The staff was friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in, they actually only had one server today for the entire restaurant which I know would have had to have been very stressful but she was absolutely the sweetest and she did an awesome job of making sure that everyone had everything they needed even with the restaurant being packed. I've not been a fan of the food at Applebee's, finding most dishes to be just average, missing the mark more often than not. But I came specifically to try their newly introduced $9.99 Big Meal Deal. This was in response to the plethora of such deals that have emerged over the last few months, and especially to the meal deal just introduced by Chili's - a meal deal I've tried and found to be one of the best such deal out there - of course that's not a tough hill to climb! Here I ordered the Cluckin' Chicken Sandwich, which comes with a 20 ounce drink and FF for $9.99. The time out of the kitchen was under 15 minutes. In 2024 alone, meal deals ranging in price from $5 to $10 have been introduced by KFC, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Arby's, Burger King, Popeye's, Jimmy John's, Chili's, as well as Applebee's - I have sampled them all, some have more than 1 entree option! This chicken here is described in the restaurant's advertising as a "MASSIVE hand-breaded chicken breast" hinting that it is the largest in the industry. It is large but definitely not the largest - national chain largest is at KFC @ over 10 ounces, Popeye's is well over 8 ounces; local largest is Bad Daddy's Burger Bar, beats KFC! So how about this sandwich - good value, decent sandwich, once reworked ( more below), but as plated this is no game changer. The chicken is not especially flavorful, lacks seasoning - what is there is muted by the terrible brioche bun (too much bread at the top, falls apart at the bottom). I think the same restaurant geniuses that decided the brioche bun was the way to go, also decided that putting the pickles, tomato, and lettuce on the bottom would be good though the thin bread bottom would be destroyed - probably also came up with putting the mustard last on a hot dog - 3 napkins, 6 if you have a beard. Lastly the lettuce and tomato added little, in fact the shredded ribbons of lettuce constantly fall out. The Mayo is simply Mayo, adds little to nothing. After a couple of bites, I cut the sandwich into, removed the tomato, and much of the shredded lettuce, spread the mayo evenly, it had been glopped in the middle of the chicken breast. After adding a good amount of salt and pepper, I splashed on a lot of Frank's Original Hot Sauce - now we had a decent sandwich, and coupled with the FF and drink, we had a bit of a meal deal. This sandwich is currently only available in the combo format. Now the FF were flavorful and plentiful, and as I mentioned the drink was 20 ounces, and there are refills! Not a fan of having to reconstruct a sandwich, the kitchen's job is to get it right to begin with. If I were to order it again, I'd have the lettuce and tomato left off, and have the hot sauce brought straight out. read more

Applebees is a favorite of our family. We are always greeted and seated pretty quickly. The waiters are great help when taking our orders. They offers a ton of appetizer choices. We love getting the boneless wings. Our food options were great, offering plenty to choose from. I always like sitting by the bar to have access to the tv so I can watch my sports. Absolutely the worst meal I have had in a restaurant in years. Made the mistake of ordering the all you can eat special. Started with chicken tenders that were nothing but bread. Came with french fries that were "old" and cold, had to send them back. Came with their famous coleslaw. It's famous, it was cabbage with some carrots and tasted awful. Ordered fried shrimp that took 20 minutes to get to me and was as bad as the chicken tenders. Tried the ribs next, and they were a piece of flat meat with bbq sauce and was disgusting. That extra star is for the waiter, our waiter was very nice! The food on the other hand was terrible. Been a long time since we ate at Applebee's, we heard about their boneless wings and we decided to give it a try; the chicken is definitely frozen and old, very low grade, most probably fried ahead of time and heated after you make the order. Applebee's has always been one of our go-to for family dinners in every state we've lived. We have come to add the one in Clemmons to our list. We have always been greeted by friendly and enthusiastic waiters. Big thank you to Ebony who was great. I overheard that some staff was going on 14 hour shifts, yet they were friendly and just as enthusiastic as if we were their first guest that night. I forgot to take pictures of my meal but I know we will be back! It was 15 minute wait but it was efficient and without the hassle of having to sit in the waiting area looking for a place to sit while being called. So the food and the service was great and the server was very nice attractive. We've had him before, but it just doesn't cut it. The ambience was horrible. It was about 85° in the restaurant. They did not have their air-conditioning on. It was very uncomfortable. in fact, it was more than uncomfortable. It was 100% miserable. I actually thought a few times I was going to pass out to the floor. We just are not coming back ever. We don't wanna go to a restaurant that we're suffering at. WORST APPLEBEES EVER. We went in and was told it would be a 5 minute wait and we waited 20 minutes until we got tired of waiting and went to the bar instead. We sat at the bar and got waters but then the bartender never came back around to us to get our other drink orders or our food order. All he did was look at us, walk around and screw around with the other customers who seemed like "regulars" there. I came to this location to celebrate my daughter's win of class election and the Service was TERRIBLE!! We sat for 15mins before we got a drink order in or a simple "hi ill be your waiter" . The evening we were in it was not busy. There were two servers and each lady had two tables and our server didn't get her second table till near the end of our meal. We used to go regularly to this location - food was good, hot, great service. Went the other night and the bartender was not amused that he had to wait on us (the place was not wildly busy by any means), let us know that the available wait staff was below his standards. The order took forever, refills on drinks were very slow to arrive (by the waitress), no napkins or straws provided. In addition, there was a very drunk female at the bar who started screaming at another regular patron, using very profane language (this particular woman is regularly soused to the gills and screaming at someone) making for a very unpleasant end to our dinner. She was also going after people leaving the bar. The manager should have cut her drinks off waaay before we got there or asked her to leave - she was so drunk she couldn't stand up straight in her heels. Do I want this person driving on the roads - NO! Applebees could be held liable if there were to be an accident after she had been drinking so much there. We won't go back. read more

I dined at this restaurant on 11/13/15, a Friday night with my family. We opted for the 2 for $25 meals. 1. The Caesar Salads were very good. The ingredients were fresh, and the dressing was delicious. 2. I opted for the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp and it too, was delicious and full of rich flavors. 3. My wife ordered the Sirloin steak prepared medium. While it looked appetizing on the plate it was really overcooked and tasted as if it was over-seasoned. It was almost inedible. 4. My 10 - year-old son had the pizza from the Children's Menu and he loved it. He ate every bite which is rare. The restaurant was nicely appointed and the service was excellent. While I would recommend the restaurant to others, I would NOT recommend that sirloin steak. read more

While this Applebee's location is not a groundbreaking restaurant with exciting new local fare, there is nothing preventing me from giving 5 stars. If you're looking for a chain restaurant with affordable prices and good food, I think this Applebee's is a great option. My boyfriend and I love to share the appetizer sampler. It's great for when we're not starving but want to go get some grub. The boneless wings are just as good as East Coast Wings or Buffalo Wild Wings. While there are not many sauce options, the spicy buffalo is solid. The spinach artichoke dip, the chips and queso and mozzarella sticks are all solid options. It's a great value at less than $15 for the sampler. With 2 fountain drinks, you can still get out for less than $20. They feature specials each night including $7.99 burgers, and kids eat for 99¢. The staff here has never been an issue for us, as it is at some franchises. They are always very friendly, polite and quite attentive.
