I met Yohay, who very patiently listen to my ideas about what I was trying to accomplish. This guys is my hero's!! I have had problem with my Lenovo dysfunctional DC jack (power jack) for a while. Problems with charging the battery and turn it on was unstable, Before I called Chevy Chase Geeks, I went to other place (aka B**tB**) to see if they can fix it, after few days diagnostic was wrong, said my motherboard need to be replaced, all I got was unaffordable quote and crazy amount of time to do the whole processes, which I don't have. This is the same sort of experience I've had before with the Computer Technology Center, so I was not surprised. Their office is open--they don't take your machine to another room. They'll do the diagnosis right in front of you. If the repair is simple, they'll make the repair while you watch. This openness gives one great confidence in their work. I started having issues with my video card overheating, despite being on a cooling pad. After some research I determined that the issue was that the fans were probably either dead or failing and needed to be replaced. I called Adrian, who was able to pick up my laptop at my house and returned it to my house (sweet!). It did take almost 2 weeks for my laptop to be repaired as it is a computer that he doesn't usually work on so he didn't have spare parts just lying around (completely cool - I knew that was doing to happen). I had to reach out to him a few times for updates though. He also suggested that while he had it open he could upgrade the RAM which is a no brainer for me. All in all it works great - no issues now. Not sure why I didn't do that first, but thank goodness I did. Advanced Computer Center shares space with a Kitchen Remodeling store. So, don't get confused by the address and the store front. Advanced Computer Center was in the back of the store. The gentlemen who I assume is the owner and the technician was super friendly. He looked at my laptop and immediately could see what the problem was. He quoted me a price and told me when I could expect a call to pick up my laptop. As promised they called to tell me my laptop was fixed and I could pick it up. I'm typing from my laptop right now. So, that should show you that I'm a satisfied customer. (I…read moredo home based business and I have to have a computer. ) I called Doctor Fix My Computer late as all hell on a Saturday night and he came RIGHT out to see what he could do with my computer. It turned out it was laden with viruses and had to be wiped clean. He told me what he was doing every step of the way and did I mention that he didn't bend me over for the cost of the repair, especially emergency work, at my location, on weekend? The repair work was intensive, and he had to come back Sunday but when he left, my baby was wiped clean (data preserved and transferred) and better than new. One of my 20' XLR microphone cables failed while I was doing a remote recording session...scratches and crackling from a short circuit. I brought the cable to Elman for repair. He found the problem and fixed it. The "extra mile" was his applying heat shrink to the soldered leads which has two benefits: - stabilizes the leads against strain, and, should they get pulled again, prevents them from touching and should prevent electrical short circuiting. This attention to detail is all too unusual in today's marketplace. Kudos to Elman.
