I come to this place every time I come to Austin. I enjoy their their food very much. The atmosphere is something left to be desired. But they make up for it a good food and good service. I strongly recommend this place

Got the veggie ramen delivered. Decent noodles and add ins. Not the biggest fan of the veggie miso broth tho - too salty in my opinion.

Had this Togo. Broth was delicious and flavored well and my ramen was super fresh and noodles were cooked perfectly. Service was slow but that's ok. The food made up for it.

Japanese curry with (mashed) potato pancake. Soooooo good. Served only in the evenings.

Been going here for years. The food is SO good, and the vibe of the place is imminently old Austin. Owner Freddy established this place early in Austin's ramen wave, fusing Japanese ramen with a Texas lean, summer specific menu items, and a continually dynamic approach to the beer and sake selections. I'm always happy when we go, and sooooo full when we leave. My current favorite is the Japanese curry served only in the evenings. I also enjoy the sliced pork option in the miso broth and an extra ajitsma egg. An unsung hero is the spicy house red chili oil--get it in the side to just taste how good it is. There are so many good places in 2020 to get great ramen in Austin, and OG Michi has established itself as ramen royalty.

On a cool Austin night, there's nothing better than some warm ramen from a local ramen joint! Michi Ramen is always a hit and although I've only ever had the South Lamar takeout location, it has never disappointed with everything I've tried. They are always takeout only at the South Lamar location so COVID-19 hasn't skewed their services much but nonetheless they are always on-time with great ramen. My go-to dish: Michi Ramen Bowl! - Pork Belly is the best option (although I wish there was more in each serving!) - Includes roasted nori, mayu oil, woodear mushrooms, and green onions - I always add corn for $0.50! - Sometimes I add butter - so decadent! My dish tonight: Michi Ramen Bowl w/ pork chashu Support local ATX restaurants!

For starters, I placed an order that took over one hour to process which I would understand for any other restaurant for takeout but not for a restaurant with a whole business model based on takeout. This automatically took it to three stars for me; HOWEVER, I got the food and was pleasantly surprised which changed my opinion. I got a Michi Ramen which sadly didn't have any pork, but I was fine with that as the ramen tasted adequate. I don't really know if I'd go here over Tatsu-Ya or Sazan, but I think it's worth the fair shot for you to make that opinion yourself!

No inside dining, just a take out post. Taste is bad with a lot of artificial flavors, very thirsty afterwards (proved to have MSG)

MI-SO-HOT Spicy pork bone broth with miso. I opted for the keto version and replaced the noodles with bean sprouts. This was my favorite dish! The broth was rich and flavorful, although it was a little too salty for my taste. CHILI OIL GYOZA jalapeño ,soy sauce, chili oil, shallots, negi, cilantro & spicy garlic furikake. They were so nice to give these to me for free! The gyoza was flavorful, but there were almost too many flavors going on, the soy sauce, chili oil and furikake somewhat overpowered the taste of the gyoza itself. Also a little salty for me. Overall, a great dining experience. It's a cute Japanese restaurant with lots of fun Japanese displays and a lively atmosphere. The staff were especially friendly and welcoming. There were four chefs and sitting at the sushi bar you got to see the goodies as they were made. Austyn was the person who took care of me and they were wonderful. Very polite and provided great recommendations for the night. Got the sake flight and all three I'd get again. Started with the Barbacoa dumplings....ummmm amazing, soooo flavorful. Next up was the Brussels sprouts and y'all those left with the bowl empty. The only rec I gave Austyn was to tell peeps to stir them to get all the sauce goodness mixed in. Didn't realize there was a sauce until the end soooo that would have probably made me lick the bowl! Also got the Toro fig and I'm not gonna lie I was shocked. Never thought pairing fig with tuna would be good, again rec I gave was to give a spoon so you could sip all that sauce goodness!!! Last on my dining journey was the Prime Market Nigiri Moriawase. This was the chefs choice of five nigiri pieces and they again were delicious. The downside was the omakase was for 2 people, portion size sooo I need to find a plus one, any takers?! I'd go back to try other items and get a few of the same.

The Robot Ramen was light, yet rich, the meat was succulent (and not too thin, at the risk of being dry) and the noodles were al dente--both were cooked nicely. Lastly, the Pork Chashu Fried Rice was a burst of umami flavor, from the shoyu glazed pork rib to the shiitake mushroom lying underneath. Solid dish--no notes! Service: No complaints! We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon walking in. Our waiter was attentive. Ambiance: Casual, modern. A vibrant experience, to say the least, from the flora draping from the ceiling, to the warm colors permeating throughout. Parking: Street parking available. Pay note of parking signs!

Somehow, against all odds, Ramen Del Barrio still exceeds its reputation. There's only one vegan ramen option but it's all you need, both in terms of portion size and flavor. I've never had anything quite like the mole tsukemen, a Tex-Mex mashup pairing rich mole broth served separately from handmade noodles so thick, you might mistake them for udon at a glance. Simple toppings of fried tortilla strips, avocado, charred jalapeno, and caramelized onions adorn the top. Before this moment, I thought I just wasn't a fan of mole. It turns out, I had never tried great mole before. This stuff dazzles with layered spices, melded so well that I can't pick a single one out from the pack. It's not overwhelmingly hot, but definitely leaves your lips tingling. I'm glad I finally got there before they close up shop at their current location in Hana World Market on December 21st, and even happier to know that their new brick-and-mortar isn't too far behind. Apr 8, 2026 review:…read more I've been at Nori two times in person and recently tried their to-go order. We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Volcano roll was a deep fried roll which had spinach, avocado, sweet potato. On top: spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, Caviart and tempura onion. I would say this is the best vegetarian sushi place I've found in Austin. So if you're in search, this wouldn't disappoint you.

We ordered their tuna poke appetizer, trio roll, austin FC roll, and the matcha maker drink. Matcha Maker was a whiskey drink, tasted pretty fruity and was actually delicious. The whiskey taste comes later. The tuna poke was good, it came with 5-6 chunks of raw tuna with some avocados, which sat on top of some seaweed salad, and had 5 pieces of tortilla chips to pair with. The trio roll and austin fc roll were both delicious. The trio roll had no flavor, as it had 3 different sashimis, but was perfect with soy sauce and wasabi. The austin fc roll came with eel sauce and their house sauce, it was good on it's own. We were starving by the time the food came, since it did take a while as it was crowded.....like every seat in the house was taken!
