We've enjoyed several different First Watch locations over the years and we went to the Clemmons location this morning for a breakfast. This is the second time we've eaten at this particular location in recent months. I thought our first experience there was a just a bad day, but I have to tell you it was not up to our expectations either time. Today my potatoes were far too brown or burnt, the greens in the salad were clearly old and yellowing, and the eggs were not hot when they came to the table. The best part of my meal was the toast. However, our server was excellent and we tipped her accordingly. Clemmons needs a good place for breakfast, and the other restaurants around set the bar really low. Given the competition, First Watch should be able to knock one out of the park. But, the execution in the kitchen have been nothing but foul balls. read more

First Watch was NEEDED SO BADLY in Clemmons and I'm glad it's here! The perfect brunch spot with friendly staff, super clean, and delicious food and drinks. I actually went to First Watch twice in one week lol-- once with family and once with friends. The first visit I had an omelette with greens salad and toast. It was all delicious, especially the greens salad, which was seasoned with lemon juice and so fresh! On my next visit I tried the seasonal pumpkin pancake and it was absolutely amazing!! I also tried one of their seasonal cocktails which was a mix of rumchata and cold brew garnished with a cinnamon stick. Food is great. Nice servers, comfortable atmosphere Only one "gripe": They use plastic straws when this could be substituted with paper straws. I was trained as a chemist. The plastic straws NEVER DECOMPOSE and find their way back into our food as microplastics that never leave our bloodstream. The difference in price is about 25 cents/straw. (Add 35 cents/ beverage to cover the cost of straw and we will all be a "little" bit healthier) I believe that this establishment tries to offer healthy food. How about a healthy environment? Although the restaurant decor is appealing and the menu was very interesting and had many items that my wife and I wanted to try, we decided to go for a classic breakfast item called Trifecta on their menu for our first visit to this chain. The restaurant was very busy this Saturday morning and a 30 minute wait was required to get a table, which was not bad since we could walk around outside since the staff just texts you when your table is ready. Unfortunately, it took another 30 minutes from the time we received our table and sat down to the time that we received our food. We did not receive the syrup for our pancakes when the food was delivered which delayed our first bite of pancake by over 5 minutes. Once the food was tasted, it was apparent that one meal was served with a burnt pancake (the meal consisted of 2 scrambled eggs, 2 link sausages, and one pancake) and the other meal seemed to have dried out scrambled eggs, so almost an entire meal between the two Trifecta's was not very good. Our server said he would get the pancake deducted from our meal since it was obviously burnt, but that did not occur, so we mentioned it to the cashier after she asked how our meal was, and she was able to get the charge removed after speaking with a supervisor. Since other customers around us had food that was visually very appealing, and they seemed to be enjoying their meals, and in the end we were not charged for the bad meal, my wife and I agreed to give the restaurant another chance in the future. read more

So me and my girlfriend was going here for our breakfast date and everything was good up until we decided to give each other a piece of our waffle and pancake but when I got her piece there was a long blonde hair inside her pancake and we was both filled with disgust and even after all that nobody apologized and then they said they was going to take it off but didn't and instead took 2 dollars off both our meals and gave me a coupon, I'm disappointed first watch so that's why I'm giving yall a 1 star ! read more

I will NOT be going back. I was a frequent customer until today. It took 3, Three tries to get my order correct. No apologies from management. No offer to adjust my bill. The wait staff was friendly and professional. The food was ok but not for the price. "Classic" Eggs Benedicts are not classic. Served on a toasted ciabatta roll and smoked ham. But they were good. The lemon dressed vinaigrette greens are a nice touch. The roasted potatoes were dried out and served with a lot of blackened ones mixed in. We had breakfast late. What a refreshing breakfast spot. The wait was minimal and the setting was pleasant. First thing up was a pot of coffee - not a cup. We were able to order PDQ and get to business. Yes, they were very tolerant of a breakfast meeting at their location. We were able to talk business and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast. Even though there's a First Watch where I live, I hadn't eaten there yet. We were in town visiting friends who recommended we try it today, and not only was it delicious, but our waitress Mallary was one of the best I've ever had. The entire staff was wearing masks and the tables were far enough apart that nothing felt cramped or close. Mallary was super attentive, answered all of our questions, and was so sweet and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at First Watch today. The roast beef and havarti sandwich was excellent, tender, with a crunchy cheese bread. The sweet pecan salad with crunchy bacon was fantastic. I've noticed this place for years. Finally today I decided to give them a try. Had the impression this was a fru fru place. I ordered the steak and egg burrito. It came out looking like a work of art; very nouveau, very trendy, but so-so tasting. Really should've been call bean and potato burrito as I tasted more of those with scant egg or steak. There was nothing included with the burrito, no toast, just a burrito sitting on a plate alone. I felt lonely and it looked lonely. The tab came to $19, with $3.85 for plain coffee alone!!! To their credit, they did have flavored creamer and fancy sugar, but wow, $20 for 1 burrito and 1 cup of coffee. I will give just about any place 1 try. I will not be back. I'm a "no frills" kinda guy. If u have friends or family coming to town and u wanna impress them with a high folutin place for brunch; maybe but never again. The waitress placed the bill on the table next to me. I felt a pang of nausea every time I looked at that $3.85 for coffee. Ouch, that really hurt! Absolutely phenomenal! Can't wait to eat my way through the whole menu! Everyone in our party greatly enjoyed their meal (especially recommend the French Toast and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes). Nice surprise! We stumbled onto this place exploring what Clemmons had to offer. Walking in I thought immediately that it was another Panera, but was pleasantly surprised that it was not. The menu was not what I expected as I was looking for possibly a greasy breakfast to help recover from the previous nights 'activities' that involved celebrating a big birthday. I ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich with fruit instead of the seasoned potatoes. The sandwich blew my mind! It was absolutely delicious! Our server, Theresa was AMAZING! She was genuinely friendly, attentive and fun! When she found out we had never been there before she provided samples of the tasty veggie/fruit juices they make fresh in-house. She sold me on the kale one which I ordered one to go after my meal. Everyone was friendly, the restaurant was clean, bright and inviting and our food was delivered quickly! We went to first watch because we were already in the shopping center. We decided to give it a try because we had never eaten there before. I walked in and looked around at the clientele and looked at the menu and thought this place is not for me. The menu had some very artisan choices on it. I ordered a sweet honey pecan salad and my fiancé got a salad and half of a sandwich combo. The service was superb but I was not impressed with the food. I would try it again but I paid $12 for a salad that was lacking in taste and my fiancé's food not not much better. I personally will not eat here again as this restaurant is not for me. The service was atrocious. We had to ask for straws twice, there was parsley on two plates of French toast, there was chocolate on the one plate of bacon, that we received. We had ordered a second side of bacon and did not receive it. In addition we ordered donut holes which were on our ticket, but did not receive, until I complained. At that point they were taken off the bill and we where handed a box of BURNT donut holes. We will never return or recommend this place, which is unfortunate, as this was previously a family favorite location. read more
