Winston repaired my beloved printer promptly, skillfully, and at a very reasonable price. I feel he also gave me some good advice about repair vs. replacement. I am a raving fan. read more

Found this business from a Yelp search. My computer hinge came apart. Winstonn communicated well, via text & call. And was flexible with me to be able to meet at his house & drop off my laptop. The issue was the left side hinge that someone came undone. He left me know he needed to order some screws and the updated price. Once he had the hinge "fixed" he didn't like the way the laptop screen now "stuck out". So he brought a new screen/backing for my laptop. Since he was not personally happy with the way it looked, he offered to buy me a new/used latop. I never saw it with the "poked out" screen but I would have rather kept my laptop. He said he would take some time and research for laptops of my specified specs. So, I said okay. Please let me know what you find before making any purchases. A few days later he calls and tell me that he opened up my laptop, saw water damage, and now miraculousy my laptop NO LONGER WORKS. The screen does not appear - even with external monitors, just black. This was very disappointing and frustrating. Laptop worked fine before I dropped it off, with the exception of the hinge that came undone. Not sure why he didn't check everything (atleast turning it on/off) in the beginning. I even asked if he wanted the power charging cord when I dropped off the laptop. Still dont understand why he would offer a new laptop and then a few days later say my laptop doesnt work and he's not going to replace my laptop. I paid $170 for the service & to get my laptop back, that is NO LONGER works now. Ultimately, I had to purchase a new laptop. I personally would not recommend Added for owners comment : I would not drive nearly an hour back and forth and pay to get the hinge fixed on a broken laptop.. Please, let's be serious here. laptop worked perfectly fine before and when I dropped it off to you. I even sent you pics during our texting. And I offered to leave my charging cord so you could keep it charged etc. as needed. Also, I am not a "computer tech" why didn't/don't you ask questions before anyone drops equipment off to you to make sure you are not wasting yours or anyone's time? I am not being dishonest here or with my review- and I greatly don't appreciate you calling me a liar. Think my review is still fair and told you in person I was disappointed in your service. I waiting patiently for the fix, which you already ordered both parts - and then you asked me WEEKS after the purchase of parts & from when I dropped it off, you asked about water damage for which I said yes- water may have gotten into like two years ago - however it still worked fine for an almost 4 year old computer, so why would I think to mention that? Also, if there was water damage and the laptop was inoperable I would have gotten a new laptop years ago and not went to you to fix a hinge. Perhaps ask questions of customers and their equipment before you take on their project and for you to educate them, for all parties to agree or decline for you to take on their project upfront? That would be a recommendation for my honest, fair review here There is nothing more to say here, I don't generally go back and forth with people but you're trying to defame my character and I don't appreciate that. We will leave my review at this, You seem to have pretty good reviews so ppl can base their desire to use your service on those . I just didn't have a good experience. Good day read more

Responded quickly, took care of the issue, easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, competent. Very grateful.

I searched for help with a problem. I have a 2019 iMac and I use Chrome, but each time I opened, it took many minutes for Chrome to load. Other programs would load quickly. Chrome would load instantly on my MacBook, but something was very wrong with the interface between the iMac and Chrome. I got a couple of responses. One guy said that some 2019 iMacs lacked a solid state drive and he could install one in place of the older model hard drive, but, being an honest guy, he pointed out that the cost might not be worth it, and I might prefer to think about getting a new machine. I repeated this to the other guy, Winston who works under the business name Proactive Systems. He said that was wrong, that he knew this machine and could come to my home and fix it. He said he charged $85/hour and could fix it in an hour. I thought, "what do I have to lose?" Foolish me. He arrived and seemed straightforward and personable. He worked on it for 2 hours and 20 minutes. He said something was corrupted in my Chrome profile, so he created a new profile and copied all my programs into it. Sure enough, at that moment, it worked fine. He asked me to pay him 218, which I did. But the next day, using the new profile, Chrome took a full minute to load, the following day, it took longer, and the next one longer still. I called Winston. That week, we had two extended phone conversations but the problem only got worse. Now, it is as bad as, or worse than, where it was before Winston came out. He said that if he gave me any more time, he would have to bill me further. I told him that he had solved nothing, and that if he couldn't fix it, I wanted a refund. He insisted that the computer was working OK when he left my house, and that was his only obligation. He said if I still had a problem with Chrome, I should use Safari. He seems like a nice man, and I don't think he is crooked. But he clearly doesn't know as much as he thinks he does about computers, and he seems to feel no obligation to successfully provide the service he is paid for. He has my $218, and I have exactly the problem I started with. Use this company at your own risk. read more

Winston gives excellent service! He knows his stuff! Knowledgeable, patient and worked with me to troubleshoot an "out the ordinary" problem. My DUAL monitor KVM was on the fritz on my second monitor and thought that maybe I needed to get someone to open up my KVM unit to fix the port. We Walked through the problem and solved immediately. Had we not solved it he was willing to come over and get it done before opening up the machine! Thanks sooo much - from your Legacy customer- Elizabeth! read more

Winston did a great job. He was able to swing by my house and work on my PC the same day I reached out to him. He was very personable and knowledgeable. If this is the first time you are visiting this page , Winston's company, for computer repair, consider it your lucky day. After more than five months of aggravation, disappointing responses from Costco and Acer, Winston took my call, diagnosed the problem, came up with a solution he "guaranteed" would work, purchased the part and repaired my computer perfectly and with a smile at a reasonable price. And all this on the same day I called! Being "computer clueless" is not fun. In the same day, I provided his contact information to two "needy" friends. He is an engineer by training and brings so much knowledge and experience, not to mention his patient, caring personality. You will make one call, you will not have to wait endlessly and you will never again wonder who to call. The brain drain at big companies is depressing. Worse is opting to pay after paying for additional protection that has proved worthless. For any number of reasons, diminishing stress in this era is becoming more challenging. Cross "computer anxiety" off your list and give him a call. You will keep his number in your rolodex on speed dial. Fran B. read more

I am not computer savvy. That is why I was nervous taking my desktop for repair. My stomach was nervous as when I take my car for repair.(not knowing how much it was going to cost) Well, I was so pleased. I got my computer back in a short amount of time and it didn't break my pockets. This company is highly recommended. Oh, and to top it off he taught me stuff about my computer and how to troubleshoot some things. S.Jenkins read more
