    Chicken Fried Chicken

Wow, I love that there is definitely a lot of parking spots for the restaurant! It is more family oriented, and there are a lot of children on the weekend that come to play in the outdoor space. When you walk in, you walk up towards her, which is great if you are coming with a large group of people and want to pay separately. I will say that compared to other breakfast spots and or home-cooked restaurants, the price did seem a little bit higher however, the quality of the food is super. I personally had the chicken fried chicken and it was excellent. The chicken was so juicy and fried to perfection and impaired so well with the mashed potatoes and jalapeño gravy, it came with. The chicken shrimps were also very good with pure chicken breast meat, which is excellent. The meatloaf also did look good, but I did not try it as my mom did not share however I will say she did finish it all, so it must have been good as well. They have free soft, serve ice cream, which is pretty cool. Overall give this place a try as their food is fresh and very good quality.

This Is It, right here, all you need. Fried shrimp, toast onion rings, green beans, and those luscious Black Eyed Peas. Homestyle meal I try to get something different each time. I go a great variety of food to select from service has always been top-notch casual environment. Family oriented, great place for date something for everybody everything thus far that I've tried has been 100% good ummmmm ummmmm good. Sundays at the church it is very very crowded. That's just a heads up.

We walked in for a late lunch around 1pm there was nowhere to sit but there were empty reserved tables. They found us a small 2 seat table close to the back door - as they proceeded to tell us we needed to be done by 2:30 since they had a big party coming in at 3pm. Bison burger was good, truly disappointed in the meatloaf - gravy was extremely salty. Will most likely not return, disappointed in service & quality of food - for the price it should've been much better! Definitely not worth $65!

Went for a work lunch and we all enjoyed this place and will be returning. What we ordered : Chicken fried chicken Bison Burger Patty Melt Asian chicken salad Steak Salad Beef street tacos I love their steak salad! But it is spinach base so I mix romaine and even just spinach alone is super tasty. Service is great and attentive. You order, get a number, food is brought to your table. I have ordered curbside & they are great with having food on time. Interior is spacious and clean nice ambience.

I visit this location with some friends and had a great time. The staff kept checking in on us and making sure everything was okay. Though my friend received his food significantly later than us, we still had a good time. The food was simply amazing. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was one of the best I've had in long time. Definitely recommend. We also shared the chip and queso, which we demolished in seconds. I also had the banana pudding which was decent. It was a little thick but it was still palatable. Definitely recommend

Southern style food that's made right. Service and atmosphere: Both outstanding. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant itself was clean, well organised and decorated. You can definitely feel the southern hospitality and charm here, especially now with Christmas holidays upon us. Food and drinks: Menu is well designed which helps you make your choices easy. There are many different types of foods and dishes to choose from, i.e.: sandwiches, plates with sides, salads, soups etc. Our dishes came on time and were well prepared, presented, and most importantly tasted very good. Their seasoning and flavours were on point. The menu offers both nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Pricing: $$ very affordable and worth the quality.

My family and I went to celebrate Father's Day. My sister thought our parents would enjoy it. My Mom had a tortilla soup. But it was too spicy and she couldn't finish it. My Dad did enjoy his tacos though he said they were a bit spicy. Those came with chips and queso. I had the green goddess with salmon salad. Mia's is generous with the salmon serving. It's good and abundant. I took a bit more than half home. The vanilla soft serve is OK. I've had tastier soft serve at other places. I wish they had chocolate soft serve so that you can mix it. It's a shame that the tortilla soup is too spicy. Service is great, and there's plenty of free parking.

We tried Mia's table for the first time & it was okay! We weren't super impressed with our entrees, the "Jalapeño gravy" for the chicken sandwich wasn't very good & didn't have any spice, the sweet potato fries were really great though! The beef tacos were 90% coleslaw, but other than that okay. The chips and queso were also fine! Not the best but good. I probably wouldn't come back to eat but the restaurant itself was cool, they had lots of seating with a cool outdoor space that would be fun if you had kids! They also had free ice cream cones that were good. But you could get better food at Whataburger, sonic, chickflia, etc.

Meatloaf w/ Mashed Potatoes & Creamed Corn

I was in the mood for some comfort food and this place definitely hit the spot! Their chicken fried chicken never disappoints. It's their claim to fame dish (along with the chicken fried steak). I got the meatloaf with creamed corn and mashed potatoes. Giving me all the "homey" vibes. Baked beans are a bit sweet, but loaded with flavors. The Ro Ro Onion rings were good, however, I didn't care for the dipping sauce it came with. Too tangy! I'm not a kid, but I sure took advantage of the free ice cream! :) Service was wonderful. Servers came around asking if everything was okay and once they see you're done, they ask to take the plates. There's plenty of outdoor seating and play area for kids. This restaurant has shared parking with Torchy's Tacos, and Kirby Ice House. Very busy area, especially during the weekends.

Amazing service! Fabulous food! I picked up and pulled into a parking space and they were there with my order! We ordered the chicken fried chicken (was recommended!) and it was fabulous with the mashed potatoes!!

A very impressive operation! You order at the walk up counter service then they bring to your table. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. We had a group and they happily put tables together for us. Even though it was busy, the wait for food was not very long. They also have outdoor seating. This is a great place to come with family or team members from your office. Now as for the food I had the red snapper fish tacos. They were seasoned just right not too salty and I really enjoyed the chips and queso that came with. Team members tried the steak, grilled chicken sandwich, and chicken fried steak. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Using Waze this is a hard place to find as it is behind office buildings not on the feeder as the address suggests. Further finding outdoor parking is not possible at a peak hour but note that there is an easily accessible parking garage. This Treebeards appearance was very pretty (not what I was expecting giving my experience with the downtown location and I am not sure that it is still around). Also, some other nice restaurants in this block. The restaurant was packed with professionally dressed people. The waiter took our order, and he was accommodating to substitutions and our selection of side orders. I got fried catfish. This is not a normal selection for me as I will normally avoid fried foods other than fries and chips (yes, and I wonder why I do not lose the 5 lbs. that I need to lose). Service was quick and our order was perfect. The friend catfish was outstanding as it was right out of the fryer. It was a very pleasant experience and I would happily go back.

Treebeards off the Katy Freeway - Solid Comfort Food in a Convenient (but Tricky) Spot…read moreWe stopped by Treebeards on the Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas, and it was exactly what we needed for a hearty lunch. Finding the place can be a little confusing if you're coming right off the Katy Freeway because of the unique building structure it's tucked into -- just take it slow and you'll spot it. Once you're there, though, there's plenty of parking in the shared lot. Fair warning: it does get very crowded since so many other restaurants and retail spots share the same area, so you might have to circle a bit during peak times. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed. They have seating both inside and outside, with plenty of tables plus some comfy couches where you can settle in and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. You order at the counter when you walk in, then grab a seat wherever you like -- super straightforward. We went with the gumbo, two orders of the chicken pot pie, and a shepherd's pie. Overall, the food was good -- solid, comforting, and filling -- but it wasn't quite amazing. We've definitely had better versions of the shepherd's pie, chicken pot pies, and gumbo at other spots around Houston. That said, the sides were legit! The macaroni and cheese and red beans and rice were both tasty and hit the spot. The jalapeño cornbread had great flavor, but man, it was extremely dry. Like, the kind of dry where you take a bite and immediately need a big swig of your drink to get it down. For dessert, we split the yellow cake with chocolate frosting. My wife really enjoyed it, though I'm not a huge fan of that style. I did notice they offer bread pudding, so I'll definitely be trying that next time. All in all, Treebeards delivered a satisfying meal in a chill setting. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area and craving some down-home comfort food.

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.
