I found Mount Vernon Computer Repair in the mist of a crisis with my work laptop. I had accidentally caused water damage and was panicked that I'd not only destroyed my laptop but lost all my important files. Working with Daryl was great. He called me back promptly, examined and diagnosed my computer all in the same day. He runs a very honest business and explained that the damage was so extensive it would be more affordable to replace the laptop. Luckily my data could be saved which was a relief. I work for a non profit that assists our wounded service members and we work tirelessly to ensure 94 cents of every dollar goes to our mission. Though his price was very fair, my organization had decided that it was in our best interest to wait on purchasing any data recovery services. When I explained the situation to Daryl he researched our organization and decided to donate his time and services to save my files. I was speechless at his generosity. He single handedly recovered all my files and allowed me to continue working without missing a beat. I had all my files back within less than 24 hours!! I called Daryl on a Sunday morning desperate for data recovery on my external hard drive that I had dropped. After leaving a message, he called me back very quickly and offered to do a same day restoral. When I dropped off the HD he offered to let me come into his office while he did an inital diagnostic. He explained the process and told me he would be in touch ASAP. A few hours later he called me back informing me that he had recovered 100% of my files and that I could pick up my HD at my earliest convenience. Mount Vernon Computer Repair is AMAZING. Daryl is awesome, hands down. I suspected the motherboard on my laptop was fried so I shot him an email and within a few hours we were talking. We scheduled a quick meet and greet for the same day (around 3pm) and he called me with a diagnosis at 7pm the same night. The diagnostics fee was half that of any other place I knew of and the speed at which he took care of my problem was insane. He quoted me a more than fair price to transfer all of my data and even offered to buy my laptop for parts (it was pretty much dead and of no use to me). Daryl is an absolute lifesaver! The hardrive of my all-in-one desktop crashed and there was no way for me to know what to do. My friend recommended him to me, and I'm so glad she did! My wife's Mac hard drive crashed and the Apple store couldn't retrieve files. Did a google search and came across Daryl. Gave him a call, dropped off the laptop later that afternoon and he had an honest assessment later that night. The hard drive was non-functioning and data was non-recoverable. I know how to use computers but I don't know how to fix them. When my desktop stopped working smoothly a friend recommended Daryl to me. I took him the computer and in less than an hour he had it diagnosed and fixed. It was a failed hard drive, which he promptly swapped out. I used to work at office supply stores and I know this would have cost hundreds of dollars and taken much longer. I had a hard drive failure a while back and most places in the area wanted to charge me about $150 JUST to see if my data was recoverable. Daryl looked at two drives for me and told that one was recoverable, then proceeded to recover it for the price of what someone what to charge JUST to check it. He doesn't mind answering questions and engaging with the client. As with any technology, one never really knows what the issue might be that is causing the problem. At the outset, Omid thought it might be the fuser but after testing the printing using the bypass paper tray, and the print job completing, he quickly ruled out it being a fuser issue. At this point he did some research on his phone and then did a soft reset on the printer. Unbelievably it resolved my printer printing issue that I was having from using the main paper tray. He couldn't be sure as to why the printer settings were corrupted and had to be reset, but who cares at this point because I had been faced with buying a fuser, a new printer or any other expensive part. Most importantly I didn't have to continue going to the library to print anymore at $.15/page. I highly recommend Omid and his company.

I called tecky multiple times telling them my laptop was working for a few minutes and then died completely. I've used 2 different new chargers and it still doesn't work. They want to Charge me again, I already paid $200 for what they said was just plugging it in and it worked for them. When I first called back they didn't try to come and look at the laptop again. And today when I called they basically said it was my fault and hung up on me. They hung up on me. I gave them a chance, wasted $200 dollars and now they want me to pay more for the same problem. Unless you have a degree in computers, even if you do, don't waste your time with them. Unprofessional and a Waste of Time. I even gave them a $18 tip!! Don't waste your time!!!

For my most recent repair, they picked up my macbook from my home, replaced the battery, and delivered it back to me in, no exaggeration, 2 hours start to finish. (I didn't pay any extra rush charge or even say I was in a hurry or anything.) I don't think I've had a repair anywhere else that was faster than like 2-3 days before I got the computer back. Another time I asked about a very specialized problem that they don't deal with, and they were totally upfront about not doing it and directed me to someone who could help. Also a great sign. And both repairs are still working great, so good quality as well. I'm going to be sticking with Techy for any future repairs!
