Would like to say Richard is great! He fixed my burned out component on a ten year old HP Desktop. He ordered the parts and had it up and running in about five days after the part was delivered, might be early since I did not remember the exact days. Hopefully he will be still around for a while since most people can only replace the entire motherboard and not just the components. read more

ABC Computers Repair - Text conversation with Richard. - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

This business is fantastic and very fast. The best part of their service is they come RIGHT to your door which was extremely worth it for me! I had a broken laptop screen and Richard fixed it within five business days. It would have been only a couple of days if the wrong part hadn't been sent. Anyhow he was professional and the actual cost was exactly what he quoted me. Do not hesitate to call them. This was the best computer service I've had in years. read more

ABC Computers Repair - Broken screen - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

Richard might be a computer repair Angel sent to earth. My whole livelihood is based around my desktop so when it went down I went into a panic. I was so relieved to have been able to contact ABC Repairs. The countless 5 star reviews are proof of his quality of service and the value at which he provides it. I felt confident my computer was in good hands. He was able to identify the problem immediately. He ordered the correct parts and the day it came in he was able to put the PC back in my hands. He went above and beyond for me and even installed the extra ram I had. I really cannot say enough good things about the experience. Forget Geek Squad, or any corporate company offering the same services at triple the rate. He is local and you cannot beat his office hours. read more

Agreed to the project price and date of service. On date of service, called to say he was too far to make the appointment and I agreed to re-schedule for the next morning. On the date and time of the re-scheduled appointment, no contact was made. No call, text or anything; ghosted. Would recommend using another business since this one is not reliable based upon my experience. read more

Fast service. Honest. Didn't charge me, recommended against me paying for repairs and instead suggested buying something new. Trustworthy

You know. I have to hand it to Richard, it took a while but damn did he fix my computer when it had the screen messed up from airport security messing with it. Laptop screens on older models are difficult to source and can be really hard to deal with so I respect that he was able to find the right one and get it fixed. One star off becaude of some glaring communication issues and another off because of how long it took without proper ETA. BUT I'm rounding up to 4 stars besides that because he saved me having to get a new laptop and he was genuinely good about getting it fixed even when I had written it off as a complete loss because the screens he originaly sourced didn't work correctly but he was determined to get the right parts. If you have a problem noone else will fix and don't mind waiting, genuinely, he will get the job done or try his hardest to do so. Very honest and hard working man despite having issues communicating. read more

First of all, let me just say I am a Tech/Nerd guy and I built a brand new PC from scratch back in April. Ever since I built my PC my computer kept randomly restarting. I did everything I could to fix the problem, I tweaked my bios, GPU and software settings based on all the google search I done and to no avail, the problem still persisted. I then started replacing my hardware one by one, upgraded a new GPU, new PSU, new RAM, new Mobo and the problem was still there. I was losing my mind because normally I would fix other people's computers if they needed help and I couldn't figure out why my new PC build was acting funny. My last resort was to call up a PC Repair guy, I always been skeptical about repair shops like Geek Squad and other repair shops because I been a help-desk guy before and all they do is google searches and over-charge on work that could easily be fixed. I was so frustrated because I dumped a lot of money in new hardware, I decided to look on yelp for reputable reviews and came across Rich's website. I requested a quote from Rich through yelp and he responded within an hour and even offered to come by my house to do an estimate. To my surprise Rich showed up early and was a very friendly and outgoing guy, he didn't seem shady as pre-conceived by me at all. Again, I am skeptical about pc repair guys so I tested Rich on his knowledge about my set-up and Rich dived right into my computer and started pointing out stuff to me and explaining things to me in a very simple manner even though he knew I was a tech guy, I appreciated him walking me through step-by-step of his diagnosis. Rich is very genuine and even called me out on a few elite stuff I do that can be harmful to my computer but was not judgemental at all. Rich gave me a very reasonable quote and off he went with my computer to fix my security issues, re-format and re-install my windows, reinstall my new mobo and re-install my PSU platinum 1000w. I didn't really need to do the re-installs but I wanted it done professionally and properly since I am paying for a PC Repair. Within 24 hours, Rich returned with my new pc better than ever. He fixed the security compromise on my computer and my new rig layout was super clean. He even added a thermal pad for my SSD Card and made it super clean. My software was all up-to-date with extra add-ons he installed that really impressed me because he knew what I liked and was able to find the right tools for my computer to stay strong in the future. He really did impress me and now I am happy to say I that I will 100% recommend Rich any day to my friends and family who need a pc fix. I will use Rich again in the future because I have an extra laptop that could use some repair and when I upgrade my new rig to be bigger and better, I told Rich I will call him again. A++ service, he really does give you the VIP treatment, trust the reviews everyone, he is worth it!! read more

Richard came to our house to fix the computer that I had inadvertently splashed water upon the keyboard. He diagnosed and fixed our computer in the same day....he is reliable and honest and he makes you feel comfortable right away. I will always use this company for my computer repair needs. read more

Horrible. I never write reviews but I had to share my experience with Richard so you have a full picture rather than the 5 star visual that I saw. I gave him my computer a month ago he hasn't one texted me about it, I have had to reach out to him multiple times trying to get updates on my computer. His communication is horrible, you'll be chasing him for information. I am so frustrated, luckily I have my husbands laptop to use but if I didn't I would be in a big trouble. I would just go for a company than Richard because if he doesn't text you back what can you do! read more

had a lap top computer charging issue. contacted ABC and they responded quickly. Richard contacted me, and to my surprise, came by my house within the hour to pick up the laptop, on a Sunday night no less. he performed diagnostics, fixed the issue, and even did some free software upgrades on my computer for me. He came back the next day and dropped off the computer to my house. nice guy, great service, and even delivers. will use them again. read more

Richard very very professional and good technician. He took 2 MacBooks, first one was after water damage and the second with HDD reading problem. Richard returned it in 30 hours and all the way kept me updated. So he fixed second one and did everything to fix water damaged one. So I'm happy to deal with this guy again. Thanks read more

We contacted ABC Computer Repair on a Friday evening for an issue I had with my desktop. I was not expecting the fast turn around I received when I received the call from the technician. Very friendly, kept ups posted on his time of arrival and arrived on time. He is very knowledgeable on all things electronic and fixed our computer issue on site within an hour. While waiting on my desk top to boot up we received advise and a price quote for a media installation we are considering and will contact this company for any future services. read more

Really great service. I had to look beyond the Apple store to diagnose a problem with my 2009 macbook pro that they would no longer service. I found this business based on some great reviews I read from Google. The hours of operation work well and Richard came to pick up the computer, gave a complimentary diagnosis of the problem and a fair estimate to repair and my options to consider. I would highly recommend and use again. read more

Definitely deserves 5 stars. Richard was prompt to reply via text and coordinated a time to pick up an older MacBook with a corrupted hard drive that Apple would not even consider servicing, since they considered it to be "vintage". Not only did he replace the failed hard drive, but found the battery was also failing and made a second visit to replace that as well. Great experience and will definitely call for any future computer repair needs! read more

ABC Computers Repair - Richard swapping out a defunct MacBook battery on site - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

Richard is the best!!! Came to my house, picked up my laptop and had it back to me before the end of the day. Better than Amazon's same day service. Great service for a great price. Thank you Richard. read more

Flew into the area and needed emergency repair. After a short call "ABC" had a repair technician meet me at my hotel and complete a short diagnostic to diagnose the issue (grinding fan noise causing overheating). Within 24 hours my laptop was back in my hands, like new. They even went the extra mile to inform me of a battery swelling issue in the lithium battery cells and offer repairs so there would be no issues on my flight home. Incredible service! read more

I was working on my laptop over the weekend, walked away from it with the intention of finishing up later in the afternoon. Upon revisiting the job at hand, I came back to a black screen with a blinking icon. The laptop was, for the most part, non-responsive. So... went to Yelp to gather some feedback / insight as I don't know of any techs in the area. I can echo a lot of the sentiments on the reviews I've read and cannot express how pleasantly surprised I am with the work I received. From the point of contact, to my data recovery - stellar. Richard came to my residence the same day as my call for help, diagnosed the problem in less than 30 minutes and was able to rescue all of my data. His price was competitive as well; I did not feel like I was getting ripped off and I was in a fairly vulnerable position. I have already relayed my experience and given his name to a few of my friends and colleagues. While I hope they do not experience any computer issues, they know of a competent individual who can solve them :-) read more

I had an old desktop that would not boot up and I was not ready to retire it yet. Was not able to self diagnose the problem despite heavy research online so it was time to call in an expert. Requested a quote and had an immediate response within a few minutes notifying me that Richard was assigned to my case. Spoke with Richard over the phone and after explaining the process, he came over that day to check on the computer. Very knowledgeable and quickly located the issue, my SSD was formatted incorrectly. He suggested that if I do not have any valuable information on the drive it would be cheaper to just get a new one on my own which I did. He was very polite and helpful, no salesy vibes and did not offer me anything that I did not need. Much appreciated! Bonus: He also followed up a week later to make sure the problem was resolved. Talk about service! read more

Richard will be our go to for any computer repairs. Honest and reliable. My laptop wouldn't turn on and we contacted him on a Saturday morning. He came and picked it up that afternoon and returned it all fixed first thing Monday morning. He's exceptional both from a technical standpoint and a service standpoint. Very reasonable price to fix it as well. Can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you Richard! read more

Amazing, fast service. Solved the problem immediately. Highly recommend. Really takes care of his customers, very conscientious!

Bottom line Richard is amazing. Yelp needs more stars for service this good. Great value for the price, don't go to a big box store guys like him deserve your money far more and will do you better service. ASUS laptop ate it's motherboard. He tried to replace unsucessfully due to bad electronics, but didn't give up even when I did....to my surprise when I came home from a long work trip and a vacation he had it all fixed up. Completely restored all my hard drive and data ect. Many months later I'm tying this from the same device. Picked up & dropped off very friendly, knowledgable. Reponds to text/phone calls incredibly fast. I know as I'm a network systems engineer. Just didn't have time to mess with laptop hardware so gave it to a real pro. read more

This guy is a genius and works fast and cheap! Had to get a printer installed for our network. As a form MCP myself I was stumped!! Within two visits he diagnosed and fixed the problem for so cheap!! Def recommend this company and Richard! Worth every penny read more

I highly recommend ABC Computers Repair. My relatively new laptop froze, and Richard was at my house within two hours after I requested help. He diagnosed the problem very quickly, and I had the laptop back and working 24 hours later. He taught me some new ways to organize my work, some shortcuts, and more. The price was very reasonable. He was also a delightful person! read more

Fantastic service and lots of communication. Only issue is I wasn't informed of the price of the service when they did a last minute save attempt which worked, yay!!! So I had no idea what the price was until he showed up to deliver. But minor complaint really in the grand scheme of things. The computer was restored and life was back to normal, so very grateful to this service and other Yelpers who reviewed allowing me to find ABC! read more

10/18/2020 - Walked off of the job and never completed the repair. Has not returned phone calls. I am going to contact the City of Alexandria Department of Consumer Affairs, check on the status of their business license and file a complaint. 10/20/2020 - A disgruntled computer repair person not a patient. He wanted to be paid in advance and then did not finish the work he agreed to do. My fault for paying him most of the money before the work was finished. If he really wanted to resolve the issue, he would return my phone calls, set up an appointment for a service call and complete the work. 10/22/2020 - I contacted Dell, bought a 16GB memory stick, watched a six minute video on YouTube, then upgraded my new computer and finished the installation myself. Do not waste your time and hard earned money on ABC Computer Repair, they are undependable, not concerned with creating a good customer experience and really let me down. read more

They were FANTASTIC!!! My daughter threw a water balloon on my labtop and he fixed it, got me a new keyboard and picked my labtop up at my home and dropped it off at a convenient time. I will recommend this service and Richard to all of my friends. I'm SOOOOOOO happy with the service and the results!!! I have tried other computer repair companies, but this, by far is the best!!! read more

My laptop charging port broke when I dropped my laptop with the cord plugged into it. Richard was able to replace the port saving me from having to do a total replacement. I was on a short turnaround between work trips- he even dropped it off at my office! :) I recommend for competence, reliability, and customer service. read more

Can be very convenient, as in he comes to your place and can diagnose problems at home or take the laptop with him and return it the next day. Unfortunately though, Richard was late for both appts we had set up, showing up an hour late for the first one without the right tool to open my laptop (how does that happen??), so we had to reschedule for the next day. Next day he was 3 hours late for the appt with hardly any communication that it would take so long. He took apart my computer relatively quickly and got the gunk out of my fans, but seemed in a rush to be done (it's not my fault he was 3 hours late, I have things to do also). It was a free diagnosis, so that was nice, but he didn't really resolve my full problem and wasn't able to find the right fans for my laptop so I found them myself (fairly easily) for cheap and went to someone else. read more

I am very impressed with the service I received. The convenience of having them pick up and deliver to your house can't be beat. ABC's repair quote was in line with all the others I received through Yelp. I picked ABC because of the mobile option and I am glad I did, because the service was 5-star. My computer is now running great and Richard took the time to walk me through the updates and provided me with some smarter computing techniques. I will use this company again (if needed). read more

I called today and the owner is amazing!! I was able to talk through the best way to back up my documents from an external hard-drive that had crashed and add a cloud service. I literally am so grateful. I'm a small business owner who works with students and doctoral candidate who moved to Alexandria, VA from Boston, MA and I have found local tech support who has been more than helpful! I will be keeping him on speed dial and would use his services again. I highly recommend ABC Computers Repair. read more

Richard is the best! Last weekend, my laptop suddenly stopped charging. I took it to GeekSquad and they said they couldn't fix it and would have to send it out, meaning I'd be without a computer for 2-3 weeks. I panicked, because I work from home two days a week and really need my computer. I then called Dell customer service, and they said it would be $150 to send a technician out, plus at least $250 for the part, which I thought was outrageous. A friend suggested I try a local repair shop, so I turned to Yelp for help in finding one. I saw how highly ABC Computers Repair was rated and all the great reviews, and gave Richard a call. He came over right away to pick up my computer, even though it was a Sunday night, and texted me the next day with an estimate and explanation of what was wrong with it. It was fixed by the next morning and he came by my apartment to drop it off. The whole process was so easy and less than half the price Dell was going to charge. Thank you, Richard! You saved the day! read more

Richard fixed 3 of our Macs that were fixed by another computer repair company, but they continued to have problems. When I initially contacted Richard, I asked him if he could service Macs, which he said he could do, plus it was mentioned in several of his reviews that he worked on Apple products. My iMac had been in storage for 1 year and our 2 Macbooks were all running very slow. Richard came to our house, talked with us at length about the issues we were having and brought them back 3 days later. He would have brought them back sooner, but we weren't home to receive them. He did a great job of getting them to work - they were no longer sluggish, no more spinning rainbow wheel, and much quicker. And no data loss! He was reasonably priced and we were even able to use the Yelp deal he was offering towards our repairs. He does great work at a reasonable price and he's very customer service oriented. Highly recommend Richard! read more

My graphics card went bad on my macbook and Richard had to replace my motherboard because the graphics card is attached to the motherboard. When he initially replaced my motherboard it went bad again in a couple of days. So Richard had to order another brand new motherboard for my macbook. Richard placed the order the week before Christmas and because it was the holidays I did not know when I would get my macbook back. I told Richard that I needed to have a working laptop (windows or mac) because I had school and other projects I needed to work on. He understood and gave me his personal macbook pro to use for the 3 weeks I did not have my laptop. I was not expecting him to propose that idea at all. But I took him up on his offer because he honestly told me that he did not know when he would get the new motherboard from the vendor, so therefore he did not want me to be without a laptop. I appreciated Richard's honesty and willingness to put the customer first. This is what great customer service is all about. I am glad I found Richard when my graphics card went bad because he has been nothing short of AMAZING! I wish I could give him 10 stars, but google only lets me give him five haha. For anyone that has any hardware or software issues with their pc or mac, CALL RICHARD because he will definitely take care of you. THANK YOU RICHARD! YOU'RE THE MAN! read more

I'd been putting off diagnosing what was wrong with my laptop, limping by relying on my smartphone. Richard G. arrived the same day I requested service, quickly diagnosed the problem, and gave me options (including estimates). I decided to replace my old laptop. Richard came back the next day to set up my new laptop and printer and to migrate the data from my external hard drive to the new laptop. He was courteous, professional, efficient, competent, and (very importantly for someone like me who is proficient at using working technology, but can't really troubleshoot when there's a problem) not even the tiniest bit of a know-it-all. He gave me my old hard drive, removed another one from an even older laptop for me, and recycled both laptops and my old printer. I'd recommend Richard to anyone who doesn't have the time, energy, inclination, or acumen to sort out technology issues and just wants everything to work. read more

Very speedy hassle free computer repair. Will be my go to firm for any computer issues.
