This location is in the building of an old Waffle House. So whits it's not very large, they've done a great job of reviving the place with very nice decor and seating. Very vibrant and bright. Parking is not the greatest situation but given where it is and the private lots around it, it's what it is. Our wait time was about 30ish minutes and they use the toast app to help you keep up with your wait. Our server was Jenny. Such a sweetie! Welcoming and very helpful. Continually checked on us and had multiple tables in addition to us. She was amazing! The menu is extensive and I wanted to try it all but couldn't, lol! Dear Dad's was popping!! My friend and I waited about 30 minutes for a table, but I considered it worthwhile. The service was quick and friendly! The inside of the restaurant is sooooo cute. Decided to try this place after trying out the downtown location. Heard a lot of good things about this place and it did not disappoint. First off its in a small location so be prepared to wait, but the wait is worth while. The place is super bright and clean with cute decor that makes the place lively and inviting. The service is out of this world. Drinks were served within minutes of being ordered, water is refilled routinely. Food came out within 10-15 minutes of order and is delicious. The side salad I ordered is larger than I expected as some restaurants will serve some really small side salad. It is also fresh so that is another plus. The burgers are amazing to say the least. I had been seeing this restaurant all over Tik Tok. I just happened to be in Greensboro so I decided to have breakfast there. There were a lot of people there already but we were able to secure a parking space. I am not sure what the wait would have been for a table but we were offered a seat at the bar right away. The inside of the restaurant is kind of small. The waitress was so nice. We ordered a variety of dishes....pancakes, eggs Benedict, a corned beef omelet, hash browns, and home fried potatoes. Everything was delicious. The omelet was so filling and flavorful. I could not finish it. The pancakes were so light and fluffy. The eggs Benedict was very fresh and tasty. Finally had the chance to stop in and it did not disappoint! Expect to wait quite a while on a busy day, today our wait was ~1.25 hours but well worth it! The inside was gorgeous and I loved the design of everything! Our server was fantastic and she was super attentive, even though she clearly had a lot going on! The food was FANTASTIC! I have seen a lot of positive reviews about this restaurant. We were looking to have brunch in Greensboro and decided to give it a try. It was busy, but the wait was not too bad. The restaurant is a formal waffle house so it is not very big on the inside. We were seated at a booth and the inside of the restaurant is very cute. Our waitress was really nice and gave great recommendations. I tried the Red Velvet waffle with chicken tenders. The portion was huge and very good as well as the waffle. I also enjoyed my pistachio latte. My son had the chocolate cake which was fudgy and very tasty. The manager came by to check on us and I thought that was nice. Overall, a great service of food. Arrived around 9 am on a Friday and the restaurant was busy. There were about 2 or 3 booths available when I arrived but they were soon filled as well. I love everything about how the staff welcomed my sister and I. We were checked on often and didn't have to flag anyone down for any refills. Bathrooms checked out as well. They are single stalls but there is a bench for you to sit and wait if needed. I'm late to the party dining here but the reviews do hold true. The food was tasty and portions were filling. I needed a carry out plate and so did my sister. She was happy with all of her food selections. Even the table next to us vocalized food envy for her chicken and waffles entree. I ordered the breakfast club sandwich with hash browns. I grabbed the ketchup but once I took a bite, the hash browns were all I needed on my fork. No extras. I came to this place the other day for a work meeting with my manager. The restaurant is always super busy but we got there at a good time (2p.m.)where we didn't have to wait for our table. I was able to meet the owner of the restaurant and he was super nice! We had a really nice server who was very attentive. We asked her for some recommendations from the lunch/dinner menu and she recommended anything that has the birria in it. I ended up ordering the birria burrito and I also tried their iced vanilla latte. The latte was delicious it came in a cute glass cup with some whipped cream and caramel drizzled on top. Our food was out quickly as well. My burrito came with a side of fries that were delicious and well seasoned. My burrito was stuffed with birria, rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo.It also came with a green salsa that was not spicy and I could tolerate it. It was very good, the burrito didn't feel like too overwhelming for me, although I did get full quickly and had to ask for a to go box. We had a short ~10 minute wait on a busy Sunday morning, and while waiting, were greeted by staff offering us coffee/juices on the house. The Americano was really good. But even better, the Spanish omelette was to die for!!! Never had anything like it. Initially was going to build my own but I decided to go with their combo - no regrets. Needed to balance the sweet with the savory, and the Nutella french toast was so yummy, not overly sweet and the vanilla ice cream on top was the perfect addition. I recently checked out Dear Dad and I can definitely see why people are talking about it. They're known for their American and Mexican inspired comfort food, and it did not disappoint. I started off with an iced caramel coffee, and even while we were waiting, they brought our drinks out to us, which was such a nice touch and honestly set the tone right away. They didn't have to do that, but it definitely made the experience feel more welcoming. Once we sat down, we got right into the food, chilaquiles verdes, waffles with strawberries, and huevos rancheros. Everything was flavorful and hit the spot. The place was packed, so I was honestly surprised at how quickly our food came out, but it was absolutely worth it. Service was great all around. I've had the opportunity to go to Dear Dad's on 5 occasions, only getting to get seated and eat on two of those because of wait times being crazy long! The first time I visited was with my toddler and a friend back when they had their outside dining which was great! The second time visiting was a couple weeks ago with my 3 year old (we had a 20 minute wait). While we waited outside, a server brought complimentary orange juices to the guests waiting which was a great gesture. Once we were inside, our food came pretty quickly! My son ordered the waffles, and I got biscuits with gravy and eggs. On my previous visit I got the Mashed Bowl which was like a big southern hug to the tastebuds! I also got a Moroccan mint tea (which is listed for $3 on the menu). The decor was cute and while things were busy, we didn't feel rushed. Once we finished, I tried to get the check and leave quickly because I knew people were still waiting outside. I noted on my receipt that the tea was upcharged to $4 even though the menu said $3 and figured that was a pretty sneaky way to recoup the "complimentary" orange juice, but the rest of the meal and experience was good and I'm not the type to complain to a server. I will be on the lookout for that in the future if my husband and I ever get a chance to have breakfast there together! Another wonderful time at Dear Dads! Busy as always so be prepared to wait at any time in the day. Got Fernando's Plate this time around, which comes with a waffle, choice of two meats, eggs, a side, and choice of bread. A loaded meal for sure. I opted for sausage and corned beef hash, sausage gravy for the side, and biscuit. The waffle was perfect, nice and crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. When working in this area this is my go to place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Literally everything is delicious. Red velvet waffles, chicken and waffles, club sandwich. The burrito Yum. Just really good. They also offer incredible desserts. Cheesecake is a favorite, although not made there they are locally sourced. With walking distance to where I work so very convenient. Dear Dad's is always a home run. The other day my boyfriend mentioned that he wanted French toast but of course it was 7 PM lol he asked if I knew of anywhere that would serve French toast at that time of night and I checked dear dad's website and sure enough they had not one, but I think three or even five options. I was able to make reservations for 45 minutes from the time I looked on the website which was a great thing because dear Dad's is always busy. I at first thought I was going to also get French toast, but then I saw Chile Keys on the menu. I couldn't decide between red or Verde salsa, but I know for the future the Red is certainly the way to go. The servers are genuinely so helpful. They do their best to get everybody in and out quickly. The only thing that in my opinion was a little weird on the night that we went was the "live music.." honestly not just us but the surrounding tables all discussed if it was karaoke or if the singers were really that bad. Not sure if you can tell by the videos, but it was quite the experience. I don't know what they marinated it in--holy water? Jesus tears? Grandma's secret prayers?? Because GOOD LORD. I almost stood up and testified. This is definitely going on my list of Greensboro Favorites. We came for a Saturday brunch and our first visit was simply awesome. First things first, parking is a little tight. We were lucky in finding a spot pretty easily. But come prepared to be patient. Inside is also a little tight, but they made it work pretty nicely. The hostess stand is immediate inside the door. They offer several two-person and four-person tables inside as well as a few four-person tables outside. For larger groups, they got a little creative. They have used an outdoor shelter to offer 6-person patio tables in a grassy area on the other side of the parking lot. It was perfect for us. The manager mentioned plans of renovating that space in the near future. Now to the important stuff. The food was AWESOME! I started with a hot Brown Sugar Latte. Both the presentation and the taste were great. Our waitress recommended the Biscoff Latte, which my hubby tried, and she was right; it's a winner. For my meal, I went with the Chef's Special. I highly recommend it. It's a Red Velvet Waffle with Hand-breaded Chicken Strips. It also comes with a side. It may not look like much, but it was very filling. They don't have a Kid's Menu but my toddlers split the Classic Plate and it was perfect for them. Everything came out fresh and at the perfect temperature. This was my second visit and got lucky on a Thursday night finding space at Dear Dads. This is a tight little diner that serves awesome food. I'd had the Cajun Pasta before and really loved it. This trip I stuck with the Louisiana theme and went with the jambalaya. Great choice! The combination of chicken, sausage, and meaty shrimp combined with the spicy rice made this a wonderful meal. My wife and I have been here a couple times and my wife at least one more time. We've had a great experience each time. My wife sat at the counter with our daughter, and said that was a lot of fun. My wife and I were there yesterday and I got I half dozen chicken wings and she got a fried shrimp wrap with a side of sautéed spinach. All the food was really good, the wings are roasted in the oven, not fried, so they were more tender than I expected. Which was good. The buffalo sauce was good and came with whatever dressing I wanted, of course I picked blue cheese. Our server, Dianna was very sweet, and very polite and proper. She was very kind and apologetic if things were taking a while, I overheard her speak to the other tables she was serving. And she kept our drinks refilled efficiently. We also got the bread pudding for dessert which was good also, but my wife who is somewhat of a dessert connoisseur, felt it should've been a thicker slice of bread. Money is not an issue but for the price compared to other places. 3,4 dollars more I frequent. I EXPECT a faaaar better "syrup". They served Ms Buttersworth which is absolutely DISGUSTING! The bootle is a refillable bottle I didn't know what it was while pouring it over the French toast. Took a bite & immediately I knew it was not "maple syrup" but rather high fructose corn syrup marketed as syrup. I only knew it was Ms. Buttersworth because I asked the waitress what is this yuck in a bottle lollshe. The turkey sausage presented really nice visually, but the taste, something just was odd about it. Couldn't put my finger on it. If one thing for sure something in it needs to be eliminated. Such a cool local spot with great service and cute decor. My food was better than I expected given the menu has such a variety and I couldn't really tell what their specialty was. I guess everything is their specialty. We had a reservation so there was no problem with seating but I could imagine them typically having a long wait since it is so small. I had the bourbon shrimp and chicken which was cooked perfectly. Also the mashed potatoes and gravy looked like they were out of a tv dinner but complimented the flavors of the protein very well. Like majority of us I found this restaurant on TikTok . Though nervous I was pleasantly surprised. All staff not just our server were attentive and contributed to the overall experience. Being that the restaurant is so small we were really happy to be sat right away without waiting . The Strawberries and Crème french toast was my favorite . The crème definitely sets its apart from any other local restaurant with strawberry french toast . I would've loved a little more "cajun" in the Cajun chicken pasta but that may just be an overall personal preference. I've been to Dear Dads twice and both times had good experiences. Each visit did come with a 30-60 minute wait, but the location is clean and the staff are very attentive. Their Biscoff latte is amazing, such a treat! The menu also includes a few Mexican-style breakfast favorites like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. The breakfast burrito was a nice in between option if you're not in the mood for something too big or too small. I also tried the skillet with potatoes, bell peppers, smoked sausage, and sourdough bread, which was very tasty, though I felt the balance was a little off. I only got like three pieces of sausage compared to a lot of potatoes. Prices are reasonable too! The main reason I can't give five stars is the parking situation. It took me 25-30 minutes to find a spot without risking parking in a nearby lot and getting towed. The lot is very tight, and twice on one occasion I even saw people nearly fight over a space. While I know that's not fully under Dear Dads' control, it might help if they had a parking attendant during peak times, or at least a cone to indicate when the lot is full (and remove it once spaces open up). read more

After waiting a long time for a parking spot we were finally able to join our friends who already had a table outside. Although they cannot control the parking situation it can be rough to say the least. I then ordered some fried pickles and a Spanish Latte. Both were absolutely delicious and I loved the sauce for the pickles! For my main I ordered the Birria bowl. It was okay but I thought "Birria" tasted more like pulled beef and didn't have much flavor. For dessert we had to get the beignets. As they are so good! As ambience goes, Dear Dad's is a nice appealing restaurant. It is billed as a diner, and it has that diner feel. Very light and airy decor. It is inviting. The four of us tried very different menu items. I had the jambalaya, my wife had the sweet chili chicken and shrimp, our friends had the seafood duo, and the bourbon chicken and shrimp. The first thing I have to say is that what I ordered was not a jambalaya. It had cheese on top (jambalaya does not come with cheese on top) and the sauce was more akin to an Italian red sauce than it was a Cajun jambalaya. the couple who joined us are from Louisiana and immediately said "that is not a jambalaya". There was not much spice at all. It was tasty in its own way, but it was not what the name Indicated. Also the rice was minimal and it needed to have more to be a true jambalaya. I can really sum up the other meals by saying that on the positive side, the food is fresh, the flavors are good, but there was nothing that stood out. The shrimp was similar to what you would find in most other restaurants. The chicken had good flavor but once again there was nothing extraordinary about it. The same can be said for the sides. Put simply none of the food wowed us and we are not that hard to wow. There was nothing we had that we didn't feel we could find at a number of other restaurants in town. We had hoped for a lot more. Since Dear Dad's bills itself primarily as a breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant, perhaps we need to come back and try the breakfast fair. As for the dinner, the food had good flavor, but there was nothing special about it. It just did not match the hype. One minor thing to mention. They have a number of tables for two and then they have some very large comfortable looking booths that can seat 4 to 6 people. We walked in the door along with a party of two. The party of two was seated at the final big available booth, leaving us to deal with two small tables pushed together for the four of us. Everything was everything! The customer service that met us in the parking lot after witnessing a very rude encounter from another customer. The (what seemed to be) managers/owners were extremely friendly along with every staff member we interacted with. Food is pictured. Nothing negative to say about any of it. (Well just that the beignets could've had more powdered sugar but they were delicious!!) The meat on the sandwiches were both seasoned very well. Kids chicken tenders are some of the best I've ever tasted!! Next time we're trying the breakfast! read more
