Its been years since my initial review of Vienna Tech. 2 of us have used VT many times since then: there is nothing I would change on Yelp. VT's service is first rate, pricing reasonable, Jeff and James - either by phone or on site - are pleasant, courteous & VERY knowledgeable. Most importantly, they work hard to quickly diagnose, then remedy your software or hardware problem. No baloney - diligent, thorough and honest! I had a problem late Friday at the start of a long Labor Day holiday weekend. James responded quickly and rectified it even though he could have easily delayed dealing with me until Tuesday. Vienna Tech Help helped me tremendously!! James answered my call on Monday morning and within an hour had Eric come to my house to help me with several challenges that I had spent years trying to figure out myself. Eric the technician and computer guru did this for me!! 1. taught me how to download my videos/photos on my android to my desktop 2. taught me how to upload lengthy videos to youtube "unlisted" so that i could share videos without email (too large via email!) via youtube but using an "unlisted" youtube upload so that only those i sent a url link to could view (not for public viewing) 3. taught me the proper USB to buy on amazon ($7 for 6 USB adapters but only needed 1) to better transfer data from my cell to computer, without using my charger adapter. 4. change the font on my outlook 5. taught me how to transfer my itunes music on my computer onto my samsung android WITHOUT downloading any additional software, etc. They saved me from years of frustration (always spending hours trying to do this and not figuring out exactly how i finally did it, but couldn't recapture my blind but sometimes successful actions). Would give a 10 star review if possible. My family has gone to Vienna Tech on multiple occasions over the years for our computer issues. Every single time James has gone above and beyond. I rely on laptop to run my non-profit organization of more than 60 volunteers and 100 students. My HP desktop computer began to run slowly and finally stopped working. No response from the keyboard. I contacted James at Vienna Tech Help. He offered several suggestions but none were effective. I took the computer to his shop and he quickly identified numerous malware programs that were hijacking my machine. He was able to clean the computer and reinstall the OS. The entire process took a couple of days but my PC now performs substantially better than before and is now cleaned of all malware. James was very helpful and responsive to my problem. He is pleasant to work with and did exactly what he promised on the schedule he set. All in all this was a pleasant resolution to a serious problem. Although James offered a partial refund and offered to look at the subsequent problems that have ensued since he worked on my friend's computer, my friend and I just can't return. The fan was dirty and the computer had overheated and James solved that problem. But.... He also decided to add a lot of programs without even asking to beforehand and now there's this weird white triangle at the bottom of the computer. He uninstalled programs that my friend actually used. I am the one who transported the computer back and forth and dealt with him personally because my friend happens to be quite shy. He made a snide remark "sorry she (my friend) put you in the middle." Nobody asked him to all this stuff and now my friend can't find half her photo files. I delayed writing this review thinking maybe things would improve but that weird white triangle is still at the bottom of her screen ugly as can be....ugh. read more

He also backed it up on a portable drive, and showed me some great shortcuts and tricks with my machine that I wasn't aware of. My father's computer was hacked. Someone else was controlling it (turning it off remotely) and demanding money. My father took his computer to Vienna Tech Help and they fixed the problem. They also gave him advice on how to avoid malware in the future. He was very pleased with their service, and my dad doesn't give praise lightly. English isn't his first language, either, but it sounds like he was treated with courtesy and respect, which I greatly appreciate. My Dell computer failed to restart, giving a beep code before it stopped. I first contacted Dell by phone, and they offered to replace my motherboard for about $400. I then contacted Vienna Tech Help. They were able to get my computer working without replacing the motherboard, thus saving me a significant amount of money. It turns out that my external hard drive was corrupted and probably caused the failure to restart. I had it plugged in when the problem first occurred, but I couldn't restart the computer when I removed it. Thus, my problem was very difficult to diagnose. It appears that the setup in Virginia Tech Help's shop, where the computer was hooked up to a battery backup, resulted in the computer restarting correctly. James and Daryl at Vienna Tech Help are very knowledgeable and they did the work for a very reasonable price. As a bonus, they checked my computer for virus and spyware and made some helpful changes. They also sold me a new external hard drive at a reasonable price. read more

I had to call this past week, since my Dell laptop had the blue screen of death and didn't have internet due to a very vicious bout with malware. Which they promptly fixed. I initially went down the street to Microcenter and they pretty much were giving us the run around and eventually said they wouldn't fix our computer (weird!). So we found Vienna Tech through yelp and happy we did. They diagnosed what was wrong with my computer and replaced the hard drive in no time! I got my computer fixed within a couple of days.
