Everyone else has already proclaimed Abdel to be "king" and "it doesn't get any better than him" so what else can I possibly say?? No idea, but it is all true! Last week, I put my laptop down on the coffee table, and then tripped over the power cord which resulted in the laptop flying onto the floor, but somehow landing on one corner. I was relieved that it was still alive, but the hinge on the screen was broken, it just didn't shut all the way and when I did move it, I could see clear inside the case. It really doesn't get better than these guys. I had an issue with my laptop - I was trying to replace the RAM (fairly easy to do on this model) but one of the screws was stripped. I came to PC Tek after going to the Apple store where the "geniuses" thoroughly made a mess of my laptop. While they aren't supposed to do anything with software, they did. Four different employees and one trip behind the closed curtain and I lost hundreds of irreplaceable videos, pictures, and music that was on it when I first entered the store. When I returned to test the computer, he was very honest and asked me if the screen cover had been damaged by PC Tek or if I had damaged the screen cover. This is my second time at PC Tek and I can verify that Abdel not only does hardware repair, but software as well. I accidentally installed a fake Adobe Flash Player onto my MacBook that ended up being malware. I took it in, and Abdel took every single measure to ensure the malware was thoroughly removed. I owe Abdel at PC Tek a huge thanks! He went above and beyond to help me out of a serious crisis I was having with my MacBook Pro. A little over two weeks ago, out of the blue, my Mac Pro started glitching and completely froze. I immediately went to the Apple store to have the problem diagnosed. They told me the issue was with the video card, and that Apple has acknowledged it as a manufacturing defect. Apparently Apple has replaced the defective part in several Mac Pro's manufactured the same year as mine at no cost to customers. Unfortunately for me replacing the part would not be so easy. Apple claimed that an minor liquid spill that occurred two years ago voided any and all warranties. Even though the spill is unrelated to the current problem they are now under no obligation to comp repairs. I was then quoted an out of pocket cost of $1500 if I wanted to proceed with Apple making the repairs. Needless to say I decide to go elsewhere. I found PC Tek on Yelp and really liked the reviews I read, so I decided to see what they could do to help me. Abdel was very helpful and friendly. He said he would do everything he could to keep repair costs down. He wanted to see if it was possible to repair the part as it would be cheaper to repair the part rather than replace it. When he found it wasn't possible to repair he told me he would reach out to a contact he has at Apple and try to convince them to replace the video card at no cost to me regardless of previous liquid damage. Apple's initial decision not to help me seemed definitive so I didn't think it was possible to get them to change their minds but in the end Abdel delivered big time! He informed me that Apple's corporate office cleared my laptop for repairs! These guys are knowledgeable, quick, and have the best prices I have been able to find. I've used them twice in the last year for a MacBook and a pc and both times they delivered exactly what I needed. I needed data recovered from a crashed hard drive and a system recovery on a computer with a virus that had the recovery image corrupted.
