They are truly something to behold and you can have them topped with a variety of toppings. I know it might seem strange to some, but I have never had the waffles at Waffle House as I prefer more savory breakfast. If waffles are your thing, I would recommend trying them. I think whatever you choose at Waffle House, you will be happy. This is not fine dining oh, it is the epitome of a greasy spoon. Sometimes we need greasy spoons in our lives.

But I do drop by Clutch sometimes for coffee drinks, usually of the iced or frozen variety. They're pretty good, though if you pick any of the flavored stuff you should be prepared for the sugar rush that will set in thereafter. I often avoid the flavor additions for this very reason. On occasion they'll even slip in a few shots of espresso on the house, which makes for a nice boost if you're into that sort of thing. The young folks working here are always polite and quick, and they've never gotten one of my orders wrong. Their location isn't hard to find, but there isn't much room to navigate from their order window back through the driveway they share with a neighboring business and then onto Lewisville-Clemmons. The site layout simply isn't great, so be prepared to contend with that.

The culinary fare presented itself in a manner befitting of high-quality, with my order consisting of a Trifecta, substituting French toast in lieu of the typical waffle or pancake. Regrettably, I was informed by the waitstaff that the provision of French toast would amount to only one solitary slice. Upon requesting an additional serving, I was apprised that such would result in a supplementary expenditure of 6.00 (to be precise, 5.69). Ultimately, I was served two moderately-sized slices of French toast, accompanied by two diminutive pieces of bacon and a rather scant quantity of scrambled eggs, despite the menu specifying a quantity of two eggs. One may presume the utilization of particularly petite ovum in the kitchen. To the credit of the waitress, she conveyed a sense of remorse and did, in fact, manage to procure a surplus of scrambled eggs, for which I was grateful. Nevertheless, the prices here are, in a word, preposterous - especially considering the conspicuous absence of any beverages, the total cost amounting to in excess of 20.00 for breakfast within a strip mall - an inadequate value proposition, to say the least. My future breakfast endeavors shall direct me towards Breakfasttime Anytime, situated down the thoroughfare - although wait times may be more pronounced, the commensurate quality of service, hygienic ambiance and ample serving sizes render such a caveat negligible. Evidently, the waitstaff at First Watch displayed professionalism and cordiality, yet the establishment itself garners a subpar rating, corresponding to a C- within my esteemed appraisal. read more

This is largely a selection of breakfast and brunch items with Mexican influences, and I decided to pick the eggs Benedict with smashed avocado. Additional drinks did eventually arrive though, and the food came not long after. Even with the accompanying side of baked apples, the plate seemed scant in its content. And the flavors were pretty bland too, leading me to wish I'd picked something with more to offer, in addition to a dish with more substance. [That said, the omelets I saw on the plates of a neighboring table didn't seem all that large or visually impressive either.] The food didn't taste bad, mind you. I just didn't get enough in amount, in value or in quality to leave me genuinely impressed. Like the decor, the meal felt like it was a half-empty shell, with plenty of room for more. So maybe I'll go back another time and see if some other selection from the menu has more to offer. Otherwise, Eggies feels outclassed by most any other breakfast-focused dining option in the area. If I want simplicity on a plate, I can find it at a wealth of other restaurants with morning hours, and I can probably get more for my money there. And until I find something genuinely special about what's coming from the kitchen here, I don't see my attention or interest being captured by the relatively pedestrian experience I've had here so far.
