Buffalo chicken wrap is bomb. House chips are also really good. Quick service and decent beer selection

Mike B.

We wanted to grab something to eat on a Sunday afternoon after doing some work around the house and wanted something close and convenient. We've had Mossy's on our radar for a while after seeing several of our fellow Yelpers enjoy their experiences. We walked in and were greeted by a hostess and we asked if we could sit at the bar. We were given menus and our bartender, Jennifer, stopped by and took our drink orders. Jennifer was friendly and welcoming and we let her know we hadn't been in before and she was very helpful with recommendations. She told us that typically they are quite busy on Sunday afternoons, but with a couple of local events happening that day, we picked a good day to get familiar with Mossy's. We are easily persuaded to enjoy a big basket of hot chips and decided to place an order to share. We were greeted by a fellow veteran and his wife who welcomed us and explained Mossy's has a good amount of regulars that are like family. Our hot chips arrived quickly and the order was HUGE! There were a good amount of soft/foldable chips amongst the crisp ones which we love. They were very, very good! I ordered a Mossy's burger and fries while my wife ordered the Strawberry Walnut salad. We were equally impressed with our entrees and thought the portions, freshness and flavors were better than standard bar food. We really enjoyed our experience and Mossy's is definitely somewhere we will return. We are really glad we finally stopped in!

Buffalo Wings - 10 Wings with Honey Hot glaze

Out late in Clemmons, there are limited dining options unless you want fast food, so I was happy to find Mossy's on Yelp. The decision was made as soon as I saw many of the Elites that I trust had all positive reviews and pictures here. With ample parking near the door, it was easy to get here. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and on a beautiful summer evening we chose outdoor seating. Right from the start, service was friendly and attentive. We started with drinks and an appetizer. I got the $4 House Margarita which was the daily special, and my wife got the Cherry Limeade. We also ordered the Chips and Jalapeño Queso for an appetizer. The house margarita tasted fresh, and while it was a small glass, it was what I would expect for a $4 special. The Cherry Limeade was similarly small, though at $9 didn't feel like much value. It was cherry vodka and lime juice, and if you're not already a fan of a Vodka & Lime, the addition of cherry isn't going to sell you. I thought it was good, but she didn't. No big deal though. For meals, I ordered the Mossy's Club, and I thought it was neat to be served on Naan bread instead of toast. It was stacked to the ceiling with fresh and flavorful ingredients, and while messy to eat, I enjoyed every bite of the half I could finish. The serving size is huge and I took half home for the next day. I had the hand cut chips for my side, and they were quite good. My wife ordered 10 bone-in wings with the Hot Honey glaze, and a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were fantastic, soft but with a crispy exterior and a great flavor. Easily some of the best sweet potato fries I've come across in the wild. The wings were HUGE and cooked just right with lightly crispy exteriors. Most of the wings came home with us, but they were fantastic and I'm bookmarking Mossy's for next time I have a wing craving. Near the end of the meal, we ordered the Southern Love Cocktail (which I forget all the ingredients of, but perhaps Amaretto, Southern Comfort, and peach?) Either way, it was also good, fairly sweet but with a subtle Smokey flavor on the back of the palate. I'm very happy we came across this one, and I can see why my fellow Elites love it!

We ventured back in and was pleasantly surprised! We had an early dinner (around 5) and they were already getting super busy. I ordered the club on naan bread with homemade chips. It was delish! Service was attentive and friendly, and prices super reasonable. We'll be back!

We came here to watch a hockey game, and we had a good time, it's a cool sport bar with tvs everywhere, the staff was very friendly and attentive. And we ordered beers, but they have a lot of cocktails options too. As for the food we ordered the white cheddar cheese curds (so good) and the southwest egg rolls

Your everyday bar food but in my opinion, better. The pickle pizza, the cookie skillets, the appetizers it was all absolutely delicious. They have more of a variety than most sports bars too. Parking is a bit difficult as it's in a busy area and it's loud inside as well as you'd expect for a sports bar.

A look inside the Italian Sub - very thin on meat and cheese!
Fred B.

I have been to this sports bar several times but failed to review it. It's the typical sports bar, small bar area, but nice, and there is adequate seating for dining, as well as some outside seating. It can get noisy especially around the bar area, as it did on this trip. They offer a nice array of sandwiches, wraps, wings, pizza, soups and salads, as well as a few main entrees such as fish and chips (I recommend), and a full bar with a nice selection of draft beers. On this trip I went with the Italian Sub and stepped up the side to a cup of Chili for $2 raising the cost to $13.50, and a Stella on draft. The chili was out quickly topped with adds of jalapeños and shredded cheddar cheese. The chili was loaded with ground beef and beans, and packed with a nice heat level - my kind of stuff, and yeah I prefer chili with beans! The Italian Sandwich was not like any such sandwich I've had before, and I do eat this sandwich often. The sub roll was well sized and crusty, the meat and cheese was 1 thin slice each - ham, salami, pepperoni & Swiss Cheese. Theses items were covered with plenty of shredded lettuce and chopped tomato, and they were topped with an Italian dressing that was a strange yellow color and with a strong vinegar taste - which suggests to me that there is more than a little mustard in it! While not unpleasant, it was certainly different in looks and taste! I would probably not order this item again - a combination of taste and value. The Original #13 at Jersey Mike's has five meats and provolone and goes for $12.95 - bigger and better. However there is much to like here, this was just a choice I wouldn't do again. Others items are worth a visit.

My daughter has been bugging me to try this place so we did. Mossy's is a sports bar with about 1,000 televisions throughout the place. They have amole seating. The place was crowded for a Tuesday. We were seating promptly. The server was polite and efficient. Mossy's is known for their wings. Sticker shock warning: $19 for 10 wings or $40 for 25. We decided to split an order of wings and an order of pretzel bites ($7). The wings came with celery and carrots and your choice of ranch or blue cheese. The pretzels came with honey mustard and cheese sauce. The wings were crispy and good. Veggies were fresh. Blue cheese was ok but seemed thin and odd snapped blue cheese pieces. The pretzels and dips were also good. With tip it came to $33. I know prices have increased but for this reviewer, the value wasn't there for $33 for what we got. I doubt I will be returning, too rich for my blood

Carolina burger
Amanda H.

I dined here last night with friends. It was my first visit. The menu was a nice size, not overwhelmingly large. I ordered the Carolina burger with fries. It was delicious, though I had to eat it with a fork and knife due to the chili on it. My burger was cooked a perfect medium temperature. I also ordered the cherry limeade off the cocktail menu, but did not think to grab a picture. It was an eventful evening there as someone passed out and my friend knocked her glass over and tried to catch it cutting her hand. The staff was very quick to respond to both events. They very quickly called EMS for the person that passed out, and brought bandages and first aid items to my friend. The place is a little on the smaller side for the area it is located but overall an enjoyable meal.

One of my favorite places in the area!! Mossy's is a no-frills sports bar with great food and drink specials. It's reminiscent of one of my favorite college bars, but the food is 100% better. I'm not a sports gal, but there were many TVs airing different sports. Stopped by on a Tuesday and enjoyed a craft beer on draft for $3.50! I've stopped in when they have long islands on special too, and those are great too. I'm a creature of habit so I always get the same thing - the bone-in wings, half hot and half cajun, with a side of fries. The wings are always juicy, and I appreciate how every wing is a fair size. Their fries are pretty tasty and come in a big portion, which is great for the fry fiend in me. The service is always great, too! The servers are friendly and always make sure I never go too long with an empty drink. All in all, Mossy's is a great casual hang out spot for food and drinks!

Hot and Cajun Wings
Brian N.

Mossy's is a local sports bar with great drinks and delicious wings. There are about a dozen TVs with a variety of sports running at any given time. There are plenty of booths, tables, and an outdoor patio. Service is quick and everyone is very nice. We got their wings (Hot and Cajun) and a side of fries. Food came out fast. The hot wings are nicely tossed and weren't too spicy. The cajun wings were a dry-rub that was a perfect combination of heat and savory-ness. They came with celery, carrot sticks, and a choice of either ranch or blue cheese, pretty standard pairings. The fries are both crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. We had an overall great experience.

We were interested in watching the Oregon Duck football game this afternoon and were looking for a place to watch the second half of the game while grabbing something to eat. My wife did a bit of searching and suggested the Playground. We mentioned this to our friend and neighbor and he had nothing but great things to say about the place. We arrived shortly after 5pm on Saturday evening, and had no trouble finding parking. We were immediately impressed. They have a nice outdoor patio and once we walked inside we could see this was not your typical "sports bar". In addition to the bar/counter area, there are tables throughout the main area near the stage and bar. They also have virtual games that allow people to play everything from Zombie Dodgeball to Baseball. We took a seat at the bar and asked if one of the TV's could be changed to the Oregon game. They were happy to accommodate us but we also appreciated that they checked with another couple they knew were interested in the games playing to ensure we each had at least one TV focused on the game of our choice. The young man who provided us menus was friendly and helpful. We also met the manager, Sam who gave us a bit more history on the place and we discovered we are both Penn State Alum, which was cool. I ordered an IPA on draft and saw for the first time a draft system that fills the cups from the bottom with a magnet filler system. Sam and I talked a bit about it and how it works, which we found really interesting. We looked over the food menu and were happy to see they had both Roman style pizza crust options and cauliflower crust options. My wife ordered the pesto pizza on cauliflower crust with no cheese. I ordered the meat lovers pizza on the roman crust with no ranch dressing. My wife visited the women's restroom and reported they were spotless and well equipped. She even made a comment to Sam that she really appreciated the level of attention that is clearly put into the place to keep it clean and well kept. Our pizzas were ready about the same time as the band arrived to begin setting up for a 7:30pm show. We were told the band was a county music group that was really good. We've since started following the Playground on Facebook to keep up with their music offerings. We opened our pizza boxes and both pies looked delicious! My wife oohed and awed over each bite of her pizza and managed to eat the whole thing. I was equally pleased with my pizza but only managed to eat half since it contains a lot more dough than the cauliflower crust, but that leaves me with leftovers, which I love. Overall, this was a great experience and we will absolutely be back! We are also excited that we've found our new place to watch College Football this year. A big shoutout to Sam and the people at the Playground. You've created something really special in our neighborhood.

LevelXperience was playing, which is an all-girls band and they were awesome! But they have two bars for service because they had recently bought the area beside them and now it's full of arcade games which are pretty fun as an adult after you've been drinking a bit. On one side they do have adult slushies. They have added more bathrooms and more pool tables, if you enter on the arcade side and they have a band you will need to pay an entrance fee. There's a local Dart group that competes each week and I know they have Super Bowl parties which includes food and prizes. The funny thing is, I asked the bartender on the arcade if they have Red Stripe, she said Yes, of course, it's been awhile since I've heard it called that!." Now she looked to be 24-28ish and bless her heart- she handed me a PBR. I looked at the bottle and was going to say something but hey, of course we all know PBR does have a red stripe in the label. But nonetheless, good prices and fun times. Plenty of people to sing along and dance with or play a round of pool. The Green Tea shots here are the best I've had anywhere. Plenty of parking and you are basically 10 feet away from the late night Taco Bell menu to help absorb the alcohol. If you're looking for a a quiet spot for a few minutes away from the music, they have an outdoor area to the right of the building, it is accessible without going inside first. You will have to show ID or your wristband at every entrance and the place is large enough to host a birthday party, a Friendsgiving get together or GNO, there's a hotel close by in case you go for their New Years Eve PARTY. A few of my friends and I actually had a hilarius Christmas photo shoot at VS Taphouse about 10 years ago. So good try a new cocktail for fall and get your pinball game on-Saturday and Sunday they open at 12 noon if you just want to take the kids to play a few old school arcade games.

But I came specifically to try their newly introduced $9.99 Big Meal Deal. This was in response to the plethora of such deals that have emerged over the last few months, and especially to the meal deal just introduced by Chili's - a meal deal I've tried and found to be one of the best such deal out there - of course that's not a tough hill to climb! Here I ordered the Cluckin' Chicken Sandwich, which comes with a 20 ounce drink and FF for $9.99. The time out of the kitchen was under 15 minutes. In 2024 alone, meal deals ranging in price from $5 to $10 have been introduced by KFC, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Arby's, Burger King, Popeye's, Jimmy John's, Chili's, as well as Applebee's - I have sampled them all, some have more than 1 entree option! This chicken here is described in the restaurant's advertising as a "MASSIVE hand-breaded chicken breast" hinting that it is the largest in the industry. It is large but definitely not the largest - national chain largest is at KFC @ over 10 ounces, Popeye's is well over 8 ounces; local largest is Bad Daddy's Burger Bar, beats KFC! So how about this sandwich - good value, decent sandwich, once reworked ( more below), but as plated this is no game changer. The chicken is not especially flavorful, lacks seasoning - what is there is muted by the terrible brioche bun (too much bread at the top, falls apart at the bottom). I think the same restaurant geniuses that decided the brioche bun was the way to go, also decided that putting the pickles, tomato, and lettuce on the bottom would be good though the thin bread bottom would be destroyed - probably also came up with putting the mustard last on a hot dog - 3 napkins, 6 if you have a beard. Lastly the lettuce and tomato added little, in fact the shredded ribbons of lettuce constantly fall out. The Mayo is simply Mayo, adds little to nothing. After a couple of bites, I cut the sandwich into, removed the tomato, and much of the shredded lettuce, spread the mayo evenly, it had been glopped in the middle of the chicken breast. After adding a good amount of salt and pepper, I splashed on a lot of Frank's Original Hot Sauce - now we had a decent sandwich, and coupled with the FF and drink, we had a bit of a meal deal. This sandwich is currently only available in the combo format. Now the FF were flavorful and plentiful, and as I mentioned the drink was 20 ounces, and there are refills! Not a fan of having to reconstruct a sandwich, the kitchen's job is to get it right to begin with. If I were to order it again, I'd have the lettuce and tomato left off, and have the hot sauce brought straight out.
