Its been years since my initial review of Vienna Tech. 2 of us have used VT many times since then: there is nothing I would change on Yelp. VT's service is first rate, pricing reasonable, Jeff and James - either by phone or on site - are pleasant, courteous & VERY knowledgeable. Most importantly, they work hard to quickly diagnose, then remedy your software or hardware problem. No baloney - diligent, thorough and honest! I had a problem late Friday at the start of a long Labor Day holiday weekend. James responded quickly and rectified it even though he could have easily delayed dealing with me until Tuesday. Still Highly Recommended. During this time of Covid, VT handles issues remotely if you (like us) don't want outsiders in your habitat! read more

The most competent tech service around, period. Dedicated to solving whatever challenges you have (and clear about what they do not do). They have solved problems that the big shops (Micro Center, Best Buy) have not been able to solve. Service is personal, fast, and outstanding. Excellent value - I would never go anywhere else! read more

Vienna Tech Help helped me tremendously!! James answered my call on Monday morning and within an hour had Eric come to my house to help me with several challenges that I had spent years trying to figure out myself. Eric the technician and computer guru did this for me!! 1. taught me how to download my videos/photos on my android to my desktop 2. taught me how to upload lengthy videos to youtube "unlisted" so that i could share videos without email (too large via email!) via youtube but using an "unlisted" youtube upload so that only those i sent a url link to could view (not for public viewing) 3. taught me the proper USB to buy on amazon ($7 for 6 USB adapters but only needed 1) to better transfer data from my cell to computer, without using my charger adapter. 4. change the font on my outlook 5. taught me how to transfer my itunes music on my computer onto my samsung android WITHOUT downloading any additional software, etc. They saved me from years of frustration (always spending hours trying to do this and not figuring out exactly how i finally did it, but couldn't recapture my blind but sometimes successful actions). HIGHLY RECOMMEND JAMES AND ERIC!!!!!! And no, I'm not a friend of theirs nor paid to give this review. They are just that awesome!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! read more

Would give a 10 star review if possible. My family has gone to Vienna Tech on multiple occasions over the years for our computer issues. Every single time James has gone above and beyond. He is friendly, honest, very fair and super knowledgeable. It's obvious to me that he loves his work and finds great purpose in helping folks. And during these Covid times, James has solid safety protocols in place. It's doubtful you'll find a company who cares more about getting your computer up and running than Vienna Tech. read more

My HP desktop computer began to run slowly and finally stopped working. No response from the keyboard. I contacted James at Vienna Tech Help. He offered several suggestions but none were effective. I took the computer to his shop and he quickly identified numerous malware programs that were hijacking my machine. He was able to clean the computer and reinstall the OS. The entire process took a couple of days but my PC now performs substantially better than before and is now cleaned of all malware. James was very helpful and responsive to my problem. He is pleasant to work with and did exactly what he promised on the schedule he set. All in all this was a pleasant resolution to a serious problem. I recommend James highly if you have a PC problem read more

I rely on laptop to run my non-profit organization of more than 60 volunteers and 100 students. It's essential that I use my databases, documents, spreadsheets, zoom access, etc. Vienna Tech Help has rescued me several times when I ran into glitches or my computer malfunctioned. They always respond promptly to my calls for help, explain the problem clearly and, most important, fix it. Service is courteous and friendly. I highly recommend them. read more

Was blown away with the service from James. My computer was broken and he even gave me a loaner computer. While he had my computer , he was able to fix it and make it look and work much better! Thanks again for your service. read more

They did a great job fixing the broken hinge on my laptop - insanely fast and saved me a lot of money, what more could you ask for! I will definitely be going to them for any future tech repair as long as I live in this area! read more

Loved the service from this place. Very professional. James emailed me and told me which store to go to to by my computer and which computer to buy. The technician was very efficient and very knowledgeable. They charge by the hour but the technician did not waste one second. It has been a long time since I received such professional service. read more

Although James offered a partial refund and offered to look at the subsequent problems that have ensued since he worked on my friend's computer, my friend and I just can't return. The fan was dirty and the computer had overheated and James solved that problem. But.... He also decided to add a lot of programs without even asking to beforehand and now there's this weird white triangle at the bottom of the computer. He uninstalled programs that my friend actually used. I am the one who transported the computer back and forth and dealt with him personally because my friend happens to be quite shy. He made a snide remark "sorry she (my friend) put you in the middle." Nobody asked him to all this stuff and now my friend can't find half her photo files. I delayed writing this review thinking maybe things would improve but that weird white triangle is still at the bottom of her screen ugly as can be....ugh. read more

Went to Best Buy first and they did not really help at all. James was very helpful and had my computer working perfectly within 1 business day for a reasonable price. Excellent customer service. Definitely would recommend going here for any computer issues. read more

Called in for help with my early 2008 MacBook. Spoke with James (I think?) and he was SUPER helpful. Found ways to save me money, and it turns out I didn't need to go into see them after all, as he found me a better solution!! He was totally about me benefiting, not just about getting me in there for them to make money. Thank you!! read more

James is a highly experienced IT pro who carefully finds the best solution and recommends ways to save your $$. I have referred a number of residential customers to him and he has provided good service at a fair price. read more

My laptop hard drive was dying and James replaced it and upgraded my computer and now it is a lot faster and working great. He also backed it up on a portable drive, and showed me some great shortcuts and tricks with my machine that I wasn't aware of. He had this all done within 1 business day, and his fee was very reasonable. Great customer service! read more

My father's computer was hacked. Someone else was controlling it (turning it off remotely) and demanding money. My father took his computer to Vienna Tech Help and they fixed the problem. They also gave him advice on how to avoid malware in the future. He was very pleased with their service, and my dad doesn't give praise lightly. English isn't his first language, either, but it sounds like he was treated with courtesy and respect, which I greatly appreciate. Skilled, courteous, and reasonably-priced - would definitely recommend them. read more

My Dell computer failed to restart, giving a beep code before it stopped. I first contacted Dell by phone, and they offered to replace my motherboard for about $400. I then contacted Vienna Tech Help. They were able to get my computer working without replacing the motherboard, thus saving me a significant amount of money. It turns out that my external hard drive was corrupted and probably caused the failure to restart. I had it plugged in when the problem first occurred, but I couldn't restart the computer when I removed it. Thus, my problem was very difficult to diagnose. It appears that the setup in Virginia Tech Help's shop, where the computer was hooked up to a battery backup, resulted in the computer restarting correctly. James and Daryl at Vienna Tech Help are very knowledgeable and they did the work for a very reasonable price. As a bonus, they checked my computer for virus and spyware and made some helpful changes. They also sold me a new external hard drive at a reasonable price. read more

They are amazing. Wouldn't even consider going anywhere else for our family's tech help

Could not ask for a better experience with price, technical expertise, and excellent customer service. James and crew saved our data from a (circa 2008) iMAC that had died. Beyond this, they provided cost saving tips moving forward with our current setup. I will be using them for a home visit to see how we can better be using and syncing our various electronic device to enhance security and ease of use in the future. No need to look anywhere else, just call James. read more

If you've ever been through it, you know that computer or laptop repair is a beast! I can't tell you how happy I am with James and David. Always professional, they live by their motto "5 star service at a reasonable price!" Forget Geek Squad. I am so happy I found this little company! For the same service as another firm charged me $500 for last year, Vienna Tech help did for less than half! They're fast, understanding, and everyone I've referred to them has been, in a word, ecstatic over the fast, reliable service. They're by appointment only, so be sure to call or email them. I had to call this past week, since my Dell laptop had the blue screen of death and didn't have internet due to a very vicious bout with malware. Which they promptly fixed. As well as random other things I didn't even ask them to do like the weepy hinges and the random issues with Media Player I didn't even tell them about, they just discovered on their own and didn't charge me for. Wow!! Do your technology and pocketbook a favor, they'll both be happy. read more

James was amazing! He and his staff are so friendly and professional! I initially went down the street to Microcenter and they pretty much were giving us the run around and eventually said they wouldn't fix our computer (weird!). So we found Vienna Tech through yelp and happy we did. They diagnosed what was wrong with my computer and replaced the hard drive in no time! I got my computer fixed within a couple of days. I also loved the online quote review and digital signature feature. He also offered different options based on my computer usage to try to save me money, which I really appreciated! Best of all he's a licensed professional so Squaretrade accepted my repair receipt and refunded me promptly (but that's for another review)! read more

I spilled liquid on my laptop and called frantically for help. James advised me on how to dry out my laptop safely over the phone and it worked! After a few days, I turned it back on, and it worked like normal. Phew! If I have any other issues in the future, I will be coming here first. Thanks a million! read more

James has been so helpful in solving problems for my senior mother. He solves all kinds of problems, gets Skype working for her, fixes email problems etc. If you have an older parent and you are too far to provide technical support, or you are too busy or simply don't know how, James is the guy for the job. My mother enjoys his company and it is so nice when the problems that stress her out just go away. Well worth every penny. read more

James and Eric were straightforward, thorough and fast. They investigated why my laptop would not boot, and found a solution without having to reformat the hard drive. The pricing was clear and fair, and they explained each step before any charges were incurred. They also suggested and made free improvements to my security software and backup process. I would not hesitate to use Vienna Tech Help again or to recommend them to anyone else. read more

James and his team were extremely helpful from the moment they picked up the phone, on through to diagnosing and troubleshooting the issue with my laptop. His team was very educated and quickly resolved my issue within minutes of dropping off my PC! James called me within the hour to let me know what was wrong and that it would be ready in the morning for pick-up. He even was kind enough to install some security updates for Google Chrome and Java. Quick fix for a very reasonable cost! I will definitely be taking by business to Vienna Tech Help in the future.
