They fixed my problem and as they had to order a part after a first try, I wasn't charged for the part. Thanks!

Spilled water on expensive PC, fixed within a week. Great customer service and funny video made out of it!

Ask the Community - The Eldest Geek

I have 3 Mac desktop computers and one older MacBook. The 3 Macs won't power on (they are 3-6 years old) Do you buy impaired older items such as these?

Crrtainly! Bring them by ill take a look! As to value we have to see!

Hi all! I would like to trade in my custom computer cos i wanna change to a laptop. Does eldest geek buy used computers?

Certainly bring it by the shop!

Craig I saw the horrible news about your store going up in flames with the shop. I hope the claims/insurance runs smoothly. Where do the folks who had their computers being worked on during the fire submit a claim?

Contact us we are NOT out of business just homeless for a while working out of our cars More time for housecalls!

He even met me at Springfield Plaza for the drop-off, and when he drove off, I thought "I just gave my laptop to some guy off the internet in the Panda Express parking lot." No worries, because I went to his home for the pickup, and he hadn't left town with it. I've since upgraded to a Toshiba Chromebook as my primary laptop, but that 12-year-old Macbook is still alive. I called Daryl earlier this year when I was having problems with the Toshiba, and we talked over some options for bringing it in, or possibly fixing it myself. He gave me some good suggestions, and said he'd do the repair at a reasonable price if I ran into trouble. I ended up tracking down a very minor problem and taking care of it myself. I wish there were more people who are as pleasant and helpful as Daryl. I have complete confidence in him.

First, apparently, he DELETED ALL OF THE PHOTOS I HAD ON THE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. I hired him fix a thumb drive gone bad; lots of travel photos that I wanted to keep. I gave him an external hard drive to put recovered photos on. I already had a slew of travel photos on the external drive as well. Aside from accidentally charging more for the deposit and more for the remainder of the payment, I just realized that he deleted ALL of the photos I already had stored on my external drive. I had travel photos from Iceland, Greenland, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Italy, Greece, Colombia, Egypt, and Jordan. Gone. All gone. I'm trying to recover these files now on my own. Something I wish I did the first time. Why in the world would you just delete 10 folders holding thousands of photos? As far as I'm concerned, dude just walked into my house and set fire to all my photo albums. Worse, I have no "negatives" from which I can reprint them. Gone forever. Thanks a lot.
