I initially contacted PWS Electronics to request a quote for repairing my TV. I promptly received a diagnosis along with a price estimate. I followed up with what I believe were reasonable questions--specifically, whether the quoted price included labor and parts, and whether it came with any type of warranty. After sending these questions, I received no response. I followed up a second time, a week later, but still did not hear back. I find it unprofessional to provide a quote and then fail to respond to follow-up inquiries, especially after multiple attempts to communicate on my end. read more

My 2015 Samsung TV became inoperable so I contacted PWS Electronics to discuss my options. Paul quickly identified the problem and offered a reasonable price for the repair. We scheduled a Monday morning appointment. He called me this morning to confirm the appointment and then arrived when he said he would. I emailed them to inquire about having a home visit and paying the fee, since my TV is too large and we don't have a vehicle to transport it to the shop. Paul gave me a call and asked me questions about what my issue was, so that he can potentially determine what things he needed to bring to fix it on the spot, if necessary. Overall I was extremely pleased and satisfied with the work PWS electronics did to fix my LG OLED TV. It was a warranty repair and PWS provided a clear and detailed written estimate which was accepted by my warranty provider. When the ordered part (motherboard) arrived, PWS came and completed the repair the same day. My only complaint is that I called 6 to 8 different providers or four I stumbled upon PWS. They need to advertise or market their services more broadly, because I would recommend them in a heartbeat. They did an excellent job! read more

Excellent service ! I took my almost-new LG TV to Paul because my HDMI went black (I now see it's a common problem) Paul checked it several ways and found it was AOK. He charged me nothing, so he'll get my business for a long time to come ! Yup .... straightforward and honest. What a pleasure to deal with a repair person who is as responsive and knowledgeable as Paul. We had gritted our teeth through 3+ weeks of dealing with the incompetents at Samsung and the clown-patrol contractors they hire to provide service on their TV brand. A waste of time from start to finish (Why, if they value your business, do they make you listen to a recorded voice for 90 minutes telling you that "Your call is VERY important to us"? How about hiring more people and training them?) In contrast PWS knew immediately what was wrong with our TV, ordered the part prior to coming to our house, and replaced it as promised. PWS did a great job figuring out the video problem with my 65" Curved Screen LG LCD TV by looking at pics that I sent via text. After watching a bunch of YouTube videos, I had a pretty good idea of the problem, so I felt comfortable with PWS' after they told me the plan to fix. Another repair shop wanted to charge $120 just to come out to look at it, so there was no way I was going down that path. Paul, the PWS tech, showed up with part in hand and fixed the monitor in just a few minutes at a cost way, way less than the price of a new TV. He was fast, friendly, and neat. I live in DC and based off the reviews, decided to give PWS a call on Sat about my 70" Sharp Aquos TV that was acting up. They had an appointment on Monday, so I scheduled it and Darryl came out exactly on time and with his toolbox ready. He was incredibly nice, quick (it took me an hour to take the back off the TV to do my own checks-he did it in like 5 minutes), and had all of the parts to check my television to see if it was a certain board that was broken. The bad news? It was my panel, so the TV is trash. However, if I ever had a problem with my new TV I will purchase I will give them a call. Very kind, professional people! AWESOME - I had a capacitor go out on one of my electronic circuit boards. I called them up and they asked to drop the board off and they would have it replaced the next day. I brought the control board by and they looked at capacitors and confirmed they needed to be replaced. He asked me to come back in 30 minutes. Picked up the board and put it back and everything was working again. Thanks again for the quick service and helping me out. About a year ago my TV display went out and I bought a new TV. After taking my old TV into PWS... They indicated to me that it could be fixed for a great price. Went back two days later to pick up. Low and behold... The TV is working a year later as it did prior to the display going out. I returned the new TV I purchased and kept the fixed one. We had our TV issues with screen flickering while it still connects with our laptop. We originally approached Best Buy Geek squad, they pretty much just turned us away with how our TV isn't from them, they don't have capability to fix it and other non-sense. We were pretty frustrated until we found PWS Electronics. They have great reviews here for a reason. Although it was quite a drive to get there, Paul pretty much recognized that our LED bulbs were out and they needed to be replaced. He explained everything so well and so kindly. We can truly see he enjoys what he does. He is very passionate and knowledgeable. He gave us a rough estimate and promised to contact us if he finds any other issues. When we got contacted that the repair is finished, we went there again. Paul shows us testing it to ensure it is completely fixed! He pretty much just charged what he estimated when we dropped it off. There were no other surprise charges which I'm sure some places do. It was reasonable enough to not buy a new TV. I had to have a "professional and authorized service center" diagnose a failing television for me to take advantage of my credit card's extended warranty program. Paul took care of me and got my television diagnosed within 48 hours, which gave me the documentation my credit card company asked for. I couldn't recommend them highly enough, especially since services like Best Buy's "Geek Squad" will only service and diagnose products bought at Best Buy. Our TV kept turning itself on and off. We took it to PWS and they took care of the problem within a couple of days for under $100 (a lot less than it would have cost us for a new TV). Bottom line: Took my TV in to PWS for service on 3/9/2012 for service. Took 2 years to get it back....not fixed. Once the problem was ascertained, I specifically asked PWS if the TV was worth repairing or should I just scrap it for parts. I was assured that it was worth fixing and that they would get the parts in about a month to complete the repair. Month after month went by and no communication was forthcoming on behalf of PWS. I would call every few months to check on the TV to see if there were parts available to repair it. Over and over again, there were no parts. I had to initiate all status inquiries. November, 2013 PWS called to finally say they were unable to repair the tv. I finally decided to go pick up my tv in February. It took nearly an hour to pick it up and return their loaner. PWS was rude when I came in to get me tv and appeared to stall on purpose. When the tv finally was found w/o the stand the repairman asked if I had actually brought one in. I stated I did as I would have no other way to display the tv since we did not have any tv wall mounts in the house. Once again, it took several minutes to have the tv stand produced. The stand was missing the bolts used to secure the stand to the tv. By this point i just wanted to leave and chose to find accept that there were no bolts to be found. PWS get a D for Quality because they did give us a loaner TV for the entire 2 years they had our TV. Poor customer service, poor communication, lack of knowledge of part availability. lack of parking. read more

Today I'm doing my Taxes for 2013 and I noticed a charge that I didn't understand and decided to do some investigating. I identified the charge and remembered this experience. Last year my 60" Sony TV rear projection picture went black suddenly. I got online and called who I thought was a Sony TV repair specialist. This guy came out and said my TV from 2004 was done and I should just buy a new one. He said as a matter of fact he would only charge me $100 to take it off my hands. I told him to go away. I got on Yelp and found a good review for PWS Electronics and called for an appointment. Great experience! Our Samsung LCD randomly powered off randomly and we thought for sure it had seen its last day. Fortunately, I came across the Yelp review for PWS Electronics. My experience end-to-end was wonderful. Paul gave me a quote over the phone and said if I brought it in, he would provide a free estimate to complete the repair! From there, he we agreed upon a price to complete the repair and if it were to exceed that price he would contact me. Paul said he would need 2 days to complete the repair. No problem. To my surprise, he called me a few hours later and said the repair was complete! It was a common problem with my Samsung Model and he had the parts available.
