My laptop would not charge. I called for them to fix it. As of today and every day since I called, my laptop doesn't charge! I am sorry. I wrote a review 3 weeks ago and I dont know how to edit or remove it, but my laptop does not work. Now I have money that isn't a problem, but good quality service is hard to find. I called tecky multiple times telling them my laptop was working for a few minutes and then died completely. I've used 2 different new chargers and it still doesn't work. They want to Charge me again, I already paid $200 for what they said was just plugging it in and it worked for them. When I first called back they didn't try to come and look at the laptop again. And today when I called they basically said it was my fault and hung up on me. They hung up on me. I gave them a chance, wasted $200 dollars and now they want me to pay more for the same problem. Unless you have a degree in computers, even if you do, don't waste your time with them. Unprofessional and a Waste of Time. I even gave them a $18 tip!! Don't waste your time!!! read more

I've had a couple of great laptop repair experiences with Techy. In both cases they were upfront about pricing, fast, and communicative. For my most recent repair, they picked up my macbook from my home, replaced the battery, and delivered it back to me in, no exaggeration, 2 hours start to finish. (I didn't pay any extra rush charge or even say I was in a hurry or anything.) I don't think I've had a repair anywhere else that was faster than like 2-3 days before I got the computer back. Another time I asked about a very specialized problem that they don't deal with, and they were totally upfront about not doing it and directed me to someone who could help. Also a great sign. Definitely don't bother with these guys. My laptop started to 'whir' excessively every few days, so I called in TryTechy, and asked them to fix that. They decided to change my hard drive (which was only 2 years old), and as soon as they did, (i) the whirring went crazy and started whirring as though it were about to explode every 10-15 minutes, and (ii) the laptop was noticeably slower. TryTechy tried to blame this on "you have to understand, your laptop is old". Uh, it was old before you changed the hard drive, but it was in a far better condition before you changed it. So I spent $232 and ended up with (i) the original problem not solved, indeed greatly worsened, and (ii) a new problem (laptop suddenly much slower). The technician's attitude (Hassan) was really poor - trying to fob me off with silly excuses, and changing his tune several times. In short: completely untrustworthy characters and worse than a waste of money (and time): my laptop is far worse after their service. Go elsewhere. read more

Listen to me: if you want someone knowledgeable about repairs, fast/reliable and KIND, I'm begging you to bring your business here. First of all, my roommate had a virus on her computer that was causing so much stress, and within a couple hours Techy picked up the laptop and it was ready the very next day - literally for a fraction of the cost of what she would've been charged at the Apple Store. My own experience was a little different. I had a hardware problem with my screen and was quoted an exorbitant amount from Apple to get it fixed, even though I knew it was manufacturing issue. I went to Techy to get a cheaper quote, and was absolutely blown away by the customer service I received. I was told exactly what was wrong with the computer along with detailed information I could take back to Apple to once again plead my case, and it worked! They are fixing it for free. This is someone who is so invested in customer service and care that he helped me in every way he could, even though that meant he lost out on my business. Very disappointed. I'll start from the beginning. I first tried messaging through Yelp to make an appointment but response was delayed when I asked how to make an appointment. I ended up finally calling to make an appointment for pick up. Telephone operator very nice and helpful (and for that, one extra star). Made an appointment for pick up at my place of employment for a specific time that worked for me because I am in and out of meetings most days. Technician comes 30 minutes early for pick up and while normally I am not bothered by timeliness, I set a specific pick up time bc I knew I would be busy at any other time. I'm hit with a text message explaining I'll be charged with a $15 no show fee - but for what? If I'm able to show up at 2pm and set a pick-up time for 2pm, why would I be warned about a no show fee at 1:30? The exact same thing occurred with drop off. Set up drop-off for 10am, and get a notification at 9am for tech arrival. Very annoying. I was also informed by the technician that although the repair service was completed on Saturday, Monday was a better day to retrieve my desktop due to his schedule. Trying to be accommodating, I agreed but as I poke through other Yelp reviews, there have been other customers citing that technicians have dropped off on Sundays, evenings, etc. Lastly, lost ALL my data from my corrupted hard drive, and with the replacement, don't even have one file or photo from the previous. And for that inconvenience, I wish I hadn't gone with this service. read more

You don't need a new laptop! You need to give Techy a week (max) to pick up your computer, fix it, and drop it back off to you better than it was when it was brand new. Techy's pricing is exponentially better than these other computer repair shops out here and Yaffett in particular is so down to Earth that you'll never feel silly asking a question. This company put replacements phone covers that are not durable and then charge you $5.00. I thought it was a good plan, only to find out twice that the covers were trash. If you drop your phone lightly or sit it down a little to hard, the cover will crack. Do Not waste your money on this trash. I had an extremely pleasant experience with Techy. I bought a replacement screen from Amazon for my macbook pro 15 inch retina mid 2014 that I had damaged while travelling, causing the screen to have double vision. I placed an order with amazon to have the screen installed as well, they matched me up with a home property expert to install the screen with a 61% positive review rate. I said to myself, if he breaks it, I could never forgive myself. I tried to work with Amazon to find a suitable installation person, but to no avail. Decided to cancel and went on trusty yelp to look for someone. I messaged many and got a quick reply from Yaffet. Her extreme responsiveness had me visit their website, and when I realized that they would come to me to pick up and drop off my laptop and the cost of installation was cheapest of all the ones that quoted me, that was it and I trusted them to take my laptop away to have it repaired. Service was great, I scheduled a pick up for 2:30pm at 1:30pm, my courier Daniel was timely and arrived at 2:20pm. I got my macbook back this morning, they sent me a text and asked me where I wanted it dropped off and at what time. I can't recommend these guys highly enough. I had cracked my MacBook Pro Retina screen LCD unit and had earlier tried to get it repaired unsuccessfully with another shop. I found Techy on Yelp and gave them a call. They quoted me a price nearly $80 cheaper than the cheapest competitors, and referred me to their website app. It took only a couple of minutes to register, schedule a repair and a pick-up a few hours later. I immediately received an email and phone text repair and pickup confirmation. One of the co-owners and founders, Yaffet, personally came to pick it up as scheduled, and texted me on the way. They had to order a part, but the computer was literally fixed and ready by the day they promised (3-4 business days later). I was able to track the repair on their on-line app, and they contacted me by email and phone text when it was ready. I logged in, scheduled a drop-off for an hour later, and Yaffet again swung by and personally dropped it off so I could check it and make sure all was well. A week later he again emailed me to make sure that everything was still good. I've helped develop a number of technology start-ups over the years, and I have to say that Yaffet and his crew are really doing this right. It was fast, inexpensive, has very responsive personalized service, and they use efficient and easy-to-use web and mobile phone technology. My computer was having trouble charging and had lagging issues. They only fixed the first problem. My computer is charging again. But, the lagging reoccurred within ten minutes of me rebooting the computer. As for the experience it was not nearly as transparent as advertised. They told me the replacement part would be in within three days. After the fourth day I called to ask about the delay. Then they told me that the part had yet to be received. Two days later they tell me that the problem was fixed but that replacing the battery was recommended because the model laptop I own has a history of battery issues. The problem is they could have told me that when I called about my laptop. That would have allowed them to order the battery sooner and prevented further delay of returning my laptop. Overall it took over a week for them to only fix one of the two problems. I would look elsewhere if you have a computer that may need part replacements. read more
