First Watch in Clemmons will ALWAYS be one of my favorite places to stop in for breakfast. The food is always so good and so fresh. I ordered the Bacado Omelet with a side of the Million dollar potatoes and toast paired with a purple haze to drink. However, I left a 3 start review because the service was not very good at all the day me and my friend visited here the restaurant was not very busy at all and there seemed to be a lot of staff working that day so there really was no excuse. One of the best breakfast places around the area. We have eaten here a few times now, this is a breakfast brunch joint so it closes early, 2:30. An open, high ceiling interior with a short bar. The host station is center as you walk in the door, with the cash register at the front. It can be ridiculously busy and over crowded on most weekends and at peak times during holidays, with over half an hour wait times. I tend to avoid those times, and its a relaxed and enjoyable breakfast brunch place. On any given Monday through Friday after 10.30-11ish, you can walk right in and sit. Good omelettes, along with bowls and the menu has a nice variety of breakfast brunch options. Our servers each visit have always been kind and friendly. My last time in, ordered an omelette with fruit the Chili Chorizo and it was very good. A solid choice. A well made omelette loaded with roasted onions, chorizo, avo and cheeses, topped with diced green chili. Before that, the farmstand breakfast tacos also a solid choice. Three well prepared tacos with a side black beans, fresh avocado and pico with scrambled eggs, chicken, and chorizo. Their breakfast donuts, when available are a treat all on their own. Another cool part of this eatery, they juice daily. This place was packed this Sunday. Even with get in line we waited 40+ minutes. We ordered the million dollar bacon which was great. Unfortunately it all ran downhill from there. First Watch is exactly this type of place. Their food is always fresh and the staff and service is friendly and helpful. Only giving a four star because what I ordered lacked an ingredient . The food was absolutely delicious and the service was quick and friendly. I ordered the BLT Eggs Benedict and it lacked the advertised vine ripened tomatoes. It was still a great Benedict but would have loved to have had the tomatoes. Seating is abundant with indoor, outdoor and a bar area. They do serve alcoholic breakfast beverages. Came on a Sunday mid day brunch time and it was busy. I waited around 30 mins to be seated but First Watch doesn't disappoint. It was a bit chilly so I orders the hot chocolate. It was a mountain of hot goodness. I also ordered the farmhouse hash with scrambled eggs. On the photo it is missing the toast that comes with it because I ordered it with no butter and it they brought it with butter. However, Madison, who was our waitress, immediately changed it and brought it nice and hot to the table. Great experience, great service and yummy food. Come early or be ready to wait. P.S. I've been to this location (and only this location of this particular chain) twice now. If I had rated it after my first visit, it would have gotten a solid 4.5 stars - the eggs are completely unseasoned, which is bizarre to me, but other than that it was really good - but then I came back for a second visit. Both times I ordered the same thing - the Trifecta with scrambled eggs, pork sausage links & a Belgian waffle. This time (07/22/2025) it was disappointing. The service was exceptional, just like the first time. I left our server a 25% tip - I worked as a server myself for a few years, and she was great. The fruit compote that comes with the waffle is also amazing - I asked for extra, and they gave me three times the normal amount. But again, my eggs were completely unseasoned, and it's difficult to salt eggs once they've cooked. Most of the eggs weren't seasoned enough, even after I'd salted them with the annoying salt grinder - which is so completely redundant, salt is salt is salt is salt, it's not like grinding it releases extra flavor like it does with pepper - and some of the eggs were way too salted. I wish they would have seasoned them as they were cooking them. But what made it a 3-star experience that honestly was closer to two stars is that this time the sausage links were noticeably overcooked and the Belgian waffle wasn't crispy or warm. That was the first thing I took a bite of, and it was not crispy at all when I cut into it with my fork. I actually had to work to separate a piece from it to eat. My first experience made me want to return again soon. My second visit made me decide I will never be back. It's a shame. But if I'm going to spend money on a breakfast that is more costly than most, I want it to be worth it. And this latest visit was definitely not worth it. read more

This was my first visit to this upscale breakfast/brunch chain. The interior is modern in decor, bright and clean. The noise level is rather high from all the table talk. I order Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon ($15.29) and an order of Million Dollar Bacon ($5.99). The order was out quickly, beautifully plated. The Eggs Benedict came with an organic mixed greens salad with a lemon based dressing - flavor and fresh! The Eggs Benedict dish had several problems which really messed the whole thing up! While the poached eggs were perfectly cooked both the sliced tomato and the thin slices of salmon were refrigerator cold, quickly turning the eggs cold as well. I have never encountered this dish before were the salmon was stone cold - the flavor seems off as well but that might be the temperature. Quickly realized I am not a fan of cold poached eggs. In addition the ciabatta was barely toasted, if at all, further adding to a dish that grew colder and colder! The Million Dollar Bacon was quite tasty. It is well fried hardwood smoked and glazed with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne, and a maple syrup drizzle. The other decent aspect of this visit was that the service was very good. Otherwise this was pretty much a big time kitchen failure, and not an inexpensive one. My husband took me here this morning for Valentine's Day breakfast and it was my first time at a first watch. It was a good introduction! I gotcha the chickichanga which was well prepared, flavorful and a nice portion to start your day. We also got the million dollar bacon which was actually $5 bacon, it was a tasty addition, basically thick cut bacon drenched in syrup and sprinkled with black pepper, nothing not to like! My husband got the elevated egg sandwich which was nice looking and he gave me a bite, unfortunately my bite exploded the egg yolk all over me, and I mean ALL OVER, I was decimated and we had to go home after so I could change because my shirt and pants were so thoroughly destroyed with egg yolk. I've been to this location several times, and they've been great every time. The service is fast (dare say too fast) and friendly. The restaurant is overall clean and aesthetically pleasing, and they have an outdoor patio area to enjoy some coffee and pancakes al fresco on a warm day. The food is consistently delicious, and I've tried pancakes, avocado toast, huevos rancheros, and smoked salmon benedict. I had to wait 10 minutes before anyone waited on me and then to check on my order after receiving it it was missing some items I guess having to experience this once in the five or six times I've been there is not bad. I don't remember what I ordered. It was some kind of skillet with a couple of eggs on top. What I do remember is what my wife ordered and the one bite she shared with me. It was a featured, seasonal item called the New Yorker. It's basically their Elevated Egg Sandwich on an everything bun with a pile of shaved pastrami. Holy cow that sandwich was amazing. I kept hoping she would offer another bite... or be too full to eat the other half. But there she sat, egg yolk oozing down her fingers and pastrami juices on her chin, savoring every bite. We have this rule about not ordering the same thing when we go out to eat... but if this is still on the menu the next time we go, I'll be getting it for sure. read more

I am always up for trying new places to eat. So when my friend suggested First Watch for breakfast, I jumped at the chance. I ordered the breakfast verde burrito stuffed with everything lol. The food came out fairly quickly but you could tell It was freshly prepared. The burrito was MASSIVE. Even with my size, I could only manage 1/2 of it and boxed the rest for my wife to try at home. The burrito was delicious! Physical space 10/10 Service 10/10 FOOD 10/10 Now understand, breakfast was a bit pricey at $12 for this burrito but as an occasional treat, yum yum yum! There are cheaper options out there but I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for. I don't mind spending extra for quality food and service. I was so disappointed in our first visit. Upon arrival, we thought "dang this place is poppin', it must be good." Wrong. However, let me start with a positive.. their hostess is a hostess with the mostest. She was putting people on wait list, seating parties, checking guests out at the register, all with a smile (behind her mask). Wish I got her name. The sad part.. it took over an hour to get mine and my husbands food. I understand the world is understaffed, but I'm pregnant and when I'm hungry.. I'm HUNGRY. First time to this Clemmons location. Sat outside as it was a nice sunny day and felt good in the sun. Celebrating the best boss evers birthday. This was her lunch choice. Our server Melissa was stellar , always around, and super friendly. You order a coffee here and you get a whole bottomless pot ! I wasn't super hungry so I just got the vegetable soup and their whole grain toast, which I love . It's the best bread, totally worth the carbs if your restricted. Soup was full of chunky veggies , nice tomato broth. A generous serving too. Others got the veggie soup with the sweet honey pecan salad, which looked so colorful and delicious and according to my boss it was ! The half portion looked huge to me . Can't imagine a whole ! Also the eggs with toast and a mixed green salad, was a big hit , another fan of the toast. Unfortunately we had one person who just started a diet so had just eggs and whole grain toast, and left a piece of the toast to my horror! We had bought a cake for the birthday girl, and when Melissa saw it she commented on how it looked so good, so we gave her a big piece . She said whoever made this need to open a bakery ! Our server only brought us one pot of coffee, never came back to refill it so two of us shared it, and we were both charged the $3.99 each for the coffee. I was very excited to see a First Watch second location open in Clemmons, especially in the midst of current times. Since pausing my most favorite pastime of dining in for breakfast and brunch (due to my own COVID precautions), I am equally excited to discover First Watch Clemmons opens at 7am- hence plenty of opportunity to navigate in and out before busy times. My wait to finally dine in for breakfast was well worth it! The Works omelet was perfectly done and very satisfying. It came with a mixed green salad with a delightfully fresh, lemony vinagrette which has now debuted at the top of my list of favorite sides. If you are interested in dining for a cause, when you drink a cup of coffee you support the Mujures en Cafe (Women in Coffee) and their mission to grow the highest quality coffee, support their families and strengthen their communities in Huila, Columbia. Additionally, the ambience of the restaurant is very inviting. The placement of tables and obvious sanitizing practices maintain a very comfortable, safe feel. To top my visit off, my server Madison was delightful and very attentive. Finally, did I mention First Watch Clemmons has a very interesting brunch "wellness" cocktail list- with or without alcohol? We've enjoyed several different First Watch locations over the years and we went to the Clemmons location this morning for a breakfast. This is the second time we've eaten at this particular location in recent months. I thought our first experience there was a just a bad day, but I have to tell you it was not up to our expectations either time. Today my potatoes were far too brown or burnt, the greens in the salad were clearly old and yellowing, and the eggs were not hot when they came to the table. The best part of my meal was the toast. However, our server was excellent and we tipped her accordingly. Clemmons needs a good place for breakfast, and the other restaurants around set the bar really low. Given the competition, First Watch should be able to knock one out of the park. But, the execution in the kitchen have been nothing but foul balls. read more

First time at this location and while the service was a little slow, the food was just as good I remember from the other location I've been to. I got the egg white Bacado omelet with potatoes and toast. I also got a side of the mixed greens because it comes with a DELICIOUS lemon vinaigrette and I just couldn't pick between that and the potatoes (which are perfectly seasoned and have a great crisp but not dry!). I also love their toast because it's a whole grain artisan bread which is so flavorful and hearty. It comes with a jelly that tastes really fresh and not overly sweet! My husband got the carnitas burrito which is a seasonal item. It was HUGE! He loved it and was veryyy full afterwards (two thumbs up!). We also split the iced coffee which I'm not even a coffee fan but I love it from here, definitely sweet but not too sweet. I am just a well rounded First Watch fan, but this was something that was introduced to me by my sister, when she first took me to the Clemmons location. We decided to go back for a sisters brunch when I was in town and I really do enjoy this spot. The décor is super cute, all though the bathroom was not the cleanest, and they had my favorite oat milk creamer in tiny packets which I had never seen before. The food here is pretty on par with the other locations. I, as always, get the farmhouse skillet which is always made to perfection and super filling. The staff here were also very nice and helpful throughout our stay and did not mind if my sister stayed a chatted for awhile! read more
