They have a large selection of everything computer related, including a large selection of USB drives of every capacity you can imagine. Also the cashier was very friendly. TLDR: made me wait 2h30 because they don't use the waitlist system they set up and only served people who luckily walked in while they're present. Paid $50 for cleaning service but keyboards and ports still have dust and crumbs. I went in to get my laptop cleaned because I spilled soda on it. No one was at the tech center service booth at the time, they had a big sign asking people to sign up and get put in waitlist, "walk around, we will call you when it's your turn" they said on that sign lol. I walked around, like they asked, then got into my car to wait, constantly checking the waitlist and after every half an hour, a person got taken off the list so I thought "oh maybe it just takes them that long" 2h30min passed, and the 1 person in front of me was still on that list, I decided to finally walked in and asked, turned out they have been serving anyone who just showed up at the front desk, and these people didn't even have to sign in? This is very unprofessional and time wasting for the customer, why bother setting up a system and putting a sign then not even bother to use it, aren't yall a technology store? So I got my laptop cleaned for $50, the guy confidently said surely it will be ready by the time the store closes, I said sure, I will be back before you guys close. I came back 10' before closing, they didn't have my laptop ready, he had to go to the back and check if it's ready. After a few min, they went out with my laptop and let me picked it up. They said "I cleaned your laptop, I opened it up and we don't see anything, but just use it til it shows problem" lol. I said sure, guess I got lucky and just brought it home. Now that I'm home, after closer inspection myself, I noticed that other than the screen being wiped, the keyboards still have some crumbs underneath, the ports still have dust in them. I came in looking for a monitor Jiri (Jerry) hope I spelled his name correctly helped me. I told him the specs I needed and he asked me for what system which was a PlayStation 5. He explained a lot to me and was able to answer all the questions that I had, then showed me a few options from lowest to premium. I ended up going with a oled RoG monitor. So glad I did, I love my monitor so much it and appreciate his recommendations and expertise. The best part of the store is all the models that I was looking for online were physically in the store, so I could compare and contrast quality. Note that this review is ONLY for the tech center, not the store as a whole. My husband was experiencing issues with his computer (that he built) and took it in for diagnostics because he couldn't see the problem. They said it was one of his newest components, but the real kicker was one of the techs, Mohammed, insinuated my husband was racist by saying, "what, you don't trust me because I'm brown?" People are allowed to be frustrated at the problem. It's not about you. When he took it back a few weeks later (to a different tech), they said they'd have it to him by the end of the day. Called about an hour before closing, they said he's 32nd in the cue despite this being a very simple fix (needed a new part in the end). He was without his computer for over two weeks and had barely moved up in the cue when he decided he was just going to buy the part and do the install himself. When he was waiting in line, he was behind a man who was having the team BUILD HIS WHOLE COMPUTER and they said it would be ready by the end of the day because "we try to have these done in a few hours." When my husband was rightfully upset about it, since he only needed one part replaced, he also found out no one had even looked at his computer, nor had they pulled the part he needed. A simple, 30 minute install (maximum) and he was without his computer for weeks. So between their poor time management and highly unprofessional staff, neither of us will be going back or recommending. read more

It's refreshing to walk into a shop, see the products in person, and actually talk to someone who knows what they're doing. The staff here are always friendly, helpful, and really know their stuff. Whether you're building a PC from scratch or just grabbing a new charger, they treat you with the same respect. Prices are fair, and they even offer price matching if you find something cheaper online, which is a huge plus. It's also in a great spot -- easy access for anyone in the neighborhood, and a lifesaver when you need something quick. Many years ago with purchased warranty from microcenter it was easy to return a computer for store credit. Now they keep your pc for weeks leaving you with no PC for work. They used to be amazing and I have been coming here for decades spending well over hundred thousands of dollars here as a family of four. I'm going to take my business elsewhere moving forward. Recently, on 21 June, 2026, I visited this Micro Center to purchase a computer. I ended up purchasing a Dell computer that cost me $635. My understanding was that I had 15 days to return it if I didn't want it. I returned it the next day on 22 June 2026. I got a receipt for both the purchase and the return. The person who attended me indicated that my refund for $635 should be in my bank account by Wednesday of the following week, on or about 25 June, 2026. On June 27, I still have not received my refund. I went to the store to see what it happened. The people in the store, the same person who had bought the laptop from looked at me and said it should be in your account in the next couple of days. Somebody who might have been his superior, added that I should check with my bank to see what's going on with my money. I am LIVID AND I WANT MY $635 BACK. I've always respected Micro Center for computer parts and great in-store help, but my recent experience showed a very different side -- and I feel it's important to warn others, especially those who may drive from far away or trust the warranty process without knowing how it really works. I used my screen protection warranty for my TV and received $949 in credit, plus about $90 from an Xbox controller return. I paid the rest using my own card. I was told the protection plan would be $219, and that if there were any issues with the open-box TV, I could bring it back for an easy exchange. At checkout, I was suddenly charged $250 for the protection plan -- not the $219 that was clearly quoted to me. When I asked about it, I was told I "must have misunderstood," even though I had the original paperwork. When I got home and carefully unboxed the TV, I immediately noticed damage in the top-left corner. I returned the very next morning expecting a simple swap, as promised. Instead, I was denied. The manager said the employees were "wrong," and that I had misunderstood how the warranty worked. I asked for a corporate or GM contact, but they refused to provide any name or number. Later, another manager admitted that the same TV model was available in new condition, but said I'd have to pay the full new price if I wanted it -- after earlier being told there were none in stock. I was then pushed into taking a gift card and told to buy a different model. That was not what I came for, nor what I was promised. To make things worse, I never received my full $949 credit. Somehow, part of my warranty credits went missing. I paid the difference on my card, which was refunded, but the total still didn't add up. The whole situation raised serious questions about how Micro Center handles used, traded-in, and returned parts or devices. It's not transparent at all. You don't know what's truly been inspected, what's been repaired, or what condition something is actually in. And for anyone driving hours to a store, being forced to come back again and again is incredibly frustrating. Just imagine -- this was an open-box TV, something that should have been inspected before being sold. Many customers, especially first-time buyers or those who aren't tech-savvy, would have no idea what to look for or how to test something before leaving the store. The most common response you'll hear is: "Take it home, and if there's any issue, bring it back. We've got you covered." But in reality, they don't have you covered. You can easily end up stuck with a damaged product, pressured to buy something more expensive, or forced to settle for something you never wanted. If you shop here, be extremely cautious with open-box or refurbished products. The warranty process is very different from new purchases, and they treat you differently too. Always double-check every detail, every number, and get things in writing before paying. And for anyone thinking of buying something big like a TV -- it might honestly be safer and cheaper to buy new somewhere else that will actually stand by their word and give you the support you deserve. I never thought I'd say this, but Micro Center is great for parts -- not for TVs or warranties. My experience was frustrating, misleading, and costly. My trust in Micro Center has declined due to the issues I had when I took my laptop (purchased in 2019 from a different vendor) to the service center for a battery replacement. Microsoft has a program (powercfg /batteryreport that is run from "CMD") that evaluates a battery's capability of charging. The report showed that the battery could only be charged to 25% of its original capability and had 150 charging cycles. I attempted to change the battery myself, but after removing the back-cover screws, I couldn't remove the cover to access the battery. I went online to locate an authorized repair company. The closest company was Micro Center. On January 10, 2026, I took the laptop to Micro Center to have the battery replaced. I gave the service center rep the printed report from the powercfg program and said I needed the battery replaced. The rep stated that diagnostics had to be run first before any repairs or replacement could start. In my mind, an unnecessary step since I knew the problem, but I understood why they wanted to run diagnostics ($50 charge). On January 12, I received a text stating I needed a replacement battery. The cost would be $99.99 for the battery and a $50 labor charge. I approved the charges. The overall cost would be $199.99 plus tax. Since the laptop is nearly 7 years old, they had difficulty finding a replacement battery. On January 21, I received a text stating the laptop was ready for pickup. On January 22, I went to Micro Center and paid for the battery replacement and received the old battery, which I would recycle. The charge was only $100 plus $6 tax. With the old battery was a shipping invoice for the replacement battery. The invoice stated the replacement battery cost $53 from an eBay vendor. I assumed that the replacement battery was less expensive than expected and I was charged $47 for the labor. That created some goodwill. However, when I ran the powercfg program, the report stated the replacement battery could only be charged to 33% of its original capability and had 136 charging cycles. I immediately called Micro Center and asked if the battery was supposed to be new or used. It was supposed to be new. On January 30, I returned to Micro Center to have the replacement battery replaced. I was within the 90-day return range, so the battery was under the store warranty. They ran diagnostics again (no charge). The result was the replacement battery was defective and they found '4 infections with 5 traces'. To replace the replacement battery, they wanted the original missing labor charge ($40 instead of $50 ???) and $100 to remove the infections. I balked about the labor charge and said I would remove the infections myself. After getting nowhere with the company, on February 2, I informed them I would just take the laptop back, and they would do no work on it. Later in the same afternoon, I received a text stating I would receive a partial refund and they would run a malware scan for no charge because of my inconvenience. Also on February 2, I ordered a battery from Amazon for a cost of $40.27. On February 3, I picked-up the laptop, and the battery from Amazon arrived. After a more through Internet search, I found a video showing how to remove the back panel of the laptop. It took me less than 20 minutes to install the new battery. I ran the powercfg program and the battery could be charged to 100% of the original battery's factory specifications. I ran malware scans using programs from different vendors. There was no sign of any infection. I'm happy with my decision. I know where the battery came from, I know it is new, and it took less than 24 hours from ordering the new battery to installing and testing the new battery. My issues with Micro Center repair service are the following: * Installing a battery from an eBay vendor without testing it * The length of time to acquire a replacement battery and install it - 11 days * Not finding the infections while running the first diagnostic (I have an information security background. My computers are behind 2 firewalls. I powered-on the laptop with the replacement battery, ran the powercfg program, used a browser to review the results, saved the results, printed the results, and then powered-off the laptop, then contacted Micro Center. The browser did use an Internet connection). The odds are very low that the infections were loaded on the laptop in the short time the laptop was powered on. * As of February 19, I have not received any refunds nor credit card credits * In total, I spent $156 at Micro Center for a diagnostic scan which I really didn't need, a defective laptop battery, and a complementary malware scan and removal. Then an additional $40.27 at Amazon for a battery that I installed myself. read more

This is a tough one. I want to go buy a new laptop and the sales girl was amazing! She was friendly knowledgeable and definitely engaging. So for the sales portion, five stars. I went back to pick it up the next day and that part is where it loses stars. I specifically asked if I could basically take my laptop for a test drive there to make sure I knew how to operate everything because I'm not that technologically savvy. They told me of course. Basically they called my name handed me my box and everyone went back into a room and never resurfaced. I could hear them all laughing and having fun back there, but there are customers on the other side waiting for service and they did not seem to care about that at all. I ended up walking back there myself and asking for help and was treated like I was bothering them. I ended up just bringing the laptop home myself because I did not want to stand there and feel like I was a burden after I just paid $1700 for a computer! I ran into all kinds of problems once I came home and I couldn't figure out how to do things so then, of course that ends up in a phone call with someone trying to help me over the phone. They did apologize for the treatment that I got in person, and eventually they got me set up all right over the phone. But it should not have come to that. read more

We dropped off my daughter's keyboard at Microcenter Fairfax on June 30. It took 27 days, heated conversations with Manager Dan Robinson and 3 more hours before they gave this Lenovo Yoga laptop back. The techs strung me along. First they promised to get right on it. Then the keyboard replacement arrived broken. When the next one arrived, I was informed that I was 9th in the queue. Then they promised to get right on it again because I should be first in the queue. Did not hear back. 2 days later, I informed Microcenter that I was coming in to pick up the laptop. The tech said 'No! It is not ready.' two days later I went to Microcenter. After much heated talk and 3 hours, they gave me the laptop. This is customer abuse. Beware of the service center. The customer service was good and the salesman helped us find the desktop we needed and brought it to us and placed it in our shopping cart from the warehouse. After waiting, I was told my appointment had been canceled without any notification because the battery health (91%) didn't meet their internal threshold. I explained that I had already gone through the full diagnostic process with Apple Support, and the replacement was authorized based on my use case as a business owner--someone who relies on their phone daily in the field. The staff didn't seem to care. A manager named Majid eventually came out and curtly told me that Micro Center does not honor AppleCare battery replacements under these conditions, despite the fact that Apple scheduled the appointment at their location. He was dismissive and offered no resolution. The fact that he appeared so quickly after being told no one was available earlier only added to the frustration. This was not just a scheduling error--it was a complete failure in customer service. No communication, no accountability, and a clear unwillingness to collaborate with AppleCare. Nutley Street Pan Am MicroCenter "Knowledge Center" is actually the "Knowledge Digital Black Hole." It's the MicroCenter way or the highway. I went in with a cracked laptop screen that needed to be replaced.... Here was the rude counter employees story line: "You have to give up your computer for 5-7 days while we order the part." "Why do you need it for 5-7 days if it's a screen part? Can I bring it when you have the part?" "We need to run diagnostics." "I don't need diagnostics - I need a piece of hardware." That's the way we do it. Oh and he reminded me that there are at least 30 customers ahead of me for "running diagnostics" so it may take even longer. "Can I make an appointment and bring in my laptop when you are ready to work on my computer?". No - that's not the way it works here. It's okay. Unfortunately I'm not sure how long it'll be around, but Best Buy and online places are eating away at its products. Hoping they'll answer here, but the employees seem to be rather aggressive. As a man with sales experience, I'm wondering if this is part of the reasoning behind that. Commission is useful in other sales positions, but I've found this to be borderline with how pushy the folks are. This isn't to say they are horrible people, but not necessarily the comfortable shopping experience. As for their computers, they do offer competitive pricing sometimes. When they have an excellent sale, look here as it might have the best deal. To the stores credit it's clean and well organized. Parking at Pan Am Shopping Center, all I'll say is be ready to protect yourself, as close spacing and lots of people/cars. This isn't my favorite spot for technology, but it's far from the worst. Terrible Experience - Unprofessional, Condescending, and a Faulty PC Build I had an absolutely terrible experience at this MicroCenter location after spending $6,800 on a high-end custom-built PC. What should have been a smooth process turned into a frustrating mess, filled with poor communication, dismissive service, and a defective product. At first, the sales rep was great--knowledgeable and helpful in putting together a build for my rendering needs. Most parts were in stock, except for the GPU, which was back-ordered. From that point, things went completely off the rails. For over a week, I received more than 10 automated text messages falsely telling me my PC was ready. Every time I called to confirm, I was told to ignore the messages because they were sent automatically--yet they kept coming. Finally, after my GPU arrived, I returned to complete my purchase and pick up the PC. Less than 24 hours later, it wouldn't even boot into Windows properly. It would either freeze at BIOS, randomly lose display output, or only function in safe mode. I updated drivers, but nothing helped. When I called, I was told to either bring it back or contact tech support. Service Desk Disaster When I brought the PC in for service, I immediately witnessed how disorganized and unhelpful the staff was. An elderly couple in front of me was struggling with the sign-in system, and rather than assist them, the employees simply told them to sign in and walked away. After waiting, I was skipped in line by someone who had an online appointment--something I was never told was even an option. When I finally got to a service tech, he was dismissive and condescending from the start. His first comment after looking at the PC wasn't about fixing the issue but criticizing the build itself, saying, "I would never have recommended two DDR RAM sticks." Mind you, MicroCenter's own team designed this build. Instead of focusing on the problem, I was put on the defensive. After a few tweaks, he got Windows to load and smugly said, "Well, I got it to load just fine," as if the issue was my fault. When I pointed out that this was an ongoing, known issue, he brushed it off with sarcasm and told me they'd "diagnose it." Refusal to Refund a Broken PC When I called for a status update, I was met with rudeness again. The service rep told me the PC was "being diagnosed" and that I "should have known that from the text." I never received a text beyond a vague "heads up" message. When I pointed that out, he simply hung up on me. At this point, I had lost all confidence in MicroCenter's ability to fix the issue, so I chose to return the PC entirely. That's when they hit me with yet another issue--they refused to refund the full amount, deducting charges for labor and the Windows license, even though the system never functioned properly. When I asked for written proof of this policy, the employee couldn't find it and had no clear answer. Final Thoughts This was, hands down, one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. From false notifications and rude service reps to a dismissive attitude and a refusal to take responsibility, this location has serious problems. If you're considering buying a high-end PC here, think twice.
