First time eating at First Watch and it was on a Monday morning. It was busy but we were seated quickly and had a very attentive waitress. The service was great and the food was amazing. The restaurant was clean, ample seating with booths, table and bar area. The individual unisex bathrooms were clean and large enough for accessible entry and family usage. The food was excellent, ordered the Barbacoa breakfast tacos with breakfast potatoes which were amazing. This was some of the most tender, flavorful barbacoa I've eaten outside of Texas. The breakfast potatoes were seasoned perfectly and just awesome. And you can't go wrong with the Tri-Fecta, which is a pretty standard, satisfying breakfast plate which we chose pancake and extra crispy bacon with and additional side of bacon and scrambled eggs and everything was cooked to perfection..well done! We were excited to go to First Watch on March 31 around 1:00 PM at Friendly Center. We live nearby and this would be a regular for us. We were told the wait would be 10 minutes. After more than 20 minutes waiting outside, we went back in and were told we could be seated. The hostess confirmed our name, then immediately seated another couple who had just arrived. We then watched another party who came in after us get seated in better booths and served right away. We were placed in the worst seats right by the check-in area, while those tables were greeted, given menus, and served immediately. We hadn't even been acknowledged properly. The difference in how guests were handled was obvious and hard to ignore. Whether it was poor management or something else, it didn't feel right. We chose to leave and went to The Cheesecake Factory nearby, where the service was respectful and consistent from the start. This needs to be addressed. No one should be treated differently walking into a restaurant. read more

Went for bloodwork early morning, and felt the need to replenish myself, and went to First Watch. As it was quite early, we had our choice of seating, and we were promptly greeted by our server, who filled up a cup of much needed coffee. I do like the fact that they leave the coffee jug behind, so you can refill your own cup as needed. And the bottle of water was also appreciated. Overall ambiance is an upscale version of Cracker Barrel, it was airy, and spacious. Food was pretty good We splurged on avocado toast and the frittata. Frittata was a little well done, but still delicious. Ordered a side of sausage links, which probably my doctor wouldn't approve, but YOLO. At the last second,we ordered orange juice as well, and it was a nice way to round out the meal. Price wise, given quality, it was worth it -- though higher than one would expect for breakfast. But as I said, it's an upscale version of Cracker Barrel, so set your expectations regarding price appropriately. read more

The entrance to the restaurant is small so it's hard to wait inside for a table. However, they do allow you to wait in line online before you arrive. And they give out free coffee in the front when you arrive at the restaurant. Which is a wonderful touch! The menu is very unique. I've tried many items. Christina was my waitress and she was so friendly and patience. (This was my second time visiting First Watch, I couldn't decide what to order.) All of my food items were delicious with generous portions. I sat on the outside patio, the weather was beautiful and the outdoor seating area was comfortable and cozy. My rating is around 3.5 stars as the service and atmosphere is nice and the lighting is a bit bright for me. This was my first visit and upon being seated one of the coffee cups on the table was dirty. It was quickly taken care of and our server was very good. The coffee is just ok, tastes weak and reminded me of run of mill diner coffee . Large selections of dishes and I had the trifecta which was a meat, eggs and one large pancake. I upgraded to their signature million dollar bacon which is candied and also a little spicy, it was good . The eggs seemed to be an after thought as they were not hot. The large blueberry pancake was good, not too sweet but not super flavorful either. My partner had the steak chimi hash bowl which he rated excellent. read more

We've been to numerous First Watch locations over the years, including Phoenix, Virginia, and several here in the Triad, and this brand-new opening at Friendly Center is up there with the best. The location itself is fantastic, with a super cool ambiance and very nice décor inside. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent all around. The menu really delivers with a variety of options that can be as healthy or indulgent as you want, plus a great mix of drinks--whether you're in the mood for something fresh and wholesome or a cocktail with brunch. The wrap around patio is a huge plus, designed with both fans and heaters to make it comfortable year round. This is a wonderful new addition to the Friendly Center area for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. We'll definitely be back. read more

Super excited to finally have a First Watch on this side of town -- especially for healthy breakfast options after the gym! The food was great as always. However, it did take quite a while to come out, and our server seemed less attentive than others. Unfortunately, our water glasses and several sets of silverware were dirty, so we ended up using plasticware instead. The front entrance and bathroom were also not well-maintained -- there were sneaker prints on the floor, trash overflowing, and bits of tissue scattered around. I understand they're still new and working out the kinks, but cleanliness should always be a top priority. We'll give it another try in a few months and hope to see some improvements. read more

Went for my birthday and a girls brunch and really enjoyed it. Surprisingly had a bit of a wait mid-morning on a Monday but I guess still the holidays. I had scouted the menu ahead and knew I wanted the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were wonderful. Luckily I split them with someone because they were huge and rich. I added a side of eggs for a bit of protein and they were also quite good. I got the holiday mint mocha iced coffee and it was also delicious. Didn't really go with the lemon but they brought it out ahead so I had pretty much finished it, lol. I like the nice touches like the heated syrup in a clean bottle and your own coffee carafe and bottle of water on the table. I also loved the BOGO birthday coupon I got in my email last week for signing up when I went to check out the menu. We will definitely return. This go-round was a bit disappointing. I joined the waitlist since there was more than 5 of us. I received a text saying our table was ready and if we didn't check in then we would lose our spot, but they still had to clean tables off. We had to wait which defeated the purpose of joining the waitlist. When we were seated, our server came and got our drink orders. For the most part, they came out pretty fast. We were able to order, but when the orders came out, some were wrong. Some orders had been switched. One order had potatoes on it when the person asked for fruit. Another had avocado on their salad when the specifically asked to not put any up there. All of the silverware was disgusting and had things on them (not just water stains). It was disappointing, and that group doesn't want to go back. I'm sure I will return, just not any time soon. read more

Ambiance: 5/5 -I have will say the Friendly location is very cute on the inside. A little more modern than the Wendover location. Food: The food was decent. The chocolate chip pancakes were good. The turkey sausage however was very pale and didn't look like it was cooked for long. I also didn't like how the sausage didn't have its on separate plate it was just thrown on top of the pancake. The lemon ricotta pancakes were good. I prefer the banana almond but wanted tot ransoming new. The yellow cream tasted like lemon pudding. The inside had what I'm assuming to be a sweet ricotta mixture. The strawberries were fresher. & as always the million dollar bacon was amazing! A must every time I visit Service: I'm giving this review a 3/5 because of the service. When I originally arrived, my server was behind the table we sat at talking about how she doesn't have to talk to one of her co-workers if she doesn't want to. She also then had an attitude and was very short with us while servicing our table. Towards the end of our visit, she was nicer, asking if we needed anything & seemed as if whatever attitude she had was gone but that didn't make up for the service received earlier. First Watch at Friendly Center was a big disappointment. We had eaten at the Cary First Watch and loved it. Last Sunday morning the place was cold, the service was slow and my food was cold, the eggs over easy were not over easy, they were fried hard and they were cold inside and out. My wife enjoyed her meal, however. Perhaps the staff were not trained or were poorly trained. First Watch was only 1/3 full so they should have been fast with the food since the orders were simple. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews, given how eagerly people have been watching the build of this location. I've been here for weekday lunches twice in the past two weeks. Both times the service was fantastic - a hostess who is cordial and helpful in finding just the right seat, a server who could answer questions about menu items, and food that was promptly served and very tasty. My son had the Market Veggie sandwich and said it was one of the best sandwiches he's ever had! He travels across the US so that's saying a lot. I loved the simplicity and heartiness of the Rustic Frittata. Everything was delicious. Their menu gives a "mix and match" option for options of two: salad, soup, or sandwich from their menu. Great idea for lunch. The decor is upscale and trendy but it still exuded a warmth on a chilly rainy day. Definitely a great choice in the newer restaurants at Friendly Center. read more

Unfortunately, this location has so many issues. First, there is never enough staff. Second, no one knows what to do in entrance. People waiting to be seated, people waiting to pay -- everyone trying to figure out where to stand for each. Third, the staff is not well trained. The hostess was seating someone in front of us, but acknowledged we were next. By the time she got back to host station, new people had arrived. And she started taking them first. Looked right at us, smiled and seated others ahead of us. That's when we left -- and we'll never darken the door again. We were slow to be seated, slow to be waited on, and once we received our food, we never saw our server again. We sat for 20 minutes with no one checking on us. Very smooth ordering system from the website. The order confirmation provided an exact pick up time (13 minutes) and despite the restaurant being very busy, my order was ready in that time. When I got home, the order was correct. The surprise for me were the prices. At first glance they seem ok but the French toast, for example, does not come with any sides, it's just the 2 pieces of bread, so once you add a side or two it gets pricey. The chicken and avocado salad was amazing and the portion was a meal in itself. I got a carry out box for my roast beef and havarti sandwich. My sister ordered the avocado toast and eggs, which she really enjoyed. She also commented that the unsweetened tea was very good as well. This is a great location with in Friendly Shopping Center in the former Qdoba location. The interior is beautifully designed and the general atmosphere within the restaurant is very pleasant. Great food but insanely long waits. We checked in on the app while leaving church. It said 15-30 mins for seating. We have been waiting over 45 minutes and the app said we were 30th, then 15th, then 22nd then 16th then 9th then 6th then 10th to be seated. It's a joke. My husband and I went on a Thursday November 20/25. We stopped in for a first time experience in Greensboro at the Friendly location. The restaurant wasn't full and we expected fast service because of that reason . We were seated and the wait began. I finally had to bring it to the hostess's attention, that we had been waiting over twenty minutes for service. Finally after a few more minutes some young waitresses came over. We were afraid that if we just got drinks and didn't order our food ,it would be another twenty or thirty minutes. So graciously we placed drink and food order together. Sadly it was another thirty five minutes for just the drinks. When the food finally came another twenty minutes or so, it was over cooked!!!! When asked how was everything. I have eaten at a First Watch years ago in Texas and nothing about it stood out to me. When I saw a new location going in at The Friendly Center in Greensboro, NC I can't say I was all that excited. Yesterday when pondering where to go for Sunday brunch I noticed they offered the get in line option which is my love language so there was no doubt I was giving it another try. At arrival I checked in and got nervous about how long I would wait since many were also waiting. Within two minutes I was called and silly as it is that get in line option can make me feel like I've won the lottery. And then moments after being seated in a way I kind of did win as a manager approached to award me with a card for a complimentary meal for "being so patient to wait" I even tried to decline it knowing others were waiting longer but she insisted "they pay me to hands these out" she said. Well I'm certainly not going to be the one to make it appear she can't do her job. I ordered the Avocado Toast which was delicious and had the perfect mash to chunk ratio of avocado. The eggs did not come out runny as I asked for but our server Jordan had that replaced in no time. I appreciated Jordan for helping my guest with her over flowing hot chocolate. He was always available when we needed him and he gave happy vibes as if he loved his job which always makes for a better experience. Maybe First Watch has just updated their style in their dining room after all it was years ago I ate at one. The ambience of the one in Greensboro is bright and laid out well and I even appreciated the cozy seats they chose which I could actually hang my purse from, sometimes it is in the little things. Soup was good but a little bland. Salad was the star of my meal. Very good. My daughter ordered the honey caramel drink but was brought the mint chocolate instead. Service was slow. I was told a 15-20 minute wait, but it took over 30 minutes. I finally went inside to see if we were skipped. The hostess said she had already notified me via text. I was not.
