Disclaimer: I also shared this review on Google because I'm too lazy to write a completely new one…read more My trusty laptop of 7 years was starting to die on me, and I desperately needed it to be repaired ASAP. IQ Services reached out so fast after I had put out a request on Yelp, and they even picked it up from me! Marcus was a gem and helped send over some files that I wasn't able to back up before handing him my laptop. He definitely went above and beyond. He was extremely responsive, and I got my laptop back and sheeee isss looking cutee!!! It's like I have a brand-new laptop. To be transparent with costs and services: I paid for a diagnosis ($99), a new battery ($52), and repairs/replacements for my keyboard, webcam, computer screen, and whatever else was messed up ($399). Even though it seemed like a lot, it really is not when you think about the context. --I got to keep my 7-year-old computer that I LOVE, and now it feels brand new. A new laptop with the exact same processor/ram would've killed my bank account. I also live in NYC usually, and I KNOW this would've been WAY more. --I know NOTHING about fixing computers. While I can do YouTube searches to do minor software troubleshoots, I don't even know how to open up a laptop to see what's inside. --They're professionals who have gained years of knowledge, education, and experience to be able to do this. It might seem like a couple of days of work, but it's years of time and money put into learning this craft. --I didn't have to leave my home. There was no driving to a store or finding time to pick it up. It's like DoorDash but with your computer. --They're family-owned, Black-owned, and veteran-owned. Stop giving Apple or whatever corporation your money!! Shop small and shop local. Invest in your community. One super minor thing that ALL computer repair services should do: I do wish they had loaner laptops or something available because I had to scramble to find a laptop to use in the meantime.

Hey guys, I've recently had my laptop repaired at this place about couple of weeks ago. The…read morecomputer is still going so I decided to write my review about this place. This is a small place in Annandale, Little hard to find. The building is located between the Mcdonalds and Wendy's. Park in the front and there is the door on the right side which will lead you upstairs to suite D-201 dawin systems/computer repairs. I've dealt with Mr. Kyung Shik Lee there. He works with his brother-in-law so like a family business. Anyway my HP Laptop Pavilion dv6000 lost the screen and I was like dang, there goes my $1000+ investment. After doing some research in the internet I found out that this laptop is prone to display malfunction made by poor design by HP and overheating NVIDIA graphics chip. Brought it to this place and they fixed it right up after few days. The display is working great and I'll have to cross my finger and hope it'll last! The charge was $80 bucks. Not bad comparing others in the area go from $125 and upwards. Give this place a try for your computer issues. I paid $140 for virus repairs before through Norton remote service but this place will do it for about the half price. If you want a good inexpensive computer repairs, this place is it. Mr. Lee is the person to ask for. The only reason I didn't give 5 star is because I've noticed that the left front keyboard is slightly loose when I got it back. But then again no big deal since it's just a minor firmness issue when I press the number 1,2,3 keys. Also I believe this place only accepts cash or checks, no credit cards.

Happy with the service. Less than 24 hours and he repaired our laptop from the "blue screen of…read moredeath". Price was reasonable too. Only accepts cash. Seems honest and friendly and I would recommend to friends and family.

Update: I was not contacted by the owner, and I have texts from the business refusing to refund the…read moreservice. They originally offered to refund the labor only or replace the part again, but after two failed installs, that wasn't a good resolution plan. I was able to get an approved dispute with my credit card company and was fully refunded. A reply to my review making it look like there was an attempt to refund me isn't transparent. Again, sometimes it's best to measure a business on what happens when something goes wrong, not just when everything goes right. A true measure of a business is how they handle things when things go wrong. I want to start by saying the actual service experience was good. Fast turnaround, friendly staff, and when my first screen replacement had dying pixels, they replaced it under warranty without any pushback. That part of the experience deserves credit. However, the second replacement screen was also defective. Graininess in low light, visible dark spots, and the screen would go completely black during phone calls. At that point I asked for a refund rather than a third installation, since I'd already spent enough time and didn't want to gamble again on the same part. This is where I think the real test of a business happens. Anyone can deliver good service when everything goes smoothly. What matters more is what happens when it doesn't. I had an independent diagnosis from Apple confirming the display issue, and the shop initially agreed to a refund on the condition that I return the old screen. The problem was that Apple, who repaired the phone separately, retains all replaced parts as their own property and doesn't return them to customers, a policy I confirmed directly and documented for the shop. In the end, the shop declined to issue a full refund and only offered a partial refund for labor, even though the part itself was the source of the defect, not the installation. I came into this wanting to be fair, and I gave the business multiple chances to resolve it. I think it's reasonable to expect a full refund when a product fails twice, especially when returning the part wasn't even possible due to circumstances outside my control. I'd recommend this shop for routine repairs based on their speed and friendliness, but be aware of how they handle things if something doesn't go as planned. They would reference that they work with the local Apple Store, but I spoke with the Apple Store and they have several customers come in after poor third party replacements and service.
