Fast service at a very reasonable cost. Laptop is running well, now. I would not hesitate to use again. The office is accessed to the side of the building, up stairs and on your left. Thank you. read more

My Windows computer was restarting constantly and couldn't be used, so I took it to the Computer Technology Center. It had restarted so many times that some security feature was preventing all logins. First, they had to solve the login problem by cracking Windows security. Then they ran diagnostic tests that revealed RAM faults, requiring a new motherboard. In a few days, the new motherboard arrived, and now the computer is back home and working perfectly. This is the same sort of experience I've had before with the Computer Technology Center, so I was not surprised. Their office is open--they don't take your machine to another room. They'll do the diagnosis right in front of you. If the repair is simple, they'll make the repair while you watch. This openness gives one great confidence in their work. The price for the work was very reasonable. I hope I don't have another computer failure soon, but when I do, there's no question where I will go. read more

Michael knows what he's doing, and talks with you regarding what the best alternatives are. I brought him my daughter's desktop computer with a power problem, and he resolved the issue quickly and at a fair price. read more

My five year old Dell laptop was running extremely slow. I found an Ultra Viewer app which I did not add, so I was probably hacked. I called Michael and met the next day at his office. I was mentally prepared to toss the laptop and buy a new one, but Michael asked to keep overnight. When I returned the next day Michael and his technician Sheyhan had replaced the hard drive, reloaded my documents and photos after scanning for viruses, etc. Even helped me get a feel for new software. All for a fraction of the cost of a new machine. Frankly, I don't recall the computer working this fast when new! Icing on cake - for an even smaller fee Sheyhan came over my house and fixed the scanner on my printer which has been out for quite some time. Very pleased I found CTC in Rockville! read more

They were able to schedule doing the work before the 'big box' repair centers I called would have scheduled an initial consultation. The cost of getting the work done was less than the other repair centers' initial diagnostic fee. The work was done speedily and with excellent quality. The staff were communicative, courteous, intelligent, and knowledgeable. read more

I had a great experience with Mike. He evaluated my broken laptop and gave me a price for its repair. He mentioned potentially buying a refurbished Dell 14" as an alternative. He let me "test drive" it and it performed much better than the old laptop I had brought in. I told him I needed to think about it. With no pressure whatsoever, he suggested I do just that and I left. Went to Best Buy and felt I was getting "hustled" by the sales person. Want me to purchase a $200. TOTAL TECH package and sign up for a Best Buy credit card in order to get a discount. I drove back to Computer Tech Center and bought his very satisfactory refurbished model. I would highly recommend them and do business with them anytime. Scott H read more

I selected ComputerTechnology Center (CTC) from the 5-star ratings on Yelp. I brought in my 2015 Dell all-in-one desktop for service on a Thursday afternoon. Mike quickly analyzed the problem to be a bad motherboard for which he had to order. I received a call and picked up my repaired desktop the following Tuesday morning. Outstanding support! I highly recommend CTC for all of your computer and other electronic support services!! read more

Mike was very competent, understood the problems and fixed my computer quickly and very reasonably. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this business! Thank you Mike! read more

The Yelp reviews don't lie, this place is the real deal. I got a consultation from Micro Center Rockville ($40 diagnostic) and originally I was going to just get serviced from them on my dad's old laptop (dying hard drive, and data recovery) but after I glanced through some of the Micro Center reviews, I decided to shop around and found Computer Technology Center. Best decision ever. Computer was fixed in a day, for 1/2 the cost, and is working smooth as ever. Thank you Computer Technology Center! read more

I brought my Lenovo laptop in after it shut down seemingly out of nowhere. Mike initially took a look at thought it may be an issue with the jack and charging the laptop. He told me it may take a few days but he'd have it back to me once the jack was replaced. He called 4 days later letting me know that the jack was not the issue and he needed to investigate further. He and his team then went through diagnosing the issue and swapping out the motherboard not once, but THREE TIMES because the first 2 were causing errors. They did not give up on fixing the problem, and continued to work to find a solution. When I picked up the laptop, it started up EXACTLY as I had it when it shut down. Even when I logged on to the internet, the same tabs opened right back up. I could not believe how seamless it was. And, although it took longer than expected, Mike still charged me the original quote that he had given me. And he was clear and communicative throughout the entire process, letting me know what was going on throughout. I can not recommend Computer Technology Center enough! If ever there is an issue in my future, I will be sure to use them again! read more

I went to a couple of other places before I found out about the Computer Technology Center. Mike is very friendly and went over all solutions to fix my laptop. Their price is very reasonable. I got my laptop fixed in the next day. read more

Highly highly recommend them for computer issues! I was trying to perform a system restore via safe mode and Windows 10 locked me out for some reason. I tried multiple methods of trying to login but the system wouldn't take my password. Several people said it would be easier and cheaper to just do a clean install of Windows 10 and to transfer the data out to another hard drive. I prefer not to do that but I gave up on trying to fix the password issue. I brought the PC to CTC with that intent but they said they would try to fix the password issue with some software before they'd consider a clean install. 3 hours later, Michael said he fixed the issue. I was ecstatic! And very affordable too. I will recommend my friends to them! read more

Asked for a quote on monitor fix, turns out they don't. He was honest and friendly and gave a good advice.

Mike was so helpful! My son needed to upgrade the memory for his 2014 Dell XPS for using the software he needed for school. That worked great, but then Mike, seeing how darn slow my son's computer was working, recommended replacing the hard drive. That worked great! Then, when we were having trouble with the OS, Mike helped with that! Through every step, he carefully explained to my son what he was doing and why; so it was customer service, but with a little teaching added! I love that we now have a machine that has been revitalized and that will serve us for hopefully a few more years. I highly recommend Mike for his knowledge, his understanding, and his kindness. read more

Mike did an excellent job on repairing my crashed pc. After I failed rebooting the pc at home myself, I took it to Mike's shop for a checkup. It turns out the crash was caused by a hard drive problem. Mike recovered the data, replaced the hard drive, then installed windows at a reasonable price. I picked up my pc only several hours later after I dropped it in his shop for repair. It's absolutely a good experience. read more

I owned a business computer services company years back so I know better than to go to these chains who are generally not well-trained in trouble-shooting. That kind of service takes time and is not high profit. Replacing computers or major components is much less labor-intensive, thus higher profit. Mike is knowledgable, patient, and works hard to save $$ for his customers. I asked him to replace the HD, but he told me the laptop has an extra hard drive, and he could just switch it over, which he did! On top of that, he recovered much of the data on the damaged HD that I thought was lost, without charging me!?! Unheard of! I know how much data recovery costs. Wow! read more

I went to Computer Technology Center based on Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed. I had spilled a large glass of water on my laptop and basically transformed it into a desktop, because it would no longer run on the battery. Mike tried to save me the cost of buying a new battery, but in the end, it was necessary, and even then we were not sure that it would solve the problem, but it did. Really a pleasure dealing with him from start to finish, and his charge was trivial. (And by the way, I have no idea why I am identified as being from "San Francisco, CA" by Yelp; I live in Rockville.) read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND I had a hard drive failure on my Lenovo laptop. As recommended on a google group I took it to a computer store in Gaithersburg, MD. After leaving it for a couple of days I get a call saying that the HD is fried and they don't see any data at all and they charged me $35. Though I had a backup of the data I wanted to make sure I didn't lose anything. I lost all hope. Then I was referred to Computer Technology Center by Sean (three stores away from CTC), BTW who is a great cell phone repair guy. Michael took my laptop and told me to callback the next day and said he will have an status update. I was amazed by his confidence. Well I didn't get a call for a couple of days and I lost all hope all over again. On the third day Michael called and said I had lots of data on the HD (Pics/Videos/Files) and the data recovery has been going on for a few days. Finally he determined that it was a bad HD and replaced it with a brand new one and restored all data (I repeat all data) from the old one. What a great job Michael. I would highly recommend Michael for all your computer repairs. And BTW he is very reasonably priced as well. THANKS MICHAEL ***** read more

Amazing service, my "dead" laptop was fixed while I was waiting in the store for less than 30 minutes. I was prepared to buy laptop, but ended up paying a fraction for a quick repair. I needed to get my GPU and CPU fans replaced on my laptop as they died out on me after three years of use. Some places wanted to charge me an "inspection fee" but why would I need to do that when I already knew what the problem was? When I told them the issue I was told an upfront price and I was able to provide the parts myself. Amazing service and I was able to get my laptop back on the same day. I recommend this place to anyone who needs work done on their PC. read more

Excellent service, was able to repair physical damage to my laptop in the same day. Other places wanted to take two days for evaluation, then buy brand new parts, wait a week to repair. These guys were able to work with what I had, and get me back up and working right away. An old fashioned computer repair service, instead of "just buy a new one" or "just buy new parts." Glad this exists in Rockville. read more

I started having problem with my HP Chromebook and called around to see who can service it. Surprisingly, all of the computer repairs shops I called said that they do not fix Chromebooks. Michael at Computer Technology Center is the first to say: "Bring it over, I'll take a look!" For sure they were able to reinstall the operating system and make it work again. I since brought the Chromebook there again because the screen wouldn't even turn on. Mike reassured me that they will take a look to see if it is worth it to fix it. After spending hours and hours trouble shooting, it was fixed. But since I had brought the Chromebook in before, he charged me very reasonably rate for having spending many hours on it. This made me a very happy customer :) It is definitely worth while to go to this store for your computer repair needs. I've had excellent experience there. I think you will also! read more

I am thrilled with the results that Mike got me today! He responded to me immediately and did not give up until he had diagnosed and solved my computer and printer issues. I should have called him earlier before I wasted hours on the phone with BestBuy Geek Squad who could not solve my problem. Next time, I will call Mike at the beginning of computer problems and save myself hours of frustration. Time saved translates to money saved for me because I can get back to my work helping my clients in my law firm. Thank you so much Mike! read more

Higly recommend! When it comes to electronic devices, we can't live even one day without them and get really frustrated if they don't work properly. I don't know how this many customers find this service appealing, but allow me to explain how low tier and unprofessional this place is. The manager is incredibly cranky and refuses to listen to reason. Kept on insisting that it has to do with my hardrive in my imac and not some other hardware problem. Not to mention he is a douche bag and does not have any patience with his customers. You are better of taking your system to Micro Center a few miles away or some other experienced repair service that has the proper equipped knowledge and better customer service. DO NOT TAKE YOUR SYSTEMS TO CTC. read more

Great service and value! I really don't understand how he keeps his prices so low - Mike (the owner) is great. The store is in a convenient location and I am guessing high-rent. But service is super friendly, fast and incredibly reasonable! I am not a high maintenance customer, as I would rather have "almost perfect" and "cheap/reasonable" rather than "perfect/like new" and expensive. Mike at Computer Technology delivers in spades. I work in DC but live in the boonies - and I go back and forth to Computer Technology Center from the Rockville Metro/MARC on foot (lt 1 mile) for my computer repairs - he has fixed a Dell 2 in 1 for me as well as a higher-end ASUS for my wife (two different occasions both HW and SW) . He also did a quick fix on my old spare Netbook that didn't quite work 100% (and I never bothered to let him know) , but the repair cost was something like $20 so how could I complain?! I will never use another computer repair shop as long as Mike at Computer Technology Center is in business. read more

Love, love, love them. Always make me feel like my computer problem is their only problem. Work done fast and terrific rates! Go here.

My wife broke her laptop touchscreen on a year old computer and we didn't buy the warranty. I thought the computer was dead. I stopped by Computer Technology Center and they said they could put in a new touchscreen for approx. $180, a lot cheaper than replacing a $600 computer. I had them do it and it was fixed perfectly and on time. This is a great place to get your computers fixed in Rockville! I will be going back! read more

My laptop began starting with error messages. Not satisfied with where I had bought and been taking my laptop for service, I Googled other computer repair businesses in or near Rockville. I found Computer Technology Center, which had good reviews on yelp! I went there, and Mike diagnosed that I needed a newer technology hard drive. He said that my laptop would be ready by noon of the following day. He called later the day that I took the laptop in and said I could pick it up yet that same afternoon. He also spent considerable time troubleshooting problems that I had in editing events on the yahoo calendar. Although the problem appeared to be a "corrupt" calendar, Mike suggested a workaround that allows me to at least now edit calendar events. I will definitely go back to Computer Technology Center when I need service or troubleshooting on my laptop. read more

This is likely the best computer repair place you will find in the world. The service is concise and to the point. Their only concern is fixing your computer, and giving you the bottom line price. They tell you--this part costs this much, new or aftermarket, and will guide you properly. I wanted a new replacement part, he said "no, there's no need". I have no idea, i trusted him and it works like brand new and saved me an extra 70 dollars on one part alone. he fixed a cosmetic problem with my touchpad mouse button FOR FREE!! That's not to say he can always do that, but it was a minor fix and he just did it without even mentioning it. He charges you the exact cost of the parts, plus so little for labor that you almost want to offer more money. Instead of giving him extra money for a job done fast, properly, and with gusto, i offered to write an honest review of my experience. I cannot tell you how happy I am with my experience. Mike is a great man for working so hard and being so generous, I greatly appreciate his service. Don't worry about him being curt with you, he only wants to fix your computer as fast as possible, not hang out with you while you tell him how you broke it and what you were thinking about while you broke it. This is the best computer repair place you will ever find, and it's conveniently located in rockville. read more

The staff at CTC were extremely helpful, knowledgable, and friendly!! This past week I dropped my MacBook Pro 13 inch and had to get the retina display replaced. I was getting unhelpful windows errors when trying to upgrade an old desktop to Windows 10, and Mike at CTC was great at figuring it out.
