This was our first time visiting Waterbean and we were pleasantly surprised. We were running errands in the area and this was the closest coffee shop and decided to give it a try. It was so cute and modern inside with seating. We decided to try one of their seasonal drinks (brown sugar pistachio latte) and they made it so fast. They also have Vietnamese coffee if that is something you'd like to try. The baristas were friendly as well. This was one of the best lattes we've had in Winston so far and would definitely go back.

Waterbean Coffee is a cool spot for coffee with plenty of seating. The coffee tasted great, the service was good and the ambiance is relaxed and inviting. We will try Waterbean again next time we are in the area.

Very spacious coffee shop, strong coffee beans and wonderful hours! What else could one want? It's a great place to catch up with a friend or meet up to do work. I plan to come back. Plenty of options on the menu-- including something I haven't seen anywhere ... Vietnamese coffee! If you know you know haha.

I was in the area the other day and stopped in for coffee. The shop is decorated really cute and has a good amount of seating. I ordered a snickerdoodle latte and it was delicious! It had this cold foam on top that reminded me of like a crème brûlée topping. It was like a crunchy sugar topping. The drink was pretty sugary but not too much for my taste. I thought the flavors went together great and it really did taste like a snickerdoodle.

Stopped by Waterbean Coffee and was super impressed! I tried the Paradise Latte (brown sugar with lavender and ube cold foam). I was a little skeptical about the flavor combo, but it ended up being so delicious, none of the flavors were overpowering and it blended perfectly. My husband got the Snickerdoodle Latte (white chocolate, cinnamon, and brown sugar) as a hot drink and it was amazing too. The barista we met was super friendly and gave great suggestions. The shop itself is adorable. Definitely the kind of place you'd want to catch up with a friend or get some work done. Only downside is it's a little pricier than nearby spots (about $7 per latte), but honestly the drinks were worth it.

Service was phenomenal had a lot of great options as far as coffee and tea goes. They also have a food menu I got a chicken sausage croissant and a Chai Tea Iced Latte which was extremely delicious. The place is nice and they have an outside area to sit at as well. Definitely check the place you will not be disappointed.

Trying new coffee places in Winston and this time around I went to waterbean! Charles helped me out as it was my first time there, he asked what I usually get i told him I usually get Chai latte's, so he recommended I try one of their seasonal drinks called cinnamon sticks, which is 3 pumps of chai and 1 pump of pumpkin spice and it was delicious! I also got a shot of espresso with it, and I had to try their avocado toast which was pretty okay! They had tons of veggie options and pastries to choose from as well. It was very clean inside, the place was spotless. I loved the coffee bar area they had and I'll be back to try their coffee flight!

The staff were so kind and helpful!! She said the cold foam snickerdoodle latte was popular and I see why, it is amazing!!! The cafe is in a great location and it's so pretty! There's additional seating outside and in the far corner, a great place to study or do work.

A narrow store located in the midst of many stores with a big open parking lot between them all, I've found Waterbean a quiet coffee respite in the middle of a busy area that includes Hanes Mall just down the road. The iced mocha I've enjoyed here probably ranks either first or second on my list of places. Waterbean Coffee's website lists their coffee as USDA certified organic. The service is quick, friendly and helpful. Despite the narrowness, plenty of seating is available and the atmosphere is bright; the floors, tables and chairs are clean; and the playlist has been pretty mellow the couple times I've been here. Pricing is on the higher side, in line with the big green coffee machine. If I have another opportunity to return in the future, I'll be here.

Today is officially the first day of Fall and it definitely felt like it outside (chilly and rainy). Glad I stopped into the Waterbean coffee place near the Rockbox where I was working for a pick me up! I decided to get the "Oh My Gourd" latte from their recent Fall drink menu along with a pumpkin flavored cookie. Both were delicious! The barista was super efficient considering she was there by herself to greet, work the front counter and make the drinks! My coworker who was with me told her to "make me your favorite drink!" She made her a hot maple cinnamon cayan latte. My coworker really enjoyed and said she always asks for the barista's favorite and is never disappointed. You can't go wrong with Waterbean-great service and great drinks!

This place is so terrific! From many options of tea to coffee the bakery items are wonderful and the macaroons exquisite. I have visited this place a few times now and it never disappoints. Great environment for study or a coffee date. They also have food options! The barista is also very friendly.

This is a great spot to meet up with a friend or do some work. For this area to be busy the coffee shop is quiet and not usually crowded. The employees are always friendly and make great recommendations. The drinks aren't overly sweet and they are always willing to make adaptions. The food offerings are pretty basic but made to order. I enjoyed my croissant sandwich for an easy lunch while working but nothing overly amazing.

Paradise latte (lavender latte with ube cold foam and brown sugar rim), hot snickerdoodle latte, cold foam snickerdoodle latte

This place is cute with a good amount of seating. The coffee is really good! I am a sweet coffee person but I can see how the coffee would be too sweet for someone who is not. They also have some bagels, sandwiches and some other things too!

My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!

My partner got the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with an iced latte. The lattes: go with a flavored one if you grab a coffee here. Their plain latte was not that good but their vanilla latte was very good. Biscuits: WOW! The Hangover Cure is hefty with plenty of biscuit to go around - I had some to take home with me. It was absolutely everything I needed after a night of imbibing with friends. My partner also enjoyed his biscuit. Cinnamon roll: very good! They had a variety of baked goods to choose from. We were looking for something new and…read morediscovered that Founders has brunch with Gluten Free chicken and waffles which is something we haven't found in North Carolina yet. Technically they have to use the same waffle maker so if you are a severe Celiac you should be aware of that, luckily our party member is able to chance very slight cross-contamination so it was not a worry big enough to override the desire for waffles. If it is an issue for you, they offer pancakes instead so you can still have a treat. We did not experience any ill-effects but your mileage may vary of course. Both the gluten free and standard breakfast options were terrific, it seems like everything was made in-house. We will absolutely be back. It seems like they have some limitations on how much of certain foods they can turn out (for example, they probably only have a handful of waffle makers) so it did take a little while to get our food. This isn't uncommon for brunch at many places but I don't know what it's like during dinner service so I can't speak to that. The place itself is beautiful, it looks like an old home or B&B and it's got a cozy charm. My only complaint was the Mimosa price being a bit high and the drink itself just being a standard cava+orange juice. I'd love to see $2 knocked off the Mimosa price if I could choose, but otherwise everything was so good. Finally, do get a reservation or be prepared to wait during the top hours.

We called ahead last week to reserve a table for 8 but it ended up being just the 6 of us. They still sat us at a nice oversized table (almost too large) in a semi-private room which was a pleasant surprise. Our waiter Brandon was very nice and friendly, prompt with orders, and always checking back in regularly. He also offered some suggestions on personal and fan favorites (shrimp and grits, beignets) I can't resist flight options when they're on the menu, so I had to go with the mimosa flight. I tried the sunrise, tropical, and Tiffany (OJ/tequila, bacardi/coconut/pineapple, and lemonade / blue zest). My favorite was actually the Tiffany even though I'm not a huge fan of lemonade, it was light and refreshing and crisp/chill, exactly how I love it. The other two were tasty but not as cold - I asked for ice - but probably because they're made with tequilas that aren't refrigerated. For our entrees, we got an assortment of benedicts, salads, and chicken/waffles. I personally had the pork belly benedict. The pork belly itself was really good and the poached eggs were perfectly runny, but as a whole, it fell a little flat, just didn't quite deliver the entire burst of flavor I was hoping for. It was not bad by any means, I think it just needed a/more sauce or something. All in all though, we had a great time and would definitely return. Pricing is pretty fair/standard as well. I could definitely be tempted by the martini or margarita flight next time as well as the beignets which we totally forgot about after the waiter initially suggested them!

The positive points are the accommodating, friendly, informative front desk staff. Breakfast was made on site from scratch, it was good and very well priced at $10.95. Although, people not coming in to eat breakfast shouldn't be picking up the lids to food to see what's there, read the signs or ask. My bed was very comfortable, with clean crisp white sheets. I was very pleased with the room, until I saw the moldy grout and broken toilet seat in the bathroom. After driving 8 hours I was too tired to change rooms that night. IF IT COMES, I MAY AMEND THE REVIEW] Don't Let My Mistake Become Your Mistake I rarely write negative reviews, but this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The HVAC system at this property is apparently old and, according to staff, frequently malfunctions. Unfortunately, I learned that firsthand when the air conditioning failed on the hottest day of the year--July 4th. After a long flight and drive from Charlotte Airport, I arrived expecting a comfortable night's rest. Instead, I spent a sleepless night in a sweltering room. To the hotel's credit, staff offered me a replacement room, but what was supposed to be an upgrade was just as hot as the standard room I had originally booked. At that point, there was no meaningful solution to the problem. What made the situation even worse was the hotel's billing policy. Unlike most hotels that charge you after your stay, this property charged my credit card in advance. That's particularly bad news when the hotel cannot provide the basic service you're paying for: a room with working air conditioning. With no realistic option but to leave, I checked out early on July 4th, forfeiting the second night of my reservation. Yet the front desk staff informed me they were not authorized to refund the unused night, despite already having charged my card. I was told that only the manager, Mr. Aaron Simerlink, could approve the refund--and that he works only Monday through Friday. Think about that for a moment. The hotel could charge my credit card immediately, but the employees standing in front of me supposedly lacked the authority to return money for a night I would not be using because the room was uninhabitable. Why should a guest have to spend a holiday weekend chasing down a manager to obtain a fair refund? Adding insult to injury was the customer service that followed. Mr. Simerlink initially avoided taking my call, and when I finally did speak with him after the front desk returned to him a second time, he ended the conversation by hanging up on me. That is not how a reputable hotel treats a guest who experienced a major service failure. Ironically, when I checked out, the front desk had mistakenly billed me for the room "upgrade." Somehow, they were able to correct that charge without Mr. Simerlink's intervention, yet they remained powerless to refund the unused night. The inconsistency speaks for itself. I eventually noticed that the unused night's charge had been refunded. That was the right outcome, but it should never have been a struggle to get there. A reputable operator would have shown genuine concern for a guest who endured a sleepless night in extreme heat. The response should have been immediate, apologetic, and customer-focused--not reluctant, dismissive, and adversarial. My advice is simple: don't do it. If you're considering staying here, remember that when things go wrong, how management responds matters just as much as the problem itself. Based on my experience, you deserve better. Listen to what I'm telling you. Don't let my mistake become your mistake. You deserve better than this
