This is my least favorite coffee place in King. There is no consistency in the coffee. One day it tastes okay the next time it tastes awful. It either tastes burnt or it's so sweet it hurts your stomach. It's upsetting because it's such a pretty coffee place but they just can't seem to find consistency. read more

Stopped in today for the first time. First impression after walking in, the place is really cute and smells fantastic! They have an open floor plan with a visible, upstairs seating area. They also have some outdoor seating. The girls working were friendly, and one recommended my drink. I enjoyed their Lavender and Honey Latte, iced. Ordered a Strawberry Smoothie for my little one. It was the perfect day to sit outside on their patio. Normally, they have baked goods, but they were sold out when we came by today. Just means we'll have to go back again soon. I came here on a Sunday morning and enjoyed a cup of pour over coffee with a blueberry muffin from Camino Bakery. The coffee was great, as was the muffin. The service was nice, and they explained the different coffee bean options I had for the pour over, which I appreciated. The space is small, but there is an upstairs area that was a little quieter and had a decent amount of tables given the space limitations. They have a specialty menu with options like rosemary latte and such. I got the honey cardamom hot 16 oz latte and it taste just perfect with the cutest heart foam I've seen in a long while. This coffee shop is hidden behind the Stokes pharmacy, on Main St. The coffee is cheaper than Starbucks but is better tasting! The prices are cheaper than a Starbucks coffee. The service is excellent for politeness. Do give yourself a few minutes because it is a small business, with a small amount of employees. We went through the drive thru, therefore, I am not sure how the restaurant is inside. I am giving this store five stars because I really have no complaints. It is the cleanest and best tasting coffee I've ever had. When I clean out my coffee pot after brewing this coffee, there is no yucky residue stain left behind in the pot, I can rinse it clean with water only! I love this small town coffee shop! Everything I've tried (lattes, blended coffee, mochas, regular drip coffee) has been excellent. I'm always surprised by the level of service here. The employees are great and make you happy you chose to come here. You can order online and have your order ready when you arrive. It gives it a rustic feel with a great place to read a book or study 1. Drip, pour over, and cold brew are from Pure Intentions coffee roasters out of Charlotte. Est 2011. The espresso is in house and varies. They do not have single origin options, but the option I had today wasn't to bad. 2. They do not make their own syrups, which usually steers me away from a specialty coffee shop. However, they did have a good quality brand for syrups, of which I chose the lavender. 3. Good muffins, jus sayin. Overall not a bad little place in King. There's nothing special, or an item that hooked me. Didn't wow me today, probably won't be back. read more

If possible ask for a barista that isn't a musician but that is personal preference. The extra parking lot is very nice and spacious. Also, Spark Fitness and Performance down the road is great gym with good trainers and isn't the least bit intimidating. Terrible customer service, but a nice place to hang out. My girlfriend and I ordered their nitro cold brew, and they told us to go over to their kegerator and fill it up ourselves. They weren't sure which lever was for the nitro and which was for the cold brew, but instead of walking over to it and moving their body they just stood there and watched as I pulled the nitro lever and it sprayed all over the place because it was already tapped. They had a only been open a couple hours so they clearly did not check it that day or clean it. Instead of apologizing they just told me to fill it up with the regular iced coffee with the other lever. I'm sure it was leftover from the day before and it tasted as much. I was looking forward to that nitro cold brew. TLDR: I spent eight dollars on yesterday's iced coffee and zero customer service. read more

Great find (especially in King, NC). Coffee beans are from Pure Intentions Coffee in Charlotte, NC. There is a newly delivered roaster sitting in a space adjacent to the coffee bar, and the barista tells us they'll be roasting their own coffee soon. Jenna, our barista, crafted a great 8oz. coffee drink (though we debated what you should call it). Ultimately it was exactly what I'd hoped for, regardless of what you call it. The space is perfectly designed, ... comfortable, plenty of seating, WiFi, everything you'd expect. I have stopped in before, and will continue to stop in whenever I'm around. Whether you get a pour over or a drip coffee, you will not get the over roasted flavor of Starbucks. So, my father-in-law visiting from Charlotte treated me and my sons to a stop at the new coffee shop in King. Espresso drink culture hasn't caught on in King despite some noble efforts through the years. The main reason always comes down to would-be entrepreneurs failing to understand what it takes to make quality espresso. You can't grind month old beans a couple days in advance and pull those shots an hour in advance for good drinks. Espresso Mechanics Is a nicely-styled remodel in the old Merritt plumbing building and immediately I questioned if I entered a portal to a different city. It's in the same building as a hair salon and yoga studio. I try the espresso by itself in any new place and here it did not disappoint, no ashy, sour or funkiness detected but rather a nice citrusy, toasty initial flavor and a long satisfying finish. Conversing with the barista I found him to have good understanding of the details of roasting, bean origin, espresso preparation, etc. I was happy to hear of ambitious expansion plans including craft beer in the future. Prices were reasonable, if you've never had a pourover coffee now is your chance with good choices for origin and roast profile. I urge you to support this place, I'd like to see the expansion happen. read more

We found that there's plenty of room to sit and chat and great service at the espresso bar I also noticed that there's a yoga room off of the café area and a couple of tables outside which would be quite pleasant for early morning cuppa Joe before the sun moves over the building.
