    Smokehouse Burger French Fries

Attended for my 10 year olds birthday lunch after go kart racing. It was nice day so we sat outside we he really enjoyed. Inside was more of a sports bar vibe. The food was good and if I were in town looking for a good burger I'd stop in.

Always consistent and delicious. It's a from scratch kitchen and even their dipping sauces are made in house. I ordered the hand breaded chicken tenders and chip fries. Service is always good. Love this local place.

Honestly, we started out at another restaurant to dine at on this day. Unfortunately, when we arrived, that restaurant didn't have any food to serve... yes, you heard that right. We were in the mood to try somewhere that we haven't dined at yet. The power of yelp brought us here, and we are very happy that it did. This is a very nice and clean looking upscale type of sports bar restaurant. TV's are all around for you to catch the action. Wasn't too busy this day so we were able to be seated quickly. We started out with an order of the wing tossed in their honey sriracha sauce. That sauce is the bomb.com. It was the perfect balance of sweet along with the spice that you would think that you would get with this. It made me craving more wings, but we still had our actual entrées to eat lol. I got the prime rib French dip sandwich. The sandwich itself was good. The meat on it was cooked very well. I do wish for the price when we however, the sandwich would be a little bit bigger. I felt myself eating kind of slow because I didn't want to feel like I wasn't getting my moneys worth for this sandwich if that makes sense. Overall, it was still a good sandwich I will say. The service here was perfect. They made sure that we were taking care of the whole time we were there. Everyone working there was very nice. I'll come back again to try some other items on the menu. I'll definitely be back to get some more wings! It's going to be hard to top the honey sriracha. I also had my eye on the bourbon chipotle sauce that they have, so that will be my next option to try. Looking forward to it!

Since first finding it, and with the completion of the loop around town, we've been back here at least once a month. It's still one of our top 10 places in town as we just always have a good experience with the food, the drinks and the staff. I will say, I try to come during more off hours as it seems like everyone else likes it too.

I've been coming since they opened and it's always consistent and amazing. I love the whole staff and there isn't anything on the menu that I haven't tried. The chip fries are a must get and you can't go wrong with any of their burgers

Never disappointed with my service food or ambiance here! I can count on a decent cocktail delicious food and being treated like a human being. Decided I should get here more often. Thank you CharBar.

This restaurant has a tavern vibe. We had the beer battered mushrooms which were great with ranch but they serve them with a horseradish dip that tastes horrible. Be sure to substitute the horseradish dip for ranch and thank me later. The Smother Me Naked Hamburger steak was tasty! Covered in Monterey Jack, mushrooms and onions seasoned perfectly. It comes with a salad, any side and went perfectly with a beer. Our waitress was nice but not very attentive. I noticed the wait staff has a lackadaisical demeanor by watching the other staff wait on the tables next to ours. The manager did come by and check to see if the food was good. I really appreciated that. I would definitely go back, the restaurant as a whole is a thumbs up.

Started with the buffalo chicken dip and then the chipotle chicken sandwich. Both were excellent and highly recommend. Been here several times before and the food is always good.

Me and my family recently stopped by CharBar for the first time. We started with the fried pickles and they were delicious! I liked the shape they were cut into, kind of like fries and they had a nice crispy exterior with a creamy dipping sauce. For my entree I got the blackened shrimp tacos with the chip fries. The tacos were pretty good. The shrimp were cooked nicely and had a good flavor but they were quite messy. Honestly I'd come back just for the chip fries! They were the perfect combination of a chip and fry. My family all enjoyed their meals as well!

We ended up here by accident because another place was out of just about all their food options, and what a beautiful accident it was! We were promptly seated and I noticed that all of the food in passing looked delicious. As soon as I sat down, it hit me, that 7 years ago before I moved, I came for a work event and we had a long table full of appetizers that were all good! Because of this I was very hopeful that my meal would be a good one. Upon looking at the menu I found a wide variety of food options to suit just about every pallet and several allergies. Many of the options were elevated bar food with quite a few fresh salad option. After deciding what type of food I was in the mood for I decided start with Honey Sriracha Chicken wings! They were a nice size, with a light crisp, and cooked and flavored to perfection! For my meal I chose the #7 smash burger which I knew had to be good since is named after the restaurant (or maybe the restaurant is named after it?) and the shaved Brussel sprouts as my upgraded side. The burger had a nice cast iron skillet presentation and came wrapped to hold in all the saucy cheesy goodness! It also came with 2 patties which made it quite filling! The Brussels were nice bacon and buttery but if you are looking to make it a healthier side I would ask if they could hold some of the butter. Overall I was very impressed with thus place and will be back! Maybe I'll check out their all season covered patio next time!

Visited and had a delicious meal! Started with nachos and it was huge serving! Burgers were excellent. My husband got the Charleston Burger and I got the Sweet Heat Burger. Both were cooked to perfection. Drinks were good and they had good specials on drinks as well. I enjoyed their new signature drink, the prickly pear. Ambiance is casual scene with heightened bar food. We went for a college alumni event and were treated well with the tvs all turned to our schools game. Definitely a good place for families & friends getting together. Had a nice looking outdoor covered area too, we didn't sit there but looked quieter than the indoor area we were in.

We came to watch the Kentucky Derby. First, let me say the waitress was great. She kept track of…read moreall thirteen of our orders and did as she was trained. Her demeanor always remained professional and courteous. The food varied based upon what was ordered. Those who ordered sandwiches reported they were good; those that ordered salads said they were okay (the Cobb was missing the egg and the chicken tasted pre-cooked; one person was charged 75 cents for extra honey mustard dressing), and those that ordered burgers said they were mediocre, reporting that the meat was room temperature and had a texture that felt pre-cooked. Beer was great. The issue came from the management. A person in our party ordered a Mint Julep. The waitress had never heard of it and checked with the bartender to make sure it could be made. She said the bartender wasn't familiar with it, but could look it up and make it. The drink never came. One of us went to the bar, picked it up, and brought it to our table. The drink lacked color. When our friend drank it, she said she couldn't taste any bourbon. (A classic Mint Julep should have 2-2.5 oz of KY bourbon.) We asked for more bourbon to pour into the drink. When the bill came, our friend was charged $23 for the drink: $10 for the drink that was made incorrectly, $10 for the extra bourbon, $3 for the sprig of mint. All our wanted was to be compensated the $10 for the incorrectly made drink. Management said they could not do it, that it would be illegal for them to do it, and that the bartender followed "their" recipe and that, even though it may not be what she was used to, the drink was made in accordance with their recipe. In other words, they lied. Management can always "make it right" by offering a $10 compensation, but they would have none of it. The integrity of the restaurant is lacking, particularly regarding management. So many great restaurants exist in the area. (We ate at two other restaurants that week that were excellent and in the same price range.) Why take a chance on one like this? Reading other reviews shows that something is terribly wrong with The Upper Deck Kitchen.....and what they call cocktails.

That's the way it was for us and Taproom, a long time Greensboro pub on Battleground Avenue. The last time we stopped by was pre-pandemic. Prior to Covid we had been somewhat regulars, visiting every couple of months. As we walked in, it was as if we had entered a time machine. Nothing aesthetically had changed. That's a good thing because Taproom exuded the comfortable dark wood intimate setting that it is always enjoyed. We wanted a little bar food and a couple of adult beverages. At the suggestion of the bartender, we split a Caesar salad as well as a Black and Bleu black flatbread. The Caesar salad is a classic and was very satisfying. Can't say it is special, but it is simply delicious. The flatbread was a lot of fun. It comes with olive oil, caramelized, onion, crumbled bleu cheese, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. We added blackened fillet tips as our protein. My only complaint is I should've ordered two. The flatbread is incredibly satisfying and the beef tips were savory, tender, and flavorful. I went old-school on the drink. I had a 20 ounce Guinness, while my wife had a mule. Both were spot on and worked really well with the food we had. Everything was very affordable as well. Taproom is loud and feels neighborly. I reviewed it nine years ago and I'm changing nothing. I highly recommend a visit if you're looking for drinks and pub food in a classic environment.

I went to the bathroom and when I came back, someone decided to sit in the seat right next to me. Why?! I must comment on the service. The barkeep got me a menu quick and I ordered a water. During my meal, my water sat empty for 5 minutes or so even thought I counted 8 staff members behind the bar. Given the time of day, it was not busy. I ordered onion rings (as a side) and the Bacon Jam burger as it came with the "cordon Bleu" fries. The onion rings stole the show. So good. The fries were not my jam. Low quality cheese sauce with lunch meat ham that was diced. My fault, I should have subbed regular fries as I don't like stuff on my fries. I was expecting it to be a seasoning. My mistake. The burger was good not great. I got the 12 oz size and learned it is 2 fat 6 oz. patties stacked. Makes it VERY tall. The description of this burger is shown in one of my photos. Again, it was good but the flavors just did not pop. Wish I got the French Onion burger. Next time. :-) I do recommend!

Not just thin, but completely hollow with no cheese, just an outer shell. The "beef" empanadas had no beef inside. Again, mainly hollow with only a little cheese inside. Overcooked and almost impossible to chew. They were also out of some pickled items that were supposed to be on the plate, and they substituted some old strawberries, which definitely did not complement anything on this plate. We were here for a full meal, but we stopped here and did not order our main courses. ***MOST IMPORTANTLY*** Some employees were engaging in activities inside the establishment, which are not conducive to a restaurant in any capacity. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)
