive the extra miles due to that. That was a very bad idea and has become a nightmare. I definitely recommend buying parts from microcenter, but I can't recommend their repair dept in Madison Heights which is what my 1 star review is for. ​​ read more

Sorry again 3rd party seller. Pull up B&H ok that works, need to get the manager for approval. Waited another ten minutes for him to show up after the first person said he wasn't going to honor it. He comes and shines me on, double checks B&H (which checks out) sorry I'm not going to sell you the drive for 379.99. Blatant against what they say on the site. "Management has the right to not honor" even though the inland $999.99 similar drive is on sale for 249.99 and the game drive from Seagate on their website is half of their overpriced cost. They didn't honor a Taichi motherboard cost either with the $20 discount for buying the cpu also just recently. Well posting this to hopefully get some attention because I can't find Corporate phone number to make a complaint. Spending thousands no more Madison Heights!!! update 12/13/23. After all the hassle of price matching the price dropped to the matching price like two days later. I was aggravated to the point of going to the BBB at which time I found the corporate phone number and called MC corp office with my complaint. The store assistant manager and manager called me within a couple hours. I called back and spoke with the store manager and she apologized and was going to have a meeting with her staff. She sent an apology late r also in the mail which I really appreciate. So everything is good again but lesson learned? I hope. The thing that I do not like about this store is they have no phone. I live 2 hours away and it's important for me to be able to ask quick questions before I commit to a 4-Hour round trip. Once you get to the store you'll find it extremely well stocked with just about anything computer related. I visited four times, and each time I was happy to find how knowledgeable and helpful all the employees are. My last visit went exceptionally well. An employee saw me wandering and ask if I needed help. I was looking for a refurbished laser printer. It was not on the floor. He said this is not my department but let me see if I can find it. He went in a back room said he found it and asked if I wanted him to bring it out. I did and he did. It was very large and very heavy but he came carrying it out on his shoulder and put it in my cart. I was a little concerned about buying a refurbished unit but when I got it home it was in perfect shape. I assume it was probably a return that someone changed their mind about. It was a very good price. Very happy with the service, the product and the price. I still do not like the fact that I cannot ask a quick question over the phone. I hate going to this store, and I actively avoid it. It is not just the worst microcenter I've ever seen, but the worst electronics store, including what passes for a website. Even Frys in Las Vegas, which was just a warehouse and over half of its inventory nothing but junk, was better organized before its demise. a The store parking lot is full of potholes that could double as tank traps, and bringing this up to the employees or floor managers results in jokes about it and blaming corporate. The Store itself resembles a dollar tree upon entering. A dollar tree manned by one person with boxes and boxes of goods piled everywhere, 1/4 of the store crammed full of bullshit that belongs there or on Amazon. It always stinks, and questions about why or how often they steam the carpets are met with jokes and corporate blaming. The website is never accurate, and questions about its inventory count always result in the same: jokes and corporate blaming. Good luck calling since they delisted their phone number from Google to avoid answering the phone. I asked why, when their inventory management is poor and people have to drive a long distance to get here? Response: more jokes and corporate blaming. Like another person here, I had to call corporate to get them to do their jobs and stop yelling, "We have 700 computers back here to fix!" This came about because, for some strange reason, I thought I would take them up on their "Build a computer within 4 hours of closing" guarantee to get a gift for a friend. The tech department's response was... guess. Just guess what their response was. Naturally, I didn't laugh and called corporate to complain about the unprofessionalism, inability to manage work, and refusal to honor their own policies. Then, I purchased a pre-built from Maingear for the gift instead. A handful of the salesmen are okay. The rest are typical phone gazers who make no effort to seek customers' help and know very little. Thus, you have to politely tell them you'll do it yourself to avoid having the box read to you by another suited monkey or dragged to a computer so they can Google it. My last upgrades were sourced from Best Buy, Amazon, and Newegg, and I could have gotten almost the parts from this Microcenter. I used to shop at Micro Center occasionally and was happy with my experiences with products and services. I haven't really been in the market for electronics products for many years because what I already have keeps working and I don't typically replace something that is working with a newer one just because I can. But recent developments with respect to my nine-year-old (they do exist, and running Windows7) laptop have brought me back to Micro Center. I feel a bit like a technological Rip Van Winkle (you kids can just Google it) because I learned that PCs no longer have CD/DVD drives or HDMI ports. Since I still get material to review on CDs and DVDs for my consulting business, I still must have that capability. So I came into Micro Center on the hunt for accessories for my new PC. For now I found a USB Hub that gives me extra ports and another one that includes an HDMI connection. Being an Engineer, I need to do some more homework before I can get a CD/DVD external drive. But the staff I talked with were very helpful and even spent time explaining and pointing out options for me. read more

They helped me to my car as you can imagine a monitor this size I definitely needed assistance and even navigated it into my small car which I appreciated.
