He showed up right on time and was ready to serve when the party started. My guests couldn't have been happier with the service and selection. Everyone was able to build their own hot dogs and Charley made excellent suggestions when folks were overwhelmed by topping options. The favorite toppings in the group (not surprisingly) were the Pepsi Onions and the Bacon Jam. The sauces were popular as well especially the sweet heat and the blueberry jalapeno. I can't recommend them more highly. The made catering a party of 50ish people so so easy on me, the host. Very reasonably priced as well. Go see the Gunny when he's set-up around town but also be sure to invite him to your party, wedding, reception, etc. You and your guests won't be disappointed.

Charley Smith makes his own chili, and it makes the hot dog here special. My dog had an all beef wiener, freshly chopped onions, and the home made chili - so very, very nice. The Smoked Sausage has a great flavor, and is truly massive - twice the size of the hot dog, and with kraut and spicy mustard it is excellent. Charley is a most pleasant man, and makes coming here a pleasure indeed.

The around the world plate ($35) isn't bad, ribs are a hit and miss. Some pieces have been charred to death and really dry. Other pieces are succulent and juicy. You get a good amount of fish, but the later you go, you start tasting the oil getting old. The wings are good. Simple topped with old bay. Crinkle cut fries are, well, just that. The pork chop was the shoe stopper. Look at that damn piece! (Sorry my inner monologue escaped). Juicy and lots of flavor. The steak they gave, was great. Who doesn't love a grilled steak! Come check them out on Randleman! Price range $15-$45

This past Sunday, a new on the scene food truck, Fish N Wings, was our choice for lunch. Their…read moremission is to serve hot, fresh fish and flavor packed wings while providing clean and friendly service...and that's exactly what they did! We tried a wing and fish combination platter. The platter came with fried fish, wings, cole slaw, french fries, slices of white bread, Mumbo sauce, a beverage, and packets of hot sauce & ketchup. One of the goals of Fish N Wings is to bring Mumbo sauce to the Triad. This is a red orange sauce from Washington, DC that's similar to BBQ sauce but thinner and closer to Chinese sweet and sour. It's put on fried chicken wings, french fries, and fried rice. We started with the chicken wings. There were two flats and two drumettes in the combo. They were deep fried until the skin was nicely crisp and the meat was juicy and flavorful on the inside. We could see flecks of seasoning on the skin. The Mumbo sauce is served on the side, and we both enjoyed it. I thought it had a bit of Caribbean flair with the fruity sweetness. These wings were fantastic. The chicken wings and Mumbo sauce were an example of when a chef has perfected a dish in their repertoire. The Cole Slaw was made from fresh chopped cabbage, shredded carrot, and a mayonnaise dressing. The crispy French Fries had been sprinkled with seasoned salt. I dipped mine in the Mumbo sauce for even more added flavor. The three pieces of tender, flaky fish had been battered in a cornmeal crust and deep fried. The piping hot fish had a bit of zip from the spices. The well-seasoned, crispy fish tasted great on its own. We tore it apart and ate it with our fingers. You could also make a sandwich with the slices of soft bread if you preferred. Fish N Wings accepts credit cards. The service was friendly and the food was great. A personal favorite of mine is the Shroom & Swiss burger--that garlic aioli is so, so, so good and buttery. Last night I tried the Smokehouse Burger, and it was terrific too. The onions were perfectly cooked, and added a hint of sweetness. My partner always gets the Jamtastic Burger. It's probably his favorite burger in the Triad. Other pros: It was a packed night, and the food came out super quickly. And, they really customize your burger to how you want it; I needed mine cooked well done, and it was still nice and moist. Fries aren't necessarily anything to write home about, but they were hot and crispy, and I liked their seasoning. All in all, we have a hard time turning down the PH Burger Truck when it frequents our area...but we're never mad about it either.
