Well I can say one thing. If you want Brunswick Stew this is best place to get it. Pork sandwiches are quite good too! They don't do beef brisket anymore. That's a shame. Quaint little restaurant with inside and outside seating. Service was quick and friendly. I had the chopped plate and you really can't go wrong there - it came with two sides and hush puppies or rolls. Delicious meal!! They do have daily specials and serve a minimal selection of beer. Parking is ample. Definitely recommend this location. read more

Talk about an experience! This was my first time here and I felt like I walked into another world! The decor in this restaurant was very unique and I enjoyed that I created an enjoyable dining experience. I took my food to go but the servers were very helpful in helping me find something I'd enjoy from the menu. I had the BBQ chicken plate with beans and mac and cheese. It was very tasty and I even tried some more BBQ sauce with it. The banana pudding was smooth and creamy but not too heavy- will definitely be having that again! I really enjoyed the large side of hush puppies that came with my order and I can't wait to come back and try some more food! read more

While I still don't think much of the other Little Richard's locations in our area, the Clemmons version has actually grown on me. While I still don't think it competes admirably with other barbecue you'll find in this state, in the last few visits I've become more impressed by what they are dishing out here. My most common order has become the chopped pork plate, accompanied by barbecue slaw, green beans, and hushpuppies. The meat seems a bit more flavorful than in my earliest visits here, and it's definitely not dried out as much as what I'd gotten before. Maybe my previous review was just on an off-day. And you certainly don't run out of hushpuppies with that order, as almost half the tray will be packed with fried balls of dough. If you like hushpuppies, LR is your source of nirvana. I'm most often here during evening hours, and so I've come to recognize a number of faces among the wait staff. While their diligence in attending to customers isn't always perfect (they let me run out of drink during my most recent visit), they are pleasant and the wait for food is never too long. While my preferences for barbecue in Winston-Salem still gravitate towards the Country Club Road area -- Real Q for wood-smoked pork, Honkytonk Smokehouse for other smoked meats -- I'm glad I was willing to give this hilltop spot in Clemmons another chance. read more

They're perfectly smoked for tons of flavor with a crispy bite into a juicy wing. Other notables...that Korean sauce! I always order it on the side. The crinkle fries are good. Arrived at 2:00 on a Wednesday. Was curious to see if the food we were served would be fresh? After the lunch rush but before the dinner crowd. Had the wings, hot dog (ATW) chopped pork tray. Little Richards is always reliably amazing and affordable. We come here and eat like kings and bring home leftovers for at least one more meal for the whole family. Our move is to get the three meat combo, go double the ribs with brisket and add a smoked wing meal on the side. You wind up with four sides, a mountain of delicious hush puppies and so many opportunities to try all of their sauces. Their ranch is legendary. You simply must finish with a banana pudding that comes plated so adorably in a mason jar. Always happy, always stuffed, always lightening fast.. basically perfection. read more

While enjoying a girls weekend in Winston, we wanted BBQ and was told on great authority that Little Richards was the best. After a day of wine tasting, we stopped for a late dinner. We split a rib platter, the Smoked Pimento Cheese chips and a basket of hushpuppies. The Smoked Pimento Cheese Chips were my favorite! After a day of drinking they were perfect. With the rib platter we got the frito pie and baked beans. Frito Pie for my "northern" friends is a "Walking Taco" Fritos with taco meat, cheese, lettuce and sour cream served in the frito bag. YUM. It wasn't very busy for a Saturday night, but it was kind of late 8pm. I would definitely go back. I'll add photos shortly. read more

Stopped by here while passing through on 40 and seeing yelp reviews. The star rating is gong to be solely based on what I ordered meaning that if I had ordered some other items this might be a five star. Chicken wings 5/5. Amazing flavor and tenderness. Brisket. 1/5. Unfortunately probably the worst I've had. In fact I did not eat it after two bites. For me brisket should be as tender as a tender gets. Juicy, succulent, a good crust and some areas of fat. This was chewy, no fat at all and slightly dry. Could not even pull it apart. Seemed like they used the flat brisket rather than the point brisket meat and overcooked it. I'll return to try the BBQ at some point inside environment is BBQish meaning it had that nice rustic BBq vibe. Staff exceptionally awesome!!! read more

Little Richards in Clemmons off Lewisville-Clemmons Rd on Stadium Dr is a great barbecue restaurant. The service was great and seated right away. Lots of options food wise and plenty of great selections. Highly recommend the corn bites and chicken. The beef brisket was on the drier side and French fries were nothing special. I wish they would offer less sides and more meat for the price you pay but still plenty of food. read more

Great place if you're looking for BBQ! It's a little hidden off of Clemmons Lewisville. Loved the sweet tea so much we took home a pitcher. I went for the BBQ Ribs and OMG so delicious, melting right off the bone! We will definitely come back for more. They have great outdoor seating which I forgot to take pictures of.. next time. Inside is just as comfortable, a little like southern hospitality where you can sit yourself, instead of waiting. Let it be known I didn't care as much for the fried Okra or the hush puppies. Though, did I mention the BBQ ribs!! My kid had the beef brisket, and she gave me a thumbs up! I'll be back to try more items from their menu. read more

Wasn't a good night for Little Richards. I've eaten here a few times at the recommendation of family. We got takeout tonight and it obviously was not one of their better nights. The chop barbecue was extremely dry. The wings seemed to be over cooked and we're also somewhat dry. They tasted like they've been sitting around for a while. I even arrived 15 minutes prior to the pick up time and found my food already sitting out ready to go. The chop plate was cold the wings were slightly warm at best.. While I've eaten here in the past and the meals have been very good this is just not the night. I will try it again hopefully this is not to become their norm. If so I'll be finding a new place for barbecue in Clemmons. read more

We made the mistake of placing an online order at this location. We thought "Little Richard's is always great even though we've never been to this location, we're sure it's gonna be good" we couldn't have been more wrong. The meat was dry, no flavor. Sandwich was soggy and disgusting even though we were on time to pick up our order as scheduled. EVERYTHING was cold as if it was made and sat under a heat lamp. Hushpuppies were dry and gross. The only thing edible was the Mac, beans and onion rings, still leaving us with upset stomachs and possibly food poisoning. Everything else was tossed in the garbage. By the time I was able to call the clemmons location to inform them of the issue, they were closed. I spoke to a "manager" on the phone the moment they opened the next day and it was obvious she did not care about our experience. She asked me if I called the manager the night before but I informed her they were closed by the time I was able to. She said "I can't issue you a refund just because you didn't like the food" which I informed her was not the case as the food was DISGUSTING and COLD. She said there was absolutely nothing she could do except have the food remade. Why on earth would we want to reorder and attempt to eat the same thing again after such a poor experience 12 hours before??? Horrible way to treat loyal Little Richard's customers as we have been going to Little Richard's locations for years. We will NEVER return to this location and I would not recommend it to anyone as the customer service would have saved us but unfortunately management did not care. For $63.00 this is an outrage. read more

Everyone has their opinions on what the best BBQ is, so for me, Little Richard's is the best available in Winston-Salem for classic N.C BBQ. They have large menu, great sides (the onion rings are my favorite) and reasonable prices. They also have great sauces, both their eastern and western N.C BBQ sauces are delicious and their Carolina gold sauce is solid as well. Service is quick and efficient. Little Richard's is a decent Barbeque restaurant, but it isn't close to my favorite in the area. They give you nice size portions of food, especially in the side dish department, but the flavor on most things that I have had isn't quite as good as most other places around town. The last time I went in I had their pork, and I found it to be pretty bland and not smokey at all. I had to add a generous amount of sauce to get it up to snuff. The white slaw is pretty good but standard for the area. I was in the mood for fried okra, which was good and plentiful along with the hushpuppies which are fine as well. Service is friendly, and I sat near the front so it was pretty attentive too. I guess I would say Little Richard's just lacks that wow factor. I've yet to have a dish that beckons me to keep coming back. read more

I got the pulled pork tacos, everything on them with a side of hush puppies. My friend got the bbq nachos. We both enjoyed our food. We got take out and it would have been nice if they'd offered us some sauce to take to go with our food. In the future, I'd ask for some now that I know. The food here is really good. I got the hickory bbq plate with coleslaw, husk puppies, Mac and cheese, brisket, chopped bbq, and ribs. Everything was amazing. The chopped bbq is so moist. This plate fed me for 3 days! I'm only taking off a star because they don't have cornbread and that was disappointing I had to order hush puppies which I don't like but I will say theirs were very yummy and crispy! Maybe they have cornbread there but it wasn't an option when I ordered. Also I never had coleslaw like that. Instead of mayo it was bbq. It was tasty but it was soooo much bbq sauce it was very sweet and felt like I was eating the bbq sauce with little bits of cabbage in it. All the meat was good though. Had to go 5 on this based on the outstanding wings! The smokehouse BBQ sauce was also fantastic. I always get "no sauce" they have it at the table. Baked beans excellent too. And blazing hot. So many places server Luke warm sides. Cole slaw was good but had a few celery seeds. Sweet tea was light, (by no means weak) not sure how else to describe it but it was excellent as well and not overly sweet. Place was a mile from my hotel. read more

Little Richard's is the local chain Lexington style BBQ place here in the triad area west of Greensboro. Food is good, with a pretty extensive menu and offering of sides. I'm not an Lexington style bbq guy, I much prefer Eastern NC style vinegar based products bbq but can't discount that they bbq is good and you should give it a try. The smoked sausage is great, the smoked chicken is as well. Service is always on point at the Clemmons location. Highly recommend giving a try. read more

This place has really gone downhill. At one time it was a good BBQ restaurant but the last three visits have been disappointing. Long time customers and we are done with this place. We both ordered two meat plates. The brisket was tough, the ribs were cold and not cooked all the way through. Every side was cold and tasted at least a day old. Our favorite BBQ in Winston! We love this location and always have the best service. Tonight we had Elizabeth who was so attentive and sweet. Started with the house chips which were cooked perfectly and the ranch that it comes with is so good. I always get the chopped pork which I think is cooked perfectly and really flavorful, but always add more dip because it's delicious. My dad tried the brisket sandwich for the first time and he loved it. The smoked chicken here is delicious too, husband had it on the sandwich and I've had it on the salad before- recommend pairing it with their Alabama white sauce First time trying the banana pudding which was also delicious and the presentation was great too! Husband said the vanilla wafers were the perfect consistency. Highly recommend checking out any of their locations! read more

Very rustic atmosphere, and laid back people enjoying their selection of foods. The menu is selective for BBQ lovers; too many choices can overwhelm even the most sophisticated palates. We ordered our food and our selections came quickly straight from the kitchen to our table. We could tell by the fact that we had to wait a few minutes to eat because it was still piping hot as noted by our servers. Just know, for vegetarian meals will need to bought from the side items menu with a great variety of options; but also know any beans with have meat in them as the cooking stock. Barbecue is great as is the sauces. I have had the wings too, which were great. The sides, however, are not good. It seems like they don't put much effort into them. The Mac n cheese seems like it comes out of a cheese-like product box versus being homemade. They certainly aren't using quality cheese. The collard greens have some sort of weird ingredient in them that makes them taste very different than all the delicious collards you've had before. Also one bite had a small rock in it, so they probably weren't washed. The fries were not crispy, though they were hot. Finally, the didn't put nearly enough sauce on my barbecue. When I brought this to their attention they said it's an up charge for more sauce. The picture is AFTER I tripled the amount of sauce the barbecue had on it. If this place had great sides and didn't charge you for the sauce, it would be 5 stars. The barbecue really is amazing. read more
