I can't say enough positive about my experience with Raul. I really like that you have to make an appointment here. What seems an inconvenience at first guarantees that Raul is focused on your problem when you arrive. He quickly diagnosed my problem (dead motherboard) and suggested it wasn't worth repairing. He removed my SSD and pointed me to a product to enable me to get my files for transfer to the new laptop I'm buying. He later helped me install it. BEWARE! There is a viscous malware that is reported to infect 99.99% of PCs running Google Chrome; this is known as "Smilodon Fatalis" (named after an extinct (prehistoric) Sabretooth Tiger. IT's prevalence is due to Google's liberal extension policy. To find out if your PC is infected go to the Downloads page in Chrome (accessed from the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen) and see if you can delete the entries. If you see a message saying that this function is "owned" by the organization's administrator, your PC is infected. I found this issue when I tried to delete the downloads listing on my PC. I also found it is a very complicated process to remove the malware. I went to Fairfax Computer Repair and the Owner/Operator was able to remove it and installed Bit Defender in a 1-day turn around at a very reasonable cost. My computer worked like a dinausor. Very slow and not functioning well. Could not read my cds anymore. Raul told me it was because the hard drive was dying as the computer gets older. He saved all my files and software, put a new hard drive, cleaned my pc from malwares and virus. Wow! my 8 years old pc works like New. I am so excited i didn't have to buy a new pc. My old beat up laptop was a mess from problems with the keyboard to warnings about space and an outdated system. I was worried I might also have a virus. TSS was fantastic. I had tried two other stores that I found thru yelp and they were unable to help....what a mess. I emailed TSS first and Raul responded that day telling me to bring it in. I dropped it off and again they called me later that same day to tell me the problems, parts that needed ordered and how much it would cost. This was on a Friday and I picked it up Monday morning. They sat and showed me what they did and made sure I was satisfied as well as letting me know about some options I could consider. Price was completely reasonable...even cheap according to my work IT guy and the service was impeccable. So very friendly and accommodating and they didn't make me feel like a moron. I recently moved to the area and was worried that I was going to have to replace my laptop due to a non-functioning touch pad. I called and left a message describing the problem and when Raul called me back he'd already investigated the issue and checked to see if the necessary part was available. Nice! When I took the computer in, it turned out that he was able to fix it very quickly without even needing a new part. Overall, this was a very good experience. The office isn't fancy and the door says TSS (I was looking for Fairfax Computer Repair) but the service was great and Raul seemed to really know what he was doing.
