I've read all the hype about this small chain and have a new one opened around the corner from where I live in Clemmons, NC, but ended up at this location to meet some of my favorites people. I can now say I understand all the good reviews and the hype! Everything about Miam is great. The food we had, the service, the speed of food coming out, and the variety of options. This location even has a bar! Offering mimosas and coffee cocktails on a Sunday. The place was very clean and Sunday meant a big breakfast crowd. We managed to get seating though straight away. The decor is nice and simple and bright. Our server was nice and attentive, came by several times until we were ready ! Just got coffees to drink, even though they do have specialty coffee drinks. I'm not a big breakfast eater so was glad to see they had other options. I went with lunch for breakfast! I got the amazing chicken souvlaki plate. This is a serious plate of food. Perfectly cooked chicken, pita, Greek salad which is so colorful and fresh, plus you get a side. I got the fries. Which were chunky and fresh and better than most fries I've had. So much food I barely made a dent in it. The tzatziki comes on the side, it was a little runnier than most I've had before, I think I prefer the thicker creamier ones. My friends had the French toast with pecans, which she enjoyed, 2 big pieces of thick toast, with butter. She also got a side of bacon, which was a nice sharing serving . The melted scramble was the other plate we had on the table. Another big portion, the shredded hash browns looked delicious, you get toast and a big eggy, veggie and meaty scramble ! So much food we needed another 3 people really. Food comes out fresh, hot and fairly quickly. Impressive on a busy day. Restrooms are nice and big and smelt nice! Always a good thing! Plenty of parking around the building. The only thing I thought was kinda weird was the set up of the restaurant, kind of a maze, weird entrance, but the food and service were awesome. I finally got to try Miam Breakfast House and I enjoyed it. I was happy to see that another breakfast spot was put in the same building as Tex and Shirley's. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a very popular spot so it is busy but the ambiance is nice, it's family friendly so this is a great spot for everyone. They even have a bar, which is also nice. My food was delicious. I had never had a grilled blueberry muffin but this was a nice balance of sweet and savory. I definitely recommend Miami Breakfast House as a regular spot to enjoy a good meal. read more

I see why this place is always packed. Caught some early morning breakfast and will definitely be back. Large portions, couldn't even finish my French toast. They make in house fresh orange juice. Very fresh with minimal pulp. The restaurant is very clean and plenty of places to sit. I also noticed they had a bar area where you can also eat and order drinks. I made a reservation for my birthday and specifically called ahead to confirm an 11:00-11:30 AM arrival. I received a text confirmation suggesting 10:00 AM would be better, and I replied clearly that I would be there at 11:30. After that, I received multiple phone calls asking me to come at 12 instead. Long story short, there was a lack of clear communication, which was frustrating--especially for a planned birthday outing. That said, once we were seated, the experience truly turned around thanks to Wil, our waiter. Wil was absolutely amazing--so sweet, warm, and genuinely welcoming. He went out of his way to make me feel special on my birthday, and that meant a lot. His kindness and positive energy really stood out and made the visit memorable. The food was delicious and plentiful. I ordered the Combo of the Day ($13), which came with two eggs any style, bacon or sausage, a side, and a choice of buttermilk pancakes or French toast. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the price--you won't leave hungry. The place was packed, which speaks volumes about its popularity. The ambience was great--beautiful space, lively energy, and a welcoming atmosphere despite how busy it was. Overall, the food and ambience were on point, and Wil's service was outstanding, but the reservation communication could use improvement. Miam is a decent small-time chain with ties to Cagney's Kitchen in NC. This particular location was convenient and lined up well with what I was doing for the day. Walking in was an experience. It felt like I was transported to a hotel-type dining area and lobby room. I'm not sure if they're still figuring out the layout, but it was different. Service was good and the chicken and waffles hit the right notes. I'd certainly get it again if I visit out of convenience. It's nothing spectacular, not bad but not great either. So first things first, 3 stars because we were told 20-25 mins, our text came through only to wait by the hostess stand for another 15 mins. We were seated an hour after checking in. 3x the quoted time frame. Everyone WAS super pleasant, food was great. It was valentine's brunch so that could've been the reason for the longer wait? But if it's 30 or 45 mins, or even leaning on an hour, say that. And don't text a party if the table isn't actually ready. Aside from that, the food was delicious. We got the blueberry hush puppies, double biscuit breakfast, shrimp and grits with home fries and a side of fruit. Hush puppies, perfection. The honey butter is a real nice touch. The double biscuit was enough food to bring home for our teenager also. Shrimp and grits, they do not lie when the list all the meats. Easily 2/3 meat to 1/3 grits. Very tasty but brought at least 3/4 of it home. Home fries, perfection, crispy and seasoned. And the side of fruit was actually blueberries, strawberries and sliced bananas, instead of a bunch of melon and soft grapes like some places do. Server was great. Overall, I'd love to come back, but I will 100% make a reservation if possible next time. read more

We started with fresh-squeezed orange juice, and you can immediately taste the difference it's bright, refreshing, and real. We had an almond milk latte that was smooth and comforting, perfect for a slow morning. The food honestly surprised us in the best way. The red, white & blue French toast was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and not overly sweet just really well done. The avocado toast was fresh, simple, and balanced. And the crab cakes benedict? We gave them an extra star because we like their interactive waitlist. It allowed us to see our spot in line and an estimate on how much longer we had to wait. The good stops there. Per our receipt and per the seating chart, our server was Heather - however, since she never introduced herself, I can't confirm that's correct. She seemed impatient, made us feel rushed, didn't get our full order correctly, was inattentive and just didn't seem to care how the food was presented to us. I ordered the Touch of Southern skillet and the goat cheese and pesto grits. The hollandaise came on the side, which was perfect because I wanted to try it before adding it to my food. Unfortunately, when it arrived it was all over the tray and had spilled into my bowl some, and once the bowl was transferred to the table, it was all over the table. The skillet itself could have had a good flavor profile, but there were more hashbrowns and meat pieces than fried green tomatoes. The eggs were carelessly added on top like an afterthought and the cheese was in some spots and not others. The goat cheese and pesto grits were not well executed. She forgot them with our food and so they were likely just thrown together. The flavors went well together, but based on this experience, not worth it to order them here again. My husband ordered 3 pancakes with no powdered sugar, bacon, sausage and hash browns. Not surprising, the pancakes showed up with powdered sugar on them. The hash browns looked like they were in the pan just long enough to warm them. The sausage patties were burnt as if they were forgotten. The bacon seemed to be the only part of his meal done well. The pancakes tasted as though they are a Bisquick-homemade batter combination - nothing special about them at all. One of the table busers stopped by to grab some plates off our table - she smiled at us and greeted us, which was more than maybe Heather did at all her visits to our table combined. We were disappointed when this place became Cagney's and we were disappointed again today. If you went here when it was Cagney's, you're missing nothing. The place is still decorated the same and neither the food nor the service has improved. One other thing to note, they are not always open, despite their open sign always being on. Either they don't know it's always on or they can't figure out how to turn it off. read more

The name is French (it means "Yum"), the owner is Albanian, and the cuisine is largely American (with a few Mediterranean influences), but no matter what you call it, Miam has all the makings of a very solid breakfast/brunch option. It opened recently in the former Cagney's location near the Palladium, a spacious building with plenty of seating. Paintings for sale by local artists adorn the walls, and the interior is bright and clean. Miam has no shortage of breakfast options, including lighter and (very few) gluten free offerings. Amid the various permutations of eggs/meat/bread, you'll find plenty that looks familiar (omeletes, waffles, benedicts, etc.) as well as a few dishes that set Miam apart such as blueberry hushpuppies. Miam is also one of the few places in the area to offer a Monte Cristo on the daily menu. While this variety is definitely appreciated, some of Miam's naming conventions are idiosyncratic to say the least. The Mexican omelet is called The Mixture, and while The Island calls to mind Hawaiian, here it's corned beef...with brie in place of cheddar (?!). This was too much of a curiosity to pass up, so I went with the Island and home fries while my wife opted for Red, White, and Blue French Toast. Both meals hit the spot. The French Toast, which gets its name from the strawberry/blueberry/banana topping, was served on thick bread with fresh fruit. The omelet - meat, caramelized onions, spinach, and tomatoes inside/melted brie on top - was cooked to an appealing golden brown. The corned beef seemed to be made in-house, thankfully (the canned stuff ranges from passable to revolting), and the brie added creaminess to each bite. The home fries were nothing fancy, but they were nice and crispy. Though Miam was decently busy when we arrived, we didn't have to wait for a table, nor was the wait for our food terribly long. Bishma provided attentive service throughout the meal though I did have to wait longer than expected for the check. Miam's prices are slightly higher relative to Cagney's (our dishes were $12 apiece), but you do get plenty of food for your money. Every so often, "Where can I get a good breakfast?" makes its rounds in local social media groups, and while the same few reliable options that get trotted out each time shouldn't be dropped, Miam should definitely be added to that conversation. read more

I have been here twice now each time has been a great experience. The grits are super amazing, so amazing that everyone at our table had raised eyebrows at the perfect seasoning of the grits. My husband and I decided to try Miam for breakfast instead of our usual spot since it was early and not crowded yet. We each got the "combo of the day" which had 2 eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, choice of pancakes or french toast and 1 side. We chose bacon, fruit and grits. The french toast is made with challah bread and was a little dry for my liking but had a good flavor. Service was fast and friendly. We were checked on frequently by our waitress and others. The food was good and we will definitely be back. There were many options and combinations which were nice and overwhelming at the same time! The ambiance was just like the old Tex and Shirley's with even the same abstract art on the walls which I am not a fan of. The art is not warm and relaxing but feels rather chaotic as my husband described it. But overall a good experience so I will recommend it for at least breakfast. This is our favorite place. The location is great and the parking is great. This just gets you in the door. The seating and atmosphere is comfortable and we've never had a problem getting seated quickly. The service is top notch and friendly. The food comes out quick. We have ordered many different breakfast items and are always satisfied. The soft scrambled eggs are always soft scrambled. Each item we get is delicious. The portion size is generous.
