So a friend and I stopped here on our road trip from the Raleigh/Durham area to the Mountains, I was intrigued when my friend shared how diverse the menu was(I was a first timer! The restaurant was extremely busy but it was very well kept! I was so impressed at how clean it was! I will say that that there was slim to no organization and/or initiative from the employees who were taking the food orders and you could not hear the person calling well the order was ready for pick up. I came to pick up some of the seasonal soup, Dairi-o just added back to their menu. I had some last week at their Asheboro location, and I loved it. 12 ounces for $5.99. It is much more a stew than a soup, thick a bit mild, but very flavorful. It consists of ground beef, black beans, pinto beans, chopped white onion, chili powder, herbs and spices, and a touch of garlic. I added shredded cheese, and I thought it added a lot. In fact, next time, and that will be soon, I will ask for the cheese to be double - a single serving was 50 cents. I also added a packet of Texas Pete at various times as I ate the chili, nice heat level. You get saltines and sour cream, all comes together well. I recommend this dish, come and enjoy. read more

We visited a few years ago for dessert, and weren't impressed. Decided to try dinner tonight, because they are truly always busy. The chic fil a of burger joints, mentioned below, is a great comparison. My biggest EH is how absolutely horrible the customer service was. From the guy at the drive thru, the to the guy who practically threw our food in our car, when it was finally ready. Seems like it must not be a great place to work with attitudes like that. On a positive - the hot dogs are so good. I got chili, slaw and mustard. I would definitely get that again, as well as the onion rings. Updating my review since we continue to rave about Dairi-O. Especially the ice cream, but we also enjoy the chicken, burgers, hotdogs, and salads. We always make a point to stop here when traveling through the area. Typically I opt for the apple crisp salad with fried chicken, fries, and ice cream. Even when busy, they maintain an efficient workflow with great customer service. Only issue is that they continue to put cheese on the salad no matter how many times I ask for no cheese. Since the salads are likely prepped in advance, I suggest a separate package/section for the cheese. Nonetheless, the salads here are large, crisp, and tasty. Fast friendly service. The best hot dogs I've come across since moving to NC. Whenever I go to the Winston Salem area I stop at a Dari-O.

First time going to this location, but I've been to this restaurant several times before. I am always impressed at how busy this place is no matter what time of day you're here. The service is great as always. The drive-through line is long, but seems to move fairly quick. On this visit, I opted to try the all beef foot-long 1/3 pound hotdog combo with onion rings. YOUNG and rings were amazing and made fresh to order taste it just like homemade. Hotdog is always was amazing this time I got it fully dressed, which comes with mustard, onion chili and slaw. My wife got the two dog combo with french fries along with mustard and onion on the hotdogs. I have yet to try the dessert menu of Sundae's and shakes as I am never still hungry after I eat the meal, but one day we'll have to try it. They look amazing. Definitely recommend that only this restaurant at this location as I will be coming back in the future. read more

Visited today and had a delicious, filling meal with the family after a visit to Tanglewood Park. The cashier, Gail, was very kind and made us feel welcome. Our order was accurate and hot! The restaurant was clean and love the music choice of Christian music as well. My husband and I got double cheeseburgers with seasoned fries and they were delicious as always as we expect from Dairo. My one daughter got a junior hotdog meal and my other got a junior hamburger meal. They definitely could have shared as the portions are very large! To finish it off, you can't go to Dario without ice cream, I got a soft served dipped cone, my one daughter got a milkshake and the other got swirl soft serve. Dairi-O is a local favorite! Food is always fresh and hot and I have yet to find something I don't like on the menu. Their burgers and hotdogs are amazing and they have several topping options to choose from. Chili is great quality as well. I often time get the chicken strips-they're white breast chicken and not full of fillers like what you'd imagine at a fast food restaurant. The homemade ranch is also a showstopper. I've been to Dairi-O a few times, and this location most of the time, and I've never been dissatisfied. But the food tonight was especially good to me. I tried the banana pudding ice cream for the first time and it was SO good, I almost got another. I enjoyed my meal inside tonight too, which I normally don't, but the restaurant is quite spacious and they have a variety of seating arrangements to accommodate multiple group sizes. We stopped here on a road trip on Memorial Day with our teenage son and his girlfriend. First of all, the signage from the interstate to Dair-o was fabulous. There was a sign at every turn telling you which way to go. We were amazed that the parking lot was packed when we arrived as it was well after 1 pm. The place gave off a very Chick-fil-a vibe -- spacious, clean, great service and a red and white motif. It was a hard decision whether to go with ice cream or a meal. I've had their soft serve before which was fabulous but decided to go with their chicken souvlaki combo which sweet potato fries. The souvlaki had plenty of peppers and onions with a better flavor than I expected. Tatziki was good and I loved the waffle sweet potato fries. Husband enjoyed his burger and son liked his chicken tenders. We first heard about this place from our vegetarian daughter -- great that they have vegetarian options. DairiO usually never disappoints. Ate there yesterday and the food was great. Today went back since I was back in town and ask for a footlong and the guy working outside said they no longer had footlongs. Ok so I ordered the regular like yesterday. The slaw and chili wasn't as good today. Only Chief complaint I have is they never give salt and pepper, ketchup or napkins when you go through the drive though. This was my first experience eating from here. The tables were cleaned. As it was my first time here it took me a little while looking at the menu. I ordered a Tomato Basil soup and to go along with I also got a grilled cheese sandwich. The soups was really good and it stayed hot till the end. Also the portion of the soup was really good for the price. I was a tad disappointed with the grilled cheese. As you can see the cheese was barely melted. The bread was nice though. If you're gonna go to a chain restaurant to get a hot dog, then Dairi-O should be your first choice. The frankfurters are of a good quality, and they're cooked without being turned into dried limbs; they still have snap, moisture, and flavor. The hot dog buns used here are delicious and fresh, with a split top design that does a far better job of carrying condiments and toppings than the traditional side-open bun. The slaw is probably a little sweeter than I'd prefer (kinda wish they would offer red slaw, but this is no barbecue joint), but in all other respects the makings of an all-the-way dog (chili, onions, mustard and slaw) are tasty and well proportioned. And thanks to a proper bun, they stay on the hot dog rather than ending up down your arm, on the tray, in your lap, or on the floor. The Clemmons location of Dairi-O is rarely slow for business. Even then, the staff does a good job of turning out orders quickly and accurately. The restaurant has a lot of space inside, with various indoor and outdoor seating options. It's a rather loud location though, which I'm sure is due in part to the large crowds, the concrete floors, and the glass and metal used throughout. It pains me a bit to pay ten bucks for a two dog combo, but to be honest such lofty prices seem to be the way of the world now, so while I wouldn't call eating here a great deal it's not out of line compared to other fast food options. read more

We love what we get, but there's been errors which is just disappointing (I totally get that they are over staffed now, but just wish they would do a better job checking what they put in the bag matches the order). I got the chicken souvlaki and I added lettuce and I love this dish! Great portion of chicken and love their tzatziki sauce! We also split the blue cheese wedge salad which I really enjoy, the balsamic and blue cheese dressing together is great. My husbands order is where the mess ups were. He ordered a cheese burger, but it was missing mustard and pickles and instead of grilled onions it was regular. Not that huge of a problem and luckily we had mustard and pickles at home. My husband also ordered the 5 piece spicy chicken wings, but we ended up with 4 regular chicken wings. Normally these little things wouldn't bother me too much but it hasn't been the first time. First thing first Dario is a fast food restaurant, and looking at it through that lens it is excellent. I have been eating a Dario for many years and have yet to be disappointed. They have a very solid burger and hot dogs with plenty of options for toppings. They have standard crinkle cut fries but they season them very well. Compared to other fast food restaurants the quality to price ratio easily eclipses any other fast food restaurant. They also have an excellent selection of ice cream and milkshakes. My personal favorite is the butterfinger flurry, which is essentially a McFlurry from McDonald but much better. The line for the drive through can get quite long but they have an efficient system and generally are able to get your food out quickly even if the line is wrapped around the building like it frequently is. Don't over think it, if you are in the mood for a fast food burger, skip the Golden Arches and give Dario a try. read more

It might be semi-unusual to rate a fast-food or fast casual place five stars, but in my opinion, if your expectations are exceeded and the business is doing very well in excelling in their target cuisine. Give it five! I've been to Dairi-O several times at this Clemmons locations, and think it is time to give them the rating they deserve. Each time I've gone in, not only have I received great food, but quality service, and a quick turnaround on my order. Even when the place is hoppin' at lunch time, they keep the line moving and the restaurant clean. They are always well-staffed, similar to what you would expect at a Chick-Fil-A, in this category of food. The items they hand their hat on are burgers and hot dogs. Both of which have been excellent on my visits. The hot dogs always come well loaded with toppings. I like mine the traditional southern "all the way" style, and each ingredient is very complimentary of a well cooked frank. The thing that sets their dogs over the top is the inclusion of a grilled and buttered potato roll instead of a cheaper alternative. Anything you can do to kick that quality up a notch, I appreciate. The burgers are the real star though. They are the flat-top grill variety, and this place knows how to cook them. I go for the double, instead of the one larger patty, because then you end up with two patties containing those brown crispy seasoned edges... literal meat candy. It pairs perfectly with the cheese and any toppings you like on it. Superior seasoning and taste. Orders of fries always include a generous helping, and I've not seen any inconsistency. Always hot and crispy with just the right amount of seasoning salt for my taste buds. On a side note, I love they have the air fired ketchup dispenser instead of a pump... there is something satisfying about how it makes the perfect looking ketchup cup. Ontop of all this, none of it is expensive! I would hold their burger up in comparison to what I get at Five Guys, and quickly point out that it cost me so much less. Since it national hotdog day lol.. I decided to get a hotdog.. the hotdog was delicious especially the bun. I don't know if it was Hawaiian bread , but it was a great addition to the hotdog.
